I’ve been working! Hey everyone! I’ve been building Holos, a productivity plugin that connects big-picture life planning to daily execution, all inside Obsidian. The core idea: a three-tier system where Tracks define what you’re focusing on in a phase of life, Projects drill into specific areas, and a grid planning view turns everything into executable daily tasks. All stored in plain markdown files in your vault. I built it because I kept overcommitting and losing the thread between my seasonal goals and what I was actually doing day to day. I would appreciate any feedback on the UI. Meanwhile, I am working on the task and rendering logic to make sure things are working as intended!
I added the capability for partial task completion. At first, I thought it would be a super simple task, but because of how tightly integrated everything is in the project, it took me a little longer than I thought it would.
I’ve been working on the actual v4 release of the plugin. But it’s been taking a lot longer than I thought. While testing the plugin in my test environment, the plugin runs quite smoothly. However, when testing it in my actual vault, it is a lot slower and less performant than I expected. Waiting 9 seconds just to switch a view is such a deal-breaker. Regardless, here is what I did since the last devlog: Added a panel to edit tracks in the “Workbench” view (When redesigning the views, I forgot to provide a place for people to edit their tracks) Fixed styling of the Gantt chart view Attempted to optimize performance with rendering tweaks and by removing some debounce conditions
Releasing and shipping something for other to use really isn’t about just pushing code. After writing up my release, I thought I would be done, but when it actually came to test the plugin out on my vault, I ran into some issues that made the plugin really unusable, so I’ve been working towards fixing that. Removed directly style sheet injection (Obsidian doesn’t like it when I add css using javascript) Added the ability to define start and end date for projects with 1 phase I still got some bugs to fix and production issues to address!
Some more fixes to really get the plugin to be useable by other people! v4.0.5 Add ability to change track effective dates in Workbench Change how track effective dates work Only 1 interval of active dates No longer dependent on its internal project contents Remove old, unused settings options...

To make a beautiful UI. Version Management with Github. CI/CD automated build pipelines. and more importantly: A way to connect! with my devlogs, I got a little over 500 total views, which is an absolute achievement if you think about it. 500 actual people in a large hall, yup that’s pretty compact. It took some inline python, sudo access (yep sudo is needed for charging control) and writing specific flags, since the flags part is something I’m still researching I’d best avoid from naming any stuff too early. Why sudo? We need superuser-do because at this stage we’re actually breaching in and modifying the system itself and hence permitted and legitemate superuser access is necessary While I can’t reveal a lot right now since it’s all over the place and I don’t wanna pass on the wrong stuff, I’m getting closer. What was it? So basically my app SMC_breach has placeholder buttons right now for: Charge to... and Charge Now both of these serve the purpose of charging control. The idea was simple AF: Gonna let these buttons speak to Darwin and then write the specific hex values (I suppose that is what you call them unofficially). Writing those values would basically let us tell the physical hardware that hey u gotta stop taking in current now! or hey stop taking current into the battery at X% Nonetheless after countless tries I failed within that 5 hour timespan, I’m gonna give it a shot again and I love to fail fast because the amount of data and automatic guidance u get is pretty cool! The Result Now my app interfaces with the kernel using private APIs (IOReport), and delivers live metrics that update by the instant! Next Steps? Now that I’ve tamed her (Darwin kernel) I’m gonna convince her to do nothing actually for now, but my next shot is at the USB ports to get the live incoming and outgoing power data out of doze nutss. The data it provides updates on USB/Magsafe plug & play events or once in 2 minutes or so, nice for uncs but not for me blud. And I discovered the God Not literally but not metaphorically either. Nonetheless now I’m gonna have to directly communicate with the Darwin kernel (the main guts of macOS) to gather all power related data (This might make my app need sudo ) but: quality > security panic and it’s open source so you can always see what’s going on under the hood. First day, first run, not like the average honeymoon phase! What’s up folks? this is Atharva known online as FiniteCode. This project is about building a macOS Power Information Utility, wherein the user can view live stats of power consumption and intake for their macbooks (and potentially macs too). This project is gonna be interesting, this is probably my 3rd or 4th time attempting to work with Swift, it has always been fun. Now I have low-level Access to macOS This is just theory, but realistically I’m only a couple of hours away from making this true. Upon extensive research and code review on various online posts and OSS, I was able to find that: Apple introduced a detailed sub-dictionary within the AppleSmartBattery node on Apple Silicon architectures (M1 and beyond), known as PowerTelemetryData . The PowerTelemetryData structure yields three critical metrics that must be utilized by my app: a) SystemPowerIn : This represents the total DC power entering the machine’s logic board directly from the external AC adapter, “prior to any internal routing”. b) BatteryPower : This metric indicates the precise amount of power actively being routed into the battery for charging, or being pulled from the battery for discharging. Stay tuned, I’m finally gonna play with these metrics!
The Skeleton is here! As stated in my previous devlog #2, the skeleton UI is now here, I’ve plugged in all the functions and metrics to gather data but a fix is needed to make all these display correct values, for now, we have a correct UpTime status and a correct Adapter Wattage reading. Other details remain to be fixed. thanks to the code completion I was able to type out these ~200 lines in under 25 minutes!
Now I have the access to the internals of macOS As promised through devlog #2 and devlog #3. I now have access to internal data states of macOS. Currently the power data displayed is correct and alongside is fully functional, now it’s time to switch up the and give it a face-lift. From here on I gotta figure out how I can make the glass clearer, adjust depth, splay, dispersion. etc etc The second Image represents my earlier mockup
Better Animations, better data The app now let’s you monitor live stats, features better scrolling text animations. I made sure the app was polling the system every 0.25 seconds, then it was averaging out the 4 data points at 0.25s intervals and giving the user a smooth 1 reading per second. The Reward and the Challenge This is now complemented by the animations which honestly took a solid amount of trial and error to get right, the key to mastering this was smooth fade out of the numbers, along side using the array chopping for animate per digit’s place!
A new icon! and a new Interface! It’s been 15 hours since my last devlog, had my night’s sleep, completed school, and worked for 3 hours too! and finally, I think I’m ready to present you with an icon, it’s not perfect, it’s not the best, but it’s my (sub-par) greatest creation. Presenting - SMC_breach …
I had told you I’m silly, and I proved myself right Historically great people have been great problem solvers, and to this day I used to think I was one. But today my hopes were shattered, because how silly and d*mb can you really get? I managed to think that my app has some severe error or a Memory leak, that’s causing it to stop at Thread 1 everytime I run it! I wasted 30mins looking for it, turns out it was just a breakpoint I had set. I’m at a loss for words because how do I even speak for myself?
Breaching into my mac before I sleep! :add-bad-apple-bruh: At this point, I’ve managed to get absolute cinema levels of access to the system. After extensive research btwn yesterday and tmrw I’ve figured out that the IOKit framework I yapped about earlier is an absolute tragedy, it’s: SLOW & USELESS. This is me signing off before I sleep! if you read till here, hit follow and we can exchange a couple greetings? won’t ya?
I talked to my mac’s kernel, she’s too rude Insanity Not only did it cost my sanity but over 3 hours of debugging, talking to the kernel, Gemini Research Mode Chats, and of course 2 hours of Xcode! What’s all this? If you’ve been out of the loop, this is my project SMC_breach and it directly talks to macOS and the underlying Darwin kernel to deliver live power usage statistics to you, all that right in the menu bar! Thanks for checking this out, do rate my project if you enjoy it, be SURE to try it! Feedback is always appreciated, love y’all for reading till the bottom!
When it doesn’t work out pssst, Commented below is the github link if you wanna breach into your Macbook too! *M1 and later, running macOS Tahoe or greater yepp, it didn’t work out this time and it’s totally FINE. a few things I learnt along the way, that I thought I might share with you all. Peace.
A comeback, we’re in the works!!! Breaching into macs just got EASIER :) Charging Control now Partially works on my mac, it’s finicky! How it works? It took some inline python, sudo access (yep sudo is needed for charging control) and writing specific flags, since the flags part is something I’m still researching I’d best avoid from naming any stuff too early. Why sudo? We need superuser-do because at this stage we’re actually breaching in and modifying the system itself and hence permitted and legitemate superuser access is necessary While I can’t reveal a lot right now since it’s all over the place and I don’t wanna pass on the wrong stuff, I’m getting closer. Peace.
Been kinda busyyy Lately I didn’t make many changes to my code, but I managed to crunch in a solid 5 hours of work. Did nothing insane infact, these 5 must’ve probably been one of my least unproductive hours so far, but I’ve got to work with what I have, school, family and my hobbies (this thing) and hence it has been a little taxing. Nonetheless I cleaned up my code, added some comments and built a small flow chart for myself (which I also managed to loose But that were my 5hrs pretty much, a mix of organization and anxiety, charge control is still finicky so I’ll try my best to get it right ASAP. PS: See the screenshot? those bytes were peak madness, I barely understand what I did there but uhmm, I’ll catch up, promise :) Peace
Coming back at it For a long time now I was gone, this was mostly due to academics and the ongoing festive season in India rn. I do hope I’ll be able to work again on it soon. These 3 logged hours featured minor bug fixes in the app. but since it’s been a month since these hours were logged, I don’t recall what it exactly was spent on. With that said, I also upgraded the README in the meantime.

