Lexing + Parising For my math parser I implemented the lexer and the parser. The lexer splits the mathematical input into tokens. The recursive descent parser parses those tokens into an abstract syntax tree. For me the most interesting part was learning about different parsing techniques which also tought me a lot about compilers. Next up I will implement the evaluation of expressions to calculate inputs like 2 + 3 * 5. Due to the design of the tree it should already respect pemdas.
Input evaluation You can now evaluate inputs, e.g. (3+2)*6 outputs 30 . This works by recursively evaluating the AST nodes — operator precedence comes for free from the tree structure. All variables found in the input are collected, and the user is prompted to assign a value to each one. This somewhat defeats the purpose of variables for now, but it’s a stepping stone — variables become essential once symbolic differentiation or a proper UI come into play.
Simplification I added some trivial simplification rules to my math parser. It checks for simple rules like x+0 -> x or x+x -> 2x . Of course, you could go way deeper on simplification. My current implementation can’t simplify 2*x + 3*x -> 5*x , since my rules only match syntactically identical terms, not terms that differ by a coefficient. To handle cases like this, you’d need some sort of term-collection method that groups like terms together before combining them. You could also expand expressions first and then simplify, which would let the parser recognize things like (x+1)^2 - (x^2+2x+1) -> 0 . My simple rules won’t bring expressions into their absolute simplest form, and they certainly don’t produce a standardized form that lets you check two expressions for equality. But they do make the program’s output noticeably more readable.
Functions and Exponents I’ve just added support for exponents and standard mathematical functions, including sin , cos , tan , ln , log , and sqrt . The implementation was fairly straightforward. The lexer simply tokenizes the ^ character into a Power token. Extending the lexer from there was just a matter of adding the token rule and implementing the corresponding evaluation logic. The Precedence Gotcha I did run into one classic mathematical quirk with my parser rules. Currently, -x^2 is parsed as (-x)^2 because the unary minus operator mistakenly has higher precedence than the exponent. Standard mathematical convention dictates it should be evaluated as -(x^2) . While I plan to fix this in the parser proper, the current workaround is just to use explicit parentheses when writing negative exponents. This will allow the engine to take simple expressions like x^2 or sin(2x) and automatically differentiate them into 2*x and 2*cos(2x) respectively.
Differentiation My math program can now symbolically compute the derivative of an expression. Challenges One tricky case was finding the derivative of x^x . Since x^x = e^(x*ln(x)) , rewriting it in that form let the existing exponential and product rules handle it correctly. Restrictions Differentiation works well, but outputs aren’t always in the simplest form. Differentiating (x^2)/2 , for instance, currently gives 0.5*2*x instead of the simplified x . Simplifying this is a lot harder than it looks at first because it is really hard to determine whether an action results in a simpler form or not. Next up I’ll pause the AST experiments here for now. There’s a lot more that could be done, but I want to make it demoable. Next step: a small web UI so people can try it out directly.
Web demo I wrote a small API for my project using FastAPI, then handed the code to Claude. After a few iterations, I had a fairly good looking web interface for interacting with my project. I also experimented with making all tree nodes circular. It turns out circles grow very quickly as numbers get bigger, so keeping every circle the same size caused the text to overflow. Switching to ellipses solved this. I also spent some time reducing the number of parentheses in the output to make it more readable.
