Due to the fact that my other personal site wasn’t really good and didn’t even have interactive elements it was time for an upgrade. But why should the web need another plain and boring portfolio. All other sites I saw just looked fun but really messy or super AI-like (even if AI wasn’t used but yk that kinda style). I decided I wanted something in between that—fun but still with much information and a good UI. That is when I first ever got the idea for building my own city. I really liked this project and I promise to keep it going even without a YSWS. Right now this site is only for Desktops and not iPads, Phones or laptops. The README has instructions on how to use everything but the site itself has lots of tooltips (that small text that shows when you hover on something). I gave my best with storytelling and presentation - wrote a DEVLOG about every 2.3h. What this site can do and how: Music player - click on the disk in the mussel. Light mode - press l/L or click on the Flashlight. Moving animals - at the homescreen just wait they are actually animated and don’t just move like dragging. Hover effects - for examples on the heading. Custom cursor (submarine and it actually makes bubbles) - just move the cursor to see them. A 3D book with my projects - click on the museum building. A building for my GitHub profile with a little GitHub advertisement at the top - check out the building next to the museum + click on it. A way to contact me - click on the telephone cell and then hover on the bubble with the messages. Pdf file linked in a grid - click on the education site. An observatory that gets you to space - click on the observatory / check the README to get the space thing. Code resources for YOU to use - in the observatory, just click at one of the boxes and it’ll highlight automatically. Graphic resources for YOU to use - in the observatory, just click on the links. Code Basics for YOU to use - in the observatory, just go to Basics. A foldable menu at the observatory. Each site has a home button, music player and a flashlight effect + custom cursor (the observatory even has a different one cause we are in space). In general the site is made so everybody can get the features - some are a little hidden and it’ll pay off if you have an eye out for the details cause I really love them and used them a lot. Or have you recognized that the observatory is actually a window from a spaceship that looks down to earth, or that most of the stuff is animated…… I really am asking you to stay and try everything out. Enjoy this site and have fun with it. Thanks stardance - thanks to you I got back to coding and started loving it again. I even got a superstar. I think I’ll never stop to code now. Thank you so much for everything. I decided to start working on my next project while waiting for the other one to get accepted (from Google). This project will be an upgraded version of my personal site. I want to build something like an underwater city with houses, and each house holds information, so for example, you click on the telephone cell to get to an under site which shows my contact information, etc. I just worked on the graphics and stuff a little, and I kind of missed that. Do not get me wrong, I love my other project, but this is just so relaxing and calming at the moment. This site will also have a dark mode where your cursor turns into a flashlight, btw. As you can see, I added this super cool new feature: the dark mode. As I love dark modes, they are kind of boring on sites because they always look the same and often aren’t really designed (they just make EVERYTHING black -no, I don’t want to look at a black wall), so I added a cooler way for my site. It is currently working with an and not an but I’ll change that tomorrow as well as the cursor because the current cursor does look good but is super bad to use. Thanks for reading <3 SR FOR THE VD I REALLY NEED AN UPGRADE FOR THAT
That escalated quickly. Really really quickly. The music player is soooooooo good. I cannot be calm about this I am sorry. Look at all the fishes and uhh the light feature works with a flashlight or the key l or L now. The font has changed,it also got an hover effect the background music get’s you so in the zone and just imagine how I’ll build so much stuff into this. What do you think about the cursor? I made it myself and added that bubble effect that follows the submarine. Thanks for reading <3
And another update for today: Fullscreen should work now. It would really help if you tried it out (go to the site and then F11 on windows ,idk apple) and tell me if everything looks right. This was pretty complicated for me but at least I figured a way out. Thanks for reading and your help <3 and here is the link: https://253-mathilde.github.io/My-portfolio/
So what did I do today: For you I did norhing but for me I worked my life through responsive tutorials and started making the site responsive. Every piece is on its own and then per Z-Index + position styled. The observatory will hold code resources, resources for text, and all that kind of stuff. It’ll basically be a library. What do we think about the new site? Thanks for reading <3
Have I ever made a menu before? No. Can I believe that it is that easy. Also no. Do I actually love it? Yes, sssss. I just love the little space moment with the window and the little detail with the earth in the background. The colours are colouring, and I am just super proud that the menu works. I’ll now do the content and finish the content tomorrow and start the README. The content and the README will take much time, so I have to hurry. Thanks for reading <3
There is so much stuff in here, and I love it so much. The UI is so good, and I am just proud. I feel super tired because I worked so much today, but it also shows sooo much progress, and I want this project to be good. I really think that I can finish the desktop version and ship it in time. Thanks for reading <3
It looks so perfecttttt. Everything matches and works, and I found a solution to show the code, and all you need to do is click in the box to copy it. I added 9 boxes of code so far. I’ll add more, but I wanted to start with the CSS and Basics site too. I think the observatory is my favorite site of all. But I also love the other sites so much. Now I’ll keep working, and it would be great if you wrote me some coding ideas/wishes for the resources. Thanks for reading <3
So I think the shipping is pretty close, I only need to add some more resources and make the README (sounds easy, but the README always takes foreverrrr). I have finished the CSS layout and the layout for the Basics site. The CSS already holds some content and the Basics too. As already said, it is about 2 hours more coding and then presentation work. But that is work for tomorrow or the next days. Thanks for reading <3
So I have fixed some little mistakes in the UI. I also worked a little bit more on the observatory, and I think we are finished now. I really like how it turned out, and I already started working on the README. Nothing big, I just made some graphics. Yk, the img at the top is an animated gif, so that needed some more work, of course. I think that I can ship tonight, and I’ll give my best to get that deadline. Thanks for reading <3
So I just upgraded the README and fixed the images and stuff. I think it looks pretty good. Due to the fact that everything is explained on the site I was able to keep this pretty short. I’ll start doing the shipping preparations now. Thanks for reading <3
So everything is finished now and I’ll ship in a sec. I am super happy with the result and I would be so happy if you checked that site out -even if you don’t vote just for fun: https://253-mathilde.github.io/My-portfolio/ . Thank you to all these people pushing me I really loved stardance and REALLY locked in (206,49 h in total and mind you about 50to 60 h are missing due to my old laptop + a superstar ). And for a last time : Thanks for reading <3
Ships:
This is an upgraded version of my personal site. A giant thank you to the people who supported me from my OS through my App and even this project....

