My first time coding in HTML! I don’t have that much of a clue what I’m doing, but I’m learning, and it actually seems relatively simple so far. Since I love chess, that’s what I’m doing. I understood <p>, <h#>, <img>, <a href> and the main structure. Figuring out styles was harder as there are so so sooooooooo many of them, but we are progressing. This is gonna be fun project!
So I worked on the second guide of this tutorial. It was a bit more challenging but overall easy. I now have a top bar, a background, and a clock. I was trying to format the top bar properly which took a lot of time and I still didnt figure it out . I wanted to shift the ChessOS and time a bit to the right but margin and padding made the top bar smaller or bigger, and other things didnt work, but it’s fine, im not dissapointed with that. I also don’t like how the word science is a bit unreadable because of the shard but ykw its fine.
So I got to point where I have no clue whats happening. It’s fine - I knew I’d get there somewhere, so this where we stop for today. It was the part with the CSS file and class names and a lot of things I dont understand. It’s been a hard day. On new things I’ve done include a draggable top bar, and an opening and closing welcome screen, very basic.
So despite it being a new day, I have 0 clue what’s going on with that style.css … So I decided to just ditch it From what I understood it’s basically an optimization but who needs that anyways it’s on the cloud so it ain’t taking up my storage space anyways. But basically I’d assign a class and everything goes haywire. I’m sure I’ll be fine without it and if I’m not I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. After ditching, I did my welcome screen, made it draggable only at the top, and added a closing. Haven’t got to the minimize maximize yet so another bridge.
“You have to know the rules before you can break them” I believe this is the saying. Well how fun that I’m already breaking them with almost zero coding experience So the guide was talking about selecting icon deselecting icon and it didn’t make sense. So instead of manning up and spend probably another 10 hours figuring out, I went to what already works, like the welcome screen, and did the same function there. Well I am progressing bit by bit . I now have a functional notes app, after its propertions kept getting scewed for a long time. So now that it works, I will not be touching it’s code for the remainder of this project … until I have to add minimize/maximize buttons oh well. And yeah I also made the top bar for the welcome screen a bit larger
Progress!!! After taking a break from this becoming more informed about html and javascript, I added a <iframe> where you can play a chess bot! 🤖 Very cool. It also took a surprisingly small amount of time to complete. It overall worked more smoothly and had less bugs. I also changed some font colours for the other things, and then I think I add one more app and call it a day for WebOS1, and collect my ( ), start racking up hours, and getting my sticker
WOWW ITS WORKING!!!! I added a terminal that is functioning and it was on the first try after a heap of code. Lets go. Imma add a gallery of all my trophies just to flex 💪 and then imma submit this cus I meet the requirements (which I already think I do) and get my 50 stardust .
Nearly there!!!! I added the minimize and maximize buttons (really minimize is basically just closing the window but keeping the icon act like its selected; not that hard)
IT’S DONE!!!! I added the window with a trophy gallery, WEBOS1, ready to get shipped. I finished the build, also using the Hack Club API now, say hello to Assistocrat! Will finish the README now. It’s also deployed to a website, so you can check it out.
So, I got flagged for AI use, and I’m pretty sure it’s just a misunderstanding, because I didn’t use any to actually MAKE the project, so I’m assuming using the Hack API as PART of the project counts as AI, so I’ve updated the AI usage decalaration, and let’s see how it goes!

Devlog 1: Arm Basically instead of being normal and finishing my WebOS, I decided to Start yet another Hardware project because they are funnier! Basically I wanna build some sort of Claw Arm with Servo Motor cuz on paper it looks cool! So i spent some time doing some sketches and CADing the general parts of the arm. I wanna also try using an ESP32 and the ESP NOW protocol to control with an ESP based controller! But for now i still need to finish and polish the CAD model
DevLog 2: More Segments More Servos Basically Just did a bit more work, aka another segment and the claw! Lowk been having a lot of fun figuring out how im gonna wire all of this but overall its been fun! Now im working on making the design lighter and trying to make more compact
Devlog 3: Confusion Basically this hour was just me figuring out ways to route the cables in order for them not to tangle. So now im trying to mkake a design similar to a construction crane where it is mostly hollow so i have space to pass the clabes through the middle. its still kinda ugly ngl but i still have time
Devlog 4: Black and More Basically i started to strip everything in order to make it extremely light. Also made it Black cuz it looks better. And added support for Brass Inserts.
Devlog: More Cutting Basically just gutted the last segment so now everything weights less than 500 grams i still need to redo the base and figure a way to nop snap the cables as they go from the claw to the base
Devlog End: The End I think its finally done This Devlog was just me basically assuring everything was correct and making a piece to slide on my desk to lock the arm. Besides that I just need to make the repository and thats the end. Also Added the Knight and Hornet into the ARM
Devlog 1-2: Controller and Headache Basically today I had my school presentation/reunion so with my very normal sleep schedule I had to go to school without sleeping so during the day I had a horrible headache so i couldnt do much today. But besides that I basically start to build the raw shape of the controller. It will have 6 joysticks that each control a different servo and will communicate to the Arm using ESP-NOW.

I still wanna add some hollow knight details to make it more exciting! The antenna is made to slid onto the little bump on the top of the controller body so it can be printed separately
Devlog 3-2: Controller and GitHub Done. Dont have much to say tbh just did the repo and thats and controller and thats it
Devlog 4-2: Naming and Repo Basically named all the parts for the Arm and Controller and Pushed everything to the repo. Also worked on export everything and taking pictures...

Just started working on the Hackpad mission. So far, I only have built the guide version of the PCB, no case, no code. I have had troubles with drawing the lines, or at least I think so because the blue lines for me were touching the blue circles, but not in the image provided in the guide, but I don’t think it’s an issue. And drawing the rectangle in edge.cuts, I don’t even know if that part is properly done. tomorrow I will be checking if everything’s correct, then build a custom version of the PCB (haven’t decided what to add yet) and hopefully build the case as well.
Somehow it took me a while to figure out how to round up the edges of the pcb to give it a cleaner look. After figuring out how to do it i found out it was actually pretty simple, takes a few seconds max.
I have little to no idea what im doing. Finished building the schematic, added led lights, learned what “vcc” means. Started building the pcb but the wiring is very unstructured. ran the drc and have 37 errors because i think that theres no clearance for the leds so i have to fix that tomrorow but besides that everything should be fine
just troubleshooted today and realized the errors i was getting in drc about leds dont need to be fixed. prob gonna start building the case tomorrow
still havent started building the case, yesterday i realized the switches and diodes and leds werent exactly lined up so i fixed it using chatgpt because i couldnt quite understand the grid system and how to use the features of the grid. just asked chatgpt to provide the x and y coordinates
I have finally finished the case and the pcb, but unfortunately had to use AI to build the case for positions/coordinates of some stuff and with screws because fusion360 is really confusing and i recorded basically 1 hour 30 minutes of me making no progress with building a case because i couldnt figure out controls and google wasnt really helpful, plus im not really sure the exact rules of what is allowed for me to record using lapse or not so i kept pausing every few minutes. i did learn a lot about building using AI. I am now moving onto the firmware
Finished making the firmware, the github repo and everything needed to ship the project....

