I did my first version of MiyabiOS, my first WebOS with some help of kimi k3. Some bugs of the embedding system and the wallpaper change system were really difficult to solve, but with the help of kimi we solved it very fast. This is my 2nd time coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, i usually code in python. There are still some changes i need to make, and some sites, like youtube homepage, aint opening on the “add app” function, if you wanna use youtube you need to paste a video url or embedding url. Goal Create the visual foundation for the WebOS project. Work completed Created the initial project structure Created a custom environmental desktop theme Added three desktop application icons Created the first application window Added a taskbar and Start button Added a running application indicator Added internet and sound indicators Added a live clock and date Added responsive behavior for smaller screens Added placeholder feedback for features planned in later hours Technical decisions The desktop uses CSS gradients rather than an external wallpaper image. This keeps the project lightweight and prevents the interface from depending on an external image host. CSS custom properties store shared colors and dimensions. This will make future theme and layout changes easier. The clock logic is isolated inside an updateClock function. It runs once when the page loads and then updates every second. The window control buttons are visible but disabled. Their functionality will be introduced gradually rather than placing unfinished behavior into the first version. Challenges The main challenge was keeping the desktop usable on both large and small screens. A media query changes the desktop icon arrangement, application window position, and taskbar labels on smaller screens. Next development hour The next hour will introduce a reusable window system with multiple application windows and working open and close controls.
Built a reusable multi-window system for GreenSpace WebOS. Added working Welcome, Notes, and Nature applications that can be opened from desktop icons, closed using window controls, and brought to the front when selected. Added dynamic taskbar buttons for each open application, active-window highlighting, and automatic window stacking using z-index. Also refined the Welcome window layout, improved scrolling behavior, and replaced temporary alerts with an in-desktop status message.
Added reusable draggable-window behavior to GreenSpace WebOS. All application windows can now be moved using their title bars with mouse, touch, or pen input. Added pointer capture, active-window focus during movement, safe desktop boundaries, visual dragging feedback, and automatic position correction when the browser is resized.
Added complete window-control behavior to GreenSpace WebOS. Application windows can now be minimized, restored from the taskbar, maximized, and returned to their previous position and size. Taskbar buttons now change behavior based on window state, and double-clicking a title bar maximizes or restores the window.
Replaced the temporary Start notification with a complete searchable application launcher. The Start menu can open every WebOS application, filters apps as the user types, closes through outside clicks or the Escape key, and updates the Start button’s accessibility state.
Converted the Notes preview into a functional text editor. Added a title field, editable note content, automatic saving, manual saving, Ctrl + S support, clear confirmation, word and character counters, save-status feedback, and persistent browser storage.
Converted the Nature application into an interactive environmental challenge tracker. Added six activities, completed states, green points, a live progress bar, automatic broswer storage, restored progress after refresh, and rest functionality.
Added a Settings application with selectable Forest, Sunset, and Ocean wallpapers, light and dark window themes, a desktop-grid toggle, automatic browser storage, restored preferences after refresh, and appearance-reset functionality.
Added a working Calculator applcation with standard arithmetic operations, decimals, negative numbers, percentages, keyboard controls, calculation history, persistent browser storage, reusable history results, and divide-by-zero error handling.
Added persistent desktop-state storage to GreenSpace WebOS. Window positions, sizes, open states, minimized states, maximized states, active-window state, and stacking order now survive browser refreshes. Added a Reset Windows control to restore the default desktop layout.
Added global application keyboard shortcuts, active-window controls, keyboard-focusable title bars, ARIA live announcements, dynamic taskbar accessibility states, visible focus indicators, editable-field shortcut protection, and Start-menu count synchronization.
Finished the project
I created the first working version of Om’s WebOS using separate pages. The intro page explains the porject and includes a Start WebOS button that links to the main desktop page. I also added a Back to Intro button so users can return without refreshing. On the desktop, I created a green-to-blue gradient background, a bottom taskbar, and custom icons for the Welcome and Notes apps. I learned how to organize images inside an images folder and display them using tags. I also styled the icons with rounded corners, hover effects, and consistent sizing. One issue I fixed was an incoorect image file extension. the HTML used .png, but the real file was a .jpg. After correcting the path, the Welcome icon loaded properly. Next, I plan to make the Welcome and Notes icons open working application windows with close, minimize, and maximize buttons.
I expanded from the basic introduction into the beginning of an interactive browser-based operating sytem/ The project now uses two separate pages: an introduction page with a Start WebOS button and a desktop page with a Back to Intro link. On the desktop, I created a graident background, bottom taskbar, and six custom application icons: Welcome, Notes, Nature, Calculator, About Me, and Settings. I added custom image files for each icon and styled them with consistent sizing, rounded corners, and hover effects. I also started the application window system. The Welcome app now has a window containing a title bar, tontent area, and close button. Javascript finds buttons with data-open-window, opens the matching window, and allows the close button to hide it again. I also corrected malformed button attributes and connected the Welcome icon to welcome-window.
A Notes application was added to the WebOS using the reusable application-window system. Clicking the Notes desktop icon now opens a separate window containing a title field and writing area. The Notes window uses the same close-button behavior as the Welcome window, demonstrating that one JavaScript system can control multiple applications. The interface was styled with labels, rounded input fields, focus effects, and a larger text area for writing notes.
