Devlogs:
Finally made the moving tab work, I have a great plan for this. I’m thinking of changing the background daily, and to put a “find out more about this image tab”, that’s basically the apod api
Soooo I’m like halfway thru the guide (the interesting part of it), finally got everything working, I just want to make it more modular (I’ll explain later)
Finally made the apps fully modular, any js script can be made by anyone, I have to make a platform now to upload such scripts
Officially made a user-friendly (kinda) platform to add apps, I will now go on to some actual apps and I’m done
Finally have a good demo for the weather app!!
It’s officially done! There are still features I’d like to add later on, but for now this is a functional webOS. You can check out the latest demo right here: https://clumsy261.github.io/andOS/
I’ve implemented two new functions!! The resizeElement initializez a div in the bottom right corner of the window. It acts as a handle to resize the window. It has no practical use I can think of, aside from user experience. And then there is the overlay function, I forgot to put this in from the original guide but now this allows each app to be put in front of the others when interacted with.
Completed the notes app! New feature: Apps can now be resized properly, since the resize function returns an event-target that can be used in the custom app script.
Today was a good day, I finished the notes app earlier (not sure it was today) aaaand implemented a new feature I wanted for some time. Now every day my os has a new background, the nasa apod background! I also added an info window that includes the name and info about the image. I got the idea from windows back when I had to use it without a license and this was the default.
I have succesfully made a custom script for custom apps. Now an entire window can be opened on my page with an object like this. I only need to add two things, one local interface to actually submit the code from a user, and then a public app store.
He he hell yeah It’s done. A working demo for the submitting apps is done, now any user can actually create their own app inside my webos (for real this time) I’ll add some user-friendly documentation soon on the prebuilt functions and more.
The hard part is done. AndOS now has a code editor, “compiler” and publisher ~ and all bugs that I knew of are gone :D
First app is up! :D Made a ping-pong game (mostly ai slop) … BUT I KNOW how it works, had to make the game pause when hidden and resume when the window gets clicked.
I just wrote a decent README so, It’s finished!!! :D (for the 17th time) The app store isn’t very rich right now, but I plan on adding more apps if users request any
I’ve looked at some post-use apps made by some users and fixed some bugs: if the icon is invalid it’s replaced by a default “gears” app doesn’t allow blank titles anymore - they get renamed “App ” if left blank Now I’m debating wether or not to manually remove junk apps - test blobs made by some users just for testing the platform
Ships:
I made a custom webOS using the guide offered by stardance. It was really simple, thinking back on it. I added a template for future apps and made it more efficient with file sorting. I’m planning on adding an actual window creator app, where a user can write any code they want to compile into the OS as an actual app.
Here is the newest version of my webOS! https://clumsy261.github.io/andOS/ Among the new features from the first part there are: -a new notes app -a new code editor app (for custom user scripts) -an actual app store for user made apps -resizeable windows (made easy by just using resizeElement(card) in any custom script) -ping pong app (vibe coded but made to be a proof of concept) -secret easter egg add (check out what the andOS name actually means) This was a really nice experience, now I really understand most html, css and js concepts (not many courses offer that). Hopefully this will get some attention and users will start building actual apps. :D (come to think of it it’s just a fancy server for testing web code)...

Devlogs:
overall I worked on connectin gthis repository to this program and I got to work trasnfering the tailwind design styles on my home page across other pages. My overall goal is to learn how to use tailwind and create a project for my own so trying to use aistrictly as likea. google but never let it automate writing code for me. Trying to learn the basics of tailwind for now and then when I ge tmore proficient at it I can master some more creative design options
So I started on moving the css styling components from the origional website ot it;s outer parts to salvage supplies
Not much was done today B Ut I mostyl focused on adding links to the personal website lists. on my home page and I got stared on inputting basics for images. i want tsi to be interactive and a profile that provides the depth of my charceter so I should include links, refernces etc that lead to my hobbies, projects, likes and more I will work more on these features in the morning,
Since my personal profiel information was now. alittle outdated and needed some updating I worked to add in those updates I am near running a dead end on how to make this overly aesthetic so when I hit that roadblock I am gonna start planning out how I actually want my own website to look
I proofread and revised parts of my descirption for my personal website, since the goal is overly-aesthetic and interactivness I went ahead and added a profile-hover name reveal feature. Additionally making it minamalisitc while also intractive this is a major drafting and learning leap for my project as I learned more mechanics about tailwind and set the tone on future design of the website. Overall. I am very proud of my work today. Although I had initially struggled with styling the image correctly and somehwo it would never update, I had finally realzied that it was ebcause my tailwind css wasn’t reading my html correctly and I now had a deeper understandin gof where errors like those came from when using tailwind.