The final breach Clearly an attempt to make a statement but it goes way beyond that. This Project - SMC_breach has proven to be largely successful. A project that finally allows you to view hardware power statistics as you use your mac device. Making this wasn’t easy, neither was the 9hr+ grind, In this short period of time I did over 700+ lines of code, but more than the numbers, I learned. Learned to: Talk to kernel. Nonetheless the Project is live and functional and there’s more coming in a few hours of my final push, including charging control, battery cycles count, more accurate readings and if hopefully everything goes well, live USB readings too!...

Worked on the ESC shematic almost ready for layout
Still on the shematic
Still trying to layout the ESC, it doesnt work ;(
Finished the shematic and the layout, but not the PCB size
Still far from finishing
Thought about giving up on the ESC, I just don´t know how to route this thing on a 4 Layer 2 oz outer and .5 oz inner copper weight
The 4 in 1 ESC was to hard, i make 4 little ESCs now
Finished the ESC and the shematics of the “Middleboard”

I spent so much time overthinking how to debug the 53 errors i got, turns out it was because of a semicolon…. btw this is a retro themed esp32 music play, because way too much stuff is digitalized and music shouldent be filled with ads!
i started rewriting the code so i can use little fs to save song names to the esp32, as the sd card is going to be directly mounted to the dfplayer and there is no other way to save or read data form the sd using the dfplayermini. I created a new settings menu as wel.
The display of my laptop broke :-( I have been coding uisng an external 7 inch monitor… These curly brackets are confusing me so much! But ill never stop this project till im done. Currently am rewriting the code for the menu and how to interact with it, i will andd bluetooth once im done with this base model!
currently writing the track selection code! Its throwing soooo many errors at me :-(
i started working on the settings part of the code . in getting hit with a lot of errors but im combing through the code and finding manyyy errors! ill update soon.
I finally got all the errors fixed! I’m going to flash and test this version and then add bluetooth! I’ll publish this version on github after that. :-)
im fixing a few errors it the menu like not being able to rename songs and fixing ui freezing and audio glitches, I got the base working and will start on bluetooth soon!
ok so the project works but i complete forgt to add the logic part of renaming songs etc, i deleted about 200 lines of code to update it. ill will post a breadboard prototype after fixing this version of code
I finished ver1.3, currenty debugging errors in ver1.3… Ill do a timlapse soon stay tuned for the hardware build montage!
I added code so that i can rename songs through the player but i have to clike abt 52 times per letter becaue the screen size and buttons are limited . If you have any ideas on optmizing the typing please feel free to suggest it in the comments!
just uploaded build montage on lapse go check it out
I’m currently fixing the keyboard navigation, and adding code to rename artists as well. I will update agian after fixing it.
I just dropped version 1.3 of the esp-pod on github , go check it out!
I found out i have to create a pcb so I’m doing it.
i fixed the schematics of the board. I added switches and labeled everything. I ran through the tests and it passed perfect.
i finished all the PCB Editing in about 5 hours!! I’m gonna put the PCB files on github soon. I”ll also send it for reshipping… hopefully it will be accepted.