New Website Starting Over I wasn’t happy with the website Claude generated for me, so instead of iterating on it further, I decided to build it myself from scratch. Why SolidJS I’m not a web dev. I’ve written JavaScript before, but never really worked with a framework on a personal project. Live at “part-sourcer.vercel.app” Search any electronic component and get its stock, price, footprint and datasheet in one place. Every number is stamped with the moment it was read, so you always know how new it is. The useful bit: for a part you searched, it looks for one cheaper drop-in that is actually in stock, and tells you why it counts as a match. Same package, matching specs, real stock, and both prices re-read the same way before any saving gets claimed. If it cannot find a genuine match, it elaborates so. Right now that works for resistors and capacitors. Everything else gets an “no match found”. (Perhaps later implementation) Rules it sticks to: No made-up stock or prices. If the data is stale, you get an error, not a number pretending to be fresh. A part with no published price says “no price”, never $0.00. A zero would read as free and win every comparison. Missing fields are left out rather than filled with a placeholder. Built with FastAPI and React, both on Vercel, with Postgres behind the price history. Part data comes from Mouser in real time, plus an open snapshot of the LCSC catalogue that refreshes about once a day. There is a DigiKey adapter too, and it switches on once credentials are set. Its search leaves out stock numbers for most filtered results, so I had to stop assuming those numbers exist. The biggest fix was finding a part’s specs. Before, I only looked at the top 100 parts in its package, so some parts never showed up. Now I search for the part’s own value first, and a 10k resistor I couldn’t find before shows up fine. I also made the site honest about missing stock. If the number isn’t listed, it now says “stock not listed” instead of “out of stock”. The cheaper swap finder used to throw those parts out. Now it double checks them before deciding. The browse page also stopped saying “top 100 by stock” when it has no stock numbers to sort by. Smaller fixes: if a BOM row has a blank quantity, I now count its designators instead (R1, R2, R3 is three parts). This works on the site and in the command line tool. I also fixed a bug where a slow currency rate could overwrite the currency you had just picked. I cleaned up the codebase too, removing old notes and leftover wording that read like a robot wrote it, and tidying the site copy. I also wrote my answers for the LCSC API application. Now I’m waiting to hear back."}, {"post_id": 82642, "ts": "2026-10-25T14:22:03Z", "hours": 4.1617, "text": "Devlog 6 Since the last devlog I’ve been working through my list of 60 ideas. Part pages got a lot more useful. Each one now has a price history chart, a hint about when a sold-out part might come back, and whether the part is still being made or is on its way out. Sometimes it also suggests a part with better specs for the same money, and now it can show up to three cheaper swaps instead of just one. Search results also get small badges when a price or stock level changes. I added a currency picker, a watchlist for parts you care about, and RSS feeds that tell you when a part’s price or stock moves. For BOMs, you can now see whether buying everything from one store beats splitting the order between stores. I also made tools for people who don’t want to use the website. There’s a developer page for the API, a command line tool that prices a BOM, a GitHub Action that posts your BOM cost on pull requests, and a KiCad plugin. I tested the plugin on real KiCad boards and found it was missing some part number fields, so I fixed that. Other fixes: the BOM page works better on phones, the colors are easier to read, dark mode looks right, and downloaded BOMs can’t carry sneaky spreadsheet formulas anymore. The free data source I use still has broken search, so I’ve started applying for the official LCSC API. Fingers crossed it gets approved!"}, {"post_id": 79259, "ts": "2026-10-13T07:30:24Z", "hours": 8.02, "text": "#Devlog 5 After the security pass, I mostly worked on new features. I added a Browse section, so you can look through six part categories without knowing a part number. Then I built a compare tray. You pin up to four parts from anywhere on the site and see them side by side. I moved the site to Vercel with a database in Singapore. A small job now runs every night and records prices, so later I can show how a part’s price changes over time. Search had some problems. The free data source I use started returning broken results, so I wrote up what was going wrong and reported it to the people who run it. I also stopped showing results that had nothing to do with what you searched, and I made the “part not found” message more clear. Now it says when a distributor just didn’t answer, instead of saying the part doesn’t exist. You can also sort results by price now. The biggest new thing is BOM check. You paste in your whole parts list, or load a spreadsheet, and it prices every line at the quantity you need. It tells you which lines it skipped and why, and you can share the checked list as a link. Part pages now show each distributor’s bulk pricing. There’s also a quantity box, so you see what you’d actually pay for 250 parts and not just one. If you click a part from your BOM, that box already has your quantity in it. Next, I made a list of 60 more ideas and started building them."