I figured out the layout of styling the lists for my portfolio websote and it’s comming together alot. better now. I’ve made a list have special animations when hovereed that reveal it’s contents and I’ve figured out some JS to make a quote appear when you click on my profile. next time I will focus on giving that effect to all of the lists !! a Huge challenge was actually getting the animatiosn right. I had so many unbeleivable typos which was annoying to work with. Some of the syntax also still confused me and I did not yet understnad the meaning of some commands like “overflow-hidden”. but Learning is definitely part of the process here! Although the aesthetic is kinda nice the color pallete is a bit too simple I’lll try and make it more flashy and expressive rather than deep, dark and lowkey
Worked to make the effect for one of the lsits apply to all lists for the home page. Also planning to add more imgaes to teh website in the future.
So, I added a reveal list contents feature to each of the lists using javascript, origionally I ahd to make a unique function for each lsit which was super tedious and annoying and it was just really bad coding rpactices so I deciced to wokr to make my code shorter, more organized and readable, this project, has already come along way thenw hen I had first started it 2 weeks ago… I still am thinking of what kind of images I should add but to be hoenst , finding an image that perfectly represent the topic and adding it is a bit of a drag and kinda disrupts the coding workflow flow-state I sually get into in coding so, I’m gonna have to trian my mind for that. I usually am not that good at using javascript so it was good that I got able to practice it well here.
I worked to implement the swtich image freature to all lists, i haven’t found suitabele images for it tho and I am kinda lazy for it … ;(
worked on adding the list changing image feature on all of the lists of my home page. Now I just have to add a music taste list and add links to each of the lits items and that should be it for the home page. it sitll looks a little 2d and basic…. the styling color pa;llet literally has only 3-4 colors and uses only 2 most of the time…. so I am gonna have to change that up. yt that’s just a simple code fix. I had this problem where the image kept being at the bottom of the lsit isntead of opening up on the side and it was because I realzied I hadn’t used flexbox propoerties so once I appleid them to both items of teh list and the image I was able to get a smooth visual expression of my interests with a clean smooth layout, aesthetic and appeal. Lowkey midnight motivation pushed me throguh some key changes in the website that’s probably it for the night I am gonna turn the monitor off.
I added a new music list onto the portfolio webstie talking about all the favourite songs I like, I also stared working on the story page that talked about how i came onto this personal path. I faced some small typos but overall got through it. I am planning on adding a similar effect I had with my lists to the small description on the “my story” page. I am planning to style this like a timeline. where boxes adn their yeaers will slowly reveal themselves as you scroll down
I started working on the scroll- flow-in timeline mechanic of my story tab in the website, currently it’s not done and I think it’s a little broken but I’ll finnish it up later.
I finnished up on the fading in effect for the timeline/story of my website protfolio I haven’t added any imagees tho. I’ll work on all the tailwind and mechanics first then I’ll move to importing images, and finding a better colour scheme and making the layout more visually appealing
I was pretty unsatisfieied with the vision of my resulting outcome of my website, it still in a way seemede a little generic broing and balnd even with the extensive hover and intractive freatures so I topok today to draw inspriation from 3 other websitesl. i created an md file to map out my thoughts and since I kinda got a bit busier with summer school I will be stalling toay and picking up pace when I get the oppportunity.
Since getting an inspiration and refrence from other websites. I have restarted the project and started working on hte basic html layout fo the first two pages, I’ll try to style them in a really interactive and visually apppealing style that resembles most modern websites.
I tried getting gemini to create an example of what I had wanted for my overly-aesthetic website, I use ai to generate code which I then manually check over and type on my own finding out and discovering my mechanics while being given a somewhat of a image or refrence of what I want, but following the code gemini had created was found confusing when I tried to tell it how it would create my draft of my personal website, not only did I run into errors trying to type the code but i had found that it had included alot of weird divs created and language used that seemingly served no purpose to my idea of the website, rather than being helpful it was kind of fluffy and being extra so I lowkey ran into wasting an hour of coding, however I found a good website refrence that I was fascinated by it’s simple and effective design that I could adopt into my own website, in the future I will closely analyze this website and use ais to teach me more about this type of design.
