I recently heard about nested CSS on an article. It is still pretty messy to use, but I would say that using this technique to change the colors of a layout is pretty harm-free. A simple shrine page based off of the FIELD NOTES notebook, and a tour of my little shrine for the video game OFF (2006). Totally go play it if you can (it’s free)!
Tweaked the splash text javascript on my about me page and the css on the last-played last.fm widget for visual clarity. The last.fm widget normally bugs out if an artist name/song title is long and I have been trying to fix it through css. As you can see here, it seems to be working properly now. As a subsitute, I am now using the unit ‘em’ and the song seems to be displaying properly with 2 different songs.
Music Page Fixes + Updates 🧰 Fixed a CSS issue where track titles in the album reviews on my music page overflowed onto the next album. Set the height of each container to height: fit-content; and added padding to the inside of each container for visual aesthetic. 🎉 Added 2 new albums: “SMILE! :D” and “834.184” to celebrate. 💿 fr the CD (it’s actually a dvd) in the background rotates! is it tuff or nah
Blog + diary nested CSS to create a different color scheme I used the same layout for my blog and diary, but I wanted to keep both of them visually distinct while having the same layout. The solution was to change up the color scheme. One way to do this is by completely copy and pasting the diary’s css and making a blog.css to change all the colors by hand. Tedious… I chose the less (maybe more) painful option of creating a class for the body of the blog called .blog and recoloring each element by calling on their class/identifier and giving them a green color. I recently heard about nested CSS on an article. It is still pretty messy to use, but I would say that using this technique to change the colors of a layout is pretty harm-free. writing is fun :’) I reviewed a few books (read: 2 books) that I read this year in my blog. I’m really unsatisfied with how the blog looks so I will definitely redo the whole blog at somepoint.
Ships:
This is my personal website hosted on nekoweb.org that I have been updating frequently for almost 2 years now. For the record, I have definitely worked over an hour on this :cold-sweat:
As things slowly start to wrap up around Stardance, I want to ship the last few hours of this late (now evolved) project of mine. What is this? This is keltime (now version 3)! My very own personal website with a bunch of stuff to look at. This project is best viewed on a computer using the Chrome browser! This includes a music page, listography, links page to other cool sites, a site map if you get lost… etc. This is the handy link: https://keltime.nekoweb.org/sitemap CSS is definitely the MOST fun part about web development. You can do all sorts of fun hover animations with it!! You should try visiting a few webpages; many have hover animations! They were difficult to figure out and caused my head to ache quite a bit. I hope you enjoy looking around! -Ellie p.s. if you read all the way here, then comment in my guestbook “i like cheese”...

I’ve started working on this new tab page. It now only features the image of the day provided by NASA and it shows the current time. I plan on adding a proper search bar below the clock and probably even weather API integration.
I’ve added a functional search box! You can type your query and choose a search engine (Google, Brave Search, DuckDuckGo).
I’ve implemented a time machine! well not really :), it’s just a way to browse past NASA images
I’ve implemented weather integration! the app now asks for your location and if you allow it, it grabs current weather information and displays it with an icon!
Ships:
i made a realtime clock, an image background and a weather API integration...

I developed applications for kOS.
Added weather app and made the notes app better
I added a calculator app to my kOS OS project. It is built using only HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
I added a simple boot screen and a login page + a new settings app and a new terminal

You have to choose a time duration (the time u have on hand), and you msut choose how you are feeling (emotion), and then type out a brain dump. This input gives you an output that helps you come to a decision about your problem. There are also modes for the responses, these modes change the way the AI responds to you. There is a mode recommendation feature where if the AI believes that your brain dump is better suitable for another mode, then it recommends you to swap to that mode instead. I have really enjoyed working on this site. There were many bugs along the way, but in the end it all worked out!", "repo": "https://github.com/officiallyrivaan/just-tell-me-what-to-do", "demo": "https://just-tell-me-what-to-do.vercel.app"}, {"ship_num": 2, "ts": "2026-07-05T02:06:39Z", "hours": 15.0, "multiplier": 17.79, "payout": 226, "blessing": "neutral", "text": "The second ship of just tell me what to do! Alright, first, here’s a quick summary on what just tell me what to do is. An AI powered tool, where you choose your time on hand, then you choose how you are feeling, and then finally dump your thoughts. This gives you the next step, the next step may help to come to a more precise decision, or it maybe just to cheer you up. I went through WAY too many difficulties during this making, i tried making user accounts, but that didnt work out, and a lot more was tried… Now the HUGE update! Modes have been added to the AI, You get to choose how the AI behaves with you! There are six new modes, (the details for them are in the previous devlog) selecting the right mode can u help you for the next step much more effectively! I am really proud of my progress so far, its been insane how much work has been put into this project, and im hoping to continue this further!", "repo": "https://github.com/officiallyrivaan/just-tell-me-what-to-do", "demo": "https://just-tell-me-what-to-do.vercel.app"}, {"ship_num": 3, "ts": "2026-06-28T14:40:38Z", "hours": 4.0, "multiplier": 19.11, "payout": 71, "blessing": "neutral", "text": "As I thought about ideas, I found myself constantly thinking about the problem that everyone deals with but never considers: choosing what to do next. From procrastination to boredom or from being indecisive to having too many options to pick from, making small decisions can end up taking more time than one would expect. And that is how just tell me what to do came to life. The app poses a set of questions to users and based on their answers, makes an AI-suggested recommendation to do something specific next. Those questions include the amount of free time users have, their current state, and any limits they may have. My intention was not to create a new planning tool but rather to help remove the obstacle in making the first step and continue without additional delays. Development was definitely far from being a straight road ahead. More often than not, my time was used to solve bugs rather than implementing new features. They included different behavior between AI models, unexpected failure of my API key, and an annoying UI bug when the to-do pile overlayed with its own popup. The aspect which I am most proud of is the very idea itself. This is the problem that I myself faced, and many other people, I presume, must have had their experiences as well. Rather than just creating another productivity app, I have wanted to make something that would be practical for someone’s daily routine. Even if the app will help save just a few minutes, it would already mean a lot. Moreover, this project gave me an opportunity to practice debugging and using the API of an AI. Each of the problems that I managed to solve added to my knowledge, and at the end of the project, I knew a lot more about frontend and using an AI in the project. All in all, just tell me what to do has turned out to be one of those projects which was very easy at first but proved to be rather challenging in practice. I am glad that I made it till the end despite all the bugs and came up with something practical.", "repo": "https://github.com/officiallyrivaan/just-tell-me-what-to-do", "demo": "https://just-tell-me-what-to-do.vercel.app"}]...