}, {"post_id": 51003, "ts": "2026-08-20T14:21:47Z", "hours": 1.0139, "text": "Dev log #5?? Ran a 20-item polish checklist over the site. Ten things were already fine: links all work, buttons all do something, the 404 page is real, errors show up properly. Six items from the checklist were missing, so I built them. Fixed the page titles. Every page was showing the same title because nothing reloads in a single-page app. Now a part page names the part, a search names what you searched. Put a year in the footer, read live so it never goes stale. Dropped the “404 demo” link, that was a leftover dev thing sitting next to real links. Then two actual bugs I only found by measuring in a browser at phone size. The home page really was scrolling sideways: a card grid was asking for 400px inside a 319px space. About had the same thing at 340px. Fixed both. The header was the other one. It needed 390px of room for the logo and five links on a 375px phone. It had been wrapping onto three rows and leaving Contact stranded alone. Now the links tuck behind a menu button below 640px. Header went from 281px tall to 69px. Last thing: the pages were too narrow and floated in empty space. Widened them a lot, 1600px for the main shell and 1400px for the text pages. Width alone would’ve just made long ugly lines, so the card grids reshaped too. FAQ goes two across, the three how-it-works steps share a row, the four-card grids go four across and step down cleanly. Plus a few more minor changes, The project is built enough to be shipped!"}, {"post_id": 50904, "ts": "2026-08-20T11:35:02Z", "hours": 7.1633, "text": "Dev log #3 or #4?? After the site went multi-distributor, I kept going. I added a contact page with my email, Instagram and GitHub, dropped GitHub out of the header, gave the footer real columns with links that work, moved the data source note over to the About page and wrote more there. The front page got more to read too, and the About cards now sit in a clean 2x2 grid. Then I did a proper security pass. I added a middleware that stamps security headers on every API response, including CSP, frame options and HSTS. Wrote a rate limiter that reads the client IP from headers the platform actually writes, never the one a caller can fake, and capped its key table so the limiter itself cannot be turned into the attack. Added input caps: query at 200 characters, page at 50, part key at 128, all refused early so nobody can burn my distributor quota. Added a body size ceiling and tightened CORS. The static site got its own CSP through vercel.json, checked against the real built bundle. I also wrote guard tests: they fail if a stray .env gets committed, if a credential literal shows up in source, if SQL starts joining values instead of using placeholders, or if a Set-Cookie ever appears. Then I documented the whole posture in the backend README, including what I deliberately left out and why."}, {"post_id": 48452, "ts": "2026-08-16T20:03:22Z", "hours": 13.2792, "text": "PartSourcer devlog #2 Started with a simple annoyance: finding a part that is actually in stock means opening six distributor tabs per line of a BOM. Wrote a throwaway script to poke at the free jlcsearch API and see what the data really looked like. Turned out it has no brand and no datasheet. Decided early to show that as blank rather than show wrong results. Also built the backend. FastAPI, a swappable data source so the real LCSC API can drop in later. Also tweaked the frontend a bit. React, inline styles, a loud yellow-and-black look. Then deploy configs, and the site went live on Render. Implemented a price history recorder, so the data is there later even if nothing reads it yet. The big addition. The site finally became multi-distributor: Mouser and DigiKey alongside LCSC. Every part now carries a list of offers, one per distributor, and a per-source status so a partial failure shows as a partial answer rather than an error."}, {"post_id": 27780, "ts": "2026-07-13T17:10:53Z", "hours": 15.7958, "text": "I’ve been working on a personal project called PartSourcer. It goes through all of these major component databases, fetching real-time data from API keys I generated myself, and outputs the components and their prices. So far, I have the frontend and most of the backend done. The next step is to actually implement the Mouser and DigiKey API keys. I have the Mouser one ready; DigiKey is a bit more confusing to get, but I will get it. I already have the LCSC and JLCPCB integration working for each component, showing real-time stock and unit prices per item. I’m going to keep a very early version of the project open source under the MIT license. Later on, I plan to remove the MIT license and host it on the internet for free, but it won’t remain open source. Only that very early version will stay under the MIT license. Moving forward, my roadmap for the project includes: Completing the actual API implementations. Implementing a side-by-side comparison tool. Adding a large-scale, bulk BOM (bill of materials) upload feature. Creating a price history chart. Implementing a “browse by category” feature. Adding a “biggest savings this week” section to show people where the best deals are and what they can save money on."}]...

I’ve been working on a personal project called PartSourcer. Essentially, it’s a database, a bit beautified, but a database nevertheless, that scours the internet for major electronic component distributors in bulk, such as Mouser, DigiKey, JLCPCB, and LCSC. Adding a “biggest savings this week” section to show people where the best deals are and what they can save money on.
PartSourcer devlog #2 Started with a simple annoyance: finding a part that is actually in stock means opening six distributor tabs per line of a BOM. Every part now carries a list of offers, one per distributor, and a per-source status so a partial failure shows as a partial answer rather than an error.