You point it at a folder of photos, videos, and documents you already have and it gives you a proper web app to browse, search, and stream them from anywhere, without ever touching or reorganizing the actual files on disk. I built it because I have a Samsung T7 drive full of a decade of family photos and every app I tried wanted to import everything into its own library and rename stuff. Loom just reads whatever folder structure you already have and works with that. . Under the hood it’s three Docker containers, a Next.js app for the UI and API, a separate worker that indexes the filesystem and makes thumbnails, and Postgres for metadata only, never file content. It has a full file browser with grid and list views, a photo and video viewer, drag and drop uploads, trash with recovery, multiple user accounts with per folder permissions, and an audit log. There’s also a public demo you can try without installing anything, it’s a completely fake version running with no backend at all, everything happens in your browser. . The hardest part by far was video playback. Browsers only play a handful of video formats natively, so anything else, HEVC from an iphone, old MOV and AVI files, needed converting on the fly. I didn’t want to transcode an entire two hour video before someone could watch even the first second of it, so I built a system that only converts the exact chunk of video someone is actually watching or seeking to, in six second pieces, and shares the work if two people ask for the same part at once. Getting that to not corrupt itself when someone seeks around took a lot of debugging. . The other really annoying stretch was making the demo version work. It’s a static build with literally no server, and the entire fake backend is done by intercepting fetch requests in the browser. I got it fully built and deployed and it looked fine, every page loaded, every request returned 200, and it was completely broken underneath, folders showed up empty and buttons did nothing. Turned out the code that fakes the backend was never actually running in the browser at all because of how Next.js bundles server components, and curl and normal build checks couldn’t catch it since everything technically responded fine. I only found it by scripting an actual headless browser to click through the site. . What I’m most proud of is probably the idle drive design. A lot of self hosted apps for photos and files constantly watch your disk or hash every file on every scan, and I really didn’t want that for a drive that spins down. Loom only reads file size and modified time to check for changes, and only actually opens a file’s content the first time something genuinely needs to, like making a thumbnail. A full rescan of a library that hasn’t changed barely touches the disk at all. . To test it, the easiest way is the live demo, no install needed, any username and password works and there’s a button that fills in the demo login for you. From there you can click into the sample folders (they go a few levels deep on purpose), open a photo or video, try renaming or trashing something and refresh the page to see it stuck around, and check out the settings pages for users, permissions, and the scanner. If you want to run the real thing, it’s a single script install with Docker, clone the repo and run the install script and it walks you through the rest.", "repo": "https://github.com/KaveeshKrishna/loom", "demo": "https://loomdemo.kaveeshkrishna.in/"}]...

DEVLOG_1: After taking break from my project Sentinel, I have now started a new project Loom. It is again related to the home server I made using my 7 year old laptop!! I am making this project because I wanted a reliable way to access and edit personal files which are on an external ssd attached to my server. Everything remotely. Right now I have made the initial UI of Loom and a rough outline of where buttons and options are gonna be. now I am gonna work on all the different sections you are seeing on the attached image :]
DEVLOG_2: This one took more time than I thought but now Loom is able to identify folder structure and files inside my SSD :] The scanner walks the tree with readdir and stat, and for every file it stores the path (relative to /media), the name, file or directory, the type, size and modified time. all of that becomes a FileNode row in Postgres.
DEVLOG_3: After doing a lot of research online about industry standard says to make a secure login method. I added a login page that uses email and password, no Google OAuth because Loom is not supposed to be a public website but for personal use. I’m using better-auth for the actual logic. It hashes passwords with Scrypt so they are never stored in plain text, and it keeps sessions as a row in a sessions table plus a signed httpOnly cookie. The cookie is signed with BETTER_AUTH_SECRET which the installer generates as a random 48 byte value. Each sessions last 30 days and refresh if they are older than a day, so you dont get logged out mid use. CSRF is handled by TRUSTED_ORIGINS in the env, a list of origins allowed to make logged in requests, anything not on the list gets rejected :]
DEVLOG_4: In the settings page I have added the option to create new users with different permissions. I can decide which folders each account can see and what they can not see. Also, the Scanner page now lets me start a manual scan which will go through the storage device and index all the files properly. I am also working on an automatic Preview and Thumbnail generation while this scan runs but right now it is not working, hopegully by the next 2 Devlogs I can make it work :]
DEVLOG_5: Worked for 12+ hours straight and finally implemented a lot of very important features. The Scanner is now properly working there was a bug I solved which was making the scanner log the indexes of the files but never start a preview or thumbnail generation. Now each time U hit scan button it goes through the entire directory of your storage device and every file is properly indexed in a postgres database. every img file is sent to a thumbnail and preview generator and from every vid file its 1st second is captured and used to generate a thumbnail and preview for it as well. Lasty I also added an audit log page which shows the last 20 audits on done on Loom :]
DEVLOG_6: Ok, I don’t why it took me this long to implement but here we are _ I added right click action menu for folders, files and directory. right clicking on the empty space of current directory will give you options to upload files and folders and create folders (only create folder action works at the moment). And right clicking on folders and files will give you options like cut, paste, copy delete and star. Starring a file will add it to the favorites folder which can be accessed via the side panel and deleting anything will send it to the trash folder and it will be permanently deleted after 15 days. I am still working on making the proper UI of trash folder and fav folder :]
DEVLOG_7: OK!! so this time I have added a few small but noticeable features!! . First, I added multiple file/folder selection and bulk actions like delete. . Second, I made the search work, so it searches in the current open directory by default and if you are on the home page then ofc it searches the entire storage device, but if you are in some other folder and you try searching it will by default search in that folder only if you want it to search the entire storage device then u can click on the little global search icon beside the search bar (it appears only when you are not in the home directory) And it is quite fast because it searches using the folder indexes stored in the database during scan. . Third, I added list view and in the grid view I added 4 different icon sizes, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large. . And Finally, for all the right click actions, I added a long press action for touch screen devices :]
DEVLOG_8: Added a proper folder path tree just like windows file explorer. It grows as you open folders inside folders and clicking on the previous folder name will take you to that folder. :] . I have made it properly responsive too, so if it grows too much the previous folders are replaced with “…”
DEVLOG_9: Ok now the Favorites, Photos, Videos and Documents pages are working properly. . In the Fav page all the files which we have starred are listed, and on the vid, photos and docs pages the respective kind of files are listed. . These specific pages are essentially acting like a filter filtering out specific files extensions from throughout the storage device and listing all of the filtered files in one place :]
DEVLOG_10: I have added a proper trash system. So any file you delete gets transferred to the .trash folder inside the same storage device and sits there for 15 days. if you don’t manually deleted them permanently, they get deleted automatically after 15 days. . Right now I am transferring all the deleted files and folders as it is to the trash, but I am thinking to make them compressed while storing inside the trash so that the don’t take up a lot of space, I haven’t implemented this though as I am not sure how am I gonna do it properly yet :]
DEVLOG_11: OK!! so in this coding session I built a File Health page in Loom. This is a feature which I was personally excited to make :] . So basically while the Scan is running Loom tries to index files, generate preview and thumbnails for media files, if during this process any files throws error and Loom finds out the file is corrupt or has any issues it labels the issue and hides it from the file explorer and shows it in the dedicated File Health page. . At the moment it only displays these compromised files and shows the exact error they gave, but in the future I want to make Loom be able to fix these files if possible.
DEVLOG_12: This was a long and major update session, I added a working notification system, if uploading files or downloading files or moving them causes any error, loom safely pauses the operation to avoid problems with the file and throws a notification stating what happened. Also other notifications like scan completion is also given :] . The file and folder upload features are actually working now, although it gets stuck when uploading very large files, I am trying to make it more reliable at the moment. . File search now also works with the Photos, Videos, and Documents tabs.
DEVLOG_13: OKKK, so this is gonna be the last devlog for Loom before I ship it. Loom is now ready to be used by anyone in their VPS to manage their personal file :] . I also made a demo website for loom which anyone can visit to see how it works and looks at loomdemo.kaveeshkrishna.in . Fixed the last remaining bugs and made the permissions working properly, now every new account in Loom can be given a set of permissions and that account will not be able to access files other than the set permissions.
Ships:
Loom is a self hosted file manager for your own server or NAS. If you want to run the real thing, it’s a single script install with Docker, clone the repo and run the install script and it walks you through the rest....