The Notes application now has a working Save and Clear controls. Notes are stored in the browser using localStorage, allowing the title and note content to remain available after the page is refreshed or repoened. The Clear button removes both the visible text and stored note. A status message gives the user confirmation after saving or clearing.
The WebOS now has draggable application windows. Users can now move the Welcome and Notes windows by dragging their title bars. Clicking or opening a window also brings it in front of other open windows using dynamically updated z-index values. The close button remains clickable without accidentally starting a drag.
The draggable window system was improved with desktop boundary protection. Application windows are now constrained to the visible desktop area and cannot be dragged beyond the screen edges or underneath the taskbar. The project also responds to browser resizing by checking all visible windows and moving them back into a safe position when necessary.
The WebOS window system was expanded with minimize and restore behavior. Open applications now recieve buttons in the taskbar. Clicking the minimize control hides the application while keeping its taskbar button available. Clicking the taskbar button restores the minimized window and brings it to the front. Closing an application removes its taskbar button completely.
It can now maximize and restore behavior. Welcome and Notes can now fill the usable desktop while leaving the taskbar visible. Before maximizing, the system remembers each window’s original position and dimensions. Clicking the maximize control again restores the previous window state. Maximized windows cannot be dragged until restored.
I added the third working application to Om’s WebOS. The Nature app contains three daily environmental challenges that users can complete using checkboxes. JavaScript counts the checked challenges and updates the progress message automatically. I also added a reset button that clears every challenge. The app reuses the window system I previously created, so it can open from the desktop, move aorund the screen, minimize to the taskbar, maximize, restore, and close. This helped me understand how one reusable window system can support multiple applications without writing separate window code for each one.
I improved the Nature app by adding challenge progress. Previously, all completed challenges whenever the broswer was refreshed. I added unique IDs to eaach checkbox and used JavaScript to save their checked states in localStorage. When the pages loads, the app reads the stored progress and restores each challenge automaticallt. I also updated the reset button so it removes both the checked boxes and the saved browser data. This ypdate helped me learn how multiple values can be stored together as a JavaScript object, converted into JSON, and loaded again later. The Nature app now behaves more like a real application because users do not lose their progress after refreshing.

Devlogs:
Basic Markdown functionality with AI and streaming. First project that’s not using Material Design, I’m trying out Kor UI instead!
I added Hemingway mode (you cant use backspace), added import/export markdown files, and syntax highlighting.
I used Vite PWA to make markdowned a PWA and now it caches assets. It also handles Markdown files from your system.
added some final touches and fixed some bugs!
Added the ability to print and rename the document!
Ships:
I made an AI first Markdown editor. It is fully client side and uses the Groq API and Llama 3.1 8b Instant which is very fast. The AI can summarize and modify the document. It is also installable as a PWA and supports the Web File Handler API....

Devlogs:
Hey, first devlog here I got inspired by big games like KSP, and got really interested in orbital mechanics There are lots of people that don’t understand how orbits work out there, and the idea of getting 2 spacecrafts within 5 meters of each other while each is moving so fast, at a humongous distance, is honestly an insane feat I hope my project can help represent how these mechanics work, show and teach phasing orbits and intercepting properly Here is the first implementation, using matplotlib graphs to display orbits. I’d then like to move that to a webpage, using a Three.js implementation for it to look nicely, and possibly get a nice 3D rendering. I hope this helps someone learn something eventually
Good progress (0.1.0) I moved the project from running locally and moved it to a webpage. Instead of using semi-kepler formulas, I changed it to the Velocity Verlet formula (a (kick-drift-kick leapfrog integrator) integration due to value instability. Switched to Javascript over from python for the webpage. Currently rendering in threejs for a future 3D implementation Hope to add multiple crafts soon for rendezvous tutorials Check it out, the demo is live :D
I organized everything in the main code file into neat functions (0.1.1) (it was some sort of linear madness before), but now its better I noticed the craft was being somewhat obscured behind the planet (it is already 3D), so I switched to an ortographic camera and adjusted some other things My next step will be enabling craft control, so that orbits can look nicely
Attitude / Thruster System Implementation (0.1.2) Added a propulsion system to our boy sputnik. Values visibly change in the telemetry box Controllable with WASD Next steps would be to make a trajectory prediction / Orbit preview system (KSP Like), crash detection, and visible thruster feedback As always, demo updated, check it out
UI Revamp, Pannin’ and Zoomin’ (0.1.2/b) Added the ability to pan and zoom the viewport, added an inoperable view settings box (hopefully for the next update), and made the UI look a little bit cooler Next steps are making a trajectory orbit display, instead of the trail shown (history trail) As always, demo webpage updated, check it out :D
Earth updates, coordinate change for 3D, better trails (0.1.2/c) Added nicer visuals to earth (kudos to @0xSabrina for advice, will add landmasses or clouds in the future), made trail look better with fading, and changed the coordinate axes (initially x-y because 2D, but then I wanted to change it to a top down view, and for a drop-in 3D implementation, now x-z (top down view for an equatorial orbit) The earth now spins as well Hopefully, next update works on the trajectory prediction, and then add the 3D camera Long term, I’d like to add small lessons on orbital mechanics As always, web demo updated, check it out :D
Trajectory path and conic patch labels (0.1.3) You can now toggle between craft path trail and the future trajectory path, for a KSP-like view. The conic patches also have color labels now This took more time than I expected, debugging is nuts Next objective will be to make a 2D/3D switch where you can move your camera around As always, web demo updated, check it out :D
Big UI Revamp + Orbital Schematics (0.1.4) The UI has been revamped for aesthetics, and fonts, boxes, and corners have been changed. An orbital schematic box has been added to show an orbit’s preview, a simple thrust trail is shown, and earth is now made of colorful triangles I haven’t worked on this for a while now, so there’s a big update The next step is probably to add new celestial bodies like the moon for lunar injections, and new UI boxes As always, web demo updated, check it out :D

I succesfully made an Orbital Simulator based off leapfrog algorithms and put it on a website. The orbits are simulated (not static), and will change if you apply a change to its velocity This is my first step in making a website to teach orbital mechanics, my future goal being to simulate 2 craft succesfully rendezvousing on different orbits, and to make it a fun way to learn other different mechanics Hope yall like it...