Personally, the scroll through is really generic, and feels unfinished. First Devlog, i thought of one of the biggest problems in daily life, decision making. Im sure every one of us has faced this ATLEAST once, if not hundreds and thousands of times. On average, roughly 2.5 hours is spent on indecisiveness by humans, may it be micro decisions or important decisions. This led me to making, “just tell me what to do,” a website thats AI-Powered and helps you get your thoughts straight and come to a decision. FINISHED BUG FIXING!!!! That took way too long. Devlog #2. Alright so now i’ve fixed the major prompting issue, you can finally talk to the ai without it bringing up additional math pass rates. 😅 I figured i’d host it on OnRender since im used to it. Added environment variables instead of the .env since its not testing anymore. Rebuilt the UI slightly. Worked on it all day. FINAL DEVLOGGGGGG, I encountered way too many bugs deleting my .env file. it was PAINFUL. Finally fixed and im gonna ship the project!!!!!!! Huge new feature added, i call it the to-do pile. Your last 5 actions show up on it, and a button thats clickable saying “did it,” as soon as you click it, the action dissappears from the to-do pile! Its been really fun working on this site!
wsp guys! im back to working on this project, i made a few css changes over the week, nothing much really, i would want yall to suggest me some features that i can implement in the website! feel free to comment, really helps out!
INSANE UPDATEEEEE! alright now ive added 2 new pages instead of 1 long scroll through page. Personally, the scroll through is really generic, and feels unfinished. One page is for “the tool,” (the ai suggester on waht to do) the other is called “my patterns” this gives u an analysis on your mood trends, productive hours etc. Im not sure if im planning to keep this feature since it feels kind of pointless. I also have added a pomodoro timer, where u get 25 minutes to complete your activity, its totally optional. In addition to that i added a share button, so u can copy it and put it into your notes, or screenshot it and send it to people! anyways, thats it for now. stay tuned for the next one!
okay, honestly that grind was insane. 12 hours of work, i toughed it out. anyways, now to the project. alright, so a super cool update, now theres modes to the ai, like personalities that u think will best suit you. 6 modes have been added, just decide - the defualt, vent - ai is a calm listener and gives u small gentle steps, roast me - straight forward, friend-like attitude that shows you the total truth in a blunt way, hype me up - high energy, gets you pumped up u for the next step, talk it through - thinks alongside with you, and provides clarity, and finally break it down - treats your brain dumb as a task list, and is more analytical. These are the new modes, and ive made a change mode button on the tool page. This may be my final devlog before the ship! Insane update, im excited to see how this turns out!
its me again! i was on a grind, and i spent 8 hours refining the mode-specific responses, i did not change much else. next up, im planning on adding mode recommendations. this update looks at your brain dump, and suggests if there is a better mode for this input.
i worked a lot on the backend already so now i decided to work on the frontend. im developing a liquid glass component for the topbar, its not ready yet, trust me making it is a PAIN. im also almost done with the mode recommendations! im pretty sure by tommorow, or today, all of these updates will be out!
okay, this devlog is gonna be a short one, since i just wanted to keep yall updated on whats up. basically, ive been facing bugs on the liquid glass topbar, i might scratch the idea entirely, not sure, and now im facing bugs on the mode recommendation…
bugs finally fixed!!! (some) alright, im back now, i had taken a short break. i fixed the liquid glass bugs, and it is finally good enough! Im fine tuning the mode recommendation feature, to make it accurate now.

As I thought about ideas, I found myself constantly thinking about the problem that everyone deals with but never considers: choosing what to do next. I am glad that I made it till the end despite all the bugs and came up with something practical.
The second ship of just tell me what to do! I am really proud of my progress so far, its been insane how much work has been put into this project, and im hoping to continue this further!
Hello, this is the final devlog for my project, i believe that the website, for its sole purpose is now totally finished. ‘just tell me what to do’ is a website i have developed for a huge problem in real life, decision making. There were many bugs along the way, but in the end it all worked out!...