Dev log #3 or #4?? Then I documented the whole posture in the backend README, including what I deliberately left out and why.
Dev log #5?? Plus a few more minor changes, The project is built enough to be shipped!
#Devlog 5 After the security pass, I mostly worked on new features. Next, I made a list of 60 more ideas and started building them.
Devlog 6 Since the last devlog I’ve been working through my list of 60 ideas. Fingers crossed it gets approved!
Devlog 7 Since the last devlog I’ve mostly been fixing things, because the free data source I use is still broken. Now I’m waiting to hear back.
Ships:
PartSourcer Find the cheapest in-stock part for your PCB in one search. Free, open source, no login, no paywall. MIT licensed....

I’ve actually added the finigoggles item, and i made a custom model for them too. right now im working on making a custom renderer to recreate kinda what the metal gear solid 1 goggles look like.
i updated the goggles model, and made them glow in the dark. I also finished the post processing effects that happen when you put them on. I still need to make invisible entities visible with them on.
now you can see invis entities! im imagining a really cool stealth mission being done with this mod… especially since you can see people wearing them in darkness
End sickness is now implemented, you get it from being near finiranium, or having it in your inventory. In the attached video, (recorded before i added the inventory sickening,) You can see how it works, you can actually barely survive it if you have low hunger, but if you heal to a certain point, depending on the level, it hurts you, also depending on the level. Ive added a new liquid: Liquid Finiranium. Its going to be used to refil electric camo. Also, since liquid finiranium is so extremely deadly, im gonna raise the threshold for getting end sickness, and im also gonna add ways to prevent end sickness
im starting to add lazer diodes, they will let you detect when something is blocking a lazer. Kinda like a sight sensor, but no sight. Ive been trying to figure out how to make the lazer, and ive got a good start as you can see. In the second image you can see the lazer, (left,) and the receiver you get from wrenching it, (right.) the laser renders properly. Now the laser sensor can actually shoot a proper laser. Also I learned how to actually spell laser. Now, I just need to do i bit more fine tuning, and then i need to make the thing actually function. recipes, recipes, come get your recipes here now everything has a recipe! ive also added some more items to make these recipes more intuitive. Ill try to show some recipes in the attachments. Next im gonna make a server config for stuff like end sickness, and then im gonna raise the default for end sickness to make it a bit easier to avoid. ill release an alpha version for testing soon, its not gonna be my ship though. (also, the missing texture thing are the empty finiranium goggles, idk why they dont work)
con-figured i should make some more configs before first version I’ve made a bunch of configurable options, there are definity more i could add, but this is good enough for the first alpha version. Now i just need to finish the modrinth page, and add a readme.
I’ve finished setting up my modrinth page, (and curseforge page,) and now im waiting for review. Ill pause development while i wait for it to be put up on at least modrinth. https://modrinth.com/mod/create-security https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/create-stealth-security/preview
i swear ive made this devlog 3 times already… The mod is now on modrinth , and curseforge . I would reccomend trying it out, as i want to make sure its balenced enough for its beta. Now that its on modrinth, I’ve been working on some updates. Currently im adding the Finiranium Sensor, whichs shows you when Finiranium is nearby; (ignore the debug outline in the screenshot.) Im also planning on adding the next blocks & items before the beta: Chunk Detector : Detects when Players/Entities enter a chunk Advanced Sight Sensor/Laser Diode Keycard stuff Smarter Observer (wip name) : Logs players’ interactions with a block
Finished the finiranium sensor, and added some config values about username obfuscation when invisible. (Got the idea from seeing it in a lifesteal video) Ill release version 0.1.1 now.
starting to work on the Chunk Detector. I’ve started adding the new block, the Chunk Detector, which will log entries and exits of each entity in a chunk. It will log these in a new item, the Log. You will be able to use it to see different timed events of different blocks, like the Advanced Sight Sensor when i add it.