Also published our previous spyglass addition as a standalone mod live on CurseForge & Modrinth ! Took this much Time as implementing new mechanics in vanilla villagers were tough and full of debugging so at last created a new entity with same model and most of it was learning creating 3d models 🫡 Breakdown Town Guard Model : Started learning developing 3d models so its a basic model inspired from KCD just starting so its gonna be improved Interactive Talking Tavern Villagers : Added an overhead comic-style speech bubble system with custom audio dialogs (.ogg) for greetings, being attacked, and drawing weapons near them! Kept normal villagers vanilla so the tavern locals feel unique. Ambient Tavern Banter : Seated tavern folks periodically gossip about beer prices, weather, blacksmith rates, and suspicious adventurers. Intelligent Sitting AI : Tavern villagers now seek out benches, sit down, face adjacent tables, and stay seated naturally before standing up to roam around. Connecting Furniture : Added modular Tavern Benches and Tables with dynamic multi-block connectivity (single, left, middle, right parts). Clean Dismount & Sit Heights : Calibrated sit heights for both players and NPCs, plus added smart floor dismount detection so you never clip or sink into furniture. (Also enabled sitting on vanilla stairs & slabs!) Gambling Mini-game Prep : Added the Gambling Stool and functional Gambling Table (currently refining the model & mechanics). Really took vanilla spyglass to a new level and made unnecessary additions to previous weapon- slingshot. Imma bundling this spyglass addition into a separate mod - Insight Glass, u can checkout at Modrinth . Its a client side mod(under review at time of posting) and is made for vanilla, for its usage in my ULTIMATE mod, its gonna be modified and implemented with more stats and new item. Changelog Added- Spyglass Creature tracking via ray casting in vanilla spyglass(will make custom spyglass for this). Also made a custom but simple HUD Overlay to display stats. Detailed stats along with armor(showing dmg reduction too), hp, effective hp(combined with armor), owner name for all mobs and jump height and speed for horses. HP have dynamic progress bar too. Glowing boundaries as the spectral arrows give but w different colors, red for aggressive mobs, white for neutral, green for passive and pink for tamed ones. Miniature 3d rendered portrait of creature along with its armor and held item.(had to check almost every creature from ghast to tadpole to make everything fit in frame😖) Spyglass Zoom ranging from 0.5x to 2.0x. Can detect creatures within 100 blocks. 🫡 Can represent model of any player too along with creatures from any Mod. Updated Now pebbles thrown from slingshot can destroy crops, grass, flowers and similar items while travelling in air.(Extraaa Realism🗣️) Now Poison Pebble is obtainable from ground having a chance of 30% of being a poison pebble instead of normal one. Ancient Craft- Devlog 2 Summary Idk how to tell😭but porting from fabric to others like neoforge is painful . It can be multiple drops too(btw Poison pebble name is so weird to me, please suggest a good one) Now one can throw vegetables too from slingshot 🫡specifically beetroot, potato, carrot and poisonous potato, ofc poisonous one has special effects Now can also throw clay ball, snow ball too. Now pebbles can break glass windows, not the tinted ones(Double Extraaa Realism 🗣️) Im open to suggestions, help to make this a popular one and any suggestion for name of poison pebble, its model is there in my previous devlog, the one with lush cave texture. Btw this wasn’t all i done as i m making a server type thing where users can actually test my mod without any setup and directly on browser so i will soon update when it will be done!
Ancient Craft - Making City’s Tavern 🍻 (Devlog #3) Summary Started working on a gigantic city, firstly making its heart - the Tavern 🍻 Did environment upliftment with huge villager additions, custom AI, and props. What’s Next Will finish the dice gambling mini-game mechanics and build a full tavern structure before moving on to the rest of the city. Will also add tabletop props like mugs, food, or Farmer’s Delight integration!...