starting the functionality of a blogging/posts system on my site! right now im just getting back into the swing of things with programming (school has made me SO DAMN BURNT OUT OF EVERYTHING FOR THE PAST MONTH!!! AGH!!!), and have implemented a backend route to fetch .md files from a folder on the backend this returns the name and description of the post, which will show up in a list of posts of some sort, they are declared in the first two lines of the md file, the rest is what is displayed in the actual post! im using go for the backend (which is what i used last time i made something with a web backend, it was nice!!) with the gin library, so far, its awesome!!
added the endpoint that fetches the contents of a post! this removes the title and description that is present at the top of the post, returning only the actual contents!!
aaand back to my faaavorite type of programming… web dev…!!! (…. wink wink nudge nudge i dont like webdev :P) but uh.. got a basic navbar going! i think all tailwindcss and svelte knowledge just immediately leaves my brain whenever i don’t use it for more than a day but. it redirects to the other links! it glows based on what page its actually on… its a component… and… yea! the “my thoughts” section will be where all this post/blog stuff whatever will go! still haven’t added that frontend part yet… but that’s a later problem!
got mosttt of the frontend stuff required for the my thoughts section! this includes… cards for each post! wraps nicely if the descriptions have different lengths/different screen sizes, etc the popup for when you open a note! blurs everything behind so you can read it markdown rendering with the marked library! this will take the text from the .md files on the server and render them in html! very awesome library :3 next, i’ll have to probably make some polishes to this ui.. and then hook it up to the backend!!! (i’ll also have to add a few more pieces of metadata to each post, including the date it was created and an optional image to go along with it)
the frontend part of the my thoughts section is now hooked up to the backend! posts are loaded from metadata sent from the server, and the post contents are now also from what is on the server! also did some other minor things like fix newlines not rendering the way i wanted them to with my markdown actually include post date in the metadata of the .md files, just stored as a unix timestamp still have a few more things to do with this feature like allowing there to be actual images from the server for each post, and making the post contents scrollable… which is important…!!!
finishing(?) touches to the my thoughts section! post images can now be served from the backend! posts without an image will have a proper placeholder at some point, but for now… Biribiriuo.webp :P there is now a scrollbar if the contents of the post is big! improved the readability by making the background when a post is open more dark
some tiny tiny little finishing touches! make text not wrap weirdly on the topbar on mobile sort posts in order of newest first (based on the timestamp thing in the metadata) made project cards not overly huge on desktop. it was. really big. oops made it so hovering over buttons on the my thoughts page still has the hover mouse cursor like any other button!! added fl studio to my list of software that i like. i added it to the images folder a long time ago and just … forgot about it i guess?? now.. everything should be good to ship, just gotta deploy the backend on nest! spent a… while… getting the backend set up on nest.. but now everything is up and running on the domain, and i can easily add new posts via sftp!!! also did some other final things improving the markdown rendering, including line breaks, more heading levels, link underlines, images… etc…!! (which also meant the backend now serves images from a /assets url !!) but with that… im done!!! :D

now this site was a project that i have made in the past, but i updated it to add a new feature where i can post anything that i think! this is fetched from a backend that serves a list of .md files along with metadata, which i can easily add/delete/edit to my hearts content! overall this wasn’t toooo challenging of a project for me, mostly just wanted to make something small quickly to brush up on my programming because i kinda didn’t make anything for the entirety of may… (thanks school)… but it was very fun to work on! excited to update it and add more thoughts as time goes on :3...

I added the Hack Club Section to my website! I had already started working on this site, but sadly it won’t let me use my past time :( I also made a cool button :)
I made a lot of progress! I added some 88x31 buttons and I made some other adjustments!