devlog 17 or 16, im tired alright, i put the chunk detector aside, and ive done a bunch of work on logs. Mostly just me trying to figure out how the hell Create’s menus work because they have no dev wiki 😔… anyways, the log now has a texture ive done twice trying to figure out how to make it look like a piece of paper, and i also make a screen; (ignore how its using the old texture.) The log is gonna be usable between different blocks as i said, and each entry is gonna have a target player or entity, message, and timestamp. And i might also add the source block. I also forgot that i forgot to add a recipe to the finiranium detector…
devlog 18… 9 hours 😅 ok so i normally would have devlogged after i got the ui done… but this ended up taking more time than i thought… I finished the ui of the log, it took most of the time, and i also kinda did everything… ui is done, i added some helpful utilities for loggable blocks, you can log things, omg this took so long, but there is really nothing else to say 😔..yet there are still a bunch of random things i need to fix
devlog 19… these features are quite difficult to fine tune video cause stardance doesn’t work alright so 8 hours again… this time i only did one feature, (and maybe some bug fixes…) The chunk detector is finally done! Now you can drop a log in, and try to catch that person stealing your diamonds every night! formatting and other things aswell I also fixed some formatting for things like tooltips, so they are much nicer to look at now. I also made the log screen bigger. devlog 18… these features are quite difficult to fine tune alright so 8 hours again… this time i only did one feature, (and maybe some bug fixes…) The chunk detector is finally done! devlog 20, normal time now vid link: https://youtu.be/H_7fsU2BupI alright, im probably gonna ship soon. so i focaused on some touch up features. recipes everything has recipes now, even adding the finiranium sensor recipe that i forgot last update. summaries everything also has shift summaries, so now people can actually learn how to use the mod I also added Nether Glass, right now it’s only used for the chunk detector recipe, but it will be able to block end sickness later on. I’ll be mainly prioritizing my other project https://stardance.hackclub.com/projects/336 after this ship, but ill probably work on this a bit more.
Ships:
Create: Stealth & Security is a Minecraft mod for 1.21.1 Neoforge that I decided to make because I like being able to spy on people… This is the first neoforge mod I’ve developed & published. I would reccomend playing this with the modrinth app if you already have it, with JEI and Jade ....

Where it actually is right now is a bit messier than the pitch. The nav is a pressure gauge and I’m still into that idea. Instead of a normal navbar there’s a vertical gauge running down the left edge! A tube with five stops on it, marked in fathoms instead of section names (0, 22, 48, 76, 110). Click a stop, in theory the fill level rises to meet it and the whole thing feels like you’re descending deeper into the archive. In practice, right now, the animation just isn’t firing. That’s next on the list to actually fix not just assume is working because the CSS looks right. The landing page has a hole in it. Something that gives you a reason to be on that page instead of just a title. Right now both of those sections are rendering completely empty. The header text up top is fine, the sign-off line at the bottom is fine but there’s a big gap in the middle where actual content should be. Small thing but noting it. There’s a thin vertical line + rotated readout sitting on the right edge, purely there to balance the gauge visually so the page doesn’t feel like it’s all weighted to one side. Right now it’s sitting a little too close to the scrollbar for my taste. Minor but going on the list. So that’s the state of it. Visually the parts that ARE rendering look like what I want. filter function will check baised of 4 variables stored in the c++ then the qml sends new variables over then i also spent like hours on this but i made it so it wont check any filter if nothing is selected filter by name this is a simple it will just send a string over then check is filter string is contained in the task name filter by person this uses a vector of intigers it will loop through both then if if there is a the same intiger in booth it will show btw peple are stored by index filter by type the type is stored as a vector of strings it does te same and loops through the filter strings and if the task type is equal it will allow the task filter by date this was defenetly the most dificalt one and it is stored av a vector<time_t> there are 2 text boxes the first one is a be updated it will reafrech and start over so a task can be updated multible times if needed on mark off this will only check one task when you mark off a task this will aslo by pass the alow multi alow multi * this will make it so when a task is duplicated it will either set the old task to 0 or just deleate it * this is marked in the code as the higher of 2 numbers while checking rec type rec types normal this is a type that will not recure and is the only one able to be fully deleated this is marked by a 0 in the code this will be skipped by both reacuring types by due date this to to make a task the will eather run every day or every other day this types has a second variabe called delay witch changes how often the task will show up ie dalay =1 means every day, delay =2 means every other day this is marked as 1 or 2 in the code on the on load check this will check if (due date + delay) < current date if it is it will duplicate the task to due date + delay on mark off for this task will just duplicate teh task to due date + delay on compleate this is used for task that just need to be done betwenn compleations this is marked as 3 in the code becouse it canot have multibles this also have a number called delay this is skiped by the on load check on mark off this task will just duplicate it self to current date + delay on week day this is for tasks that need to be compleated on specifice week days this task has a number that is between 0-127 insted of a delay because it can be converted in to a 7 digit binary string that means reapeate on dayes with 1 and not on 0 this is marked as 4 or 5 on load it will task the due date then search for the next valid date and then will check if the date is before the current date if it is before it will duplicate its self there on mark off works the same just it doent check if the date is before current on month day this is for tasks thatneed to happen on a month by month basses this stores a number from 1-28 witch is the date that it will apere on the month this is marked in the code as 6 or 7 this work in a very simmilar way to the on week day it will take the due date then add one untill it finds a valid date and if it is onload it will check if the current date ia after the new date in the futre i might make it so that if you put 0 in the date it will just run the last day of the month perminat Devlogs:
