Title: My very own WebOS by @Samhita | Stardance
Devlogs:
Created the project on GitHub and learned basic coding in HTML. Created an outline and added an image.
I learned how to add different colors and add different styles such as margins, background colors, text colors, text fonts, etc.
Rounded the corners of the image and played around with the fonts and colours. I had a few syntax errors with the quotation marks that I had to fix. Added more to the style tags in the headers 1 & 2 and first paragraph.
I added a double line border and rounded the corners. I also set the position of the div and added style to the div. I set the top and left positions, translated it, added padding, added a border, and changed the width.
Added another DIV for the time and added a desktop background.
I got the time DIV to update on its own because last time I had to write the time and it wouldn’t change. I also improved the spacing between the flex DIVs. I also added a blur as the background instead of a solid white background.
I transferred the JavaScript code into its own file, and encountered an error with the time again. It turned out to be because I wrote “scr” instead of “src”. After that I started writing additional code in that script.js to make the windows movable, but its not working right now. I will work on fixing that next time.
I tried making the window movable, but for some reason it is not working, I am currently in the process of debugging.
I added a top bar for each window and made them movable (I searched on Google for how to make the drag symbol and symbols for the app icons). I also added a close and resize button. I also added another window to change the background (three backgrounds total). I changed the content of the first window as well to make it more personalized.
Updated ReadMe to make it more descriptive and deployed my WebOS onto Vercel.
Ships:
I made a WebOS. Some things that were challenging were getting the buttons to work. It took so long just to figure out how to make the windows draggable, and sometimes, the errors were just a wrong spelling. Something I am proud of is the end result, and I like how I learned so much along the way. Something people should know so they can test it is that there is a drag icon at the bottom right corner, and to open the window after closing it, they would need to click on the icon of the app....

so i made this software a long agao but i honsetly forgot to post this to hackclub which i deeply regret so i used to chat with various customer care i noticed that they either used a boring normal bot which did nothing rather than wasting your time or a person who would chat to you so i thought creating a software which gets your customers response, analyse it give them appropiat response and then sort it on basis of title or priority so basic software was built long ago what i did in this 6 hr was creating a feature which could run scripts yeah like if suppose ur customer said ohh i forgot my password then it would run the script sending (your website based) reset link to their email or if u want to make a feature to give customers their order id or status you can do that tooo yeah thats it im looking forward to improve it next things i really wanna add are email calling like if someone sent you email then our software can read it! and second one is calling thing like customer called you, then it would be picked automatically by our ai, hear them, ans them (just like a real human) and then sort it (buts its gonna be expensive T-T) but for not im thinking to add integrations to like shopify or to whatsapp and etc btw if someone wants to try it go at : https://repllyer.vercel.app/ or you guys can email me at: [email protected]
Ships:
so i made a software for solving customer care issues automatically, the challenging part was like… i dont have my own ai server which runs 24/7 so i outsourced an ai token provider… but i didnt wanted that the token should be exploit to public instead my own should be so i created my own api system which was challenging cuz ai definately couldnt understand tht stuff well!!!!!...

