I started creating my own neovim config! Currently, I use lazy.nvim as the plugin manager to install the following plugins: a catpuccin colorscheme, gitsigns (as you can see in the image on the left; to display not committed / added / changed … lines on the left), wakatime, cmp for suggestions, indent-blankline to determine and set 2 or 4 spaces for one tab, an lsp, nonels for formatting, notify and fidget-nvim for notifications and status updates inside neovim, telescope for searching and treesitter for syntax hightlighting. I just packaged my config using nix! You can now run nix run git+https://codeberg.org/tuxilio/nixos#neovim to run my full editor! I added lsp (language server protocol) configs to my neovim config. Using this I can get linting and autocompletions. I also migrated from nvim-cmp to blink.cmp for completions, because I couldn’t get nvim-cmp to work… blink-cmp works well. In the picture you can see the completion and docs window. I added a lot docs so it is a lot easier to setup and understand :)
I removed the import-tree dependency in my nixos config so users need to download less inputs 🎉 It took some time because it was a bit difficult to reimport each file but I did it :)
I refactored my whole nixos config and removed another dependency, flake-parts , so that users need to download less dependencies! The project is now much smaller and still works exactly the same :) This was really complicated because I had to rewrite nearly everything so it took a really long time (5 hours)

FEATURES: Decided to center the cards on the website to make it look neater Completed the art modal with overlays over each picture explaining how I made it Added some Projects cards - when you hover over it, some links pop up, like to my websites Basically, I feel like I didn’t get much done. One day, I spent an hour working on the slider, but then it didn’t save. Then, I watched a YouTube video on how to simply create a slider which was looking really nice, but when I opened my website, it didn’t save again. Huh. I haven’t worked on this project for a couple days since school started, so I decided to post a devlog at least for the hours I had done last week. Before on my first website, I had an about section with buttons below it for each interest, leading to a separate page on the same website. I wanted to make it more professional, so I removed the buttons and decided to style some cards with information on it. THINGS I ADDED: An ‘About Me’ glass card which expands when hovered over it In the ‘Interests’ section, four glass cards, which when hovered, open up a modal with more detailed information and playlists, reviews, recommendations, pictures, etc. A close button on the modal to close it, but the user can also click on the darkened window to close out of the modal Added some more travel recommendations A more subtle topographic background for the dark mode Changed the overall font of the text on the navbar and the text on the glass cards Extra info: I had some trouble positioning the glass cards, but for now I think it looks all right. NEXT STEPS: Add something next to the About Me glass card - maybe a picture or something? (I would love recommendations plz) Add a button that appears right after scrolling down on the modals that brings the user back to the top of the modal to close out of it if a user does not want or know how to exit by clicking the window Add the other sections Position each section in each viewport because I am having a lot of trouble separating them. So many updates for you!!!!! Since my first ship, I decided to make this personal website into a more professional one with cooler features. Don’t worry though, I have my first website saved in a different codespace! I have spent these 8 hours doing a lot of stuff! I started off with created a topographic background. I struggled to find the right image in Canva which would repeat correctly and wouldn’t look ‘broken.’ Next, I worked on the auto typing text which sort of describes me by saying “I am a musician, I am a coder, I am learning,” stuff like that. I created this awesome effect by following a YouTube video. I also added a moving gradient effect over my name and yes, I removed the banner with the scrabble tiles to create this new home page. After that, I spent a lot of time creating the sticky navbar. It was so confusing, especially because I wanted it to look perfect. In the end I also added a blur effect. Using another tutorial, I managed to create anchor links, which I had noticed on a couple of really good personal websites. Lastly, I designed a custom scrollbar, which I think really adds a nice touch. Right now, I am working on the dark mode button styling, and actually making it work. I removed all of the buttons and am working on to create it more professionally. If anyone wants the link to the old website, let me know! To make these changes, I used AI to help me debug the very confusing codes. Remember, I am still kind of new to HTML and CSS. DEVLOG #1 Hello!!!! I finally started working on my personal website! I am completely new to coding, and it was definitely challenging trying to learn HTML! Today I mainly used W3 schools to understand the basics, and I started putting some content on the page. I created an HTML and CSS file. In fact, I planned my website out on paper because I wanted to sort of visualize how I wanted it to turn out. DEVLOG #2 Hi! Today I mainly focused on learning CSS basics. I spaced the text on the website page, changed fonts, chose colors that I thought looked nice, and added some cool effects. The challenge was adding a new font from Google Fonts into my codespace. For a while, I had put it in my CSS file, and when I pasted it into my HTML file, it worked! The next time I work I hope to start adding graphics onto my page.