Poly Sampler Devlog 1!!! This project is a continuation of the project I shipped to Horizons, the K1 Monophonic Sampler. This updated version will include optimized code, volume control, and polyphony :3 Additions: I optimized code for the BG theme option, and removed the gray theme. Now purple is the default. The images on the README were broken so I got rid of two and updated the others to make them work again! Accidentally included a folder named ‘delete.’ I had never deleted it but never commited it since there were a few dependencies in there. I accidentally commited it so decided to finally get rid of all the uesless files. There was an error about ‘uid://dcqu25b1nmdmr’ is missing so I had to open up the export settings file and delete that text from the code. Tho now on export it displays a weird error
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 2 I basically just optimized piano-key code When I first made this project, I made 2 scripts for each key (24) for a total of 48 scripts with the only difference between all of them being the value of two numbers I made an array to condense the code into 2 scripts that all the keys would share. Each key was renamed to 1, 2, 3, etc. and the code would choose one value from the array based on the name of the sprite/key. 1410 lines of code removed </3 I also removed the WakaTime README and like 2 unused scripts
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 3 I was adding a bunch of audio related stuff and code to start adding polyphony!! There is 8 audio stream players, one for each voice. There is a new ‘audio’ code. Instead of the audio being activated in the scene node, it will be activated by audio players themselves. This new script will be attached to each audio player and will take advantage of arrays Made a release helper variable an array for each voice. The same will happen to other ASDR soon but first I need to make sure that the 8 voices work with varying release functions.
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 4 Added polyphony!!!! (Ignore that the polyphony is really broken </3) Added polyphony I had to make the script track which voice/audio player’s turn it was to play the audio. It kept playing the 1st and 2nd at the same time so I just added an extra one that was muted so it doesnt double up a note. Independent release times are working Independent attack, sustain, and decay are not working The audio is clipping a ton. I first tried to change the master bus be lower and added a limiter, but that did nothing. I then tried to make a volume variable to set the audio players to but then it broke the ADSR and didn’t work either </3 Next devlog hopefully I fix the clipping and start working on fixing the rest of the ADSR.
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 5 Didn’t make much progress… Fixed ADSR for polyphony :D Tried adding polyphony with keyboard input Failed miserably When there is keyboard input, all the voices play the same note at once. I tried fixing this but failed so many times. I am going to try to move the voice calculating script to a single script instead of all to try and fix this. Audio clipping is still a problem… If you are a reviewer and see a big commit, know it was from copy and pasted code from one script into another to start trying to fix this next devlog.
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 6 I got polyphony on the keyboard to work :D Though you’ll never guessed what it is!!!! Broken!!!! I moved the code that chooses which audio player to use to one script to fix the keyboard. I realized that instruments dont play the same note twice over each other so that means I need to create code to check if the note that has just been played is already being played by a voice and then make that voice retrigger that note. As you can probably could’ve guessed, I couldnt figure out how to code this in 20 minutes. (Behold the screenshot of my failed attempt that I cut short) Hopefully I can fix this polyphony next devlog :3
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 7 The system is still really broken, though I have made progress. I had to learn a new Godot thingy: .filter(func(n): return n != 0).size() I worked on finding the order notes are played in I then worked on trying to find notes that are already being played but its lowk WAYYY harder than you think and its kind of broken rn </3 I’m praying I can fix this system next devlog
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 8 more headaches…. i STILL cant figure this out for some reason, it doesn’t register that a note is already playing and sometimes it doesnt add a note to the array that is meant to track notes </3 i genuinely dont know what to do atp
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 9 I am so tired rn Tried fixing the same problem AGAIN failed AGAIN resorted to AI AI failed and just didnt listen to me </3 Thought Thought more I eventually decided to have one script activate each voice. This actually fixed the problem and took 20 minutes of mostly copying and pasting already written code of mine in the right place So the bug I was having is technically fixed now. Now I need to fix the rest of polyphony functions, fix keyboard controls, fix mouse controls, and make keys light up.