HAHA! after 2 weeks of summer school, a hackathon later and practicing arduino stuff. I am back on this project! I found it really challenging to find a good color pallet to maket this thing interactable, so maybe color pallete is like a later thing, ut I gave it a 3d interactable bacgkround header!! woohoo!! thius is one of my goals when tryuing to replicate those really cool websites so I’m really proud. for a second it did wokr but I kinda. broke it again becasue I tried adding some new code. I will probably fix it tomorrow. the colopallete must wait
So, I decided to work on it for a little bit more, this time I got started on teh dropdown feature of. my homepage webstie. this is. ahuge part as this helsp show who i am and what I like and it should be relevant to nayone chekcing my website. this took a while to input, but it still needs a little tweaking to be considered done.
MWHAHAAHHAHA GUYS I am back and now after beng finnished my header for my. opening page I am moving onto the iamges where I styled them and gave them a fading in intro, I lowk didn’t work on much today and I know I have to do like homework and sstuff so Imma leave it there.
So I added this section popup fro my images and I added in some text for the images of my website. So that will pretty much conclude my first age, I am happy with this design and I will move onto the nxt page
I started working on my story page, of my jounrye to becommming an engineer. I started styling the webpage and got the basic layout of it down, ttomorrow I will focus on the animations and foinal touches and texgt of the story page.
I lowkey made the prject worse< I typed in some fo the ocntent heere for the storty making it drasticllt shorter and mroe consicce then the last one. I tried putting in some animation stuff ofr it but it hasn;t worked.
Update on Personal Portoflio:: -Created another category for my stories page -This will lead into my next page where it will be about projects I have wroked on and other greate work I have done, Photography, codig, building, etc. I also did try to add anothe interactive background but unfortunately I ran into a bunch of errors and I didn’t know how to solve alot of them -I will liekly work on this project for longer durations in the next upcomming weeks and days. while balanacing other responsibilites and habits as well.
Got started working on the projects tab on my website, I want to make like a dail formation on loike a row to reveal my projects that I have built across the years
Today I really tried to create the scrollign dial wheel feature on my website, but it proved ot be really challenging. I ran into multiple errors and complications with importing libraries using suitable libraries and finding good ways to test code. I ended up going back to square one with no animations, just divs. Which is arguable better than what I origionally had, because the animation then looked atrocious. It being slow, choppy and delayed.
Creaeted the baseline for this clean aeshtetic for my contacts page, I amde it kind fo absic and i am runnning out of images to put here soI just amde a bse tempalte for now I am planning on mkaing this a little more cooler with some features later. To be honest, I don’t think this website has done too good of a job of what it’s intended to do, I mean it is interactive but, not what I envision it to be at it’s peak… I’m not sure yet but I’ll keep trying. I was really inspired by those websites that had won awards like nk studios and igloo.inc. But I understand those were prodcued by teams of professionals
I am not sure why I logged 3 hours of this, but I just tried working more on thje layout just polishing some pages of the website.
I am logging off an hour of work I have made, I added more hover effcts to the sectiosn of the projects page for more interactivity
added a navigation ection on my contacts page. now my website can be througuhgly traversed accrsoss all pages I’ve jsut been polishing up and adding more details and features like underlines bars etc.
I worked on making the website links more accesible on all links, adding to it;s interactability while fixiign up on a. few more issues and adjustments. i am running otu of Ideas for my website. I’ll be finnishing this up soon.
Hi, from two hours I succesffully deployed my first few images into my projects page. this willl help better present the projects ath I have recently been working on. On top of that OI have uniqley styled these pages to have thier own matching colour scheme
This time, I wokred on adding finishing touches to ship the project. I have deployed it on gihtub and you can access it via link
Ships:
I tried to make a personal website and give it the most aesthetic tailwind effects I could give it...