What’s Board-Like? Board-Like is [like excpected from the name] a rogue-like multiplayer board(style) videogame developped on Godot. The game loop idea is: Quick(1-3 minutes) turn-based rounds where players throw dice, step on tiles, use their cards(to help themselves or punish others) and gain levels The player that crosses the finish line first chooses one of 3(???) power-ups to keep through the whole game, and next round starts. The power ups can have synergies and different rarities. That’s where the “rogue-like” part comes in, every game will feel completely different depending on what power ups you and your friends choose! Well, who wins? The player with the highest level by the end of /to be determined/ rounds! You can gain levels from(but not only!) stepping on special tiles or triggering your power-ups. But it’s not that simple! Levels are very dynamic, you can(and probably will have to) lose, sacrifice or trade your levels in order to obtain even more! Try different tactics and anticipate the next rounds. Oh, and also… ROUND MODIFIERS! Cool, no? The state of the game. I started the developpement in Summer 2025, but quickly abandoned it to priorotize school(and videogames obv). Right now it looks insanely ugly, but also lacks 90% of all mentioned features above. It has 3 different working cards to use(return to start, reroll dice, and change any tile on the board to a random one), 4 tiles(tp to next tile, level up, magnet, and get a card ). No power-ups yet, round modifiers or even an end to the game. So no chaos, no fun, no game. Plans Well, there’s a lot of work to do. I am planning to add everything i mentioned in the first section, plus adding more music, making a complete visual overhaul, and the hardest for me: online multiplayer. I have never done anything with online multiplayer and that’s where i think I’ll meet the most issues. I have no idea where to start with it so if you have any tips feel free to share. Devlog #3 - Screen issue fixed and a new card! Hey everyone, no updates for a little while cause i was out in Belgium to see The Odyssey in IMAX 70MM, truly a unique experience. Anyway, in this update i fixed a weird screen issue which was cutting off part of the screen on smaller displays. Here’s the full changelog: Added: New card: Sleeping Pill. You may sacrifice one level to make another player(or yourself!!!) skip their next turn. Changed: Fixed screen scaling issues Multiple small code fixes
Devlog #4 Hi! Bringing another update to Board-Like. Now all tiles and power-ups have “weight”, which is their chance to appear. This allowes me to do a much more balanced game where better items appear rarer than others. Also added a new very cool tile, and a couple of power-ups, one of them being a reference to a little something😉 Changelog Added: 📄 New tile: Blank Tile . This tile is blank at the start of the round, whenever a player steps on it, it changes to the player’s color. When current round changes, the player who last stepped on Blank Tile gets an additional power-up. 🟢New power-up: Caesium-137. Player gains 1 level each time they pass through the portals(from any side)(stacking) 🎲New power-up: Another dice. Player now rolls 1 more dice(stacking) ✖️A cancel button when using certain cards Changed: Power-ups now have different weight(chance to appear): – 🦇Vampire: 20 – 🍀The Lucky Clover: 30 – 🎲Another dice: 10 – Caesium-137: 10 Tiles now have different weight(chance to appear): – ➡️Skip To Next: 40 – Level up: 40 – 🧲Magnet: 20 – 🃏Chest with cards: 20 – 📄Blank Tile: 5 🌟Choice menus(for example when choosing powers) now have a pop-up animation. 💊Fixed a lot of Sleeping Pill card related bugs.
Devlog #5 - Tooltip! Hi! A pretty cool update today! Made a useful tooltip, whenever you hover over a card, a tile or even a power, a tooltip will pop-up to explain what this item does!(see attached video). Also added taxes to the game(beware the IRS) Changelog : Added: 🖱️A tooltip for cards, powers and tiles displaying their name, type and a description 🪙New card: Taxes. Everyone except you looses 1 level for each power-up and card they have.(Level can’t go below 0) Changed: 🤞Bonuses and cards now use the weight system for calculating chances to appear, similar to powers. Improved game sctructure: – 🧑💼Levels are now managed by the LevelManager node(before it was all over the place)
Devlog #6 - Higher definition textures and updated tooltip. Hello! A quick update focused on visuals. (If you want to know about Board-Like, check out Devlog #0) Changelog: Higher definition textures for the dice button and stat bars Randomize card is now called Rainbow Paint Randomize card has a new texture Tooltip’s border changes color depending on the type of object the cursor is hovering over Tooltip’s text is now centered Tooltip now also works when you hover over other player’s cards on stat bars.
A new portal texture👀
Devlog #7 - ARROWS! YAY! Hello everyone, worked on tiles and cards that concern arrows (the ones that make you advance or retreat). Also a bit of visual work. Check out Devlog #0 to learn about Board-Like Changelog: Added: New tile: Back. Oppositely to Next, it makes the player who stepped on it to retreat to the previous tile. Weight: 20 New card: Crossroad. Change any tile to Next or Back. Weight: 15 Changed: Completely changed the background’s palette, looks alot better imo Next got a new texture to match Back New portal animation and texture More work into the game’s internal structure improvement. Mostly concerning conditions this time around.
Devlog #8 Hi, took a little break after trying to convert some of the UI from pixel-art to vectorial graphics. (i ended up only changing the stat-bars,they look alot cleaner now). Changelog: Added: New card: Air Conditionning. Set any level condition on a tile of you choice. Changed: Changed the way conditions are set for tiles(a complete rework incoming, i want later rounds to have harsher conditions) New stat-bar texture Fixed a bug which caused the game to crash at the end of the round if multiple power-ups were given out
Devlog #9 - Tiers Changed the weight system to the tier system. Every power-up, tile and card now have their own tier which decides how often they appear. Also added a Shop tile where you can buy power-ups and cards in exchange for levels. Changelog: Added: New tile: Shop. When you step on it, a menu pops-up with 3 random card and/or power-ups for a set price(based on their tiers). Changed: Improved certain card’s textures Updated the weight-based calculation method to use the new tier system. 1 being the most common one and 5 the rarest. Higher conditions now appear in later rounds. For example in round 1 most tiles don’t require any level, but on round 5 most common condition are levels 2-3 meaning you’ll need at least these levels to access most tiles.
Devlog #10 Hi, no devlog for over a week, i got a bit tired of fixing all the bugs. But i’m back in the game and today’s devlog is mainly about VFX. Changelog Added: New power-up: Safety net. Increases minimal level by 1. New power-up: Assets. Gain 2 levels if you have 3 cards in the end of the round. Visual effect for pressing the roll button. Visual effect for stepping on tile
Devlog #11 Hello everyone! A small update mostly fixing bugs. Also added a new mechanic. Changelog: Added: When a player gets stuck in a Next-Back loop, a sound effect plays and he skips his turns until the end of the round.(Combined with the Cross Road card this can be used to set traps). Changed: Fixed a bug that caused the power-up choice menu to pop up multiple times simultaneously at the end of the round. Fixed the Shop tile not working properly Fixed a bug that caused the first player to take two turns in a row at the start of the game.
Devlog #12 Changed the roll button and added a proper anymation instead of a label changing numbers. Also made a few other tweaks and bug fixes. Added: A title on top of choice menus indicating which player is choosing Roll button animation Changed: New roll button texture Fixed the bug that caused the game to crash if a player picked a new power-up when they already have the maximum. Fixed the 6th power-up not displaying correctly Removed the label displaying the roll
MORE DICE Decided to add an animation for additional dice you can obtain through the Dice power-up(up to 6). This also fixed that bug that crashed the game when it tried to find the texture for the main die with more than 6 dots. Here’s a showcase of what it looks like with all 6 additional dice
Devlog #13 Vectorized the confirm button, looks alot nicer now. But most importantly added a debug console to ease testing. It has a bunch of commands such as add_card, set_level, etc…(see attachement)
Devlog #14 - ROUND MODIFICATORS An exciting update today! Round modificators! Now every round except the first one will have a randomely chosen round modificator which can affect your strategy while playing. Changelog : Added: Round modificator mechanic New round modificator: Action Time. No Next and Back tiles appear on the board New round modificator: Half dice. All dice rolls are divided by 2(rounded to the lower number) New round modificator: Double XP. All players gain double levels from all sources. New round modificator: No conditions. All tiles have no conditions, meaning their effects wiil be active no matter the player’s level. New debug console command: mod. It changes curent round’s modificator Changed: The tooltip will now change position when out of screen so it’s visible Fixed a bug that caused tooltip to not show up sometimes on the stat-bars for power-ups and cards. Slightly changed the confirm button and roll button’s positions
Devlog #15 Hii! Added a pause menu and settings(you can only change the volume and toggle the console on/off for now). Also there are little cogs in the background of settings instead of dice! I plan to keep expanding already existing content for a bit and then get to making online mode work
Devlog #16 Hi! I realized I unfortunetely don’t have enough time to complete my project with an online mode, so I’m gonna ship it with one-device mode only. I’ll do a couple of updates polishing the game and adding a bit of content. Fully finishing the game is gonna be done outside of Stardance later. Changelog Added: Players now can choose their nicknames and colors before the game starts New tile: Again. Anyone stepping on it throws the dice again A little crown now appears next to the winner’s nickname at the end of the game Changed: Players are now sorted by level at the scoreboard Various bug fixes
Devlog #17 - Last before shipping Hey there! No updates for a while, i decided to fix last bugs and add a bit of QoL features brefore shipping. I have been doing this for almost 2 weeks so i don’t really remember everything i did, this devlog will probably not be full. Changelog Added: New tile: Inverted shop. You can sell your items for levels Players can now set their nicknames, icons and colors before starting the game An option to go back to main menu after finishing a game instead of being softlocked on the scoreboard scene More back buttons instead of ESCAPE to improve itch.io QoL Changed: Main menu background changed to an original one instead of the one i donwloaded from the internet Music now plays in all scenes

Board-Like Board-Like is a 2-4 player roguelike videogame where you compete with your friends to get the biggest level in a set amount of rounds. Here’s a quick description of the game loop: -Players throw dice and step on tiles giving buffs/debuffs on quick 1-3 minute rounds. They can save, sacrifice, sell their levels in orded to sabotage other players or gain more levels in the long run thanks to active cards, tiles and passive power-ups gained by the winner of the last round. After a set amount of rounds(5-20), the winner is the player with the highest level. Board-like is fun because of how many combinations you can have with multiple cards, tiles, power-ups and round modifiers making every game you play unique and interesting! You can try it out here: https://kir-kos.itch.io/board-like...