I added a What I Can Do Section and I messed with the Sidebar on mobile I also made my PFP SPIN! Demo: https://chr0ma.com
Added Projects Page and Changed Navigation a Bit ℹ️ This took FOREVER. My neck hurts. I added a whole new page, and changed up the colors on the navbar so that you can tell what page you’re on! Demo: https://chr0ma.com
🔔Project Update! I made the text for my name move around in a wave and I added a neon border, instead of a static green. 💩Disclaimer I used some AI to help me with the animations and borders because I didn’t know how to do that and I didn’t feel like looking it up so uhhh… (I didn’t use an Agent and I didn’t copy and paste, I actually typed everything out myself) 🌐Try it out! You can now visit my website at https://chr0ma.com
🔔Project Update! ℹ️ Updates Added CONTACT ME section containing Discord & Email contact methods. Added neon borders to all buttons and to the CONTACT ME section. A few other bug fixes and improvements. Almost all boxes expand when you hover over them to make my project feel more alive! 🌐Check it out! Check out my website by going to: https://chr0ma.com
🔔 Project Update! ℹ️ New Features Completely revamped THINGS I CAN DO section. Added images to make it look better :) Buttons now expand on hover. 🌐 Check It Out! Check out my website by going to: https://chr0ma.com
🔔Project Update! ℹ️ New Features Added “Other Cool Things” section to home page. Added more options to the “Contact Me” section. Added the official Hack Club Webring to the footer. Updated my profile picture on the site! Made a custom email so that people don’t send a bunch of stuff to my personal email! 🌐 Check it out! Click here to check out my website!
🔔 Project Update! ℹ️ New Features Added a new “favs” page to show off stuff that I use or like. Changed the alignment on all boxes style (now they stay at the top) 🌐 Check It Out! Click Here to try out my website!
🔔 Final Devlog ℹ️ New Features Added Blog Added First Blog Entree Bug Fixes & Improvements 🌐 Final Product Access Demo Link Source Code Readme
PROJECT UPDATE Gonna be completely honest, I used a good amount of AI for this one to get my status because I can’t do JavaScript because I’m too much of an idiot. I tried to do enough as possible by myself but this website and like everything is just hard for me because I have to share a computer with my siblings and yeh… My original plan was to get a MacBook for making this website but I guess that’s like impossible because I don’t have enough time this summer… 😟
🔔 Project Update This update does not add much, but it does update current features. Much of the time logged for this was for features I attempted to add, but failed. New Features This update introduces a huge bug fix to the status dot and live activities. The status dot now shows as green when I am on Discord or Slack . Previously, it only showed for Discord, but now if I’m not on Discord it will also check to see if I’m on Slack. The Live Activities now show when I’m on a game on Luna or playing music on Spotify. Failed Features I had many ideas that failed. This interests me because I started with Scratch and then moved into Web Development. Until this point, I had no idea that even with HTML , CSS , and JavaScript - There are still limits. Eventually, I plan to make a new website with React or Next.js and actually implement these features. Animations when you open the page. Page Transition Animations. Live Activity for Visual Studio Code. - This one would work, I just don’t have a MacBook so I can’t have Discord open as an app because my laptop is way too slow. 💡The Plan I am currently using Codédex from the GitHub Student Developer Pack to become a Full Stack Developer. After I learn, I plan to come back and try again on this website. In the meantime, I plan to make some cool projects this summer along with learning through Codédex. Hopefully I win a MacBook!

🌐 Personal Website 📋 Features I made my first personal website! It features a green neon theme with lot’s of hover effects and other immersive features. It contains a Homepage, Projects, Favs, & Blog Pages. I have tons of information about me on this site! 🤬 Challenges I faced many problems when making this website, but the biggest one was Flexboxes. Flexboxes are used to arrange your content on the page. I always had issues with something being on the wrong line, or having to make another to change the layout from row to column! It was a lot of work, but now it’s done and it looks beautiful! 💻 How to Access You can access my personal website by tapping the “Try Project” button or by going to: https://chr0ma.com...

Devlogs:
I’m building a terminal user interface for Traewelling ( https://traewelling.de/ ) using Ratatui in Rust, with Vim-style keybindings (: for command mode, q to quit, :login for token-based authentication). The basic UI is working well with a header, dashboard body, and mode-specific footer, but still needs polish before the next iteration.
I just finished a big feature in my project! The login now works perfectly, and after successfully logging in, you’ll see your dashboard displaying check-ins from people you follow (plus your own, of course). The dashboard isn’t complete yet - I plan to add status messages and a progress bar showing if someone is currently traveling.
I added symbols for the travelling mode (e.g. suburban, regional rail, tram bus) and you can now also see the status message another one has posted together with the checkin!
I completely redesigned the dashboard! It now looks more like “normal” Traewelling clients and in my opinion much nicer :)
There is now an option to save the api token and auto-login with it! The login prompt also shows now automatically when you’re not logged in, making it easier to get a start :) The token save prompt only shows after a successful use of the token, so you can’t really save a wrong token.
I added a lot documentation and an asciinema video: https://asciinema.org/a/BytB6HM8kpoXtlLC
I added an option to get the token from your clipboard instead of only relying only on pasting, because that pasted every single character and took some time :)
I added a :like command! You can now like checkins using :like <index> , where you can find the index beside the username in the checkin header!
The message is now shown in a popup instead the bottom line, which looks much nicer :)
You can now type :like without arguments and find a popup to select which checkin you want to like!