I built a Whimsical Joke Generator using HTML, CSS, and JaveScript! It features dual mode joke sets (whimsical vs plain), dynamic background color changing, custom typography and floating emoji pop animations when interacting with buttons
adding a burger style menu bar was so hard, i kept typing code under style and i was so confused for a second as tp why the code wasnt working as it should, anyways theres alot of changes coming to v1!
tried to add a theme menu and version badge… both are giving me a hard time….
took me a while but i decided to not go with v1 but instead call it v2 to symbolise how big of a jump it is

just doing some research and testing with javalin
whole ton of progress!! improved server manager created a CLI manager added sqlite support (once created commands wont vanish until deleted) config.yml added added commands start, stop, list, info, endpoint and create

Finallyyy!!!!!! linked google with my browser. now i can search or jump to different websites also i added the dark mode option to match the system settings of most of the user and also some shortcuts to youtube google search.
added some more features and a more simple and easy to use look to the browser with new shortcuts to google youtube and latest news section with a new music player and a sign in button
finally completed the project by adding some news and editing the background which changes with light mode and dark mode and now it has all basic functions of a browser
#devlog4 this time i made it a little bit more simpler than earlier and hope you like it this time.

So mostly i wrote fallback in vulkan and some other things . it was hard for and many time i forget to log and devlog but that it soon u will see android support . ref https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/162559 https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/163126 https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/162820 https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/163630 https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/163398 and this my last ship after that i will turn 19 year old at 14 sept soo byye :)...

Dev Log #1 Started building a Web OS by following the Hack Club Stardust guide. It was a fun way to learn how everything works, and I fixed a few bugs along the way. Next, I’m planning to add a working Notes app with saved notes, followed by a Calculator app. Looking forward to adding more features!
Devlog#2 Here is a more improved version, i tried to keep it minimal and its inspired by mac os, now in next update ill try to make it more unique
#Devlog3 added calendar widget and a weather widget, i temporarly removed some of the codes of the weather widget so it wont show my location, but it does work fine. Also removed the apps from desktop to only on dock, improved the glass effect, added some very simple animations
DEVLOG#4 Big changes changed the whole vibe from last time. added new themes, gallery, settings, a todo app and a widget, right click menu now the weather widget will show weather in new york instead of askng for your location to show local weather. next ill try to add a browser
Devlog5 Added new wallpapers Added a browser Fixed some issues Made some smoll adjustments Improved UI
DEVLOG6 added animations for window maximizing added a transition when changing wallpapers added notificatios for Notes being created All notes getting deleted Todo new task Todo task deleted Todo task completed Todo task marked incomplete Also tweaked the colors Made it so the task and notes that you add stays even after you refresh the site next ill try to add a music app
#DEVLOG7 Okay so i fixed bugs, seperated the js into multiple files so its easier for me to work, New app : Music player I have added 20 songs to it
DevLog#8 Added an app to doomscrool Added two simple games Splited the css files so i can work easly Fixed bugs, some bugs where already there but i was like ill fix it laterr… only has four videos for now but ill add more, i feel like its ready to ship unless i find something to add
DevLog#9 Last devlog before shipping Added a doomscroll app Added terminal, type help to see all commands Added a Boot screen Made it more polished so i can ship it
Ships:

In this project, I created a little thing where 5 LEDs of different colours light up in order and then go out in that same order. What went well: Since this is a very simple project, the code was quite easy to understand and do. Likewise, the wiring was also very easy. What went wrong: I initially planned to do this with 10 LEDs, but then I realized they would be to crammed to all fit in a nice row and looked good, so I downsized to 5. Additionally, I am not fully aware of all of the pins on the esp32 so I wasn’t aware that pin 35 is solely for input. The blue LED wouldn’t light up, and I thought I was going crazy. The fix was to just use another pin and bring it in the row through a couple extra wires. What can improve: Now I ain’t no genius here, but I believe that this code was very long and very repetitive, since it just defines, pin number, sets it to output, then turns it on high, delay, next pin, until they’re all high, then turns them off, delay, repeat until they’re all off. I’m sure that this can be condensed, and be made shorter. Looks like I’ll do that when I’m more advanced. Additionally, the VSCode + Github copilot in the beginning knew what I was going to write, and I want it to be purely my code so I turned it off. Final Comments: Not a bad start, but we’ve just started and there’s a lot to learn. I also hate having to put semi-colons at the end of every declaration. What is this bro, just hit enter into the next line and call it a day."}]...

