Changed design from 10-key to 6-key with multiple menus and a screen. Previous hours not logged as I did not know how to connect KiCad to hakatime, finally fixed that. This project serves as my first time creating a custom PCB! I primarily do 3D design work so this has been a bit of a learning curve, but i’m super excited to eventually have something which I designed from the ground up!
After running DRC, I realized there might be a few problems with my design. Of course, this is inevitable when teaching myself something but there were QUITE a few issues to fix (~100). Currently in the process of fixing them,
Finished up the PCB - finally fixed the largest ERC and DRC errors. School’s been tight so I haven’t had as much time to keep teaching myself KiCad but I’m close to finishing the PCB, then it’s on to case design (something I’m a lot more familiar with!)
Finishing up PCB, trying and failing to set up Wakatime for fusion.
Beginning fusion design - Hackatime is still a bit of an issue but the hours are occasionally logging. I plan to have the 20 LEDs as shine-through LEDs in the case, with a thin plastic layer to hide them but still allow light to diffuse through.
Fixing MANY issues with the fusion design so far - the design process would be a lot easier in hindsight if I had taken the time to properly assign 3D footprints to the PCB to avoid having to dive into schematics for 0.91” displays, yet it’s looking pretty good. Just have to finish up with screw holes and figure out this LED shinethrough panel! This has been my favourite part of the process so far as Fusion is something I am quite experienced with.
Finished 3D design in fusion; set up visual studio code and used my (very limited) C knowledge to program the dual-purpose encoder, profile switching, and 6 main keys. The screen and LED remain the two next challenges to code; I believe I will also have to make a simple python script to run on the computer that is connected to transmit cpu and gpu usage data for the screen and bars.
After a brief moment of enlightenment, I realized that maybe 20 LEDs dedicated solely to a progress bar was a bit overkill, so I’ve changed the design a bit. Instead of using all 20 for the bar itself, I’ve now cut that down to 8 LEDs for the actual progress display, which should still be more than enough to show CPU/GPU usage clearly without being excessive. Now all that remains is to wait for the parts to arrive, assemble it, and hope that the firmware works first try!!
Hackpad 6X - UPDATE –––––––––––––––– After having waited for 2 weeks to be reviewed and approved it has occured to me that getting parts and funding from the Hackpad program may take a while, and as stardance is set to end in jyst over a month I don’t expect for them to arrive before this finishes. The software side of Hackpad 6X is ready to be shipped! I created a showcase video to submit and made a 360° render of it to put in the video.

The pipeline is direct: Eldan and Li seeded ChatGPT (3.5 and 4) with story generation prompts, generating over 470 M tokens (~2.1 million stories), before training a 1, 3, 9, 28 and 33M SLM. Through a range of evaluation metrics, they demonstrated that these models could output fluent English, and for larger and more layered models, could generate semi-coherent stories. 2 On TeenyTinyStories Now, I propose a step further: what happens if we take the Instruct variant of the official checkpoint, TinyStories-Instruct-33M instead of a frontier model like the GPT series, to generate a new corpus of data and train the same models on this corpus instead? This is the core of this project.Note: I understand that this is fundamentally a research project rather than produce-a-usable-software type thing you see on Stardance, so I will produce a bunch of usables, including a conversation-tuned instruct variant of the 33M which you can chat with in your browser in the form of a website. The core results, however, will be in the form of an ArXiV preprint before I submit to NHSJS. What I did After I skimmed through the 2023 paper, I summarised their corpus generation pipeline as follows:The generator used GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 via the OpenAI APIPrompt composition composed of a list of required words (one verb, one noun, one adjective), and an (optional) story feature (i.e. dialogue, bad ending, moral value, plot twist…) to generate a story. Example: “Write a short story (3-5 paragraphs) which only uses very simple words that a 3 year old child would likely understand. The story should use the verb “decorate”,the noun “thunder”and the adjective “ancient”.The story should have the following features:the story should contain at least one dialogue, the story has a bad ending.Remember to only use simple words!”Accordingly, I wrote the draft introduction and the Related Works section, and planned the Methodology."}]...