I fixed the error reported by @pauljako that the login is not working anymore which is likely caused because of recent api changed by traewelling. The travel mode (bus, train …) and the source/license of the checkin are now not always included so I set them to optional. It was really difficult to debug because I couldn’t get serde to show the full problem … but it worked after some tries 🎉 (some licensing things: The background image in my terminal is the KDE Plasma workspace wallpaper “Scarlet tree” made by axo1otl [email protected] and licensed CC-BY-SA 4.0. I fixed one bug where the travel mode is not added in the enum so I added a default field “Other” to show this instead of crashing the app. I also added a bit more docs where to get the token :)

Devlogs:
I have been working on this project for a couple of months so far. This game is basically a survival game where the player is an astronaut who crash lands on the moon and has to repair their spaceship in order to go to other planets. Currently I have implemented a simple grid movement and also some initial tile management. The main thing that I added was a way of keeping the player in view by hiding any objects in front of the camera through the use of raycasts. I still have to work on the actual tile generation and eventual puzzle mechanics to complete the game.
For the past couple of days I have been working on implementing different systems that make up the core of the gameplay. Namely, the grid generator and the animations. Now the player has the freedom to move in any direction they wish, with tiles randomly generating in all directions. This is moving the project closer to the exploration game I intend. I still have to add ores, power stations, hazards and puzzles, but this is a step in the right direction.
Currently I have been working on not just tile generation which was my main focus before, but now I am looking at ore and resource generation. In my game I have some key resources, those being: copper iron power cells gems / crystals (idk which one to call) So what the game loop will be is that across the moon’s surface there will be certain resource deposits. In order to obtain those resources there will some obstacle in the way. For example, around iron deposits there is a higher chance of crater formation. Power cells can also be used to power generators and such but I have not got onto that yet.
Well I said I wouldn’t be doing more work on the tile generation system but well, I just couldn’t help it. Previously the tiles only generated in a small radius around the player, which meant that it lost the immersive feel of space exploration, where it should feel like a truly endless expanse. This is why I changed this system to instead spawn a semicircle of tiles in front of the player. This allows for a larger range of tiles and better view. I have also implemented my ore generation in this system, so iron and copper can now be found on the surface. I also added key optimisation features such as object pooling, which means that the tiles don’t constantly need to be instantiated but are instead pooled and reused which significantly improves performance. The next thing I want to work on now is adding more resource spawns and a crafting system so the resources can actually be used for improving your spaceship and building your lunar colony!
Really testing the limits of my optimisation here. I was just playing around with some settings and wanted to see if the game would still run at a spawn radius of 100 and surprisingly it does. I have added a world object manager that now handles despawning ores and other items, keeping it separate to the tiles. I managed to capture this screenshot from underneath the “lunar surface” in the scene view, and it looks quite like an asteroid belt which I though was pretty cool.
I have been working more on some 3D models for drills that I will have in the game. The premise is this. The player starts out with a simple drill. It can mine copper and iron ore, however it is quite slow because it overheats quickly and also requires recharging often. The player can upgrade three parts of the drill to improve it. First they can upgrade the energy capacity so the drill can be used for longer without needing more energy to run. Or they can upgrade the cooling which means the drill will not overheat in the middle of drilling as often. Or they can upgrade the drill head, which can improve other aspects such as the amount of material you get per ore.
The drills have been textured now and man do they look clean!!! I have kept them to the same red aesthetic since I have made it so they are all made by one company called the Stellar Frontier Agency, and they are the ones who have sent you to collect and mine resources. Once I flesh out more of the “lore” of the game I will be sure to share!
I have made some quick renders that I am going to be using for the inventory icons.
Done some work on the UI. Would appreciate some feedback!
Although it might seem like I haven’t changed much, behind the scenes there’s been a lot of progress. Apart from the minor UI tweaks where I added a box and border to the different bars, made the energy bar yellow to match the power cells I modelled and made the overall colour scheme blue instead of having different colours, I have been working on the core systems that change the values of the different bars. For example, I linked the heat bar to the actual mining system which is now in place, and allows the player to actually mine the ores, the drill durability, energy and heat then all get updated. And then when the drill overheats that is also handled. Now I just need to make it look a bit nicer, since there is currently no particles or animation and ores just disappear.
For the final devlog of the Stardance competition I decided to cram everything in that the project was missing. I added: a title menu, sound effects, music, mining mechanics, ore drops, ore generation fixes, and that’s just what I remember! I hope you enjoy the game!

Hi guys! So basically today i worked on trying to add camera functionality so I can add recording into the website. Got transparent overlays working!
Got the bounce animation working. So far I am just using the nerd emoji for my icon Trigger logic is the next thing to be done, but I’m unsure of how to go about it as I’m on Wayland which I heard doesn’t like capturing input if an app isn’t in focus. This is inspired by the Minecraft mod “Tuffcraft” and the one in gd that does the same thing yes I know this meme genre is long dead but idrc
Progress update! The project is Linux only now. Pynput doesnt work on wayland and while I could have it detect your platform and use a different input capturing method based on that, It’s not one of my priorities Anyways, I have finished some things up: Input detection works using evdev, I listen for mouse clicks and decide if it is “tuff” based on a % value set in the config, you can also configure how many seconds the icon stays on screen for. Icons are automatically selected from an icons directory and shuffled randomly - They do repeat sometimes but I feel that makes it funnier. This works for the phonk music too. The Youtube Shorts™ experience 🔥 Black bars can now be added to the sides to mimic a phone aspect ratio, this is configurable. More music and icons have been added as well. Ive also setup a github for this at: github.com/Spaagz/tuff-top Plans: a fake likes and comments overlay random text to accompany the icon Figure out a way to release this as a linux executable
Icons now scale according to aspect ratio instead of being squished into a uniform box. Heres a preview of the whole abomination in action:
Added random phrases to the top of the screen using a randomised selection of fonts from a folder
Most people dont use linux, so I made a showcase so people can preview the project easier! https://youtu.be/HbPldsK_V3k I know, the video is quite shoddy, I was kinda doing my homework at the same time ¯ _ (ツ)_/¯ In the 45 min tracked I setup paths relative to the script so now it works as a compiled pyinstaller binary. If you want to, you can click and run now instead of messing with python stuff. https://github.com/Spaagz/tuff-top
I have created a new release of the program that doesnt depend on mpg123 and doesnt create and destroy a qt app every single trigger. I have also added a couple new config options and QoL improvements: This means that compatibility should be greatly improved and performance should be better. I have managed to run the script in a vm and it seems to work out of the box on the latest version of KDE plasma.
