Got the main app working in window mode!
Default installation to windowed mode to prevent Macbook Pro annoying notch that blocks menue bar items. Photo below is default installtion.
Readme rewritten
Complete UI rework. New features: battery failsafe (arrow buttons are trackpad pressure sensitive!), screen dimmer.
[2026-09-07] - v1.3.0 Added- Added Sleep Scheduler, which can force the Mac to sleep after a configurable days, hours, and minutes countdown. Added persistent scheduler duration settings and restored them automatically at launch. Added a menu-bar quick action to start the last configured scheduler duration. Added a live remaining-time row to the menu-bar menu while a scheduler is active. Added an optional closed-lid condition that prevents starting the scheduler with an open lid and cancels an active scheduler when the lid opens. Added an optional sleep-disabled condition that only permits scheduling while Sleep Disabler is active and cancels the scheduler when normal sleep is restored. Added scheduler documentation to the README. Changed Updated forced-sleep handling to restore disabled sleep settings before issuing pmset sleepnow . Rebuilt the distributable Sleep Disabler.app bundle with the scheduler changes. Fixed Enabled continuous press-and-hold tracking for the native scheduler steppers. Fixed the scheduler control layout so numeric-width changes do not move the stepper arrows.

This is the most lightweight sleep disabler on Earth. Works on any apple silicone (M1, M2 etc) Mac. Solved the annoying Macbook Pro notch block problem! Unresolved : no Apple Developer account to sign/notarise the .app bundle so you will have try launch the app, then go to Settings -> Privacy & Security, scroll to the very bottom and click allow.
Added 2 new features: Battery failsafe - configure the battery level to force your Mac to sleep so it doesn’t hard shutdown from low battery. Lid Dimmer - turns display brightness to 0% when the disabler is activated and the laptop screen is closed. Very useful to save power (~2-5w on display), and prevent OLED burn in for the rumoured M6 Macbook Pro! Lid Dimmer arrows have trackpad pressure sensitive adjustment precision! Very cool!!! Fixed the show window button glitch where it would summon a window every time you click it, resulting in a “infinite window” glitch.
What did you make? I added a Sleep Scheduler to the macOS app. Users can choose days, hours, and minutes, then force the Mac to sleep when the countdown ends. It saves the last schedule, works from the menu bar, and includes lid-closed and sleep-disabled safety options. What was challenging? The hardest part was connecting the scheduler to existing power-management behavior safely. The app must restore disabled sleep settings before forcing sleep. I also had to keep the menu-bar countdown current, detect lid changes, save settings, and prevent conflicting scheduler states. What are you proud of? I am proud that the scheduler feels integrated instead of separate. It reuses the native pressure-and-hold steppers, keeps control positions stable, restores saved values on startup, and gives useful menu-bar feedback. The safety conditions make it more practical for real MacBook use. What should people know so they can test your project? Download, extract and open Sleep Disabler.app , then configure the Sleep Scheduler with a short duration. Ensure the pmset permission rule is enabled first. Test menu-bar quick start, saved values after relaunch, lid-open cancellation, and the sleep-disabled condition. Avoid testing if you have unsaved work!!!...

The project is completed and polished after long time with lots n lots of changes. I tried my best to replicate macOS Tahoe theme. Here are all the features: Dock with floating apps (shortcuts) Window containing NASA APOD and News embed. Search bar in the center with classic ‘hello’ placeholder (uses Borel font). Designed my basic PCB idea. I will now add in more parts and update in the next devlog. So, you might think I posted that I will be using a C5 in my last devlog but I used a S3 instead? Actually, I researched a bit about it on 18th June, forgot to record it, I came to know that C5 or even C6 has no OTG capability for a wired failback but a S3 has it. So, I pivoted on to using a S3. I watched Joe’s video and learnt new thing about KiCad, I have used it before but didn’t know so much about it. I had to re-install it due to an OS change. I have also decided to write a custom micro-python script because the Espressif family doesn’t support KMK or QMK first handedly. Joe’s and HC’s KiCad package is a life saver for someone starting with KiCad as they provide almost all the required components inside it. I am making a Matrix Design 2x3 macro-pad.