WildOS is a web-based but nature-themed OS and my second WebOS. My first WebOS helped me understand how a WebOS works, so this time i wanted to make something bigger and more functional. What I Built I made 9 apps : Wild Notes - write notes Wild Music Player - play music Wild Files - explore and download files Wild Settings - change the appearance Wild Weather - shows the weather of the Amazon Rainforest Wild Store - download and install apps Wild Gallery - view pictures Wild Sounds - play some crazy sounds Wildo - the personal assistant of WildOS The Music Player and Wild Store took me the most time. While making them, i learned more about JavaScript , app structures and how different parts of the OS connect together. Features Custom backgrounds Appearance settings Background sounds Boot animation Boot percentage Boot music Filters Custom cursor 3 new songs Draggable windows Fullscreen support App downloading and installation I also completely changed Wildo . Now he can give guides about WildOS and generate 2 images using JavaScript . Problems I Faced One big problem i faced was having 1000+ lines of HTML in one file . As the project became bigger, it became harder to find things and fix bugs. I spent time aligning and organising the code. I also faced some lag and dragging bugs while building it. This helped me learn how important it is to keep the code organised when a project gets bigger. How It Works mainly WildOS works like a small OS inside the browser. You can open apps from the dock, move the windows around, change the appearance, play music and download apps from the Store. You can play it directly in the browser. Use fullscreen and headphones for a better experience. Easter Eggs There are some Easter Eggs hidden inside WildOS. Double-click the tree icon on the top Double-click the WildOS text on the top There are also some more things hidden around the WildOS. I really enjoyed building WildOS and learned a lot about JavaScript, app structures, dragging windows, music players and fixing bugs . I made WildOS, a web-based but nature-themed OS. Thanks to MeowOS for inspiring me to build one too. Also thanks to the WebOS Guide that helped me understand what to build, and thanks to the team that built that guide. So what I built is a nature-themed OS called WildOS. It is fully nature-themed and has some awesome features. This one is web playable, so anyone can test it directly in the browser. I added 5 apps to it. The first one is WildNotes, where you can write your notes. The second one is a music player that lets you play some cool music. The third one is Files, which is just a simple file window. The fourth one is Settings, where you can change the theme. And the fifth one is WILDO, WildOS’s personal assistant, but it is always unreachable. I also added a booting window, text animations, a live clock, customizable themes, and draggable windows. This is my second WebOS. The first one gave me an idea of how a WebOS could work, and while building WildOS I learned more about JavaScript, especially dragging windows and making the booting screen. I also took a little inspiration from macOS for the dock and some of the icons, but I tried to make the rest of the design my own and keep everything around the nature theme. It was really interesting to build and I learned a lot from it. There are plenty of things left to improve. so at last i created the desktop booting and the first window ,still a lot more
WILDOS Hi i am using my free time to complete the webos i am mainly using html, css, and some javascript. So i making the first webOS so a very simple.btw i created the booting screen and a dragable window now i want to style it and thanks to the guide by stardance and meowos , i take it a inspiration to bulid this . see ya
At last i completed it.It was so cool to complete the WebOS 1 JAM. I made WildOS, a web-based but nature-themed OS.Thanks to MeowOS for inspiring me to build one too, and also thanks to the WebOS Guide that helped me understand what to build. Also thanks to the team that built that guide. So what i built is a nature-themed OS called WildOS.It is fully nature-themed and has some awesome features. This one is web-playable, so anyone can test it directly in the browser.I added 5 apps to it. The first one is WildNotes, where you can write your notes. I started working on WebOS 2.Today, I added some new things:Added a new structure for the Music Player Added a Weather app Added file downloading in the File app Added full-size windows for all apps Next, I’m going to finish the Music Player and start working on a Store app.
worked on music player added the javascript now adding the store app and inside that some apps to download also added new fonts , changed all macos style icons in green icons more comming
I ADDED MUSIC PLAYER ,THE FILES- ALL BUTTONS IS WORKING ADDED A STORE BUT NOT COMPLTED ALSO FIXED SOME BUGS OF DRAGGING WINDOW
wildOS Worked on settings today. I added appearance , customisable backgrounds and background music . I also worked on fixing javascript bugs and learned more about music ,dragging etc . Next, I am going to: completeing settings app store some music Getting closer to completing my WebOS2
Devlog WildOS Today I worked on APP STORE mostly and sometime on settings as well. I added store app struture and details for apps in store . I also have some lag bugs with web but i am trying to resolve that Next, I am going to: resolve the lag bug finish the store app with js build sounds and galllery app yay bugs bugs let me complete this one
WEBOS 2 today was another interesting day of working on my webos 2. i added two more apps to the webos — Gallery and Sounds . i also somehow managed to fix the lag bug that was happening when using the webos. it was a really annoying bug because sometimes the ui would get stuck or become slow, but after working on it i finally got it working much better. after that i completed the design of the Store app . the store is going to be one of the bigger parts of the webos because it can be used to show and add different apps. the design part is now completed and i also started working on the JS for it. i also added a click sound when interacting with things in the webos. its a small feature but it makes the experience feel much better and gives the webos a little more life. added Gallery app added Sounds app fixed the lag bug completed the Store design started the Store JS added click sounds today also taught me a lot about JavaScript, app structures, bugs and how different parts of the webos connect together . the wildos is slowly becoming bigger and more complete with every update. there is still a lot left to build I am trying to make it fast ,bye!
WILDOS FINAL-DEVLOG at last i completed the wildos. i completed the store and the rest of the apps . the store took a long time to make but at last i completed it and made it functional. i also changed some app styles from webos1, made my own backgrounds for the boot and main window, added filters and a cursor image. also added boot percentage, boot music, some easter eggs and 3 new songs. i completely changed wildo and now he can give guides and generate 2 images. i also aligned the 1000 line html code and added the wifi logo. at last everything is done. ready to ship..!
completed the readme for the project and made it properly written with the project details and everything needed. it took some time to arrange everything in the readme so it looks clean and understandable. i also aligned the 1000 line html code properly because it was not properly aligned before and it was hard to read and work with. now the readme is completed and the html code is properly aligned.

