From there, it slowly grew into an archive of strange files, mysterious documents, hidden pages, and interconnected stories waiting to be uncovered. The goal was never to create a website that simply tells a story. Instead, I wanted visitors to feel like investigators. Every file, image, and piece of information exists for a reason. Some clues are obvious, while others are buried deeper within the archive. The more time you spend exploring, the more connections you’ll begin to notice. One of the biggest priorities during development was immersion. I wanted the experience to feel authentic—as though the website had existed for years before being rediscovered. That meant carefully designing the interface, organizing the archive, and removing anything that broke the illusion. The finished website contains multiple sections to explore, each holding its own mysteries and secrets. While it may appear straightforward at first glance, not everything is as it seems. There are hidden details, unusual patterns, and unanswered questions scattered throughout the archive. Creating this project taught me a lot about web design, storytelling, and how small details can completely change the way people experience a website. It challenged me to think differently about navigation, user interaction, and environmental storytelling. For now, The Lost Website is complete. Devlogs:
okay so for the past 4 hours ive been speed running to make this usb ducky so basically im creating a usb rubber ducky that will essentially act as a hid and can type and inject commands into its host machine, but what’s different about this is as soon as it powers on it hosts a webserver, through which we can select what payload to inject, isnt it cool, okay so ill go over what ive done as of now: im using esp32 s3 wroom as the main brain as it includes wifi and is pretty fast and also has native usb support so it can act as an hid -i read the datasheets on how to design hardware around it and added decoupling caps for noisefiltering, an ldo for stable 3.3v power supply, i also added 3 leds, 5v indicator, 3.3v indicator and one connected to gpio21, i also added boot and reset buttons, lastly a usb A connector the hardest part was deciding which pins to breakout as not all of them can be used without causing problems if you dont know what youre doing, i found a github repo listing all the pins which can be used easily and what to look out for that made this whole thing really easy :)) so after that i decided to move on to the layout, i decided to make this board as compact as possible, as this is my first smd project im not going to make this super compact just in case if i mess something up, i decided to use 0805 for all the smd components,i think i am satisfied about the components placement as of now, i still have routing remaining, i have some things that i learned this time that was really helpful -it was always a pain to setup board constraints everytime i made a project so i found this github repo which you can just import the setting directly from according to your manufacturer https://github.com/sethhillbrand/kicad_templates -also i learned about setting about netclasses for the first time, i wanted my +5v and +3v3 traces to be 0.3 mm instead of the default so i made a custom netclass called power and defined all the parameters!
Completed routing and silkscreen: okay so last time everything was setup for routing and i just had to manually route everything, i had to make sure the usbD- and usbD+ were impedance matched with the specifications and also were almost the same length with some tolerance under the usb2.0,as the layout was pretty much done before i routed everything and solved every drc errors, after that i added ground pour for the board,as the ESP32 datasheet suggests adding gnd vias for proper thermal management and noise reduction, i added a hell lot of vias I also added fillets on the pcb for a better look, for the silkscreen i labeled every GPIO pin and also marked BOOT and RESET buttons, for better look i also added doodles on my board some of them are made by me! :))
okay so i used a kicad plugin called pcb2blender so i can export my kicad pcb to blender without having to add materials and stuff myself which makes the workflow sooo much smoother, after i imported them into blender i just setup camera with some point and area lights are just made these pretty renders with eevee!!!...

General Instructions -Not currently mobile friendly -While zoom is accounted for, I highly recommend keeping it at 100% only -Movement is….quirky. It’s being worked on rn, but as of now its a bit odd. It does not influence your ability to interact w/h objects so it shouldn’t impact your experience negatively! -Hover on the yellow buttons to view a description of the pop-up and click on them to actually view the pop-up. -Music, Information and the Quit on the top bar are interactive. -Its recommended to look at the README if you find yourself slightly lost What I’m proud of -I had so much fun making this. From planning this out on scraps of paper, to designing the art, to actually coding this out! It may not be very impressive or complex but I’m so so happy that I could envision something and make something as close as, if not better than my original vision. There are some design related components I wanted to include so much, but I’m slow and I want to make sure I don’t rush something that’s simply not my best! So I’ll add those in the next ship, so keep an eye out! -If there are any issues/bugs/suggestions, feel free to tell me!! I’d love to hear it. So I guess what I want to say is that I made this with tons of care at the tiniest of details, and I really hope it shows! The landing page lets you choose a sprite to carry with you to the actual page. You can move around, click on stuff and generally explore! What I added I majorly wanted to improve user experience so all updates are related to that, soo firstly, 🎼 I added sound effects when you click buttons, and background music. I also made a type of screensaver that opens up when you click on the object. Under the pop-up and the overlay some shapes float up and disappear before reaching the top! It was sooo satisfying to see it work Also added a custom cursor! Also realised I needed to actually link my other spritesheets for the boy one so did that too. I added a general info button on the top bar. I added a profile thing, updated my projects page, tweaked my contact me page’s backend a bit I also finally downloaded git! Idk how but the first time I tried using it, the code in my repo went back to the outdated version💀 💀 . Nearly gave me a heart attack. I’m a bit scared to mess my code up, so I’m going to stick to uploading files manually. I really wanted to avoid shipping this until some other stuff on the more art side of things was done with, but I’m really slow. So I’ll ship this as an initial version, and add those things once I’m satisfied. I don’t want to rush and make something that just stresses me out/am unhappy with. Cheers!"