Devlogs:
Started work on the LLH(Language learning helper) by designing the circuit. It consists of an esp32, connected to an MFRC522, which is a nfc/rfid reader. To write and read the words on the nfc tags that you stick on items. By clicking the button, the translation of the word in the foreign language should appear on the lcd i2c screen.
writing code for the llh in order for the llh to read information off the nfc stickers, the stickers should contain the information, in this case the words. I have coded before in c++, but this really had me stumped. I had to watch a couple of videos and do some research before understanding how most of the code for writing information works. I think that what I have coded could work, however I am not satisfied and will continue tomorrow. I also read that you should do something regarding authentication, which I have no idea how to do. All in all, I think today was really productive, since I learned how to kind of code for the MFRC522, more tomorrow
Finally completed the code for writing on nfc stickers with the MFRC522. Started by modifying the code I made yesterday, but I realised that it just wasnt functional, so I scraped it and found a perfect tutorial on yt, that helped me understand how the coding of the MFRC522 works. By using the source code as a basis, I wrote a working code for writing a english word and, (in this instance) its german translation on a nfc sticker, (blocks 4&5). I am really happy with my progress today, and with what I learned today, I think writing the main LLH code will be easier.
Started the main code for the llh Wrote the code that will read the words off the NFC stickers. I am pretty happy about the progress since this got done pretty fast. Tomorrow, I will complete the rest of the code (LDC, buttons).
I completed the main code for the llh today I basically completed the main code for the llh today, I was pretty pleased with the code I had written, until I compiled it and a lot of errors showed up. Most of them were just mistakes I made when writing the code. The rest was the lcd i2c library not working. Despite that, I think the code will work great and i am really proud. I will look into the i2c library tomorrow
redid the circuit in wokwi I needed to remake it since it was not properly saved. Now its time to make the case it cad which really scares me and so I researched a bit abt it.
Started working on the 3d case for the llh I had no idea where to start from, and to be honest, I was afraid to start. I watched a tutorial, that suggested openscad, which while seems cool, just didnt work for me. I instead chose onshape. While this thing ,might not look like much, it took me a fair while and i am really proud. Despite now having much time with school, i will try to finish the case within the week to finally ship. i hope ill get better at cad and make something that actually looks pleasing to the eye.
Made for progress on the case Today I added the esp and the mfrc552 in the sketch, (the lcd and the button I will have to do tomorrow). The size is kind of, funky. Once completed it will be 15 10cm (apprx. 6 4 inch.) and will be kind of flat, and with the addition of the handle, I am not sure how I will look holding the printed case irl. I hope to get this done by Sunday, but we’ll see. I am kind of proud of myself.
Made significant progress on the case today I mapped out every other part and finally got it into the 3rd dimension. I decided that making threads was too hard for my first project, so I will make the holes a bit smaller than the screws, so that the will be able to screw on easily (hopefully). Additionally, I will need to add a hole on the side, since i decided to add a switch to turn it one and off.
Almost completed the case!!! Today I finished the bottom and top part of the case. Only thing left before this project is finished is adding a way to connect the 2 parts, adding the handle, and an opening for the switch. In contrast with how it looked yesterday, i am much more proud today. (almost done :))
FINALLY completed the case!! After a lot of work I finally completed the case for the llh. The project might be pretty much ready for funding. Although it is an issue, I guess, that the words can only be up to 16 characters (size of each block), I might find a way of doubling that tomorrow like using 2 blocks and that Ill submit it!!...

I’ve got something very rough right now. Gone through the guide so I know the basics I’m gonna probably add a few more sections and a few bells and whistles probably
Ok so I created the basic layout, and using a screenshot of my earlier code edited and blurred. I know I need to change the colour of the text to make it more clear, and I think I wanna add a contact me page at the bottom or something.
So i added a contact me page, used a bum email obviously. The rest of the websites text uses the same white font colour for the most part, but not sure it suits it the best would love suggestions on what to change it to.
Finally deployed the website had a bit of an issue cuz it was in a folder and I had to bring it out to the main branch. Simply copied the files though so its all the same inside the website data folder

Quicker and more secure connection Now the app is waiting for the device to connect, so you don’t need to run it if the device is running. But if you do it like this, it can find it and immediately get you into the main menu. Export and import of the modes So I added a new feature, and with this you can export your new mode and then you can share it with a friend or something like this, and he can import it and use it. LoL, I wasn’t working much on the app. Hackpad firmware Added support for rotary encoder So because for now on my Hackpad there is one rotary encoder and I want to use it, I added support for it, and now you can do: setting volume, scrolling, zooming. I know it’s not a lot, but I am gonna make it more. Mode setting So now, because I added the rotary encoder, you don’t need to press a button to change the mode. Now you can just rotate the encoder to easily set the mode. Added new functions I added more customizable functions like macros, even whole sequences. Repaired bugs So I repaired some bugs so the system is most likely to not fail, but if it does, it can go into error mode, and then you open Notepad or something like this and press the rotary encoder button, and it’s gonna type what failed. So I think this is all of the main things. I actually don’t remember every new thing, but I think these are the most important things. It is mainly based on two parts: Hackpad firmware — The firmware is based on CircuitPython. Its main purpose is to act as a HID keyboard, handle configuration from the PC app, and communicate over serial. Everything works directly on the Hackpad without depending on external software. PC app — This is the main reason why I made this project. It is basically a configurator for your Hackpad. It communicates with the Hackpad over serial, and all configuration is saved directly on the Hackpad itself, so the Hackpad can work completely without the PC app. This project was originally inspired by my HackPad project . What does this prototype have? For this first prototype, I mainly focused on testing the key features — and they actually work! Here are the features it currently has: HID — One of the main purposes of a Hackpad is being recognized by the PC as a keyboard, and this works! For now, it can send simple text without special symbols, as well as macros. Mode selection — I want to support different modes for different sessions. You can switch between modes using a button, and the current mode is displayed on the OLED display. Serial communication — This is another important part of the system. The PC app communicates with the Hackpad using serial communication. CLI — The prototype currently only has a terminal-based interface, but it already works! I built the Hackpad prototype on a breadboard, which makes testing and changing things really easy. :3 What do I want to do next? I think this is pretty cool for a prototype, but it still has a long way to go before it becomes something actually polished. Here are some things I want to work on next: Fix some issues — The current system still has quite a few bugs and problems, so I need to fix those first. GUI — Yeah, the CLI is cool, and it will still be available, but a GUI should make configuring the Hackpad much easier and more elegant. Hardware configuration — Right now, this prototype is designed specifically for my Hackpad. If I want to make PadeXa properly open-source and usable by other people, I need to make the hardware configuration system more flexible so that it can support different Hackpad designs. So yeah, I think that’s all for this Devlog! If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions, feel free to leave a comment. I’d love to hear what you think! And hopefully, I’ll see you in the next Devlog. Love u :3 Below you can see some previews of the app"}]...