I built this ‘Latin Study Aid’ website to make revision feel more engaging than flipping through vocabulary lists and pages of verb endings. Instead of a collection of isolated pages, I wanted it to feel like a complete learning platform, with persistent progress, achievements, statistics, music, multiple revision modes, and personalised features that encourage students to keep coming back. The project is written entirely in HTML, CSS and JavaScript without using frameworks. Most pages are generated dynamically with Javascript from large databases, allowing new vocabulary, grammar and achievements to be added with minimal code changes. I’d say, the tallest hurdle in this project was the persistent bugs in Javascript, and the stylistic failures in CSS. Especially after implementing lage amounts of localStorage variables, debugging required looking over a multitude of scripts. I’d say, what I’m most proud of are the massive databases that I constructed - around 2400 Google Sheet rows were managed by me, accumilating super satisfyingly into ordered Javascript arrays and objects. Over the course of development, the project grew from a simple vocabulary tester into a multi-page, cohesive platform containing both the interactive resources for modern study, and many quality-of-life features, both designed specifically for studying Latin. The website can be easily accessed on a Netlify-hosted domain: https://latin-study-aid.netlify.app/ .", "repo": "https://github.com/jamkv359-rgb/Latin-Everything-Tester", "demo": "https://latin-study-aid.netlify.app/"}]...

Today, I was mainly cleaning up my code, fixing some bugs, cleaning up stylistic features, and getting ready to ship my project. I also uploaded my files to Github, as well as making the website public on netlify, at: https://latin-study-aid.netlify.app/ I also polished up the Google Sheets documents which I managed the massive databases on, cleaning it up for public use/viewing. After this devlog is posted, my devlog will likely have been shipped. Thanks for reading!"}, {"post_id": 24621, "ts": "2026-07-08T10:33:41Z", "hours": 2.5986, "text": "Hey everyone! Fourth devlog: After a LOT of time spent on Excel and Google spreadsheets, I finally composed the vocab database for the De Romanis Latin Course! I implemented this into the website, and now: The user can choose which vocab set they want to learn; either the Cambridge Latin Course, or the De Romanis Course. The user can see the ‘learning progress’ for their vocab for each stage The achievements have been altered to accommodate for the new vocab database Not only that, but I also added another feature; the Username. After users enter their username on the dashboard/hopepage, it is saved to localStorage Each page in the website greets the user by their username Having implemented all I can, I think I’m ready to ship my project soon. If I get no more ideas for this project, this might be my final devlog. Thanks, all of you, for reading!"}, {"post_id": 23934, "ts": "2026-07-07T04:29:12Z", "hours": 1.5394, "text": "Hey everyone! Third devlog: Just today, I added a new page to my Latin Study Website - the flashcard feature. Users can now: Flip through all 800+ latin words in the Cambridge Latin Course wordlist, in anki-style flippable flashcards Filter out the wordlist by ‘stage’ and ‘type’, so they can focus their revision to what’s relevant to them I did this mostly by copying my previous code for the Type-in Vocab Tester, and simplifying it so that no input, other than the ‘reveal’ button, is needed to progress. On the side, I also cleaned up the index.html homepage, so that it can display more statistics and data about the user: tests completed, average score across all tests, longest login streak, total days logged in. Not only that, but I also fixed the position of the macron keyboard to the top left of the viewport, since my addition of the music player, at the bottom of the viewport, covered it. I had some trouble uploadng my changes to the project on github, due to the massive number of music files in the ./music folder - so I spent a lotta time uploading them individually. Next, I plan on making a seperate vocab database, but from the De Romanis Latin Course rather than the Cambride Latin Course, allowing for more diversity in the website."}, {"post_id": 23497, "ts": "2026-07-06T14:52:30Z", "hours": 5.6478, "text": "Hey everyone! Second devlog: Recently, I added a universal feature to my Latin Study Aid website: the music playlist function. Users can listen to music while they study- They can select music from a large ‘music library homepage’, referencing a database that consists of the genres lofi, lofi pop, and pop (no lyrics). Like Spotify, users can access and change the music at the very bottom of their viewport, from any page in the website. The music is public domain, selected from Pixabay, each referenced to the original creator by hyperlink from the music library homepage. Overall, I’m really happy about the direction of this project - and am currently running out of ideas, heh. What do you all think I should add next?"