}, {"post_id": 37734, "ts": "2026-07-30T17:24:44Z", "hours": 7.1242, "text": "What I’m Making Sooo-I’m making a personal page/portfolio but slightly gamified. Choose a sprite, a name, walk around and click on stuff!! There’ll be background added music soon! Not to mention tons of art/animations because I want this to have ✨ personality✨ What’s new tho? Sooo I drew a few more objects to link pop-ups to, like a globe to show my timezone and a telephone for my contact page☎️ A tree blossoming gif I made for my contact pop-up! Code-wise, I added a typing effect for text in certain parts. The UI/UX went through major improvements, I added a hover effect. For my pop-up I added a tab where you can draw me something and email it to me! I repurposed that for the painterly app in my webos lol . Shoutout to @Alisha for being super cool and letting me use her idea for this! * Tbh I’m running into some issues with receiving the pic, but I’ll troubleshoot it tmr for sure! Currently I’m receiving only the image data….and even if I draw a single line the image data is way too large for this to work. I’m trying to research how I can convert it to a file before it gets to me! But actually fixing it is a job for tmr! I’m going to lock in and try to ship this before this week ends. Think I can do it? No? Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it either Cheers! PS: I’m having a bit of trouble attaching the gif, so I attached my spritesheet instead!"}, {"post_id": 35064, "ts": "2026-07-26T07:49:16Z", "hours": 5.6986, "text": "What I’m making Personal website, made by someone who really wants to play a pokemon game that I used to play when I was little but can’t find now. What I did I made a new pop-up for my art!! This was for sure the hardest thing I’ve done because I had to learn abt APIs and stuff and I felt it was terribly confusing. Soo umm why did my art pop-up need APIs? I had this idea, that if sm was visiting the site, and they really liked a certain piece, they could like it! That’s why I had to learn abt APIs. Tbh I’m still confused what I’ll do when I upload it on Github, because I’m pretty sure its a Security Issue™ to just leave the info out in the open. Because this is a porfolio/ personal page I figured I’ll add a section abt education. I wanted to add some ✨ pizzaz ✨ to the pop-up!! So I drew a gif, recorded it to my lapse, and connected it to my hacktime!!!! I’m soooo happy with how it turned out!!!!! I didn’t think it would look nice, but it does! All in all, a preety good update. Cheers!"}, {"post_id": 33620, "ts": "2026-07-23T18:01:56Z", "hours": 6.8931, "text": "#What I’m making A personal website, slightly gamified! The basic premise is that you choose a sprite, a name, move around a room and interact with the objects there. Some of them are going to be purely animated stuff that I’m going to work on pretty soon!!! What I did Spent a bit of time improving the movement. Read: a lot of time. It’s a lot better now! Next I began with the interactive objects. I’m going to finish off the more code?/typing based work first before I begin with the animations for the pop-ups. I made a pop-up to show my projects! You click on the board abv the computer 💻 . What I’m making A personal website, but make it creative. Last time, I just finished the landing page, where you choose a sprite and a name! The general look I’m going for is kinda like the pixel pokemon games What I added So I began by storing the user’s name and choice of character. Then I remembered that I needed to convert my animated gifs into spritesheets. I’ve never actually made this before, else I would have just done them as I was animating I made the UI, which is a isometric room and a topbar. Then came the fun part! #What I’m making A personal website, slightly gamified! I made an overview tab, a devlog tab (I just copied my devlogs on stardance) and a links tab for the readme and deployment and stuff A lot of time was spent on the css, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I might add like a bit of texture to the pop-up, maybe I’ll make a plaid background? Anyway, have a great day!!!! Check out the video if you have time :) ps-idk why my screen recording doesn’t show my sprite walking It makes me sad 😭 😭
What I’m making Personal website, made by someone who really wants to play a pokemon game that I used to play when I was little but can’t find now. Cheers!
What I’m Making Sooo-I’m making a personal page/portfolio but slightly gamified. PS: I’m having a bit of trouble attaching the gif, so I attached my spritesheet instead!
What I’m making Okay, you guys know the drill-Sundial is a personal website . Cheers!
This project is ready to ship! Made some very tiny adjustments while I was editing my repo. Came across a few minor issues that I fixed, like my custom pointer cursor refusing to work, the mute audio once unselected didn’t allow the music to restart, tiny things Cheers! Repo pic !
Ships:
What I made -Sundial is a personal website/portfolio made to explore creative web designing. My initial inspo was a pokemon game, which is why the landing page is a choose your trainer type thing! The actual page is a room where you can move around and explore object. I hope you have as much fun trying this as I had making this...