WildOS It was so cool to complete the WebOS 1 JAM. That’s it for WebOS 1. let’s see what I can build for WebOS 2.
WILDOS at last i completed WildOS for the WebOS 2 JAM . That’s it for WebOS 2 . check it out, ya tried!...

Yes, he is after you. And yes, he is taller than you. Things will not be the same after this log! I might be Victor Frankenstein The code for the Blood Axolotl was not very difficult. It’s just a taller player; all the work that I have done before have lead up to this! Than I made it slowly follow the player (don’t worry, when I make him more developed I’ll also make him faster ;). Placement I also made it so collectables won’t spawn in the same spot anymore. It’s not to much, but a good improvement anyway 👍. Next In the intro, I said “Things will not be the same after this log,” that is because the base of this video game Blood Axolotl is done. Of course, there is still a lot that can be worked on, but the premise of collecting collectables while avoiding the Blood Axolotl will stay the same. And this way, if the end of Stardance sneaks up on me, I could publish at any time from now on! But that is for the far future. For the here and now: next I will make an auto(ish) depth changing system. You will be able to go hold W while approaching a stair case and go up it, or not and go by it, how exciting! Than I will make the Blood Axolotl’s AI far better, how thrilling! bye"}, {"post_id": 66936, "ts": "2026-09-12T22:12:48Z", "hours": 5.4397, "text": "I Am Collected (Devlog 6) I got collectables done, took a little more time than expected. I might have lied. In my last devlog, I figured that I might be able to post two devlogs in one day because the following system was going to be pretty simple, there for doable in the rest of the day. It’s been a week. Here is the rundown Collectables (just an object marked with Collectable ) spawn on top of objects marked with CollectableLocation . Than collectables that are clicked on are removed and the resource Collected is bumped up by one. Burnt out After posting the last devlog, I got right to work making the collectable objects and the placement system. It wasn’t awful, the only thing I kinda struggled with was getting a random number to than get a random CollectableLocation . (rant ends at next paragraph) What was awful is that I spent 3 and a half hours that day coding. I know that might not be a lot for some people. But I was than burnt out for the next 4 days, until today. I can not tell if that was my own fault or if I was influenced by exterior motives… Either way, lesson learned! Observation Next I had to detect a mouse click on a collectable. That was difficult. I tried to use Bevy’s observers, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to get them to work. So, I made my own system to guesstimate where the mouse is in the game world. It’s imperfect but it works at least! End With a few more modifications and additions, I had created a collectables system! Next, I will make a Blood Axolotl ! Until next time!"}, {"post_id": 63703, "ts": "2026-09-07T17:11:39Z", "hours": 2.1825, "text": "Lights , Camera, Action(?) (Devlog 5) I made a house in the game! + I made the camera fallow the player! Oh yeah, I also changed the depth system a little bit! (All very thrilling) Our House I took the ramps stairs and physics AABB and put them together to make a house. It might look a little questionable at the moment, but it will (probably) look better when I add sprites and texture stuff. In the Middle of Our Camera I also updated the camera to follow the player. It’s a very small system but it works well . More Depth Perception I updated the depth system so that objects can fit in a specific range of depths instead of the old “all or one” depth style. So, now the depth component is an enumeration with Single , Range , and All states. This is useful for cases like when I want the base floor of a house to persist when going up stairs to the next floor or when going around a stair case (see the video). Another exiting thing is that I made a macro for creating Depth components. It works like this: depth!() -> Depth::All , depth!(1) -> Depth::Single(1) , depth!(1, 3) -> Depth::Range(1, 3) . It’s simple, but it’s the first time I have ever made a macro ! The Here and Now That’s it for now, next I will be working on a collectables system. I wonder, because it shouldn’t be very complex , if I could could post two devlogs in one day… Bye for now!"}, {"post_id": 62516, "ts": "2026-09-05T22:36:04Z", "hours": 2.3519, "text": "Depth Perception (Devlog 4) Today, I go over how I added a third dimension to my 2D game. Idea When running away from the blood axolotl, you may want to run inside a house or around a house. The game’s current setup doesn’t allow for this! So, by adding depth I can give the player more hiding spots, making them feel safe for longer, there for, making them play longer . Execution (no, not the player, yet ) What I did was make a new component: Depth (how clever of a name). And in the collision reaction code, if two objects have different depth, than have them not collide. If one of the objects doesn’t have the Depth component, make the objects collide anyway. This makes Depth -less objects collide with everything, so I don’t need a bunch of different floor objects for each depth ! Than I also made a simple system so that the player can move depths. I’ll have to change it quite a bit in the future but it is fine for now. Up next Next I am going to take the parts I’ve been creating and make buildings a thing. Than I’ll make collectables and the blood axolotl , (probably collectables first). Final thoughts Things are going swimmingly. The project should be wrapping up in the coming weeks. The last few things I’ve coded for this project haven’t been supper hard by any means it’s just that I got school and my robotics team is doing a thing for homecoming so I’ve just been kind low on energy :/. bye!"}, {"post_id": 60599, "ts": "2026-09-03T01:50:17Z", "hours": 2.8819, "text": "Stairs! (Devlog 3) I have made “stairs” in my game Blood Axolotl ! Setup To be honest, the idea is very simple. All that is happening is that the Physics Object is being displaced to sit on a line. That’s it. What do you know of a little something called y = mx + b ? To make the Physics Object sit on a line, what I have to do is change the y value (stairs move you up/down). To get what the y value should be all I have to do is solve for y on a slop, such as y = mx + b (my 5th grade math teacher would be so proud of me) . But, to be honest slope intercept form kinda sucks, (my 5th grade math teacher rn: ), so I’m using point slope: y - y_1 = m(x - x_1) more specifically, y = m(x - x_1) + y_1 to get just the y value. Outcome It works good, more like a ramp, but the game needs more development in every other aria before making the stairs more like stairs. Bye also, point slope > slope intercept
Depth Perception (Devlog 4) Today, I go over how I added a third dimension to my 2D game. The last few things I’ve coded for this project haven’t been supper hard by any means it’s just that I got school and my robotics team is doing a thing for homecoming so I’ve just been kind low on energy :/. bye!
Lights , Camera, Action(?) (Devlog 5) I made a house in the game! I wonder, because it shouldn’t be very complex , if I could could post two devlogs in one day… Bye for now!
I Am Collected (Devlog 6) I got collectables done, took a little more time than expected. Until next time!
I summon the Blood Axolotl (Devlog 7) Yes, I created the Blood Axolotl. Than I will make the Blood Axolotl’s AI far better, how thrilling! bye...