I added a Background section to the side menu. Users can now switch back to the NASA Daily image, choose from five selected space wallpapers, or use solid-color backgrounds. The wallpapers also have small previews so users can see them before selecting one. I also improved the clock customization. Users can now change the clock font using arrow buttons and choose between Digital Ops, Audiowide, Michroma, Bruno Ace, and Oxanium. I added a similar selector for clock colors, with options like White, Cyan, Blue, Purple, Solar, and Black. I added a Day/Night toggle for the clock too. When it is turned on, the clock automatically changes its color depending on the time of day. When it is turned off, the user can select their own clock color. I also improved the side menu so the clock font and color selectors open directly underneath their buttons instead of opening separate panels. This makes the menu simpler and keeps the main dashboard clean. Another addition was the loading screen. When the website starts, it shows “Loading Space…” while the NASA Daily background is being fetched and loaded. Once the image is ready, the loading screen disappears. It also disappears if the NASA request fails so the website doesn’t get stuck. There were several bugs while building these features. The biggest one was a misplaced } in the clock code, which caused the clock to stay at 00 00 and stopped the hamburger menu from working. Wrote the core JavaScript for my Space Search project: a live fetch to NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day API. Learned how fetch() and .then() chains work — sending a request, converting the raw response with .json(), then using the data to build the page. Handled the case where NASA sometimes posts a video instead of an image (using an if statement and a media variable so I only set innerHTML once, instead of overwriting it multiple times). Fixed a real-world problem: NASA’s official Mars Rover Photos API was returning 404 errors on every request — confirmed it wasn’t my code by testing the exact documented URL directly, even with their public demo key. Pivoted to reusing the same NASA APOD endpoint I’d already gotten working, but requesting a random historical date instead of today — gives varied real space photos on each sticky note while staying reliable. Learned how to generate a random date between two points using Date.getTime() and Math.random().
🚀 Space Dashboard — Saving Notes with localStorageToday I worked on making the sticky notes in my Space Dashboard persistent. Before this, I could create NASA photo notes and drag them around, but whenever I refreshed the page, all the notes disappeared.💾 What I addedI implemented localStorage so the dashboard can remember the notes even after refreshing the page. For each note, I now save:📸 The NASA photo URL📍 The note’s position📝 The note’s shape/classI created a saveNotes() function that collects the information from every sticky note and stores it in the browser’s localStorage.I also added a restore system that runs when the page loads. Set today’s NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day as the full-page background, with a dark overlay to keep everything readable regardless of what image NASA posts. Added a large glowing digital clock overlay showing the live time, styled with a soft black to match the space theme
add 5 different quotes each time randomly one from them will appear as it is appearing of top right if you think any changes feel free to give your changes
Today I worked on the search section of my Space Dashboard. I added a Google search bar so users can quickly search the web directly from the dashboard. I also added four shortcut buttons for YouTube, Gmail, Stardance, and Hackatime. I gave the search bar and shortcuts a glassmorphism/futuristic space design with transparent backgrounds, blur effects, and hover animations.
From last 2 days I was focusing on making the Space Dashboard more interactive and customizable. Space Menu I created a hamburger menu that opens a glass-style sidebar. This will act as the main control center for the dashboard, with options for the Quote of the Day, To-Do List, backgrounds, clock styles, and clock colors. I connected the Quote of the Day option to the sidebar. Users can now toggle the quote ON or OFF, depending on whether they want a cleaner dashboard or some inspiration on screen. I added a 4-task To-Do panel with a dark matte-glass design, background blur, rounded corners, and subtle transparency. I also made the panel draggable, so users can move it anywhere on their dashboard while still being able to type normally inside the task fields. and with that they can be on and off by clicking on to-do list button on sidebar
Since the last devlog, I worked mainly on improving the customization and overall UI of the Space Dashboard. I added a Background section to the side menu. Hi, I want to say upfront that this will probably be pretty bad, since it’s the first time I’m writing a dev log like this… Anyway, for this project, I chose to work on a violin model using the web-based software Onshape. I’m roughly halfway through—or maybe just at the beginning… I mean, I have the structure down, but the hard part is still ahead. I need to do the finishing touches to make it look good and check that it’s properly converted into a printable file… uh… Yeah, I don’t have much else to say about it right now. So, sorry.
I continued working on the violin; I had already crafted almost the entire lower half and the ornamentation for the middle section.
devlod#3 I’ve just finished assembling some of the parts and the bottom section of the violin; now, all that’s left is the top section and the final finishing touches.
Developer Vlog #4 I’ve finished making most of the violin parts; now I need to assemble everything and add textures and finishing touches.
Devlog #5? I’ve more or less put all the parts together; all that’s left is to add textures, finishing touches, and a stand. I’m not sure if I’ll make a violin bow, too—I tried, but I really couldn’t get the hair right; if I do make one, it’ll probably be without the hair.
Developer Vlog 6 I’m almost done; I really just have a few final touches left and need to make it stand upright. I probably won’t have time to add an arch, since I really need to wrap up this project and get back to studying. I don’t know why—I didn’t do anything to it—but it decided to turn purple; I’ll check everything over and then close out the file and the project. So… this is what it looks like right now.
Dev Vlog 7 So… I’ve solved the color issue and handled the final touches. I’ll work a bit more on the finishing details, then build a stand to mount it on—and that’s it. It should be ready very soon; I think maybe two more updates from now. Hopefully, it’ll be finished sometime tomorrow.
Devlog 7 I’ve just about finished the final touches; all that’s left is to build the stand and add the very last details. I’ll be releasing it in the next devlog.
DevLog 9 I’ve finished everything; I’m publishing it now.