}, {"post_id": 21108, "ts": "2026-07-02T22:01:17Z", "hours": 17.76, "text": "Hey everyone! First devlog: I started making the basis of a study website for the Cambridge Latin Course, a revision resource for this absolutely hellish language. Recently, I’ve added a few neat features to make the website more interactive. ‘Previous tests’ - The user can see the results of previous tests they’ve done on this website, saved to localStorage. The average percentage, standard deviation, highest test score, and total quesitons answered can be seen. Note that this function works only for the vocab type in, noun endings, pronoun, and verb endings tests Website colour themes - 2 different colour themes are available for all pages - light and dark mode, changeable by tickbox. The user preference is saved to localStorage, so they don’t have to change it each time. Achievements - the user can see what achievements they have and haven’t completed. The achievements are saved to loacalStorage, sorted by difficulty, and most definitely never end. Vocab and Verb grammar completion progress - the user can see what words/verb endings they have and haven’t answered correctly to in their history on this website, saved to localStorage. XP and level feature - the user can accumilate experience points and increase their level, by acing tests, ticking off more vocab words/verb endings, logging in daily, or unlocking achievements. Time-sensitive quotes - at the top of each page, the user can read a quote. Its attitude may be inspirational, friendly, witty, or reference ancient Roman scholars, depending on what page the user is on. Their comment also depends on what time of day it is, either chastising you to sleep or praising you as an early bird. Post-test Latin quotes - the user also gets a quote in Latin (from famous Roman history), and its english translation every time they finish a test, depending on how well they did. It’s randomly generated, so the same score won’t yield the same quote. it can be inspirational, encouraging of your failure, or pleased with your performance. Beta version archives - The user can access a multitude of scrapped pages that were either replaced or not needed as this project developed. They’re unpolished; no dark mode, no localStorage. Sample tests - the user can access past test papers from my school, now digitalised. Currently there’s only one, but there might be more. In the existing fronted, I used AI to help me with: composing the quotes, giving me some ideas, debugging or formatting, and make the colour scheme. I also used excel to help make the huge databases; for vocab, grammar, and achievements. Overall, I’m happy with how this project is going! Next, I’m planning on imkplementing a lofi-beats playlist, where the user can listen to music running from the website itself."}]...

Devlogs:
Hey everyone! Next, I’m planning on imkplementing a lofi-beats playlist, where the user can listen to music running from the website itself.
Hey everyone! What do you all think I should add next?
Hey everyone! Next, I plan on making a seperate vocab database, but from the De Romanis Latin Course rather than the Cambride Latin Course, allowing for more diversity in the website.
Hey everyone! Thanks, all of you, for reading!
Hey everyone! Fifth devlog: My Latin-language Study Aid is nearly done! Thanks for reading!
Ships:
Latin is a subject with fantastic history — but not always fantastic study resources. The website can be easily accessed on a Netlify-hosted domain: https://latin-study-aid.netlify.app/ ....

I made my creative portfolio from scratch, but I didn’t want it to feel like a normal portfolio website. The main idea was to make the website itself feel like part of my work. It’s built around a sharp/brutalist visual style with a lot of small interactions. The cursor changes shape when hovering over things, there’s a kinetic arrow that reacts to mouse movement, and the main hero has cards constantly orbiting around the center. I also made the second section react to scrolling, so the text doesn’t just appear normally - it comes in when you actually reach the right point. A lot of it is basically me experimenting with how far I can push small UI interactions without making the site completely unusable. The hardest part was definitely the interaction stuff. The custom cursor sounds simple until you actually try to make it work properly. It needs to know what I’m hovering over, resize itself to that element, switch between elements quickly, and even detect cards moving underneath the cursor when the mouse isn’t moving. The rotating cards were another annoying one. The whole stage rotates, but the cards need to stay upright, so I had to counter-rotate them based on the current angle. I also had quite a few annoying deployment/config problems while building it. I used AI mainly when I got stuck on bugs or couldn’t figure out why something wasn’t behaving the way I expected. And honestly, getting everything to work together without making the whole thing feel laggy was probably the biggest part. I’m probably most proud of the fact that I didn’t just make a portfolio and put my work on it. I wanted the actual website to show how I like designing and building things. The cursor, rotating stage and arrow aren’t really necessary for a portfolio, but they’re the kind of details I wanted to experiment with. I’m also happy with the code structure now because I moved a lot of the Hero logic out of ‘App.jsx’ into separate ‘components/pages’, which made the project much easier to work on. It’s also actually live now, which makes the whole project feel a lot more real :) The best way to test it is on a desktop/laptop with a mouse, because a lot of the interactions are based around mouse movement. Start in the Hero section and move the cursor around different headings, links and cards. Try leaving the mouse still while the cards rotate underneath it too. Then move the mouse down towards the bottom of the screen and you’ll see the normal cursor change into the guide arrow. Move it slowly and then quickly to see how its behaviour changes. After that, scroll down into the next section and watch how the text animation gets triggered. Basically, don’t just look at the page — move your mouse around and mess with it a bit. That’s where most of the project is.", "repo": "https://github.com/sudipdas2011/portfolio", "demo": "https://sudipdas2011.github.io/portfolio/"}]...