devlog #12: added a news app, now making apps in my OS is becoming progressively easy, anyways thats it for tonight also might add a couple more apps and then i’ll move on to the files part:P
devlog #13: okay so today was HELL i made a files app, i tried my best and did lots of research but i just couldnt find any tutorials that showed how to connect the files file to the html ones so i just kept it as a seperate file feature that works normally but lowkey doesnt even control the desktop apps and files, im sorry yall it was just too difficult
devlog #14: okay so, i shipped my project for the second time but i got changes requested, for this specific page and in this devlog im just letting you guys know ima work real hard on this feature and finish it by tonight then ill add more apps and we’ll see what we make after that but it wont be easy so wish me luck:)
devlog #15: bro im so mad, they didnt count ALL my work im actually so mad ive been coding for 7 hours now and on stardance only 1 counts barely even one i hate this and everything about this omg and iit literally even shows the hackatime as 43hrs LOGGED, anyways i made a settings feature i guess its functional
devlog #16: LESS GOO I GOT MY TIME BACK also guys i made the apps go light aswell, i hate light mode but someone suggested it on my reviews so i guess here u go
devlog #17: I finally fixed the functionality of my settings, the apps in the “apps” section can now also change color, the display can change sizes and the clock can be switched between 24 hour clock to the 12 hour clock one! however the 12 hour clock one is the default so.. we’re done with the settings feature tho! now it’s time to add more apps
devlog #18: so the code is getting longer and longer which is making it harder to code, if anyone has any tip pls let me know and also, i learned how to make a weather app so next devlog ill show the full product, im also planning on adding a snake game and maybe a bit more? idk yet
devlog #19: I vibecoded and made my javascript a LOT shorter, i tried doing the same for my css but it couldnt work so ima live with it, anyways i watched 2 youtube tutorials, i made my snake game and styled it, and my weather app but its still not working for some reason, maybe ill use AI to debug cause its frustrating me i tried everything but first im going to wait for my friend to respond to see if he can help, also going to add a car game suggestion by a very talented person👀👀👀👀 anyways im going to sleep now cause im tired i havent slept all day, ill code later and for the record i only made the games on a seperate files i havent connected them to my OS yet
devlog #20: now I finished setting up the snake game, i still have problems with my weather API setup, ill fix it by the next devlog, but i did listen to a review and made a feature in settings functional hehe anyways not much intel in this devlog other than that, going to be adding more soon! look forward to seeing either a terminal or a car racing game next devlog:)
devlog #21: OH MY GOD I WAS TRYING TO ORGANIZE MY FILES BY PUTTING THEM IN FOLDERS AND I LOST EVERYTHING HOLY COOKED
Ships:
Amateur0S This is an OS inspired by Edex UI, a UI that makes you feel like Mr.Robot hehe, it’s a combination of Mr.Robot and the amateur tech guy’s color scheme, now it only has draggable windows and a working clock, and also only one calculator app, but it falls with the requirements:) I’m really proud of how I executed the design and how things look like right now, either way I will be working on resizeable windows and the settings and more apps for ship 2, I really owe it all to Bro Code he’s goated he literally taught me half the stuff you see in this operating system!:D
AmateurOS This is an operating system website made with the amateur tech guy color scheme and also lots of effort:) it is unfinished sure, but I’m just shipping for the mission part, I have spent hours on this project and I really hope people rate it well, cause honestly I’m trying my hardest to show people that I am capable of making good websites, the settings part is unfinished but that’s for the 3rd ship. Please rate well, and I hope you like this project:D
AmateurOS:Ship 3 AmateurOS is a web operating system that is fully functional and has the basic needs of a human being, it will get more apps on the last ship and more bugs will be debugged, but for now, i’m trying to see what the reviewers think of it, the main challenges i faced was debugging and def organizing my files, as you can clearly see from my github repo it is very messy. My main reason of shipping this NOW, is because I lost all of my work while organizing the website, so yes there will be more, but I need to make sure I don’t lose progress every now and then, if it wasn’t for github I would’ve lost everything and quit tech, genuinely. Tho I have to say I am very proud of how this is turning out to be like, I never expected to be so capable:D...