This includes: Move all of the function bodies into their respective cpp files Add nice commenting and description/example code to the signatures Figure out the final file/folder structures for our library I moved part of all of the function bodies this session and will continue doing so next, function signature and structure kept in the .hpp files and when the motions recieve each their own dedicated files they will be specified as part of drivetrain. Dedicated files are added for motions, helper functions, and odometry. Additionally, I finally decided to change the parameters for the driveTo functions so now they are finally compatible with the new Pure Puresuit function curve(). (currently untested, have to wait until next time I have the physical robot to test) I added the nice inline documentation/commenting to basically every single major function that the user of the template library would actually use. The nice thing about these kinds of commenting is that if that get confused they can go to where the function is defined(a.k.a. it’s signature) and read all about it. Additionally, the actual good part about these is that if they are using vsCode and hover over the function, it gives a really nice looking rendered blob pop up off how the function works, it’s required parameters, and how to actually use it with an example code. This way people would know exactly how to use the functions and what each of them does. Other than that I briefly updated the readME to make it less confusing to read but more work is required on it. Lastly, I started one of our main goals for this library – ability to support the fusion of multiple IMUs(we are trying to get it working for three and more). The current code would still work because it is still using the unit circle averaging that supports multiple IMUs but I want to build a comprehensive filter that would: actually reject the outliers during a run Only returns the deltas per run so the heading can actually be unwrapped(this helps a lot especially with the internal math and having the ability to manually choose which direction to turn other than the shortest way) Be able to bench IMUs if they display inconsistencies during runs and have them re-incoporated if their deltas per run start being consistent with the rest again and finally (untested, just an idea) to learn the IMUs bias when they are still to learn which way they tend to drift over time so during the actual run the total heading will subtract that constant drift to mitigate the errors that can accumulate over the run of the program."}, {"post_id": 82834, "ts": "2026-10-25T23:53:36Z", "hours": 5.0836, "text": "I finished all of the theoretical work in our library! (with the exception of MCL, which is a thing of its own and is definitely coming later!). Most of this devlog was bug testing by applying our pre-compiled binary into a new PROS project, 2026-2027OVERRIDE, where I could upload to the robot and see what’s not working and why. I also cleaned up the include header order and hierarchy. Boomerang: Fixed the carrot point shifting out too far and causing overshoot and reversing. The carrot point now updates as the robot moves, and the drive PID is clamped between maxSpeed and 0.0 when the carrot is behind us, so we turn instead of reverse. I also slew the driveOutput before computing left and right voltages so the turn ratio is preserved. Boomerang now has its own drive and turn settle values instead of driveStraight’s, since it’s a curve in x, y, and heading. It also uses the Turn PID instead of Angular Correction so following the carrot point gets priority. Added async and motion queuing protection, stuck detection, and static friction pushes for when the drive gains are too small. For motion chaining, we draw a line through the end point at the end heading and compare how far along it we are with earlyExitRange. Fixed the wide curves and sideways drift. Tank drives (especially with omnis) can’t correct for drift sideways, so boomerang now calculates curvature like pure pursuit and slows down on sharp curves. How much is tuned with params.curveK, which represents the robot’s sideways grip, so you can use bigger leads without skidding. Fixed the robot lurching forward at full speed inside closeDist, where the speed limiters turn off. maxV is now clamped to either the original speed or about half of max speed, whichever is less. Boomerang is now fully working! Pure Pursuit (now curve()): The LOST/STUCK bug came from very tight curves where the voltage wasn’t enough to overcome friction, so the robot thought it wasn’t moving. The fix is a kS deadband (around 1000 mV) like the rest of the drive functions. The attached picture shows how well it follows points on completely untested default values, along with screenshots of all the tunable parameters. driveTo functions (still deprecated, coming soon!): Added a built-in chain (turn, drive, and another turn for driveToPose) with its parameters as drivetrain members, so there are no hard-coded magic numbers. The cancelled or invalid motion check is cleaner too. swingToHeading(): Giving the non-pivoting side 0 voltage still counts as a movement command, so it wasn’t holding position. Now that side is set to brake during the motion and restored to its original brake mode after. Robot & testing: Added drive code and pneumatics to our robot for the upcoming competition. I also tested our custom objects and PROS object layering, which worked as expected. I commented out our future MCL instance because of compiler warnings. The boomerang test data on our data visualizer matched real life, and it settled within 1 inch with barely any tuning. Next steps: splitting the code into .cpp files to finish the OOP refactor, then MCL and the autonomous/MCL simulator!"