Added an experimental youtube shorts style overlay Its off by default because I want to figure out how to randomize like numbers, channel username and profile picture, however currently it just uses a hardcoded png
I may have gone overboard on the svg overlay idea… Absolutely everything is randomized: The channel icon, the background gradient FOR the icon, like and dislike amount, channel name - heck I even made the progress bar random. Day 1 CAD Today I started the CAD for this project. I recorded a time-lapse while making it. Final CAD Adjustments and First Assembly In this session, I worked on the final CAD adjustments for the project design and successfully assembled the newly printed parts. Everything fits much better now and looks amazing. CAD Modifications: Changed the hole sizes and reworked the micro USB bracket to prevent it from sliding inside its case. Printing and Fit: Printed the three parts with the new dimensions and verified that everything fits much better than the previous version. Working on creating a sign in/log in page using supabase
trying to separate the sign up and sign in page
Added roles for users to be apart of in the sign up process and added in the supabase thing. Was crashing out because I thought the picker wasn’t working but I realized on I was on the wrong page so I made to specify the sign up page is different than the log in
figured out add the user’s role and give the user different windows depending on the role.
My supabase stopped working so I had to create another one. I worked on the organization home page but it is not working at the moment. the sign in is going straight to the organization home page instead of the sign up page.
Worked on linking supabase with the student/org home view. Debugged the issue when it would automatically go to org view (if/else issue, switched it to case)
i think i have an mvp now

Even after soldering a wire to fix that, something else with the design was wrong, which led to the component constantly outputting a HIGH signal. Instead of spending time trying to fix it, I decided to just scratch out all the traces connecting it and removing the component altogether. Rather than retrieving a frequency from the touch capacitance sensor via hardware, I opted for a pure software route instead. I soldered a wire directly from the capacitance sensor’s copper pad to pin 1, and then using software, I would repeatedly drive the pin HIGH, and then measure the amount of time it takes for the pin to reach LOW (measuring the amount of time it takes for the copper pad to discharge). This allows me to approximate the capacitance of the copper pad via the formula t = R * C. The capacitance will increase when my finger approaches the pad, and so by counting the cycles it takes for the capacitor to discharge, our program can tell when the capacitive sensor was touched. The soil moisture capacitive sensor is basically the same concept in action. When the sensor is placed in dry soil, the capacitance will be low (as soil is dielectric), and timing for discharge will be low as well. When the soil is watered, capacitance will increase (as water is a strong dielectric), which will thus increase the time it takes for the soil capacitive probes to discharge. The only problem was that it turned out I had wired the RC circuit for the soil capacitive probes incorrectly as well, which I thus spent time fixing. The PCB features a two copper probe-fingers; one which connects to the MCU and forms a RC circuit, and the other which connects to ground. How it works The idea is that when the PCB is embedded in the dielectric soil, and the humidity level increases, the capacitance of the copper probes will naturally increase as well with the presence of water. Through the equation Time = Resistance * Capacitance, we can detect the change in how long the capacitor (the copper probes) take to charge/discharge, and thus approximate the humidity level, with some calibration of course. The touch capacitance sensor (shown on f.cu) works similarly. When a finger approaches the copper pad, the capacitance of the circuit changes, and that is something we can measure. Only difference is that, for added robustness, I added a 555 timer to convert the capacitance into a frequency that the MCU can read. I worked on this before and am continuing this project. What I worked on: Fixed a bug where the background (picture of me) wasn’t covered completely and other bugs made it more adaptable for smaller screens (not finished) added a project I worked on Challenges: fixing the bugs and finding solutions getting the smaller screens to work Future note: adding more projects making it fully adaptable for smaller screens
What I worked on: took me so long to redo the about me page added some projects Challenges: It was hard to get the squiggly border since if I use an image of a squiggly box when screen size changes it would end up wonky Future note: Add padding to about me compatibility for smaller screens
What I worked on: Fixing the padding for about me making the projects grid compatible for smaller screens (display less projects for smaller screens) -fix the home page so its not wonky on smaller screens -fixing the about me page so its not wonky on smaller screens Challenges: some bugs here and there, learning how to use grid Future note: continue fixing about me so its compatible on smaller screens
What I worked on: Making the about me compatible with smaller screens Challenges: Fixing the spacing so its not wonky on smaller screens Done!