Apple Music takes any storefront, and Kopuz is now EUPL-1.2. Highlights Recently Added means recently added. The row was the alphabetical album list read backwards, so it showed the tail of your alphabet forever. Albums now rank by when their music arrived, stamped per file from the filesystem while the library is scanned, and the library’s own date added sort reads the same stamp. Rescan once after upgrading to fill it in. Shuffle and repeat clear their highlight. Dioxus merges an inline style instead of replacing it, so the empty “off” style could never unset the accent color and the button stayed lit for the rest of the session, with only the tooltip telling the truth. Both toggles carry their state in the class attribute now. Apple Music takes any storefront. Pick one or type the country code yourself, validated before it saves. Apple serves far more regions than the shortlist, and the storefront API is gated behind a developer account. EUPL-1.2. Kopuz was MIT, and is now licensed under the European Union Public Licence 1.2. Fixes Unsynced albums asked Subsonic for the wrong cover and fell back to an uncached request, so covers came back soft, and the three dots menu opened in the wrong place. Android is back and shippable, two new sources (Apple Music, Nextcloud), lyrics grew depth blur and instrumental breaks, and remote tracks start faster. The app identity finished its move to moe.kopuz.kopuz , so your data directory moves with it on macOS and Windows. Highlights Android builds again. arm64 APK on the releases page (API 24+), signed release job that fails a tagged build rather than shipping unsigned, F-Droid recipe, just android-release . Phone UI too: two line track rows, swipe gestures (up for fullscreen, left/right for next/prev), notification shuffle and repeat buttons, media permission flow, a keepalive waker so the player task keeps turning while hidden, WebView based YouTube deciphering, and an AMOLED theme (#634). Apple Music. Browser sign in, catalog and library browsing, favorites, playlists, downloads, word timed lyrics, per server storefront and language. Playback is hand rolled Widevine using a CDM borrowed from a browser you already have installed (never shipped with Kopuz); Android goes through MediaDrm . Streams decrypt progressively instead of pulling the whole file first (#455, closes #404). Nextcloud over WebDAV. App password auth. No music API there, so the library is read off the tree: folder is album, level above is artist. Listings carry no duration, so the scanner range requests the file head. Per server library folders with a PROPFIND picker and autodetect. Covers go embedded, then sidecar, then the preview endpoint. Use the Subsonic source if your instance runs the Music app (#629). Lyrics. Depth of field blur with a strength slider, synthesized instrumental breaks that fill left to right, the active line stays centered, changing songs no longer reads as a scroll, tab switches no longer desync, and a manual offset that auto fills from the backend’s reported output latency (#643, #647, #648). Remote tracks start faster. HTTP clients are pooled across tracks instead of one handshake per song, and the next 512 KiB window prefetches once reading passes the middle of the current one (#634). Radio uses the server’s analysis. OpenSubsonic sonicSimilarity (AudioMuse on Navidrome) when advertised, song seeded getSimilarSongs otherwise, seed at the head of the queue, and a 90s budget since cold metadata agent lookups were timing out silently (#647, 15615f36). Untrusted paths. Offline filenames are SHA-256 derived, extensions restricted, downloads staged before publication. Deletion only touches direct children of the offline cache or canonical files under a configured library root. Now we are using automated builds with github actions! This one is mostly playlists and looks. Radio can start from a whole playlist now, the settings screen got rebuilt (prefer using top bar view in settings menu rather than cd if you are a linux user), and Kopuz can follow your wallpaper’s colors live. Releases finally ship proper packages for all three desktops. Highlights Radio from playlists: Sources can now seed a mix from an entire playlist instead of one track. YouTube Music does it first, and the button shows up on the playlist grid and the playlist page wherever a source supports it. YouTube liked music is also listed as a playlist of its own, so it gets the same treatment (#591, #592, #593). Matugen and pywal, live: Pick Matugen / Pywal (live) in Settings > Appearance and Kopuz recolors itself about half a second after the palette is regenerated. No restart. pywal needs nothing configured, matugen needs a small template. (#572). Settings rebuilt: The page is split up properly and there are now two layouts to choose from, CD (default) and top bar (#588). Helium for Spotify: Helium joins Chrome, Edge, Brave, Chromium, Vivaldi and Safari as a Web Playback SDK host. It needs Widevine pointed at manually; the README has the config (#574). Track numbers from tags: Album lists use the real metadata track number when there is one, instead of just counting rows (#581). Search in favorites: The favorites list filters as you type, with a proper no-results state (#587). Real release packages: One workflow now builds AppImage, DEB and RPM for Linux, a DMG for macOS, and EXE and MSI for Windows, with checksums. (probably no space will left for macos but eh) Fixes Selection bar was unreadable on light accents like Ayu Dark and Mirage (#599). Long album titles pushed the entire song list off screen (#580). I submitted this project last event too! It got waaay better than first time also i will ship everytime we publish new version from now on! This release is mostly cleanup and refactor work: a big code split across server, utils, sources, and the playback controller, native Windows cookie decryption for sign-in, assets baked into the binary, and a bunch of new translations. Highlights Native Windows cookie decryption. YouTube Music and SoundCloud sign-in now read browser cookies natively on Windows instead of going through the rookie crate (which is now off on Windows). Sign-in works without the third-party cookie reader. Assets are baked into the binary. CSS, fonts, and the favicon now ship inside the kopuz binary, so it doesn’t need any external files at runtime. Big refactor. Server and utils are split up, the source model, page runtimes, backend modules, and playback controller are all broken out, and audio init, playback parsing, and config views got reworked. Dependencies are deduplicated through a virtual manifest to get ready for publishing on crates.io. Features yt-music showcase refactor. Focus indicators on interactive elements that didn’t have them. Matroska audio content-types now map to the mka decode hint. CSS, fonts, and favicon embedded into the binary. Dropped panicky .unwrap() calls, added crate docs, and moved eprintln! over to tracing . Deduplicated shared deps via a virtual manifest to prep for publish. Added contributing guidelines. New locales: Dutch, Malayalam, Tamil, Filipino, and European Portuguese (pt-PT), plus an updated Indonesian one. Fixes ytdlp : give yt-dlp a valid stdin so downloads work on Windows. queue : don’t split the queue when shuffling. server : gate the rookie browser-cookie import to non-Windows. db : tolerate line-ending-only migration checksum differences. lyrics : drop negative cache TTL from 7 days to 1 day. styles : stop the console warnings from re-diffing the stylesheet.", "repo": "https://github.com/Kopuz-org/kopuz", "demo": "https://github.com/Kopuz-org/kopuz/releases"}]...

