My Next Target 🎯 Accept website URLs as command-line arguments Connect the CLI to the core checker Display availability, HTTP status codes, and response times Handle invalid input and request failures Provide basic usage information and appropriate exit codes
Devlog #4 Basic CLI Interface Implementation and Setup Today, I implemented the foundational CLI interface for website-health-checker in cli.py to keep the user interface cleanly separated from the core logic! I configured argparse to handle multiple URL inputs, fixed an argparse import typo in commit 6f1a67a , and successfully verified the CLI execution in Google Colab by overriding pip caching with --no-cache-dir . My Next Goal 🎯 Add optional --timeout and --version CLI flags, and configure the package entry point in pyproject.toml
Devlog #5: CLI Interface Implementation, Error Formatting, and Exit Code Standardization Today, I finalized the command-line interface (CLI) for Website Health Checker! I implemented argument parsing for multiple URLs, configurable timeouts, and version flags. I also added structured error output formatting with N/A fallbacks, standardized POSIX-compliant exit codes ( 0 for success, 1 for failures) using system.exit() , validated the exit status behavior in Google Colab subshells, and successfully merged Pull Request #7 into main using Squash and Merge. My Next Target 🎯 Configure the testing framework Test URL validation and successful HTTP responses Test timeout, connection errors, and invalid input Test CLI arguments, output, and exit codes Create a GitHub Actions workflow to run tests automatically
Devlog #6 Core Checker Unit Testing and Test Environment Setup Today, I set up unit testing for Website Health Checker using pytest and unittest.mock ! I implemented test coverage in tests/test_checker.py to validate empty URL handling, successful HTTP status checks, timeout exceptions, connection errors, and batch URL processing. I also fixed case-sensitivity alignment between assertions and return values, successfully verifying all 5 unit tests passing in the Google Colab environment. My Next Target 🎯 Create tests/test_cli.py to test CLI interface behavior, stdout formatting, and POSIX exit codes Edit and refine .github/workflows/ci-test.yml for automated GitHub Actions pipeline Ensure all matrix builds pass on GitHub Actions...

In the AI agents era, managing your agents well and getting the most out of them is an important skill. So I decided to create StallTop, an htop for AI coding agents. I built it out of a need of my own: one day, I was using Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, and Codex all together for a big project I was working on; my agents hit their usage limit and sat idle for hours while I thought they were still working. For that reason, I decided to create StallTop, for managing resources, sessions advancements and limits. The idea: StallTop should list every session, how many tokens used (it’s also calculated the cost, based on the model used, I still didn’t manage cost increase when context becomes larger), and above all, which one is stuck waiting for you : it could be a permission prompt, or just a usage limit. I’m using Rust. I strated by creating the skeleton of the project, mainly by creating Cargo.lock and Cargo.toml, and starting by creating lib.rs and limit.rs The limit parser (limit.rs) was the first module. When Claude Code hits a usage limit, the transcript gets a line like You've hit your session limit · resets 2:40am (Europe/Rome) . That string is the whole reason the tool exists, so limits.rs turns it into a kind ( session , weekly , monthly spend ) and a real UTC timestamp for the reset. Three details took the time: “resets 4am” has no date. The parser looks at when the line was written: if 4am already passed it means tomorrow. Otherwise it’s today. The monthly-spend message contains two resets. “Raise your limit… your session limit resets 6:40pm”. I take the last one, because that’s the limit that actually blocks you. Time zone names are case-sensitive, my matching isn’t. I lowercase the text to find the keywords, and europe/rome isn’t a zone. So I restore the casing word by word, including America/New_York . [It has 9 tests: same day, next-day rollover, 12am, 24-hour clock, an explicit date, and three “garbage in” cases that must keep the limit hit but drop the reset time instead of crashing.] I also worked on model.rs, which contains all of shared types (agent, token counters, status, a session with its last 20 events) Then pricing.rs , which contains a price table for each model, with input and output cost for tokens and cache cost. Then I worked on status, which are the rules. A dead session beats everything, then “waiting for you”, then a usage limit, busy and then idle. Six tests The last two files were tail.rs and procfs.rs . The first one reads onyl the new lines of a growing file, while the otehr reads /proc behind a trait, so tests can use a fake process table. Next I’m gonna work on a minimal TUI."}]...