So I built a fluid particle simulation. With gravity control, fluid pressure , proximity based particles scaling effect, also made it in a way that mouse could add waves and move particles. Finally, i built a custom arrow guide. when your mouse moves into the bottom sector of the screen, my regular 15px square cursor shrinks away to nothing and this sleek arrow takes over. it uses physics velocity math to drag smoothly right behind your mouse movements and dynamically pivots to point at the exact bottom center target on the canvas to guide you through the page. the best part is i added an allowed sections listing feature, so the arrow guide automatically unmounts and vanishes the exact second you scroll out of the hero area down to the second page section. maybe you will hit a like! byee!!!"}, {"post_id": 51187, "ts": "2026-08-20T18:05:25Z", "hours": 3.6575, "text": "hi! this is my second devlog. i got a lot done with the layout and it feels way better now. here is everything i fixed and added: first i fixed my custom cursor. it is just a tiny box that follows the mouse normally, but when i hover over text or elements it automatically expands to match the exact size of the object. i also got it working with the spinning cards with images. if the mouse stays still, it automatically detects cards rotating underneath it. if i slide between cards, it changes target instantly instead of shrinking back down. next i made the loading screen minimal. it is just a thin line in the middle of the screen that steps forward and then disappears automatically so you do not have to press enter anymore. i also added a debug argument so i can freeze it whenever i want to check the layout. bye…"}, {"post_id": 49482, "ts": "2026-08-18T11:01:39Z", "hours": 0.3347, "text": "hi guys! Hi! That’s where most of the project is.
Hi! This is the final ship for this project. I made this portfolio to showcase my work and creativity. This portfolio really depicts me. Compared to my first ship, In this ship , I added many things such as 2 - 3 new sections. I also focused on interactivity and creativity. The main problem I faced was in maintaining layout , structure and scrolling of the website. I hope you all like this project…...