Making kopuz better this time huh?
we got youtube music support now!! with a lot of bug fixes
local metadata viewer and editor added
I worked on adding spotify but failed, same for apple music too but at least i added soundcloud to kopuz!!! This music player will be the best music player ever created for every platform user!
i added mini player and tray implementation for users!!
fixed fullscreen view, it was really poor and multimedia controls were so bad, i took the audio control to top right corner so it looks like apple music now.
made last touches with the contributor and made it ready to release! hopefully first release in stardance will be v0.7.0, who knows kopuz may become stable in stardance…
better album view in yt music, fixed search for yt music, discover menu is now better, any album available can now viewable. Also we have migrated to sqlite from json so the app became waaay faster and now there is no seperation between local and server now everything is in one place.
worked on adding librespot backend (kinda), since spotify isnt giving us any music or music data bytes we cant decode anything, so i made librespot to fetch the stuff in logged in profile and play via anon yt music backend with metadata matching, its still a pr but eh hopefully it will be good
fixed source selector part styling and with contributors we fixed login issue on windows, established ai policy, and a lot more!!
Added enhanced discord presence which now has the option to show the source of your music, also i added clear image cache and rescan buttons for easier image handling.
I reinforced ListenBrainz scrobbling because vaxry reported that it sucks, so apperantly it was half my issue and half LB’s issue because BTS listeners migrated to libre.fm and listenbrainz from last.fm. So scrobbling was a bit wrong in my side, so fixed that. Also im waiting for a contributor to add offline scrobbling ability which will fully fix this issue since it will cache listening and when the LB server is awake again it will dump scrobbles… Ah also now playing was a bit broken so i fully fixed it too, now the app has great logs for scrobble stuff…
Revised settings page for better understandability for users. Yeah so vaxry told me that settings menu sucks. So i made the components like this in the photo, easily understandable (idiotproofing)
Okay so, firstly i added list view to album and artist menu, its kinda a cheat for better performance since the images are getting smaller, users always complain about bad performance on higher resolutions so its a step against it, also i added highly customazible sorting options because it was a pr back then and the author of that pr couldnt reach to his pc so i took over his task, also not MPRIS and darwin now playing integration supports seeking, lastly i started on TIDAL integration because vaxry requested it .d
I added spotify support with Public API, since this is a big app, im afraid of using the illegal way, so for using the spotify integration there MUST be a browser which has widevine capability… Is it annoying? yes. But is it working? yes.
spotify support is postponed to v0.12.0, but uhh we got some solid stuff for v0.11.0 fullscreen got reworked, now with cover art backgrounds and a general cleanup pass added quick search so you can actually find your stuff fast custom UI font support, use whatever font you want redesigned the normal radio page radio-browser.info search, ICY now-playing metadata, and playlist resolution EQ now has 10 bands instead of the old setup auto-scroll pauses when you scroll manually, plus a sync button added Helium browser for browser sign-in app now checks if the media server is actually reachable instead of assuming it is added Swedish locale
all right, so i was like super bored and randomly started add stuff, so uhh we now have isolated local music libraries, so like if you have 2 different folders which contains different kinds of music and you dont want to mix it with your main library, i had that issue so added this option, also people were complaining about settings menu so i made exactly how they wanted, also when i woke up this morning i saw a discussion opened in the repo which said, “kopuz individually takes images of flac files” which is true, i didnt expect anyone with 5k songs to use this app .d Anyways i fixed that issue and the app got faster (i was so stupid while i was enabling individual image scanning).
so uhhh spotify integration is finally in master branch, people were just asking me when spotify when spotify and yeah its here, but for avoiding lawsuits i had to use public api which will give users some bad experience, but eh this can be used as “download your own music” propaganda, besides this i did some codebase cleanup and lil bug fixes
I was so busy last 5 days for interview project but, good news i passed it! I wasnt able to develop kopuz at that time but its over, right after interview arc i redesigned the settings menu for better visibility and this is not the only option you can make it constant topbar but the default is cd selector so cope with it .d
all right so i partially migrated CI/CD to self hosted ones because github actions SUCKS, also now Linux and Windows builds are made with github actions. Also added favorite, and 3 dots menu to fullscreen multimedia controller .d added search bar to favorites page, and i also made when listen from youtube music, discord presence will directly get the youtube music photo and doesnt fetch form musicbrainz, lastly some little bug fixes has made :3
All right new log is here, so i was really busy with my job but i def worked on kopuz besides that. Firstly i added version and commit id to general settings, added progress stuff like in youtube progress bar to http streamed musics. Did a little bit of codebase cleanup, fixed a lot of RTL issues and now i splitted configs from db and now they are toml configable (hjem supported).
I finally released android version again!! even its on google play store, also we did some improvements to the app. I started split daemon from the frontend, which will allow custom frontends soon, I dont have much photos to show and no long descrips because im too busy atm sorry .d we are mostly working on the backend currently.
All right im in the middle of splitting the daemon from frontend, get ready for the holy kopuzd, we may release an official tui version too!!
All right, so we got accepted to flathub and properly setted up our page, also now it releases on google play store properly too!!! I fixed some bugs and worked a lot for splitting daemon and frontend, hopefully it will be implemented soon. Lastly we switched to EUPL v1.2 license from MIT because i want to protect the daemon…
Eh i fixed some little bugs and reviewed prs, all these hours is just because i worked on daemon-frontend split i deployed the bugs fixed version for now, daemon is way harder than i expected thats why its taking sooooo long and too much effort. Fixed bugs are shuffle and repeat button werent updating their states but they now update .d
Ships:
I made kopuz music player with the maintainers!! Fixes ytdlp : give yt-dlp a valid stdin so downloads work on Windows. queue : don’t split the queue when shuffling. server : gate the rookie browser-cookie import to non-Windows. db : tolerate line-ending-only migration checksum differences. lyrics : drop negative cache TTL from 7 days to 1 day. styles : stop the console warnings from re-diffing the stylesheet.
kopuz v0.12.0 is out. this one’s got some solid stuff. added isolated local music libraries so separate folders stay separate instead of all blending into one big pile. settings page got a full revision, it needed it. the cover art loading is a lot faster now since we defer cover indexing until after the metadata scan, so big libraries scan way quicker. also local artwork scales properly per view so no more blurry thumbnails. trickiest part was keeping the library scan from lagging everything, that’s sorted now. to test: point it at a couple different music folders and watch them stay isolated, covers should load smooth and settings should feel cleaner. (warning, parallelization: so uhh if you have a big lib, when you scroll in album page it will hurt your cpu a little because of the rendering but dont worry its a one time thing .d)
v0.14.0 is here!!! Dots menus were getting clipped inside scrolling containers (#586). Fullscreen forgot the active tab when you hid and unhid the tabs panel (#585).
We released v0.16.0!!! Cancellation tombstones close the race where a worker finishing after a cancel re-registered the track (#650).
Two parts of the player stop lying to you: Recently Added lists what you actually added, and shuffle and repeat go dark when you switch them off. Brave’s newer packaging ships the browser as brave-origin , which cookie import could not find. Windows with an app-drawn titlebar resize from any edge or corner on Linux. Flathub and Google Play badges on the README....

It is created on the top of one of my previous project known as Study Operating System. It is consist of many tools. 3 core tools are “Was Calendar”, “Was To-Do List” and “Was Writer”. I have created it as an privacy first system. Here is a catch. The privacy protection can get changed depending on the system it is running. Example: If using Web-Version: There might be a analytic by the hosting provider and browser setting too. [But there is no analytic in the code. So, I haven’t added any analytic in the source.] & [The web site is hosted via GitHub pages]. If using the Source Code Directly: Now, here is no host provider analytic but be careful in browser’s setup. If using the app: I will talk about it after releasing the app. I would recommend be careful on where it is running. Because I have created is as privacy protected tool. But the system where it is running may change the protection level. And The web-version is complete and fully usable but I have released the web version for giving it a try. I haven’t added any analytic but there may be analytic present, since it is hosted on a server out side of my control. By using Study Operating Tool-Box, user can set up their, calendar, todo list at one place. There is a writer for writing and taking notes using plain text or markdown or stylus pen. There is a Built analytic (Not cloud website analytic); this analytic will give a usage dashboard to the user. If anyone is using it for study, then they can check their study time there and track progress too. I have also faced a funny problem while developing this. While it was in development I mistakenly deleted the entire repository from my device. Thus I lost my code. Luckily it was saved on GitHub, but that was a few update behind. But I have overcome that and finally shipped it. From my mistake I have learned to keep a always updated backup. In Study operating Tool-Box there are 5 icon I have designed by myself (not all icons). I designed those Icons during the previous project (Months ago). Initial Structure completed. This Tool will contain way more features than my previous study operating system (The base). Study Operating tool is a toolbox which contains necessary tools needed for study. Study operating tool is based on one of my previous project “Study Operating System”. The core features of Study operating tool: A feature rich To-Do list. A feature rich Calendar An writer with support txt, markdown and even stylus (Currently Under development) There will be more features than the above three.
Today I have just added a basic writer feature (UI/ Theme is still under development). Here are the feature the the writer. Supports text, markdown, mathematical formula and scientific writing structure (Subscript/ superscript) Have infinite canvas for styles note taking feature. have export features (supports many formats including .pdf and .txt) Geometric features like box, table.
Writer added. The document writer of Study Operating tools is known as Was-Note. Development of Was-Note is 50% complete.
Just Updated the CSS. I have changed the theme to match with the theme of my portfolio (Because I liked that theme). I have upgraded some of the source (Because I had lost the source code due to some technical error). I am re-developing some core feature, The Writer . This time I am going to make it entirely markdown base. Analytics feature will contain analysis on which study feature is used and How much.
For few days I have done much working on Study Operating Tools . My goal is to make it super fast to use (Because I don’t want any friction during study) and with lowest requirement possible. First I will release it as a web (for very first ship). Then, I will create apps for different operating systems. Working on Study Operating Tool-Box is almost over and will be shipped soon. Study Operating Tool-Box is quite ready to be online. I will release it soon. Features: Was Calendar: A calendar for planning schedule. Was To-Do list: A to do for planning tasks. Was Writer: A note pad which support both stylus and markdown. There is a PDF download too. Analytics: This is for tracking study sections (This is for user only). For last few days I have worked on it’s theme. Currently and for it’s first ship there will be only one theme (with different colour mode). I am thinking to add more theme later. There is a hamburger option to hide side-bar during tasks. Study Operating Tools is local first. So, for backup there is export and import (saved as .json). And there is no cloud option. Using Application (Currently under development): There will be no cloud, internet access, analytic etc. (but this also depends on user’s raw data using style). Full data will be available in the README.
Today I have released Study Operating Tool-Box. Anyone can give it a try via web. It is completely usable via web. I have created it web-first for now. For upcoming few updates it will be web-first. Then I have intention to upgrade it as an app.
Ships:
What I have created known as Study Operating Tool-Box. That is why I am also thinking about updating the existing icons and add some more icons too. Thanks to all those who are reviewing Study Operating Tool-Box...