I started designing my Stardance macropad! I set up my KiCad project, imported the required libraries, and began creating the PCB layout. I worked on placing components and preparing the board design. Next, I will finish routing the PCB and begin designing the case.
Devlog 2: Finally closed up the bottom of my macropad case! It was hollow before, so I added a 3mm base and re-cut the four mounting holes so everything lines up correctly. I checked the measurements too, and the case is exactly 13mm tall like it should be. I also started working on the switch plate by generating a 3-key DXF with ai03’s plate generator and importing it into Fusion. I finally got everything working!
Today I worked on adding the DXF switch plate into my macropad case in Fusion 360. I ran into some issues because the plate was imported from a different design tab and was linked, so I couldn’t move it at first. After troubleshooting, I figured out how to access the Move tool and started aligning the plate with the case. Next, I’ll finish centering it and check that everything lines up correctly!!!
I was trying to center the plate onto the macropad.
I centered the plate onto the macropad, FINALLY!
I worked on switching the bottom plate to the top and then I checked some of the measurements before attaching to git.
I adjusted the measurements of the squares to be 14 x 14 with replaced the old squares with new ones.
I resized the macropad:)...

I have spent the past month designing and developing an ultra-low-cost astrophotography star tracker called the OpenDoor Star Tracker because it is fully open-source. It features many upgrades over a traditional, cheap barn door star tracker, as it uses an ESP32 to create a Wi-Fi-controlled webpage that allows for completely hands-off control, which makes astrophotography much, much easier while actually making the cost even lower when compared to an Arduino Nano. I chose this ESP32, as it would allow me to make this web controller without any additional cost, only the development time. The tracker uses a 28BYJ stepper motor, which is very cheap, to spin a cheap 1/4” threaded rod in exactly the opposite way that the Earth rotates, effectively cancelling out the spin of the Earth. This allows me to take long exposure photos of things, particularly our own galaxy. This long exposure is required, as light pollution plagues our world, and longer exposure times and photo stacking allow for some great photos with DSLR cameras. I really learned a huge amount with this project, particularly with the difficulties of making a truly fully open-source project, and having to write and make a fully public GitHub and BOM myself. It was a great engineering challenge as well, as it truly brings down the cost of astrophotography for so many people; at a price point of $30 for this level of control in a star tracker is simply unheard of and does not exist on the open-source market. The main parts I worked on were the automatic slewing, automatic tracker reset, and live-updating speed adjustments. This means that when I press the track button, it starts at position zero, and it measures the number of millimeters it travels over time, and you can see it live-updating on the position number on the HTML webpage. This took me a while to code, as I initially used a blocking code, which used the delay() function to send individual number of steps to the motor, and then change the number afterwards, but it was not a very professional setup, so I made it much better by using globals like trackingState, or resetState, that allow me to simply turn them on and off, and use the in built microseconds timer, to make the motor take each step at the correct time, to get the correct speed. The slewing commands were also upgraded to use this general, fully non-blocking system throughout the entire code. I also removed the night mode feature as it wouldn’t help block much of the light either way, so I will encourage users to use a filter on their main phone. I got the set zero position button to work easily, as well as the reset button. I also managed to use the preferences library on the ESP32 to permanently store any speed changes, so that if the speed is adjusted, you do not have to recode it or change the number manually again. Overall, I truly believe I learned so much over this huge period of time, and I am much better at using this kind of ESP32 webpage setup, as well as C++, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, much, much more. This should be the second-to-last DEVLOG, as I really have only small amounts of things left to code, and for the next DEVLOG, I will just do a lot of final publication stuff and film the YouTube demo video. These coding things include: Autonomous safety stop at max angle A time estimate feature that tells me roughly how much time I have before I have to reset it. And a few more. There are a few things I wish to add in the future, like a dew heater and temperature monitor system, but those are large projects and will take a while to get working correctly, so I will likely make them at a later time. The Arduino code is up to 500 lines, with the HTML page being around 200 lines of it."}, {"post_id": 59898, "ts": "2026-09-01T22:11:21Z", "hours": 0.8728, "text": "DEVLOG 007 I worked on the CAD model for the wedge design of the camera mount. I struggled to figure out how to use the stl file given by the original creator of the camera mount, but I still managed to my own planes in onshape and do some sketches and extrusions and craft out the 40 degree angle for my latitude. I also added in four small hooks that will embed themselves into the wood when tightened, eliminating any chances of it spinning around and breaking a camera. I will print this with many extra walls, maybe nearly 7 to 6 walls, and then add my screw in very tightly, as it will dig into the plastic quite deeply and strongly. Also, since the whole bottom post is attached to this wedge in one piece, it eliminates the need for any additional screws than before, and also gets rid of any motion in the bottom system, allowing the user to spin the top frame that has the tightening screw to any possible angle for safe adjustment of the camera angles. I also moved up the position to allow even more camera freedom, as well as balancing out the CG more, since the camera is the heaviest part of the whole tracker setup. Next time, I will make this CAD model parametric, so it can adjust to any angle the user wants. I will also try to fully complete another huge section of the coding, sending the position feedback and constantly updating that and storing it, as well as the tracking speed permanent saves using the esp32 preferences library, to store it permanently. I also hope to finish up the code, specifically the HTML site, and by that I mean completely wrap up the details and comment through every part of the code, and eliminate any unnecessary parts to prepare it to be made public. I will assign full CSS to each HTML object and text, so that on all devices it looks seamless. The slewing function also works, but I also changed the motion system to a much more raw format, which sends signals to each pin correctly, to control each step more accurately. This will allow me to use the adjust speed function on the fly, rather than trying to adjust the microseconds and then reuploading the code many times. I now have to change the slewing function to rotate exactly a certain number of steps, either for 5mm or 1mm, as well as some kind of progress bar, because it only spins at 3x the tracking rate, at roughly 15 rpm. Then, I have to add the position sending values to be able to accurately view the position, as well as a time calculator that sends a warning if it is running out of room, and also stops automatically in a safe zone. I