Basically, the main concern was that how I can power the brushed DC motor as I dont have a FTC control hub on me 😔 Sooooo i came up with a few solutions and tested it: battery pack: this was what i spent the most time working on. Basically just stacking a bunch of double A batteries to have a strong enough power supply to move the motor. Its a 12V motor but 6v should work, so i just stacked 4 double A’s and prayed it worked (AAAAAAAA battery hehe) but it did not work 💀 -after 2 hours or so of actually experimenting with power solutions I landed on using 120V AC to 9V DC power brick and connecting that to the motor via jumper wires, and that actually worked really well. 9V meant that it wasnt as powerful as it could have been with 12V, but it was good enough as a proof of concept (i was wayyyy too lazy to keep trying that 😭) For the servo, this was sooo much easier and was a lot less complex. I had a raspberry pi pico on me and i was able to throw a few lines together to make a quick script that oscillates between two setpoints. The servo is supposed to be powered by a 4.8-7.2 v power supply which is more than the pico’s 3.3v, so I just used the passthru 5v from the USB. this was sooooo much easier than the motor it was actually insane 😭 And for build: I got my WCP Bearing in!!! Yay!!!!! I actually got a good bit of my project done lol it was crazy i was locked in Structure-wise stuff is actually done now, just waiting on printing legion and then illl be ready for the greatest build sprint oat TOTAL TIME SPENT: 5 HOURS"}, {"post_id": 55835, "ts": "2024-07-09T00:00:00Z", "hours": 4.0, "text": "Ok todays atleast better since I dont have to tap, but now have to actually make this. idk why, i feel like gears is the move but like its so complicated also big issue its bigger than the mecanum drivetrain so there really isnt a definitive answer. well, we gotta do something. i cant be this fixated on a swerve module with FRC season going on and exams afterward. ill take a break and see if that helps. time spent: ~1 hour
after losing badly in states (48th out of 48 teams) i knew we had to do something. our old mecanum drivetrain took up so much space we ended up not having enough space for a functional robot 😭 so i was thinking “hm lets make swerve, we can reference other good designs and just make them smaller than a mecanum drivetrain.” and so it started, me drawing out a bad sketch to present to others my concept, the black box being an approximate sizing of one mecanum wheel’s size and what i think we can do. time spent: ~30 mins
WHAT AM I DOING NO WAY I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS 😔 WHY IS IT SO COMPLEX WHY makes me wonder, why gears? i checked one of the best swerve teams ik’s mosules and theyre using 2mm gt2 belts so might be interesting? im so used to frc it might be getting to me lol 5000000 million gear sizes, and some of the strongest bldc motors ive seen, which kinda explains why no gt2 belts, so yeah belts… time spent: ~1.5 hours
yo no way i just now found out the motor sleeves come off 🤯 this is gonna help so much! with that the motors diameter gonna be smaller by a tad bit meaning i COULD fit it in a smaller foorprint than 70*140??? the break definitely helped tho i came to my senses that a belt IS the play, talking to seattle solvers helped me greatly. time spent: ~30 mins

finally with something that looks like a swerve module somewhat, i went in, boom. locked in, zero regrets. WE are winning state championships with this. but yeah, length and width wise its finally somewhat small and usable, so now its time tp make it short cuz its still too tall. the goal is 64mm * 140mm * 110mm so lets get it done. time spent: ~2 hours
so yeah now i need to make a wheel for my swerve module and yeah i dont know hoe to make one 😔 i mean I do, cuz like frc swerve, but this is FTC where everything is so small!¡¡ yeah this is small the wheel is 2 inches tall and 1/2” wide lol time spent: ~1 hour
i loove back when i didnt know anything about cad and used to vibe guess all my ratios… well now i have to. so my ideal is the speed of a 435 rpm motor, which is like the commonplace ftc drive motor for mecanums. and my old ratio was like 377 rpm. wayyyyyyyyyyy too slow. bro im boutta have snail speeds on this robot 😭 i did calculate something, but might need a custom pulley so we’ll have to see cuz i didnt really wanna go to custom pully gang and wanted to stay with cots gobilda pulleys. omg these new forks look so good😍 genuinely idk what i did, but it cooked lol gonna be a bit of a pain to manufacture but ehh its fiiineee trust other than that, boom even smaller, genuinely looks like a sandwich atp its actually beautiful time spent: ~45 mins
so a smooth wheel isnt gonna work i had to actually make tread i tried doing a few different things, ranging from a bunch of triangles and an extrude to contemplating giving up and using neoprene i ended uo just taking the pulley profile of a gt2 2mm pulley and extruding it so yea lol (and yeah now the plates are both light and beautiful) time spent: ~1 hour
genuinely a beautiful swerve module truly a piece of art cant wait to build it! time spent: ~15 mins
So today I got my grant, meaning now i actually have to build this!!! So basically i got a motor from my friend to use for this cuz i originally didnt have the money for it, but the problem is that the gearbox on it was HALF SIEZED 😭genuinely took me like 30 mins of prying just to set it free 💀atleast the rest of the disassembly was chill tho took like 1 hour max After that I had to do something I kinda dreaded: Tapping… So basically whats happening is that since this was meant to be made out of aluminum, it needed holes to be tapped, but since I wasnt able to use my CNC, I had to print this out of PETG-CF. Yay!!!!! I actually got a good bit of my project done lol it was crazy i was locked in Structure-wise stuff is actually done now, just waiting on printing legion and then illl be ready for the greatest build sprint oat TOTAL TIME SPENT: 5 HOURS