Between the first ship to this one, I’ve mainly just been implementing some feedback I got from the first ship such as adding more text information in case someone doesn’t want to watch the videos, and adding random facts about the astronauts. I added dropdowns which display text which you can click to show, I made them drop down just to save space in the screen if it’s not being used. What took me a bit of time though was adding a script that would provide random information about each Artemis mission every time the page is loaded. That part took a little bit because I was running into an issue where facts for Artemis II would show but not Artemis III, it all had to do with text above overriding the text below. Devlogs:
I’m creating a website that will provide centralized information about the Artemis Program. Demo is linked in the project for you to try out. I still need to make the website more responsive. What I did today was make the landing page for this website. This so far will include Artemis livestreams, videos, and information on specific missions. Deploying this on Github was a big pain because I needed to restructure the entire website directory, so GitHub could find my index.html file, stylesheet, and images. Let me know if you have any feedback, I’m probably going to make the carousels smaller.
I figured out how to make a countdown timer with JavaScript. This will count down the time left until the next Artemis launch. I also included a little tour of the website in the video. In the video I wait fir about 20 seconds to see that number hit 0. You can skip about 20 seconds if you don’t want to wait for that. Then the bottom of the countdown I will input the status of the Artemis mission. I don’t spend a whole lot of time with JavaScript which is why it took me 2 hours to do. I did quite a few things during this 6 hours. First off, I moved the countdown to the top, andit sticks to the top. Secondly, I added a timeline to visually see each launch. The timeline I used is called JSTimrline which ises a spreadsheet you can embed to add a timeline. They also leave the option for you to create a JSON file ehich gives you more styling options. I plan to create a bio for eaach of these astronauts only using the api, if the contents of the api change the web page should change automatically. Although I’m limited to 15 requests per hour which is annoying.
Quite afew things have been added since my first devlog. So far I’ve worked a little bit on responsive design to make it more viewable on mobile. I also created a little bubble menu which allows you to transition between Hubs. I created a moon basepage which will provide centralized infirmation on our moon base plans specifically. I’m currently inn the process of implementing some of the simulations NASA created within my website through embedding.
During this time, I have embedded two NASA simulations into the website for visualization. You can fine them by going to the Artemis II page and going to the moon base page under “Explore”. I also embedded some YouTube videos to #1 let people understand the idea of the Artemis Program and CLPS who aren’t familiar, and #2 you don’t have to search for multiple YouTube videos potentially on different channels. They all are here. And honestly, when you’re navigating a website, it’s more convenient to watch an embedded video than navigate to YouTube. The last thing I worked on a little bit was making the moon base section more mobile responsive. Still looks a little off, but better than it was before.
Hello It’s been a little while since my last devlog but I plan to make them more frequently. This is my first log sincemy first shipment and Ive been spending thelasst 5 hours trying to implement the feedback I got. 1. Someone said it would be nice to see some facts about the astronauts, so I did something like that. I made an array that displays a random fact about the missions every time the page loads. This one took me a while to do because I was running into an issue where the Artemis I facts would display but not the subsequent ones. I went onto Stack Overflow and problem is resolved. 2. So what I did is created a series of dropdowns on the very bottom that tells you information aout the mission. I chose a dropdown format so they dont take up as much space on the page if its not being read.
Artemis II Page Update! Devlog Formatting This is the first devlog that’s formatted nicely, I’ve been writing them on my phone and for some reason it doesn’t format there at all just displays as a large paragraph. But I’m writing this one on a computer allowing me to format paragraphs and headings. Artemis II page I’ve been working on the Artemis II page, I’m not quite finished but got the history of it and the preperations which explains the stacking timeline and the heatshield issue. Artemis I Timeline I added a timeline to the Artemis I page which you can see in the demo link. It shows major events that happened from stacking to reentry. Another thing I did was update the status of Artemis III below that countdown banner.
Completed Artemis II page Completed the Artemis II page where I explained the flight profile, preparations, and its full flight timeline.
Made some progress on my Artemis website! Below is the changelog, but the highlight I have to share is the addition of a “Blogs” page that organizes blogs into rows. These blogs will be more detailed Artemis Updates. It’s the first blog structure I’ve done, so wanted to try it out. I also moved the left navigation bubble content to a bottom navigation bar. Removed Removed the bubble navbar on left side (Got moved to newely added bottom navbar) Added Bottom navigation bar Blog Page First Artemis Blog I would encourage you to look around the repository because I made some additions to it. Created a Discussions tab at Top menu bar > Discussions so I can make announcements and updates about this project.
Final ship for this challenge! I made some changes to this site to make it “look” better, I’ll just summarize it here. I have a changelog in my GitHub page. Changed the navigation bar from a side bubble to the top navbar to navigate the page. Removed the timeline because I kind of see it as redundant. I changed the countdown and update banner to fill that space. Added a launch schedule page for payload deliveries and Artemis missions. I also have a domain now, instead of “artemishub.github.io” it’s not “artemishub.space”
Ships:
My project is called Artemis Hub, a static website that provides centralized information about the Artemis Program while showing our progress in building a moon base. It prevents people from navigating to multiple YouTube videos or the entire NASA site (I Frequently have to make multiple clicks to navigate that massive site), and just provides all that information on one page. This is my final ship for this project, I would encourage you to read my last shipment as I go in more detail of what the project is about. Basically, I built a central website hub that provides information on the Artemis Program. You can find certain information on my website within a few clicks what takes 4-8 clicks on the NASA website. That part took a little bit because I was running into an issue where facts for Artemis II would show but not Artemis III, it all had to do with text above overriding the text below. I just resolved this issue by adding the Arrays to the individual HTML files as they just shared the main.js file before.
