Hey everyone! Today I finally wrapped up my smart bench power supply project. I spent time double-checking all the wiring for the XL4015 buck converter and DSN-VC28 meter inside my custom 3D-printed case, and tested the independent 18650 cooling system to make sure thermal management is rock solid. Also finished up the GitHub README documentation. It feels amazing to see everything come together, and I’m super excited to ship it out!

I built a custom smart bench power supply powered by an ASUS adapter and an XL4015 DC-DC step-down converter, featuring a DSN-VC28 dual meter and an independent 18650-powered cooling system inside a custom 3D-printed enclosure. The trickiest part was routing all the wiring cleanly within the compact case while managing proper thermal airflow. Devlogs:
so after ElenaOS i wanted to have an actual more professional site (cuz iykyk elenaOS is lowk unprofessional) and thus i came here to create the more professional version this website is only gonna have 3 tabs (i’ll add more if needed) and today i just set up the framework and chose a color theme (cuz aesthetics r rlly important trust) i also coded a nav bar and started formatting some other pages like the home page and stuff im having a bit of trouble getting github to deploy the fricking site so i can’t test until that gets fixed so for now ima just plan out the general layout and stuff bc i tend to have the most trouble with that anyways i really like this color theme!!
all right. so about the 3 sections… my git was having a lot of trouble deploying the page, so i decided to reduce it down to one page. this probably isnt wise, but i added all the css straight in the header of the html (i will change this someday) other than that, i pretty much finished, with a couple sections and custom css and stuff…i’ll prob spend a couple more minutes fixing formatting and stuff and yayy ima ship it and after this ship im going to add actual navigation and project demo carousels and lots of cool stuff
post-ship!! this ship got approved sm faster than the other one lmao today i added new pages, as well as a proper navigation system. rn the content is mostly larp, but i will add more authentic stuff as time goes on (there is alr quite a bit of stuff in there tho) but as of right now everything works!! (knock on wood) i reformatted the home page to be less crowded and moved a lot of the content to their respective pages – i also encountered a tiny bug with the nav but that got fixed pretty easily without me having to go to claude… im gonna fix the dropdown on the projects page tmr, i dont really like how it looks rn (lowk chopped) i also want to change a lot of the css (mostly font and stuff) and add more graphics bc rn it looks really dry and the colors rn are kinda clashing…
today i just mostly focused on adding more content, no graphics yet, but i hyperlinked a lot of stuff i also changed the css a bit and fixed the formatting of the dropdown on the projects page. honestly imo everything looks better now with this new font and the changed coloring of the nav bar (has sm more of a cozy vibe!!) help guys i genuinely don’t know what i can write for inspo without sounding cringe and stuff ToT
today i didn’t have much time to work on this, but i added some more inspos and stuff, and i also am trying to figure out how to add graphics the domain grant showed up, but im probs gonna save it for when the website is actually done to get a good domain and publish it the inspiration section is now very tuff and inspirational, im experimenting with graphics on the home page, so don’t mind if stuff looks off
today i added a card format for my devlog, now u click on an article and it expands for you to read instead of having like 10 articles literally smacked in your face. i also added more content and images, im still trying to figure out the css grid (forget wordpress, css may be my biggest op) but for now everything looks pretty good! i really still like the cozy vibe im considering adding a section but idt there would be any point cuz theres nothing else to yap about
yesterday and today i’ve been doing other things, so i haven’t gotten as much time to work on this i added a footer to my website with links to my external accounts and stuff, and i think i’m finally starting to get the hang of css!! i finally figured out the difference between margin and padding lmao i also changed my header a bit, renamed my home page and isolated it from the rest of the nav links so it looks more professional i think i’m very close to actually shipping the project, my goal for tomorrow is to just find images and add image credits to the site i do want an opinion tho, do you guys think i should add more images to the website?
today i optimized the site for mobile viewing and tinier screens. when i would make my screen smaller before, it would format awkwardly, so i decided to optimize it it runs fine on localhost rn but my github is like just lagging and not deploying i will add more graphics believe me guys and a favicon before i ship…looking forward to this!!
okay so forget the graphics i’m gonna ship it as is i added a favicon and some more content today!! and i think it’s finally time to ship!

The analogue clock also changes with the countdown, and when a session reaches zero it stops automatically and shows a completion message. I also expanded the Study page. Each subject now has separate options for reviewing notes, doing practice questions or starting a focus session. I built the navigation between these different areas and made sure you can move back through the app properly without losing the overall flow. A lot of this session was also visual polishing. I redesigned the subject cards, improved the Today section and navigation bar, and added responsive styling so the layout still works when the browser gets much narrower. There were a few annoying CSS problems along the way, especially getting the timer clock layers and study cards to behave properly, but debugging those was probably where I learned the most. I think Focus is at a good point to leave for now. There are definitely things I could expand later, especially the notes and practice-question sections, but the main study experience is working and I’d rather keep it focused than keep adding random features."}, {"post_id": 76008, "ts": "2026-10-02T00:59:48Z", "hours": 4.2447, "text": "This is my first devlog and somehow it’s already around 4 hours 😭. I set up the main dashboard and navigation, added my subjects, made a Today section, and then started building the Study page. The biggest thing I worked on was the study timer. I got preset options for 25, 45 and 60 minutes working, added a custom duration option, and made the timer switch into the actual study view once a duration is chosen. I also added Start, Pause, Reset and Change Duration controls.I then worked on an analogue clock to sit alongside the timer, including a digital time display and a moving clock hand. Getting everything to actually behave and look right took a fair bit of trial and error, especially since I’m still getting used to React and CSS. There’s still heaps I want to improve, especially the overall design because I want Focus to feel way more polished, but I’m genuinely pretty proud seeing it actually work.