I made a personal website, which is my first ever coding/tech project. It features some information about me and four other pages about my interests with pictures. Hi guys! This is a second ship of my personal website, but it is completely changed with more features from ship #1 (I still have it though!). Creating this website was very fun. I don’t know much about coding, and this was a fun and creative way to learn some HMTL, CSS, and JavaScript. The main functionality of my bot is finished. I will be working on getting it to be live 24/7. Also looking for suggestions as to what to add next
I got the bot working 24/7 using nest. I had some trouble figuring out how to update the bot so that it would use the latest version 24/7, but I figured it out eventually. Also added both Bluey and Pikachu as drawable characters and implemented the asciified API to add ASCII text.
I’ve been working on trying to make the bot available for anyone to use in any Slack workspace. I tried to accomplish this without a domain because I didn’t want to pay for one, and I wasn’t aware of the free options available. Even though only 2 and a half hours are being logged from the occasional edits I’ve had to make in VS Code, I spent at least 4 hours on top of that working through this, mostly on the terminal. I’ve applied for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, which will hopefully allow me to obtain a domain and make this process much easier.
I took a look at the feedback I got on this project’s first ship. Some of the reviews mentioned how limited the draw feature was, so I implemented Claude Sonnet 5 through an API to generate images if the user provides an unknown subject as an argument. Unfortunately, the AI isn’t all that great at ASCII art, so it is probably best if only used for very simple subjects. I also decided to expand the predefined subjects from 4 to 10.
Another issue mentioned in the reviews was that some users struggled to figure out how to use the bot. Looking at the failed commands they attempted, it seemed that first-time users weren’t sure what commands were available. To address this, I added a welcome message that appears whenever someone joins a Slack channel containing the bot, directing them to the help command if they need it.

I created the initial structure with HTML and CSS, set up the GitHub repository, and deployed it using GitHub Pages. The first version focused on getting the foundation working so I could iterate on the design and make it feel more personal.
Made some fixes for the bugs. UI remains the same

Coldline-inspired alarm I’m sooooo clueless. This is my first ever attempt to design a schematic, PCB, and CAD (CAD-ing, I guess?). Schematic? All good, a piece of cake. PCB? A lot of retries, but still manageable. CAD? OH NO NO NO. A PHASE OF ABSOLUTE DOOM AND DESPAIR
uhm. long story short, I revamped everything twice. why? it turns out, the display is much longer than I anticipated. so the pcb layout must be tweaked. the cad model is… suboptimal if i say. but i think i’m getting hang of it. now i know how to use sketch, dimension, and extrude properly. still, i have a long way to go.
Made the phone box and outline of the… ummm… phone? phone handle? I learned the best way to shape the phone box is to design the lid first, and then the walls. Last time, I did the reverse, so that’s why I’m stuck. The amount of effort required to create a simple shape made me respect hobbyist and engineers more. I literally spent most of the time trying to figure out how to make symmetrical phone, lol. I tried to make the phone 3D, but again… It’s harder than I thought. I ended up to restart the 3D-fication process of the phone.
Yo… why is my phone tweaking? DAY 3 STUCK IN CAD PHASE BTW. GRRRRR. Maybe I should migrate to fusion instead? Sure… Lot of the community advice me to do so.
Based on some Slack feedbacks, I migrated to Autodesk Fusion. The progress is minimal today. This is due to tomorrow’s science exam. Maybe I’ll start a dead-grind tomorrow to make up for the wasted time. My target is to finish the project’s design by the eight of October. Ohhhhh, time is running out so quickly, isn’t it?
Made the top, side, and a bunch of garbage sketches. This time, I’m exploring surface modeling. Huft… How newbie am I? I don’t even know if I can make it on time. Seems there’s no progress on the CAD phase ;( How can making a telephone handset be this hard?