OMG OMG OMG I ACTUALLY DID IT SDKFJDSKFDSKJF Yeah im genuinely so surprised i actually did this lol im stunned Basically what happened: printing legion came in today!!!! i forgot to print a part so i did a last minute sprint on a friends printer had to sand down most of the gears due to meshing issues cuz of tolerances (fried) i no-lifed the rest of the build, so many new parts came in so it took like 3 whole hours but atleast its finished now 👍 fixed setpoints for code made last minute belt tensioner cuz 3dp belt stretch actually tested it!!! AND OMG IT WORKED FIRST TRY dry-lubed it (even tho most plastics are somewhat self-lubricating) recorded a video in only like 6 takes DID A PHOTOSHOOT I am genuinely surprised i stayed sane after this. I remember starting at like 11 AM and then realized I finished at 7 PM, like I dont even know how I stayed through this long. It was a wild ride, but definitely a fun one. TOTAL TIME: 8 HOURS
Ships:
This an Omni-Directional “Swerve” Pod Module that I had made as a personal project, and can be used for compact robotics applications, such as automation, FTC, and more. The main feature of this is that it is highly compact despite the functionality this offers, being very narrow and offering 4 connection points on each side. Alongside that, like the name suggests, it is modular. For example, it is very easy to install an encoder, swap belts, etc and can be done with very few screws needed....

Devlogs:
Started foundations for my simple WebOS. I made a green background with a glitch effect in canva for ease of use. I added essential OS items like a clock and taskbar to really make it feel like an os. I also added a simple notepad to track goals or just to write random things.
Devlog 2: I added a slot machine as my advanced app. I added sounds to it, for example : when you spin there will be a noise replicating the ticking of each slot, also there are win sounds for each respective win class : Small Win (2 matches), No win (Nothing), Jackpot (Triple Match). Following this i thought the os would look better with green text instead of plain white because of my already green background. I also centered the taskbar icons because of personal preference (Thats how i have it on my pc)
Devlog 3: I added a very simple Welcome screen that links directly to the next page ( the actual web os). Inside the os i made all the windows draggable. I also made the windows better respect the theme with dark and green accents.
I started by adding a credit system because in my previous versions there was no currency. I also added the icons of each new app. I started expanding the JS code for the games and file explorer aswell as the simple music player with a choice of three songs.
I completed the rest of the games that i started working on in my last devlog aswell as a file explorer. I also made it so that the “Readme” open on boot.
I had to make some changes to some of the apps inside my web os because i had overly used ai for the js coding on animations and other things. By doing this ive reduced my use of ai in my project by quite a bit.
Ships:
I made a simple and bare bones WebOS called GamblOS. Features include a notepad and a Slot machine game. My biggest challenge during development was the slot machine game.
GamblOS is my WebOS. In this second ship I added more games, a file explorer, and a music player to make it feel more complete and fun to use. The new features work inside the GamblOS desktop and help make it feel more like a real operating system....

Devlogs:
I am working on my very own custom operating system, so i had a lot of problems with the image sizing and the draggable windows and the open and close buttons. But with the help of some prior experience i was able to fix many of these issues.
Yesterday i made the icons and most of the operating system and today i made one of the apps named “Library of Ohara” actually function like a window which can also be dragged, like the main window.
Finally made my first advanced app with different divisions for each of my hobbies and projects and much more these button are actually clickable. Each section displays different parts with their own little description. Probably going to ship my project now cus it is already complete. Thank you!
As part of Web OS-2’s missions guild lines i finally added a calculator app to my operating system which can do most basic calculation that almost any calculator can do . I also made a huge decision of shifting the close icon from right to left. That’s all!
I added one more app to my operating system, which is the weather app .Not only can it show the weather of one city nut it can show the weather in almost any city. This is possible due to the search bar. It even show the forecast for the next 5 days. I also made the icon for the calendar app, now i just have to code it in and also i changed back the close icon back to the right.
I finally changed the background of the operating system and i added the final feature which was the Calendar app. The cool feature about this app is that even if you go far back in time using the arrow keys, you can still come back to the exact day by the click of the today button. This was the final feature on my operating system, now i am prolly going to ship the project. That’s all Thank you.