now have only a few things left to add to the main assembly including the camera ball head, the 5:1 gears, the door hinge wood pieces, and the electronics bay lid. After that, I switched over to finishing up the software side of this project, and worked a lot on understanding deeply how I can use the esp32 to control this system wirelessly. I now know the different possible control methods include station mode, which I have previously used in another project, which requires internet connection, and also access point mode, in which the esp makes its own wifi network, and you can join it without the internet, because it sends data over its own wifi connection, rather than through the interconnected internet. I have chosen right now, to go with AP mode, as many people will use this remotely, but I definetly will make a system, where you can change between either mode, or possibly use both modes at once, so if you usually use the tracker at home, you can connect to it from anywhere in your house, but if you take it outside somewhere, it switches to AP mode, and acts as a solo wifi station. I then worked on the frontend of the html mostly, making a neatly organized web control software with many buttons and labels. I included controls that I though were helpful, but if this becomes successful, than I am extremely open to any additional suggestions, as I might even add on a simple red led on the outside of the tracker, to use as a flashlight, to see the ground without ruining your night vision. This led could also be used as a quick indicator, which tells you if it is actively tracking, or if there is some error with the system, then it would start blinking rapidly. I can probably use the pwm pins to control this and allow easy dimming controls through the webpage. Another possible thing I can add is a dew heater with a thermistor to read the outside temperature, and camera temperature, and then automatically turn it on when it hits a certain temperature, or just manually control the temperature through a pwm loop. I also added a small amount of the frontend’s backend; by that I mean the JavaScript portion, in which I added the ability to turn on and off tracking, and it switches the CSS of the button to say either ON in white letters or OFF in red letters, with a black background. By then, the print for the electronics bay was finished, and I was elated to discover that the whole ESP32 and stepper driver setup didn’t even fit in it. DEVLOG 001 I worked on making the initial accurate and precisely movable EQ wedge base, to allow for quick and simple polar aligment when using the polar scope as well. I also made an initial google sheet, and had to work around how to properly mount the base to the tripod using a central screw, and having two separate screws for the part that mounts to the wooden base of the tracker. I also hope to buy the steel threaded rod, and bend it to the proper curve, and then mount and begin coding a simple ESP 32 control system.
DEVLOG 002 I worked on the full cad model, as this is a fully open source project, and I want to have all possible dimensions available in cad. I also worked in real life to mount the 3d printed eq wedge as well as the curved screw, stepper motor and things like that to the actual mount. DEVLOG 003 I worked on soldering the esp32 and the stepper motor driver together using a simple perfboard. It was my first time soldering a perfboard and it was incredibly difficult and frustrating! I eventually got better, and figured out that I did not have to use so much solder, and was able to control the flow better by removing excess solder with solder wick. I often used my multimeter to check continuity with each pin, and to check that no pins were accidentally over lapping at the solder, which many were, and I had to fix. Very fun session, and I am incredibly excited to design the webpage and finally get to make this project look better on the outside.
DEVLOG 004 I worked on finishing up the major new cad that I have to do like creating the electronics bay that houses the esp32, stepper driver, and extra stepper motor wire. I think I did quite well when I cadded it, as I am getting much better at CAD after practicing so much about it. I also mounted this box to the main assembly, added the stepper motor to the main assembly, as well as the main screw. I now have only a few things left to add to the main assembly including the camera ball head, the 5:1 gears, the door hinge wood pieces, and the electronics bay lid. DEVLOG 005 I worked on finishing up the mounting and printing of the electronics bay. I printed four versions, because each one, had incorrect hole spacing, and other similar issues. I finally got it perfected, so the stepper wire fits through its hole perfectly, the esp32 grips onto the mount, with the correct amount of grip to hold it in place, without many screws, and the usb wire connects to the esp32 easily. I also cadded the electronics bay case, which has the open door star tracker printed on it, with silver sharpie to highlight it well.
DEVLOG 006 I worked on the code for the controller app. It is very complicated, and it took me some time to understand it and the way that the code functions. I specifically added the slewing and position functions, along with it updating the position right when the webpage is opened, so that if the tracker is running and you exit and come back to the page, it saves it. Finally, I still have to add the night mode function to change the colors and fix the general html css. I also did a test run the night that I finished this slewing code, with my Olympus OMD EM10 camera, at roughly 24mm zoom, and using the program called Camera Control, made for Olympus cameras. I was able to fully remotely operate the entire rig with my laptop using the program and my phone for the tracker. I got around 30 minutes of 20-second exposures, with very good tracking and not much error at all. I likely could have gotten up to 30-second subs, but decided to just test it out. I sadly did forget to take dark or bias frames, so the final image has many hot pixels, and bad streaking, but the total image has many stars in it. I hope to also add a wedge that lifts the camera out of the angle, allowing me to aim it better to zenith, and towards the south, where sagitarrius and the milky way core is. After implementing all of these, final features, and completing the whole program, I hope to take the rig out to a nearby park, and get up to an hour of good exposure on the sagitarrius area of the milky way, without any of the house lights, and also take flat frames as well.
DEVLOG 007 I worked on the CAD model for the wedge design of the camera mount. Finally then, to continue to wrap up this project, I will finish the GitHub page, write the assembly and code instructions, and then do some rigorous final accuracy and periodic error testing, really pushing it to the limit of what focal length and how long exposures it can get.
DEVLOG 008 I worked on a large portion of the main program, which is nearing completion now. The Arduino code is up to 500 lines, with the HTML page being around 200 lines of it.
FINAL DEVLOG 009! I finished up the Google Sheet and the final edits of the CAD and code for publication. This involved finalizing the details of the code and just general small detail editing, mostly on the GitHub page. I also spent a long time filming and editing the demo video, which is not being counted for this. I also did lots of testing on this rig, and got around 30 minutes of exposure using the tracker on themilky way, so get some actual truthful validation that this tracker works. This time is also not being counted for this.

Hello! Thanks to all of the people at Stardance for encouraging teens to make all of these amazingly cool projects!...