Removed anything that I though was AI and wrote it myself. It should all be human-written now

i was preparing the work environment to begin development.
Yo guys, I was studying how I could do the hackpad scheme, man, think of a work that is giving, but it’s gonna work out, there’s no rush.
I finished the schematic and I’m going to the PCB, now I just have to decide what I want to do haha, I’m very indecisive, I have to see the layout.
I decided to remove the LEDs; I’m going to do it without them. Connecting the LEDs was proving too difficult, so I preferred to leave them out. The important thing is that it works. The PCB is already complete; now I just need to adjust a few things and transfer it to the case.
finished!!
What a beautiful PCB!
Trying to model the case (it’s proving very difficult).
Finished!
I went to see if it would actually work; I managed to mount the 3D parts on the board to test everything, and I made a few tweaks. I think I’ll go for a unique design—I’m thinking of making it all black; it’s going to look awesome.

Created another website for the same thing because, They were not accepting the ship, this one is made on verscel so hopefully they accept, there is an addon the code is showed directly onto the website rather than going to my github page and seeing the repositories

I’m working on a website to introduce myself, Guilherme (GMM for short), and help the others learn programming and encourage everyone’s scientific interests.

I integrated my 2 sites.
I am listening to people’s recommendations and re-making the design, I also am going to add more effects.
I ended testing the remake.

I made simple containers for the title and text sections, and have only written out the about me section. Devlogs:
New project has started. It is my WebOS and I will develop it until it is like serious project.
I have added topbar, and now working on draggable window
I have entered to the most challenging part: adding draggable, openable and closeable window.
Now it is draggable and closeable I think that i have pass the most complex part. Openable function won’t be very challenging (in my opinion)
For welcome icon, i cannot find other suitable picture, if you have and idea please write it on comment. Still, it is running and working smoothly
Now, i’m adding first and simple app that most of us use it in our daily life
Now, my apps are draggable and when you open next app it will appear above last ones.
It will be shipped after around 1 hour of work. It was very complex to write it’s script, but after great challenges it is nearly done.
Now, I am working on Theme app, I think it will be necessary for user to change their theme as they want.
I have finished built themechanger app, it is working quiet well, but for now it is monofuntional.
You can see big differences now, but I just change images to hand-make arts instead of AI arts, because I didn’t know Stardance had restrictions on it
Ships:
In past, i think OS is very large and mission in the finish, but now i am able to write code of that in my own with Stardance motivations and also I have learnt using function in Js while developing, so try and get achievements for your effort. In this OS I only add some simple apps and my personal info, but in future project, i will add some advansed one’s like calc and map, or even little browser....

I made a neural network where cars try to ride fast The goal is to tech AI to ride this track as fast aspossible using only three sensors as a data. Challenging part was optimization and simulation. In a matter of fact making neural network was easy, making a correct point system and simulation was hard. I am proud of graph and saving system, it looks so slick, it add up ‘spice’ to the project. By pressing Try project there will be a short video guide on how to run this project locally. Its really simple - only takes 4 commands to run if you have python installed....

Tadaaaaaa !!!! I found perfect backround for my project. I animated button and added some titles.
So after such a nightmare I did some updates to my website, I couldn’t make screenshots cuz i didn’t had extra MG for that and now I downloaded and made a video. Um, after getting feedback on using AI i am completely tired. Just it is so hard to edit and find problems… it is currently in progress and now i am really afraid to send my project to review 5th time
I did a huuuuuuuuuge changes to mine website, edited README, learned how to add shaders, animated some kittens and also added them to website, and the most impostantly I added extra lines to the lessons!

