Devlogs:
Gathered most of the symbols and footprints for the project
Removed all male pins and set up button mode switches along with headers
Established digital pin nets
Assigned the rest of the footprints and researched switches that might work for button modes but couldn’t find their datasheets and suitable footprints
Found suitable slide switches, assigned their footprints, and made an approximate PCB layout
Slightly rearranged all footprints, flipped the 01x02 socket symbols, and routed all traces
Imported the rest of the 3D models and removed the LED from the MX key model
Had to reroute the 2nd layer because of missing tracks
Revised the PCB size, added fillets, and made the ground net fill the whole PCB
Increased the PCB size a bit to add holes for mounting, modeled the main part of the case, and designed keycaps
Designed levers for the DPDT switches, made case walls shorter in order to make the headers flush to the cover that is not yet mounted, and made the keycaps taller so keys are hidden
Completed the first design version by applying example colors, adding numbers above the headers, chamfering the cover, and adding little press fit pins to avoid small screws that would ruin the look of the cover, and to allow easy access to the PCB
Edited symbol references for a cleaner look, and did overall polishing and preparation for production...

I worked on my Case and Plate which was also pretty easy because the guide was so helpful.
I made the firmware and uploaded all the files onto Github.
I had to redo my alarm clock’s case and plate in Fusion because the first version was a stl file not a step....

I’ve started working on the site! You can check it out at https://ethmarks.github.io/sdmu/ I decided that I am going to use SvelteKit, because it gets the job done and I have the most experience with it. As usual (if you’ve seen any of my other projects, I do this a lot), I’m using a classless CSS stylesheet for the base site styles. It’s like 5 operators of basic arithmetic, so it shouldn’t take long at all, though I’ll try to make the code modular so that later I can easily implement the modifiers like blessed and cursed.
I implemented the mult formula! I added the percentileToMult() function which basically just reimplements the Ruby code in TypeScript I added the multToPercentile() function, which performs the exact mathematical inverse of percentileToMult() I added 25 tests to make sure that my formula implementation was correct. I’m glad I tested it, because on my first attempt at the inverse function, I used a logarithm instead of a root 🤦 I made a Calculator.svelte component and put it on the site, which uses the functions I made Next I think I’ll work on the annotated Ruby code walkthrough. I also have an idea to use <math> tags to render the steps to compute the formula, which I think would be interesting.
I have mixed feelings about MathML . I’d never used MathML before, and I was a little worried that it would be extremely complicated and difficult. But really, it was just tedious and verbose. Devlogs:
I began by changing the design from long range to a freestlye drone mainly because of the budget, since i was not sure if the drone would qualify for x tier funding. for this drone i have most of the components so it will be cheaper to fund.
i finished working on the camera and battery mount (basic) the drone will be pusher so the stack mount will act as a base and the camera and battery will go on top.
I added this spacer so that i can use 30mm screws to mount the stack and keep them from interfering with the o4 mounting. Its still not to the actual measurments and i will probably have to add something for the battery to it.
I noticed that the o4 mounting was not adhering well so I increased thicknes and changed the slicer settings so that it had a higher temperature. Below images of the reprint and the first failure.
I had to completely redesign the drone because the board’s irl dimensions didn’t allow the previous alignment. I then redesigned the drone so that it’s still a pusher, but now it has more space for the board and the other components. I also added a dedicated battery compartment.
