My analyzer works by using 19 communication signals which include politeness, warmth , friendliness, warmth , frustration , hostility , pressure , urgency , blame and so on and the way this works is by using context aware scoring so it doesn’t simply look for keywords but rather it looks around a phrase to see if its being negated , hedged , used in a conditional way , quoted and so on . So for negation handling, words such as not ,never , can’t , don’t etc reduce the strength of the detected signal . For hedging detection words or phrases such as “maybe” “i guess” “probably” lower the certainty . Detecting conditionals such as “if” “when” “could” and so on can affect the confidence of interpretation. Also there is signal specific context where for instance hostility to yourself is treated as different form hostility to others and things like blame need evidence of a target , things like sarcasm should get special treatment as positive words can be used sarcastically and polite wording can be downgraded if the surrounding text seems sarcastic , to detect intensity we use indicators like multiple occurrences of “!” or “?” or strong words like “absolutely” or “totally” etc . Formality detection is done by categorizing words like “furthermore” , “respectfully” etc into formal and words like “yo” , “gonna” , “wanna” etc as casual and thus finally gives us a confidence score based on the number of patterns found , message length and contextual cues . The main benefit of this is that its completely local and doesn’t send your messages to an ai model elsewhere and all processing is done locally . I added the three switches and Cherry-profile keycap models, corrected the switch orientation so the pins lined up with the PCB, and positioned the OLED in its opening. After checking the assembly, I enlarged the OLED opening slightly to give it 0.3 mm clearance on each side. I also added the XIAO’s two pin headers, four M3×16 screws, and simplified heat-set insert models. I’m still not sure about the exact dimensions of the OLED, so fingers crossed this gets approved and it all fits together. I exported the complete assembly as a STEP file and updated the top-plate STL. I’m gonna work on organising the project files, finish the firmware setup (thinking of using KMK since I’m very familiar with python), and hopefully I should ship everything today yippeeee"}, {"post_id": 76718, "ts": "2026-10-04T12:26:14Z", "hours": 1.5519, "text": "I started designing lainboard (name is a work in progress dont hate man plssss :(( ), a compact 3-key macropad with an OLED display and an open section in the case to show the controller and PCB artwork. I kinda want it to have a “raw” aesthetic. There is 100% a better way to describe that which I’m sure I will find in the future. I set up the KiCad libraries, wired the switches directly to the Seeed XIAO RP2040, and connected the OLED. I then laid out a 90 × 50 mm two-layer PCB, added four mounting holes, routed the connections, and filled the back layer with a ground plane. For the silkscreen, I converted an image of Lain into a footprint and placed it below the controller. I also added OLED pin labels and replaced the basic header footprint with one showing the display’s dimensions. After fixing the label sizes, the enabled DRC checks passed with no errors, warnings, or unconnected items. I’ve now started the fully 3D-printed case in FreeCAD, creating the base. Devlogs:
I started designing lainboard (name is a work in progress dont hate man plssss :(( ), a compact 3-key macropad with an OLED display and an open section in the case to show the controller and PCB artwork. Next are the walls, PCB supports, and top plate openings.
Today I worked on the lainboard’s full 3D assembly in FreeCAD. I’m gonna work on organising the project files, finish the firmware setup (thinking of using KMK since I’m very familiar with python), and hopefully I should ship everything today yippeeee
Allll done. I organised the CAD, PCB, and firmware files and set up the git repo. I prepared the KMK configuration for the three keys and OLED,hopefully it all works when the kit arrives. I also exported the PCB’s Gerber and drill files, packaged them for manufacturing, and finished the BOM and README. Also added some color to the case in FreeCAD; don’t know if that’s the colour it’ll be printed with… will I have to paint it myself?? Anyways I’m submitting now....

I added comment clearing! Originally, the compiler would only read BF code that happened to be one of the 8 valid characters, but what if you happened to put a valid BF char in a comment? Well now there’s a loop that runs before the rest of the compiler that strips all lines of their text after a ; character, meaning all comments get deleted! Since the last devlog, I’ve practically finished the BF -> Assembly compiler, and even used subprocess.run() to call NASM and GCC to build the script! It currently looks for a file called in.bf and then compiles it into an EXE that gets dumped straight into a build/ folder along with the out.asm and out.obj files! How does the Compiler actually work? Right now, all the compiler really does is go character by character in the input file, and if the character is one of the special 8, ( <>+-,.[] ) I just append some assembly into the out.asm file that corresponds with the instruction. For example, for + I just add inc byte [ebx] which increments the byte stored at the location the EBX register is pointing at. (EBX stores the tape pointer, and you manipulate it with < and > ). The cool thing about writing the compiler like this is that it literally just ignores everything else, so I don’t have to write code to “clean” the input file of newlines, tabs, spaces, comments, ect. Now for [ and ] , they’re a bit special. The way these guys work is I have a stack and counter. Whenever I add a [ to the assembly, I first increment the counter by 1 and then push the value to the stack. Then I use fstrings to modify the assembly I’m about to add by doing this: cmp byte [ebx], 0 jz loopEnd{bracketCounter} Now to break this down, cmp is comparing the current cell ( byte [ebx] ) with 0. Then, the next instruction, jz only jumps to the given location in code if the two values compared previously are equal to eachother. The fstrings come into play because they modify this jump location to be loopEnd(whatever the counter is) , and this location becomes the corrisponding ] when that instruction is read. What’s next? Well, firstly I need to make a bunch of QoL changes to the compiler, like allowing the user to pass custom input and output names/directories, specify whether or not to fully compile or leave it as a chunk of assembly, ect I also want to make a slightly higher level BF-esque language, where you can do stuff like + 2, 5 to increase cell 2 by 5, if statements, batch outputting, ect, but that’s not gonna be the easiest thing… See Ya Later! - Elio"}, {"post_id": 76632, "ts": "2026-10-04T06:57:23Z", "hours": 0.3983, "text": "BrainF#ckery Devlog #1!
