I’ve been working on my game for a little bit now and I finally have the first level completely done with enemies that respawn you platforms to jump on and a finish that sends you to the next level!
I have now finished the second level wasn’t nearly as hard as the first with all the coding involved
I have been coding for a while now most of the almost 6 hours I’m logging now have been spent on coding a basic level select screen but now that I’m done with that I can start working on making levels 4-10 of my game then I’m done and can start a new project!
I’ve been working for a while now and have all my levels up to level 6 finished I tried really hard to post a play testing video but it just wouldn’t work so here is a pic of level 6.
I have been working on my game for a little bit now and I can finally say I finished I love what I have created now I just need to attach it to GitHub and then I can start a new project!

been working on adding physical practice tests to the website, mainly by importing the old paper SAT practice tests so they’re easier to use inside 1600.now. the idea is to make paper practice feel less disconnected from everything else. instead of downloading a pdf, taking the test, and then having your work live somewhere separate, these tests can start becoming part of the same system as the rest of your studying. it’s a pretty big import job, but once it’s in, you’ll be able to use older official-style practice in a cleaner way and keep more of your progress in one place.
designing a practice test results viewer in bluebook style :) as a person who despises UI design, recreating an interface effectively 1/1 is much more annoying than i expected
working hard or hardly working? couldn’t tell ya but im improving the stats page :)
been working on replacing the old homescreen iframes with fully built-in windows across the home page. iframes worked fine at first, but they started to feel slow, especially when actually interacting with them and the other animations i was having a lot of issues w/ all of the homescreen animations and loading 3 iframes at once the image attached is actually a full recreation of the bank just w/o all the other questions and some features just for the home page
been working on improving the search feature so finding old questions is actually less painful. one issue i ran into is that a lot of questions use KaTeX for the math, so even if something looks like normal text on the page, it’s not always stored in a way that’s easy to search. stuff like fractions, exponents, equations, etc. can be weird because the plain text version and the rendered math version don’t always match up.
just spent a solid 3 hours of my life trying to design a vertical carousel for the home screen and eventually ended up with so many bugs that i just chose to use a static image 💔💔💔💔
working on an interactive home screen feature where there’s a little filters section, and the user can control it ANDDD there’s an existing cursor that moves around and demos. currently facing issues with the demo cursor just leaving though…
FINALLY got the filter animation to actually work. still buggy in a few places (the time spent slider has some issues) but overall looks pretty cool :)
i’ve been cooking up some new features all day… literally all day… anyways now that school is out, i have so much more time to spend, so i added these features: practice set creator- ai scans the bank and detect and flags certain similar questions for practice improved vocab- actually made the vocab sections track and record progress, while recording the states of each individual term (this took a LOT of time to figure out the logic for) (ignore the bad video quality)
the daily question i always ask myself… work on something useful … or spend wayyyy too long on some random feature anyways today i did the latter: i built a cool animation for the homescreen that animates a variety of different graphs, with a natural drawing animation and background glow the hardest part (took me 2-3 hours just to build) was making a feature where the lines dim when behind text / buttons on the ui, as i didn’t want the brightly-colored graphs obscuring visibility
it’s been a while since i’ve posted a devlog, well anyways, let me update you all on what’s been going on. one of the more interesting things to talk about, i made a tutorial feature, and i spent excessive hours making all of the animations and page transitions as smooth as possible also, i actually setup (fixed) the report question pipeline in firebase, as my lack of any data entry made me a tad bit suspicious anyways, the majority of the time was optimizing the speed and performance of the website. one of my main goals was to make free sat prep accessible to everyone, and animations that can crash chromebooks don’t exactly achieve that goal anyways, like always, comment any features you want to see / bugs you want to see fixed / criticism / praise (much appreciated)...