For any details about my progress you can check my devlogs. I made an informational Artemis Hub to give information and updates about the Artemis Program. This is my last ship for the progress and really enjoyed making it. Some things I’d like to feature is the blogs section which are individual pages dedicated to giving specific updates and the launch pages which provides launch dates for lunar payload services and Artemis missions. It is a very simple, web-based game that is easy to run. You essentially control a spaceship and try to get it to land on the landing zone. It was a couple nice features that I enjoy. The gravity works radially, so no matter where you are, the ship is pulled into the center of the moon. Also, the terrain is generated randomly and the ship is able to detect collisions pretty well for an object that has a lot of ridges at various heights. Finally, my favorite feature has to be the HUD. We include simple statistics on the left of the screen with color indicators for two different variables: pitch and speed. To get a good landing, the pitch of the spaceship has to be nearly upright and the speed should be less than 2m/s, so when these conditions are met, it turns green. Another thing I love about the HUD is the mini-map. It works pretty well and scales well according to the radius of the moon, so the code can be altered very quickly allowing me to add some-sort of scroll bar later to change the radius of the moon while not having to worry about the mini-map. The mini-map also draws a line from the lander to the center of the moon showing you how to get back to the moon when you are lost. This was my first project of the sort and I hope you guys enjoy it. Please give me any feedback to improve this, and I am happy to answer any questions.", "repo": "https://github.com/AyushRG10/Stellar-Landing-Simulator", "demo": "https://ayushrg10.github.io/Stellar-Landing-Simulator/"}]...

Created a drawUI() function which basically calculated a bunch of statistics based off other variables in my code. Then it was drawn in a box on the top left. Two different statistics use color indicators to show when its safe to land. Speed turns green when it is below 2 m/s and pitch turns green when it is between pi/2 +- 0.25 radians which are part of the criteria for a successful landing. Additionally, I found it was helpful to include a minimap as the sandbox did not have limits for where the spaceship can go, so it was easy to get lost. By centering the minimap onto the moon and scaling down proportionally to the scale of the moon’s radius, we ensure an effective way for the user to navigate. We draw a line from the moons center in the minimap to the center of the lander in the minimap creating a way for the user to know which direction they should go down. Finally, I created a README.md file and updated it with information, so now I am ready to deploy Stellar Landing Simulator."}, {"post_id": 32769, "ts": "2026-07-22T04:15:02Z", "hours": 1.8042, "text": "07/21/2026 - Gravity Upgrades / Collisions / Game Phases. Today I spent a good part of my time getting collisions working well between the lander (spaceship) and the moon. Used simple ray casting to determine if the rocket intersected the moon. Then was some gravity upgrades. Previously I just added gravity to the vertical velocity constant so it was very simple and did not always pull the rocket into the moon, so I altered it using something closer to real life where gravitational strength is dependent on the gravitational constant divided by distance between both objects squared (was too lazy to implement false masses of both objects). Finished some basic movement. Working on basic graphic models right now.
Built simple graphics and movement into this game.
07/21/2026 - Gravity Upgrades / Collisions / Game Phases. Lastly fixed some errors in the way the game determines winning. To win, the lander has to arrive at the landing spot with a sub 2 speed and 25 degree landing angle which makes the landing seem more realistic. A Heads Up Display should be viable to create tomorrow.
Heads Up Display was just finished being built. Finally, I created a README.md file and updated it with information, so now I am ready to deploy Stellar Landing Simulator.
Ships:
So this is Stellar Landing Simulator. Please give me any feedback to improve this, and I am happy to answer any questions....

I finally got to know how to work with the Webuntis-API. I set up a small working python template that connects to my school server and then gives the raw timetable data for a specific class. I also thought about how I would like to build the widget so that it feels like one. And for that my plan is to probably create a desktop web app using the React + Tauri + Rust tech stack. This connects to the users school api and shows the current timetable of the user. I also want to create a modern looking UI. Since I now know that the API fundamentally works, I would like to implement the connection again with Rust and then start creating the Tauri Widget
I have initialized a tauri projects and analyzed the project structure. The problem is that I do not have any prior experience with Rust. And that is why I also setup a separate test folder to experiment with Rust and the untis library I want to use afterwards.
I have successfully found the issue why my application didn’t connect with the Webuntis API server. It was a datetime conversion issue in the library untis-rc. With the help of ChatGPT I finally found the bug inside the library and fixed it. After fixing the big, I also initialized a .env environment to store secrets
I now connected the Webuntis-API with Tauri App’s backend. I was able to request information from the Webuntis API and process it in the frontend. For now that app only shows the different lesson ids and the Subject Name code. Next steps would be to understand the structure of the timetable json and design first prototypes for the design
I started analyzing the json strcuture of the timetable data played around with it. Afterwards, I also made some first design prototype with figma for my widget. What I realized afterwards is that the text size is too small for a functional widget. So I need to redesign the subject components. For the time being, I took 500x300 as the widget size. But in reality, I think it should be a lot smaller than that.
Finally I have implemented a working version of the Webuntis Widget. I invested too much time on designing the application.