Devlogs:
I have made a very WIP frontend
Okay, looong devlog. Made a backend (partially reused from old project) Email verification on account creation Dashboard now loads real user data verify email/login/signup email pages* Added sentry to both prod and dev sentry analytics Added logo and name to sidebar* page names and favicon lots of try and fail docker deployment* -> assisted with AI (OpenCode)
Fix: Show real error messages in API Show real IPs on sentry/logs when behind reverse proxy Fix the redirect loop when stale cookie Let admins clear user caches from redis Add event models (classes, evaluations, schedule)
Added a scheduler WIP onboarding (import classes, evaluations, etc) Added subject routes and models. Added subjects in the UI under settings* adjusted some sentry configs bug fxes changed the admin icon *This had a lot of opencode assistance making it.
You can now create and view classes! You can also cancel them individually if anything came up.
Hi! Recent updates: Added evaluation API routes and support in the UI Evaluations now show up in the calendar view added page names disabled homework (it’s coming in a future update!) small bug fixes
Hello! I have added ICS integration support, so now you can add your School Tools calendar in any of your prefered calendars! I started by making the job that generates the ICS per se. After that, i added API routes to integrate around it. I then integrated it into the frontend under /settings/calendar. There is also a tooltip in the normal calendar page!* The way ICS feeds work is basically every time there is a DB edit (such as class creation for example) the user is marked as ‘dirty’. Then, the ICS job that runs every five minutes, gets every dirty user and updates their ICS feeds. It doesn’t really matter that it isn’t updated automatically, since the majority of calendar providers have a long TTL for ICS subscriptions. (Google Calendar has ~12h TTL for example!) I also added a README. *Frontend integration was heavily AI assisted, but i supervised it and edited some things to ensure code quality.
So, i had OpenCode do a look around the codebase for vulnerabilities and bugs that i should fix before release. However, the edits were done by me. This devlog is basically that: • fixed an IDOR vulnerability that allowed any authenticated user to uncancel any class by just having its ID. . • when trying to log in with an account that does not exist, the api now raises a password incorrect error instead of user_not_found . . • added rate limiting to /v1/auth/pwd (5 per minute) , /v1/auth/signup (20 per hour) and /v1/auth/verify (2 per minute). • Improve email validation on account creation. • Added password requirements on signup.. • Enforce email verified in endpoints. • Fixed a vuln that allowed the ?next=//example.com param to redirect to any website after login. • Added a FAQ in the calendar settings page ‘Why is my calendar not updating?’. • Don’t allow class deletion if used by evaluation. • Add loader and icon to the class deletion modal.. • Don’t allow subject deletion if used by class.. • Rename canceled to cancelled in many parts of the code.. • Ensure character count limit (8-50 in most places). • Relax rate limits. • [OpenCode] Created a migration worker. • Migration to remove depreacted onboarding_status field.. • Made many things TZ aware and added an user timezone field in the IANA format.. • [OpenCode] Tried, and failed to add mobile support.. • Standernize responses in the valid_json decorator. Many of the changes are non-visual, so i put the devlog image as the new FAQ.
New feature: • You can now change the icons of your subjects. If you already had subjects prior to this, its icon will be set as BookOpen. Bug fixes: • added very janky admin endpoints + ui. UI was mostly done by ai because its not public and just needs to work. I made the endpoints myself, even tho they are a bit janky. Will impove in the future.. • added a resend verification link button (only available after 6h) and logout button in the /auth/verify/pending page..
Added a new shinny settings page! You can edit your name, email and password
Hi! hi! The main point of this updated is that i added Homework support! You can see all your homework in a new shiny homework page. I also revamped the ‘Todays schedule’ in the main dashboard, and added a new homework widget there too A few QOL things: Added toaster responses in many parts of the code Calendar selection now uses the ‘Calendar’ item by shadcn instead of native OS /browser selector bug fixes here and there
I added a new toggle so users can disable ICS generation. The functionality is off by default, tho users can manually enable it in the settings. Existing users will still have it on. QOL things: Change email change rate limit message Styling issues ICS generation now runs in another thread (api route) fix: Busiest day off by one Made more things use the local user timezone instead of the browser one fix animation not showing up on ‘regenerate calendar links’ popup
I fixed some bugs around here and there and added basic support for the mobile UI. Mobile UI support was largely done with OpenCode
Hello! The frontend now uses bun instead of npm, so it’s very fast now! If you have a profile picture in gravatar, that will now be your profile picture. Also, School Tools has a new logo! Bug fixes: Calendar now displays correctly on mobile DRY (Don’t repeat yourself) the code
Hi! I did a major revamp of the admin page and added statistics to it! You can now see user stats, adoption stats, and content stats (you must have admin, tho). Stats are automatically updated every hour, and can be manually updated by superadmins too. Superadmins also got the ability to nuke the redis db completely in development.
Heeello! I did a revamp on the admin users page. It is now WAY faster than the previous one, and searching works very well too! And admins can now hit the ban hammer on users. That will send them an email, and block them from accessing School Tools.
Heello! I fixed many bugs in the API and frontend, and also added the ability to reset passwords if you lost them! I also improved the login/signup pages.
Ships:
School Tools is management platform for your study life. You can add your subjects, classes and evaluations. Building this project was so much fun, and I’m really proud of it. I found really challenging creating the ICS feeds and keeping them updated in a reliable way, but that was also fun to learn about.
This update majorly adds homework support. You can now create and view your homework! If you let it be overdue, it will also show you. Some other updates include adding icons to subjects and some basic account settings. Making this was fun, and i found really interesting figuring out how to add fields to existing users in prod (since mongodb doesn’t have migrations)
This update fixed some bugs in School Tools, and switched the frontend to use bun instead of npm!
This update added a new admin dashboard, with it’s endpoints rewritten to be more reliable. It also adds support for password reset, statistics (for admins) and a lot of bug fixes here-and-there....

I am building a resource management plugin for better auth so we no longer need to create APIs manually instead just need to define what is needed so far I have setup a testbench of todo app and plugin connected to it.
Finally it is working but there are alot of bugs and problems to fix like currently developer need to pass all the fields including id, created and updated at dates etc while creating resource instead i want to refine it more in terms of input schema
I have published this plugin to npm and currently it is very early to use but it works for smaller applications like if you want to make simple todo app or simple crud application this will work fine.
Added docs to finish this project so anyone can use it