Following the guide and a little use of AI i was able to build my own operating system named ShriyanOS ,using HTML,CSS and JavaScript. I modified the original ShriyanOS with three new features as it was told according to the guild lines. If anyone knew about DocuSign. It’s a bit more hassle to deal while you just need a PDF to be signed. So, I developed OpenSeal : a really simple online document signing platform where you can get work done in an easy flow. The most difficult part was.. to find bugs. and mostly, the reason was typos like rounded-zl instead of rounded-xl in tailwind CSS. To be honest. A bit more challenging part you can consider to make the Signature box to place on the right and intended place on the document. Because PDF rendering and Sign box coordinates weren’t matching at all at first. I’m proud of.. a really really simple flow of uploading a document to signing it. It just feels like the most usefull thing. Because how can you take the sign of your parent’s if you’re in another city / state or country maybe? How can you ask your client to sign the deal in a foreign country? I’m really glad that I was able to work on such solution. A bit note before you test it : It’s just a simple working application in FastAPI (python) I just deployed it from the nest . You won’t be able to see any signup page because this is not a startup, it’s an MVP model that I’ve deployed it because you can check it’s really simple flow. You can download it on your own. Github’s right here. And deploy it one own servers with your own tweaks. AI used? Yeah. Now-a-days this is the most concerning thing if creativity is genuine or not. I only took the help of AI in Error detection like typos, mis-arranged logic codes, and to draft the commit messages. As the VSCode’s git / version control allows to draft commit messages using AI. I took help in this project to also test how good they are. Andd they are very well.. How can you use it? Just go to openseal.prthm.xyz or download it from Github the download instructions are in the README.md How to test it? You openup the webapp. You create a New Request . You upload your PDF that needs to be signed (in this case, only a dummy pdf) (because there aren’t auth rn) You place the signature box where you want the signer to sign. You click Generate Signature Link . It’ll be copied to your clipboard. Fire up another tab, and paste the link. Click Click to Sign . Sign the canvas and hit apply. Voilaa.. It’s signed. A little note: Only upload your non-important / dummy pdf while testing. Only the signer’s view ( /sign ) is mobile optimized. So, try to use desktop. this is the working MVP of the product.", "repo": "https://github.com/pr1hm/openseal", "demo": "https://openseal.prthm.xyz/"}]...

Devlogs:
Just done completing the initialization of the repo. ‘Git is really painful if gone bad.’ btw. Here’s the progress… PDF detecting is broken. But it’s the update.
NextJS for the prototype is like cutting a cake with a sword. I got rid of it. Just Vanilla HTML, CSS and JS is enough to know if its working or not. It’s not working now as well.
It actually worked! But I don’t see any result I’ve tried to implement a feature signing the document and saving it. Still debugging it 😢 Hope it soon get’s working.
Well. It worked. It’s now working. You can see it live. I’m trying to make it accurate. Cause.. You can see it in the result_document. It’s not accurate.
Implemented page selection function. Now, I’m refactoring the codebase. Share your thoughts.
It’s working now.. After refractoring codebase as well.
Stripped down the prototype. Because prototype was containing stamping and signing the document on a single page. So, crafted the /admin . where you can setup the signature stamp and send the link to the signer.
Crafted the code for signer dashboard / portal. Developed the skeleton of f"/sign/{doc_id}" Only signer.js implementation remaining to make /sign really work properly (as intended)
Wrote the code for signer.js . But still says document not found. Time to debug..
Fixxed. document signing functionality. But I think that the document signing canvas isn’t working right.
Added PDF / file upload functionality instead of hardcoded dummy.pdf. Introduced API endpoints of uploading files. Updated the database schema. Now, onto updating the /sign .
Implemented the proper dashboard to keep track of the documents. If you check this. you can access this dashboard at http://localhost:8000/ . To keep it straight forward. this dashboard is at / .
Improved the UI of the /new-request page. Tried to keep consistency with the black and white theme only for now. Uploaded the upload icon as gif.
Tweeked the dashboard UI. To look more playful and alive. Black & White was feeling soo boring. And this color theme looks fine. I should have implemented on other pages as well..