I had to make it somehow smaller… As suggested in the guide I had finally read, I placed the mcu on the back side. At first the routing seemed like it would be next to impossible given my not so simple layout, though in less than half an hour I managed to route everything. Now the pcb is 99.06 x 41.91 mm small Finally, when I ran the DRC I actually found there was actually a clearance violation at the 11th pin of the mcu(1.7mm); I think I already lowered the clearance once so I might be cooked… i’ll take my chances! I designed the PCB layout for my macropad “an average macropad”, it is my first ever pcb design! I drew the schematic in about an hour which I have no recording of Along the way I did make some decisions without full certainty. Like, have you ever seen someone wire rotary encoders in a matrix? now you have ! Other than that goofy wiring which imo should work, there is the backlight LED placement. I’ve just seen the LEDs being in a place which appears to be bellow the switches in images of mechanical keyboard PCBs, so I’m hoping my skillful placement of the LEDs won’t interfere with the switches ‘cause otherwise I’ll have no backlight which would be very sad :(( The next for me now is actually adding the holes in pcb so I can actually mount it to the case the design of which I wanted to call my next step, but oh, well…
Had to fix the spacing between the switches. Designing the PCB yesterday I had somehow overlooked the switch spacing specification(19.05mm center-to-center) and positioned the switches with an odd spacing. The process took me about 1h 10m of which for 20 minutes I had the recording paused NOW I can finally work on the case! I sure hope I record everything this time
Designed a case for my macropad Quite case of a case… It’s not the prettiest yet
partially redesigned the pcb again As it turns out, there pcb size constraints which I somehow missed. I suspect there might be a problem with encoder’s pins and the mcu clearance, will see about that when I hopefully get the pcb Until then it’s just the case and firmware I have to make
Designed a case for my macropad dimensions 115.46 x 58.31 x 21mm
Got some qmk firmware for my macropad to compile I spent a lot of time messing around until I finally got the firmware to compile at all. I have no idea whether this will actually work as I don’t have the macropad (yet) manufactured. As always, I did do something a bit sketchy. As it turns out qmk doesn’t support diode and direct matrix usage alongside each other, and I had the encoder switch pins drawn in a direct connection… Therefore I added that pin(GP7) as another row in hopes it will work fine which it should… i think...

The simulation models an idealised Gaussian laser beam with a fixed nominal propagation direction along +Z. The beam settings include peak intensity (I_0), waist (w_0), wavelength (\\lambda), and lateral beam-centre offsets. The sail model estimates radiation-pressure force and torque over the discretised surface, then advances translational and rotational state. The workbench records time histories so configurations can be inspected and compared. A local radiative-equilibrium calculation estimates surface temperature from absorbed illumination and the configured emissivity. Few Notes: The simulation is not very optimised so it may take some time to function on lower end PCs I have added a video performing some functions of the software in the github ReadMe. (As in the ship of my last project, many people told me to have a video as they didn’t want to download the package itself.) Added a temperature mapping system based on absorbed laser intensity (Absolutely obsolete btw ): ) Fixed the paraboloid sign issue so it curved in the intended direction. -Also tried using other libraries for rendering, but MatPlotLib is the best option right now other miscellaneous stuff I cant remember honestly (Next devlog will be more detailed trust)"}, {"post_id": 16406, "ts": "2026-06-26T18:05:21Z", "hours": 12.8053, "text": "Devlog - 4 YO PEOPLE, i am BACK (ts so cringe. literally nobody cares). This devlog is about how almost lost my minds migrating my simulation’s rotation calculations into Quaternions , integrating RK4 and as always solving bugs, because Nyx is filled with bugs (Oh, you dont know what Nyx is? well it is my passive beam riding light sail simulation, for a research paper im working on) Euler Angles Started Tweaking Ok so before this, Nyx used normal Euler angle rotations using thetaX and thetaY for orientation. At first it worked fine, but after longer simulations stuff started tweaking hard The sphere and paraboloid would randomly start flattening into weird pancake/disc things (which i lowkey think might be cuz matplotlib library hates me idk) , rotations started looking cursed, and the orientation slowly became unstable over time. At first I thought matplotlib was just being goofy again, but nah, the actual orientation system itself was kinda cooked (most likely) . The problem was that Euler angles are not really built for stable continuous 3D rotational dynamics. Rotations started interfering with each other and the geometry would slowly drift into nonphysical states during longer simulations.Basically Nyx had reached the point where the old orientation system just wasn’t enough anymore :(. Quaternion Migration (The Pain of ’26 ) So yeah, this devlog was basically the “quaternion suffering” update I replaced the entire orientation system with quaternions. Instead of storing orientation as separate thetaX and thetaY values, Nyx now stores orientation