}, {"post_id": 80016, "ts": "2026-10-15T23:59:37Z", "hours": 5.1622, "text": "Finish Pure Pursuit, Motion Chaining. Starting work on Boomerang Function: I worked more on Pure Pursuit(robot driving according to a path you’ve drawn through a imaginary circle it draws around its self and targeting where the circle intersects the path). I started by making my curve() function also return MotionResult so it is consistent with everything else in the library unlike before where it had it’s own return type FollowResult. I’ve also updated my helper function that can convert the enumberation from MotionResult into a string so the user can return the value and see what the potential error is from the logics. I’ve also continued with the math for Pure Pursuit starting with injecting extra points into the array of points that the user provides for the path that the robot has to follow to ensure a more even data type and there aren’t senarios where the gaps are so large the circle would not find any paths to target and declare the robot as MotionResult::LOST. To do this, I take apart the original array of points that the user provides and for any two points or segment; I divide it by the minimum gap we would accept(3 inches) to get how many new segments we would have to split it into in order that every segment is shorter than 3 inches. Then we simply linearly interpolate the points based on how many segments we have(ex. a, a + (distance/spacing) 1, a + (distance/spacing) 2…) Ect where we just multiply the gap by the number of spaces that we want. Lastly, I worked out a bug based on DAWGMA’s Pure Pursuit paper that sometimes the path which the robot has to take might be behind the robot(ie the robot is facing away from where the circle intercepts our path). Thus the PP is finished fixing all known bugs(untested yet) by finally organizing all of the helper function into a master function in the PurePursuit class called step(). Then the drivetrain layer(Drivetrain class) that actually owns all of the hardware calls the function, sorts the return logic for when we are done, the path is invalid, or we are chaining the motion to move forward. Though right now it is untested, I fixed the logic that would getActualSpeed() for the both sides of the drive by updating the encoders divided by the amount of time it has been and modifying the units based on the ratio to get an accurate RPM. We update the measured velocity each loop by blending the value we measure from the previus loop via an alpha variable(to smooth the reading to be free of noise). The user can also tune this at their will but the current default value is 40%(a.k.a. 0.4). Lastly, I decided to make our own boomerang function(an advanced motion type in VEX) where to robot will always follow a virtual carrot point and as the robot progresses, the carrot point will blend back into the desired along the path while giving the robot a swing to reach the desired end heading as well. (A type of move to pose – where pose is position for x, y, and heading). Complete Refractor – Making everything exist in Objects to create a template Library in VEX. Made implementation of functions better from last year and fixed existing bugs. Implemented proper asymetrical slewing to wheels and worked on a better Pure Pursuit. Added a custom YogurtLib UI with LVGL and a sensor fusion that can support Up to 3 and more IMUs.
Finish Pure Pursuit, Motion Chaining. Starting work on Boomerang Function: I worked more on Pure Pursuit(robot driving according to a path you’ve drawn through a imaginary circle it draws around its self and targeting where the circle intersects the path). The current code would still work because it is still using the unit circle averaging that supports multiple IMUs but I want to build a comprehensive filter that would: actually reject the outliers during a run Only returns the deltas per run so the heading can actually be unwrapped(this helps a lot especially with the internal math and having the ability to manually choose which direction to turn other than the shortest way) Be able to bench IMUs if they display inconsistencies during runs and have them re-incoporated if their deltas per run start being consistent with the rest again and finally (untested, just an idea) to learn the IMUs bias when they are still to learn which way they tend to drift over time so during the actual run the total heading will subtract that constant drift to mitigate the errors that can accumulate over the run of the program.

I made my own VEX Library! This was largely inspired by Lemlib and it includes advanced functinonality such as async motion, motion chaining, and motion queuing. This library includes it’s custom UI which allows you to see the sensor datas and select autonomouses during a competition. Functionalities still in development: Pure Pursuit for fast and precise curves, MCL(a particle filter that will relocalize the robot’s position based on probablity! and four beams of light from lasers(originally should be done with lidars), IMU Fusion(done, but not yet implemented into the core code), and much more!...