Made the button’s with that minimal - Blue, Yellow and Green Theme. And make the Sign box follow that theme
Finally completed the /sign UI UX. There were that many typos that it took me half an hour to just find and solve them. I was trying to implement that Blue-Yellow-Green minimal theme but ended up maximizing it. I’ll try to keep it minimal. But yoo.. It atleast works for now.
Deployed the Project to onrender.com ’s free server. Fixed some production copy link bugs in production . Now you can check it out on openseal.onrender.com And one more note. If you check the commits. I’ve written the code. But the commit message are only drafted using AI. trust me
I’ve Updated the README.md file. Along with the working demo (screen recording). Check it out.
As it completed. I went to slack channels to get feedback and the one and only feedback I got is that I cannot ship with onrender.com . So, I found out hackclub’s nest . Since I bought domain from namecheap. I configured the nameservers to manage it from cloudflare. and then deployed the web app from nest. Here’s it’s URL : openseal.prthm.xyz
Implemented this Read PDF button in the signing page. So, that the signer can read the complete document first.
created OpenSeal cleanup Protocol bash file to clean the db and pdfs to not slow down the server and made everything back to zero. Check it out -> here..
Ships:
I made… An online document signing platform with a really simple process. So, try to use desktop. this is the working MVP of the product.
Implemented a Read PDF button to read the PDF before signing it. Wrote a shell script to clean the files and database. To make it compatible for the Nest’s server....

OK so full disclosure: this wasn’t initially going to be a stardance project. To be perfectly honest, I’d forgotten hackclub existed until I got their weekly email, and then I realised I could retroactively submit this here. So, here it is: a custom rust server that supports not just the custom & kinda funky website I built, but also runs a multiplayer server for my as-yet unfinished game Particles, a boardgame I built based on a (no offense) kinda crummy mobile app, a writeup from the two thousands for a now inaccessible windows game, and a footnote of a game in one of those ad-riddled ‘unblocked games’ websites that my sister showed me. I may go into more depth about that game as another project, but for now I’ll only talk about the server. It’s pretty simple, to be honest: since I made it for me and my close friends, I felt no need whatsoever to try and verify the integrity of the game. There’s no anticheat, no simulation of results: all it does is handle lobbies (plaintext json files with a uuid for a name) and players (single-use UUIDs assigned on joining a lobby). All exploration of state, validation of moves, and win checking is handled on the client side. If one of my friends exploits this system, it’s going to be very funny, and I can’t wait to see how they do. Until then, everything else can happen on the client side. All the server needs to do is manage https requests. The static site is, amusingly a little more complex. Inspired by friends like circulars, carmine cassie, and ravarcheon whose websites are relatively simple and yet, it seems to me, contain a piece of their souls that feels unique and delightful, the core purpose of this site is to incite a single moment of delight. Or amusement. I’d take a raised eyebrow, to be honest. Look, I’m not a frontend developer. I kinda suck at visual design, and my website isn’t going to be labeled ‘pretty’ or ‘elegant’. What I am is creative, and a bit of a sneak. I’m someone who likes puzzles. I’m someone who likes surprising my friends. And I’m someone who’s willing to offer an objectively worse experience to the masses in order to create a cool experience for the people who found it. I’m not going to go into depth about what my ‘trick’ is here. It’s hardly a challenging riddle (in fact, I might revise it at some point to increase the challenge), but it is Neat and it provides the little jolt of excitement i’m looking for. And, crucially, while I didn’t want to use a full web framework like Actix, it required more complexity than just serving the path requested. Thus, I designed a system based around a manifest.json file. It contains a dictionary, where each key is the path requested, and each value is another dictionary containing a few pieces of information such as filepath, Mime type, and… well, if you’re curious take a peek for yourself! (Do try and figure out the trick with the website before you look at the answers, though.) anyways: i use the tiny_http crate to handle incoming requests, partially because i don’t wanna figure out certificates on my own, and partially because having requests as a struct is really handy. Then there’s the final element of the trick: the HTML part. Without saying too much, it’s two similar pages with different css and then an SVG clipping mask :3 Hope people like it !!"}]...