I used AI to get references for the design and to narrow down what I actually want, basically brainstorming and also only around 10% of the code was done by AI which was mostly css. De Title: My own site! by @sarthak008 | Stardance
Devlogs:
I am building my personal website. I am going toward a comic styled site. So far I have completed the top half of the site. I do plan on filling the empty space on the sides. I am thinking of adding some comic artworks there that would go well with the site, if not then I would just expand the section I have made.
I have completed building the rest o the site. Now I am just brainstorming as to what I can fill in those empty spaces. It would probably be something related to my interests, I guess. Let’s see where I end up.
So my site was rejected as it looks AI generated, and to be fair I did use AI to get a clear image of how I want to website😭. So, I am building it again with a new idea. It still has the whole comic book vibe going on but the design and the flow is different. This is what I am thinking of. I am not quite sure how to explain it but its like those online movies/books details page kind of thing. You have the cover page, the title and a little peek of what in the book. The read comic button will take you to the actual portfolio where all my details, projects and everything else will be. Not sure how I will design that part yet. But for now I am building the landing page. I am going with a comicy black and red color for it. Let’s see how it turns out😁.
I have got the basic structure of where things would go. Now I have to design and resize them. Took some time to understand grid layouts, they were confusing at first now they seem quite simple to use. The colors are there right now just for visual clarity, I will remove them once they are in the right place with all the content in them.
Haven’t done much since the last devlog. Just positioned the divs at the right place, styled the button, nothing much.
Haven’ done much as I have a quiz tomorrow😭. I have added some text and positioned it how I wanted to.
Ships:
I built my own personal website. Honestly, the most challenging part for me was to settle on theme and design of the website, I had so many options but they looked so generic. Then I stumbled upon this comic/graphic kind of visual. But things did not get easier here, even then I had a lot of design choices and I still plan on experimenting with the colors, layout, etc. One thing that I am proud of is that I built this whole thing almost by myself and had a fun time experimenting with html and css. I used AI to get references for the design and to narrow down what I actually want, basically brainstorming and also only around 10% of the code was done by AI which was mostly css. Its a pretty simple website, I don’t think there is something people should know before hand to test it. At last I wanna say, I had a great time building this and I hope you like it!😁...

#devlog4 this time i tried to simplify the code and also added a game and a console supporting basic command
#DEVLOG5 this time i tried to fix some issues like like curve of the circling lines and the ignition button on homepage. I went through the whole code and edited it where ever i thought it was unnecessary or wrong. Hope you like this this time
#DEVLOG6 this time i tried to re write the code again and i hope it functions well.
#devlog7 totally redesigned the project by taking inspiration my my growing interest in aviation Hope you like it
This is a new start!!!!!! I have reformulated the entire philosophy of the website and after much research i am remaking it from scratch This design format is called neumorphism and is really popular nowadays because of its sleek minimalistic nature. i have incorporated it into my project……….
DONEE!!!! NeuOSbut in th ened it worked out V1.0 is good to go i added a working notes app which can store multiple notes and also a basic paint app. it got really messy
Added 2 new apps that is weather and browser someone told me it looked kind of empty so i added 2 more apps and i think i will add a theme picker too
made 3 themes. I genuinely think these look super cool ngl
working on new features -added a loading screen and a basic taskbar that just shows what tab is open for now. going to work on the taskbar further
fixed the paint app bugs. I got some complaints about the buttons not working int he paint app in the reviews so it was a really silly logical error. fixed it now you can change color size and clear it all well!!!