as a quaternion state directly integrated through RK4.This was honestly one of the biggest upgrades to the simulator so far because now orientation itself is physically simulated instead of just being fake angle accumulation and stuff. The migration was WAY more painful than expected At first literally everything exploded: infinitiesNaNsbroken, normals-cursed, and sphere geometry intensity overflows. At one point the simulator straight up started generating inf values and the sphere looked like it got compressed by a hydraulic press .The biggest issue ended up being invalid normal vectors inside the sphere mesh generation. A single broken normal could completely destroy the intensity calculations and then infect the entire simulation state with NaNs.After fixing all that, Nyx now has stable quaternion orientation. quaternion vector rotation, quaternion RK4 integration, much more stable rotational dynamics, no more gimbal-lock-type weird ahh stuff . This was really hard for me to add lol now what ? so thats what took more than 10 hours. I think my boi Nyx is doing pretty good and will help me in great magnitude for my research paper. For now at least, i wanna make a sort of UI and replace ‘matplotlib’ with smth better cuz’ I am lowkey fed up. I would also like to add a feature of mass data collection, so that there is much data to study. – that’s it for me today, I hope YOU have a great day! (BTW, i have no idea why the markdown on this devlog is so weird, i can not seem to fix it lowkey)
DEVLOG - smth im bad at remembering numbers and its been sometime too WHATS UP LOVELY PEOPLE Another Nyx devlog it is! You dont know what Nyx is? Its my light sail simulation for a paper im working on! I did some code refining and yeah lots of boring stuff. Used the Stefan–Boltzmann equilibrium approximation to estimate local surface temperature. Added a temperature mapping system based on absorbed laser intensity (Absolutely obsolete btw ): ) Fixed the paraboloid sign issue so it curved in the intended direction. -Also tried using other libraries for rendering, but MatPlotLib is the best option right now other miscellaneous stuff I cant remember honestly (Next devlog will be more detailed trust)
DEVLOG 6 (and seven soon) Its been soooooooooooooooo long since my last devlog. I had my exams and well I couldn’t much and didn’t write my devlog last time. Oh you don’t know what Nyx? It is a light sail simulation I am working on for a paper I am writing (btw there are emojis now so cool stuff got added when I was gone) NEW ADDITIONS: Introduce a materials package (Material dataclass + presets: Graphene, Aluminium, SiliconCarbide) and an analysis package with plotting helpers and an Experiment helper. Update SimMain to accept a material for each sail type, pull reflectivity/absorptivity from the material, and record max/average temperature history. Fix numeric/geometry issues: correct sphere inertia, improve normal/rotation math for sphere and paraboloid, and ensure positions use rotated local coordinates. Add multiple debug/test scripts and enable analysis plotting at the end of simLoop to visualize force, position, velocity, acceleration, angular velocity and temperature histories. I did NOT copy-paste the commit here trust. If you think I did, you're wrong Well, thats it for now, Ill put more effort in the next devlog See YALL soon (no one cares, but I care )
NYX DEVLOG MUHEHEHEHHE (NO IDEA BOUT THE INDEX) sorry for being dead for so long. i was busy with irl stuff The Simulator is ALMOST done yay I made the GUI for yall (the program is not user friendly ) and now the simulated data can FINALLY be saved into .json and .csv and some boring physics shit heres the run down: Physics World frame inertia calculation. i CORRECTED THE INERTIA TENSOR TRANSFORMATION so that angular momentum and rotational dynamics use the inertia tensor in the world frame Rotational Dynamics used the rigid body rotational equation normalised the intermediate RK4 orientation states (so yeah lots of attitude control yk) paraboloid COM and hemisphere COM were straight wrong as i found out so they are fixed now respectively GUI added a workbench/gui for the whole program (I HATE this) and in the repo i added the Read Me after two gazillion years ill say Nyx (the simulator) is done and i can ship it FINALLY after so long and start working on the paper FINALLY. btw the BEANS SHALL PREVAIL some things the 3d geometry visualization doesnt work with the gui stack so ill have to fix that and the parameter sweep doesnt work any bit. these things ill have to do before the first ship and besides ill say the same is pretty good and completed
Mini Devlog :yoooo-chat-whats-up–are-yall-ready-for-another-weekly-journal–i-hope-so-kitty-dance-mb-sorry-for-b: I completed the parameter sweep and it works (still pretty glitchy tho) and added a 3d visualisation section to the program (prolly the most visually appealing thing ) GONNA SHIP NOW YAY
Ships:
This is the first ship of an interstellar light sail simulation for a research paper I am working on. The simulation models an idealised Gaussian laser beam with a fixed nominal propagation direction along +Z. The beam settings include peak intensity (I_0), waist (w_0), wavelength (\lambda), and lateral beam-centre offsets. (As in the ship of my last project, many people told me to have a video as they didn’t want to download the package itself.) If there the runner throws an exception or error pop up at the end, i.e. after running the program, the data can still be accessed (plots, .json, .csv, etc.)...