Now I have my pins sorted out, lets get to schematics! Schematic Schematic was quite easy, just wiring things up Gemini assisted me in learning charlieplexing inputs, as there are very few resources on this topic. And so I got a pinout from there. I wired up the leds in a line, switches in schematic, and the OLED and encoder in a simple straight to pi. If you say the wakeword “JADE”, then a request like “What’s the weather today?”, it will process the audio into text using the mini mic on the rpi and a speech-to-text engine, send it to an agent (whose tools are filtered with an embedding model then passed to it) and speak the response using the speaker connected to a mini-amp on the raspberry pi. It was difficult learning how to work with a raspberrypi, because this was my first time doing anything with an rpi. I’ve been really busy these past couple weeks of summer and have not been able to post, though I was able to work on JADE a little bit every day until its pretty much as done as it is now. To start, the pipeline of JADE is finished, tested, and functional. For hardware, using a mini microphone, mini amp, mini speaker, a breadboard, and lots of jumper wires, I was able to make my first “hardware project” connected to a raspberry pi. The pipeline of waiting for a wakeword (“JADE”), then activating once hearing the wakeword and using a speech to text engine to process audio (all using the microphone), then sending the request to an agent, which will output a message that will be played using text to speech on the mini speaker, all works! Some things I tweaked were, for one, the agentic architecture. Originally, I had a global agent that controlled 5 sub-agents that specialized in specific tasks (e.g. calendar agent, weather agent, etc…) but ended up switching to a one-agent structure that uses an embedding model beforehand to filter for the 5 most relevant tools before passing the query and appropriate tools to the agent. I did this because running multiple agents using the strands API on a raspberrypi is extremely computationally intensive and makes the pi reboot itself. Additionally, the slack tools and slack agent were deleted because they were too complicated and did not fit into the scope of this small project. The calendar tools were also refactored to interface with Google Calendar. All in all, the pipeline works, and this was a great project wherein I learned how to write code and set up a raspberry pi, use agents, and use audio I/O, all which definitely improved my abilities as a programmer. I went to Boston last week which is why I wasn’t able to do too much, but I’ve done a lot with the actual hardware component the last couple days… I finished the first iteration of my tools. I have five mini-agents that control tools on the weather, web, calendar, writing (journals, notes, todos), and slack. These are controlled by a kind of global agent. Basically, it takes in the query from the user and selects one of the mini-agents to use, which will then select the tool to use. This was a kind of experiment to see how well agents would interface and control other agents, but it worked well from my testing! I was able to solder pins onto a mini-amplifier, connect a speaker to it, and connect that to my raspberry pi 4 using jumper cables. I wrote a test of the microphone in python and it makes noise! However, I think I must’ve messed up the soldering or something because the audio quality is pretty bad… I started on the Alexa/Siri-like component of the project by training an openwakeword wake-word model on the word “Jade” and am experimenting with having it work better in noisier environments. It does detect when I say “Jade”, which is awesome! Once I solder my mini-microphone and connect it to the pi, I should be able to run the full pipeline. Here are my next steps: Finish “Jade” Wake Word Model + test Train or implement speech to text model, test connection with global agent Connect + test microphone to see if speech to text and wake word run on rpi from mic Fix speaker or solder new speaker and test audio Connect agent response to speaker and test full pipeline"}, {"post_id": 8954, "ts": "2026-06-14T21:55:22Z", "hours": 2.2292, "text": "Writing tools complete- the agent is able to make, edit, and delete todo lists, notes and journals! Calendar class for my desktop assistant. Uses Strands API to create classes and methods whose tools the agent that connects to the rpi can use. This first class/tool the global agent can use is finished, a basic calendar to keep track of important stuff.
Weather class completed + tested- agent able to tell current weather conditions and forecasts
Web Tools class done + tested! Agent is able to search for a definition (webster dictionary), topic (wikipedia), current news headlines (news API), stock prices (yfinance) and summarize results!
Finished slack agent/slackbot + tested. Able to read messages from channels and DMs, write and send messages in channels and DMs, reply to threads, get latest messages, search for a keyword.
Writing tools complete- the agent is able to make, edit, and delete todo lists, notes and journals! Mostly tested so far.