Designed as minimal and modern version of the Internet Explorer with no eye-catching or distracting elements. Features: Advanced Searchbar : The searchbar in the website is capable of differentiating between a query or an URL entered by the user just like the omnibox on Google. Looking at Windows XP, I wanted to replicate its system tray as a date-time window in project… After some experimenting with CSS, I added the date-time window with a transparent background, placed it on the bottom right of the website with thin black text! I liked its minimal look as I wanted to design it in a way that it doesn’t grab our attention much. Devlog 1 - The Idea This is my 2nd project on Stardance and I’ve started it yesterday. Just like my previous project, I wanted to design this website in the same 2000s Desktop aesthetic. Devlog 4 - The Bookmarks Manager Heyy, it’s been 5 days since my last devlog and I had an important exam yesterday for which I was studying the whole week.. It took me a lot of time to plan and implement this bookmarks feature which is why, this is my longest time logged for a devlog! Devlog 5 - The Background Themes I was casually browsing through the projects made by others for this mission with a thought in mind to add something which others missed. That’s when I got the idea of adding the feature of Background Themes. And of course people do have different interests and likings and I think they’d love the idea of different themes. I started preparing an idea of how it should look and where people can change the settings. I added an icon named “Settings” and by clicking on it, the user could select a theme out of the available ones. I’ve also integrated localStorage which will save the theme selected by the user and loads it the next time he returns to the website. Initially, I’ve planned to add the colours from Frutiger Aero design aesthetic but upon adding them, the website looks too odd and bright, my idea was to select colors which looked minimal and were also seen during the Y2K era. Themes only not change the background color of the website but also the color of the logo text at the top-left, its just small detailing but it gives the website a cleaner look. A quick tip for developers who love designing good UI and pick perfect colors for their projects - Just search “color picker” on Google and a you can find a color picker displayed on your screen! (except that it doesn’t have an option to set transparency) Additionally, I’ve also fixed two bugs from the recent bookmarks feature. Do check how the Mint and DarkUI themes look!
Devlog 6 - Preparing for Ship #1 I’ve added all the main features for my website in my previous devlog and now I have to fill the bottom right space! I was switching themes to check if it looks good on all of them… And due to the black text, it was not properly visible on themes having a darker background. So, I added a line of code which makes the colour of the date-time window white when the user selected a dark colored background. And the cool part of this devlog is the “Info Box”, inspired from the dialog box of WinXP, this displays a info about a random tech device from the 2000s era. This uses the API which I made for my previous project, which has a lot of data about tech devices from the Y2K. Additionally, I’ve also added the feature of character counting for the Notepad Window Now that everything’s done, I think this project is ready to be shipped! I hope you guys like the website!
Ships:
prism.exe A Custom New Tab website with a 2000s Desktop theme. Designed as minimal and modern version of the Internet Explorer with no eye-catching or distracting elements. Its packed with features such as a Notepad for quick notes, Bookmarks Manager for bookmarking your most-visited websites and also an option to change the background theme of the website. Additionally, it has an InfoBox which gives random information about a tech device from the Y2K era using my API from my last project. It also has minimize and close animations for windows. Features: Advanced Searchbar : The searchbar in the website is capable of differentiating between a query or an URL entered by the user just like the omnibox on Google. Notepad Window : It’s a window which looks just like the Notepad application on WinXP. It can save the user’s note and also shows the character count of the text! Bookmarks : The website has a bookmarks bar under the searchbar which helps the user navigate easily to his most visited wbesites. Also displays the icons of the websites! Bookmarks Manager : This feature allows the user to add or remove upto 6 website bookmarks of his choice Background Themes : This allows the user to switch between 6 preset background themes Info Box : A small box which gives info about a cool tech device from the Y2K using my API, inspired by dialog box from WinXP. Date-Time Window : A simple and silent date-time window at the bottom-right of the website, replicating the icon Windows XP System Tray. My Journey This is my second project shipped for the Stardance Challenge and I really enjoyed developing prism.exe . Though I had multiple exams in the last two weeks, I managed to balance my studies and my project. This website started with a basic searchbar on Devlog 1 and my aim was to add features which are useful to the website, keeping it very minimal and also that it should not have any attention-grabbing or loud colors/elements. I’m very happy that I could achieve this by Devlog 6, making prism.exe very efficient for the users. Do checkout prism.exe here! Don’t forget to minimize a window to view the icons of other features… Thanks, Srikar....

Remaking my old personal website I made a sustainable structure where I can just copy and paste the structured and its corresponding css to add another project Currently, the “Learn More” button only direct you to my original project booklet and I’m planning to add a mini web to direct user there and then they can view my original booklet Link to my website (work in progress) https://engineering-portofolio-by-asta.netlify.app/ Github link of my codes https://github.com/aryasatyaardy-cell/Personal-Website.git
Added a second list I mirrored the second one to make it more intresting, its still the same content for now, I’ll change it after I go pray
Added sections (Completed projects, 3D models and footer) Trying the pre-made template I made and it works perfectly, now I can just copy and paste the structure to add a new project I also added an stl preview via sketchfab (it works first time btw) This version isn’t on the trial link yet cus I’ve ran out of upload credit (I think?) cus I can’t upload the updated web
Tidying up 3D model section Just some css magic to pretty-fy the 3d model section
Added “About Me” Page and Compleating the footer I added a new html that direct you to “about me” page, also added my github, instagram, and stardance profile on the footer under “contact me”
Adding a specialised individual project web Designing a frame that I can reuse to add more projects in the future, also I added an iframe to show my original project booklet Website Link https://engineering-portofolio-by-asta.netlify.app/
A bit of progress before the first class start I was bored and the class haven’t start so I did a small progress in making the second project’s mini site
Progress on the second project Oh boy, this one a big project, so I added sort of like a list of content that you can press to auto scroll to a certaid id’d div Adding a button to auto scroll to a certain div for the first time, it works well!
Stressing out with school Not much progress, just adding some stuff here and there, still stressed with school
Added 3D models on my second project Added 4 3D models of my old design before the final design is proceeded, also I don’t know why but the iframe 3D models structured automatically in the orders I never design (but I’m keeping it and implementing it on other design lol), it’s like an unintended bug that become a feature
Added reverse engineering on my second project This week is not my stardance productive week because I’ts mid-term exam week, so I just added a small update for the site as a streak saver lol