Polyphonic Sampler Devlog 10 I tried working on ordering but failed </3 Ordering is harder than anticipated. Need to track the order of played notes to figure out which voice to use when all voices are being used. the problem is how its currently coded. every time a note is played, its position in line is set to the number of notes played. Devlogs:
I made this website using HTML and CSS.I started with a simple dark background and added a picture of Ottawa (Parliament Hill) in the background. I made the picture grayscale and faded it so it doesnt interfere with the page. I made a profile box using CSS with rounded corners and a border. I used flexbox to put my picture beside my information. This is still pretty simple, but i want to keep it that way, i like it. I also Started working on a page displaying projects with a similar styling.
I added a custom cursor to the website using CSS and JavaScript. The normal mouse cursor is hidden and replaced with a small circle that follows the mouse. The cursor gets bigger when hovering over links. When hovering over text, it changes into a small vertical line like a normal text selector. I used JavaScript to track the mouse position and CSS classes to change how the cursor looks depending on what the mouse is over.
I finally completed the projects page i had mentionned in my first devlog. I started by making the main page container and adding the “Projects” title and back button. Then I made a grid for the project cards so they could sit in two rows. Each project has a title, description and an image to go along with it. I used css styling to add the rounded look to everything.
I added a simple clock that hovers above the main body. It only displays Ottawa time. While making this i realized that Ottawa is spelt pretty weirdly.. Also i started working on a seperate page with a dashboard with like weather and stuff.
Finished working on the dashboard. Includes weather from Open Météo. And discord presence from lanyard. This is still a WIP as you can see from the coming soon tiles. GPT my savior for the discord implementation 🙏
I added a school year stat widget. Simple countdown with a progress bar and also made countdowns to the next break off school. GOD WHYS IT SO LONG
I added a simple widget with my favourite things to complete the page.
I added a widget to the dashboard and i made some other changes to styling and look of the website.
Ships:
I made a personal website using HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript. It includes an introduction, a projects section, contact information, a custom cursor, and custom styling. I built the site to practice web development and create a place where I can show some of the projects I have worked on.
I improved my personal website by adding a dashboard page complete with my discord presence activity (chatgibbidy helped), the weather of my city, my school year countdown and finally some things that i like. I also worked on some other parts of the website like clocks on the dashboard and main page....

I created Tab Therapist because, as a high-school student and coder, I personally struggle with managing the large number of Chrome tabs I use for school, coding, research, DEBUGGING, and everyday browsing. I wanted to create a simple solution that would not only help me, but also help anyone who finds themselves overwhelmed by too many tabs. Tab Therapist provides a clear quality-of-life improvement by giving users a Tab Health score, detecting and cleaning duplicate tabs, organizing tabs into categories, and allowing important tabs to be saved for later. I focused on making the project working, usable, and simple to understand, rather than just creating a concept. I built the project from scratch and spent more than 3 hours designing, coding, debugging, and refining the extension. The main problem I wanted to solve is simple: too many tabs create clutter and make it harder to stay organized and productive. Tab Therapist turns that problem into something users can actually manage with a little bit of humor along the way.
I was amazing by the positive feedback I received last time and decided to improve my project and make sure it supports a larger user group by using more browsers, though I had to use AI in this I was able to learn how to replicate extensions in the future using similar methods and eventually build another similar project 100% made by me. Devlogs shoes detailed journey. TYSM for support :)
So I have continued to work on the amazing feedback that I get mostly based on how I should Integrate the project into the Firefox Extention Store I have done that now :) This was amazing experience to work on this project improving on every stage and learning about such browser connectors and APIs.