What happened today? ALOT. Here’s a summary: Cooked by my arc nemesis: “Rail not smooth error”. Trying to “fix” projection and alignment issues (they’re now worse btw) Banged my head several times. Still stuck fixing the handset bell for 4 and a half hours Lobotomized myself Had a massive thinking moment Decided that “the handset aren’t necessary” Sacrificed the telephone handset to actually make some progress. Moved-on to polish the phone box. “Sometimes, a sacrifice must be made. Especially when you’re stuck for 6 devlogs in a row” - Sun Tzu I’m not lazy, okay? I’m just having a replan for effectivity . Note: Maybe , I will try to complete the handset once everything else finished.
Ehem… I think I had some… uhm ‘development’. Remember when I first starting the project? That time, I hate CAD SO MUCH. Now…, I’ve found myself enjoying the CAD process. It is fun indeed. Here’s a list for what I’ve done and learned: REVAMPING the OLD UGLY phone box design. (I’m currently working on the internal walls. I learned to trust the process I learned that I can use formulas inside dimension tool. So I did! I learned to apply the Pythagorean theorem to my design! (I know it’s pretty basic, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere)
Today, I finished the all-new phone box body. Yeay! Not exactly “smooth”, and I’m not yet added the handset holder + mold. But hey, at least some progress can be made (I’m to sleepy to continue, sorry!). WOooO, I’m so excited to finish this project.
The last piece (i think) is done! The phone box lid is done, yeay OHH GOSH, I’M SO EXCITED TO DO THE CODING. WooOoOooo
Because I know there will be a lot of trials and errors, I’ve recreate the schematic inside Wokwi and set up Wokwi simulator inside VS Code (I mean it’s free and why not?) I don’t use Wakatime this time because I’m not yet started coding. This is just me or the TFT display pinout is a bit… weird
Okay… I’ve worked on the basic datastructure of the firmware. Yeay! So the most unique thing about this alarm I made is that you need to complete three minigames to get three ‘verification code’ that you must memorize in order to shut down the alarm. BUT… I want the alarm to be extra pesky, so some of the minigames in a session (1-2 of them) would require ‘unlock key’ from other minigame in the same session.
The overall loop flow is completed. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE FIRST MINIGAME IS COMPLETED (aside the UI draw aspect) Okay… this thing took longer than I thought… I’m kinda overwhelmed, but overall still fun WAIT, YOU CAN UPLOAD MORE THAN ONE IMAGE ON A SINGLE DEVLOG? I just found out about it…
Second minigame is completed! (aside the renderer… so yeah, no demo can be showed yet) Aside from the minigame, there’s also a slight rework to ensure ‘consistency’ and ‘developer’s QOL’. Furthermore, the code are now microscopically more optimized!
Completed two more minigames (#3 and #4). That means every minigames I planned so far are coded, yeay! (more minigames may be added soon) The current available minigames are: Simon Slider match (like Fisch reel mechanism, but three of it all at once) Slider hit (sorta like) Where’s waldo.
Ehem… A quick recap. It turns out, inputs handling are not-so-basic after all. At the first glance, everything seems easy. I thought the concept was simple: analogRead -> register into a struct -> return. But it turns out everything is… a bit messier. I ended up learning what are interrupts. Another couple of things that I finished were the lockscreen (aside the UI elements ofc) and the alarm buzzer. The lockscreen are somewhat trivial, meanwhile the buzzer made me relearn about PWM.
Found few genuinely dumb issues (mb): FORGOT TO ACTUALLY RANDOMIZE THE TOKEN. This is the most fatal one. Forgot to reset the menu data. So the user’s probably will stuck inside a single minigame Just learned that C++ tends to have weird quirks if you define a variable inside unscoped switch/case statement. Forgot to update set any_sw_clicked nor the rotary encoder button click. I’m so sorry if I can only develop this project for about few minutes tonight because there are a lot of going on today. Sorry :
OKAY… That’s a LOT. Okay… First of all, the clock’s system (aside from the visuals) are now be fully operable as the final architectural pieces has been completed. Second, completely eradicated delays in #1 minigame. Third. KILOTONS of bugfixes (mostly the fatal ones) (I’ve just realized I accidentally have two different commits named “FIX #3” lol) Fourth. OHH FINALLY MY BACK CAN REST!
Working on the user interface! The first ~20 minutes is me trying to pick between Figma or Photopea (I decided to use Figma), how to import font, and how to get started with Figma. So I did learn some fundamentals of Figma I changed the planned font from FreeMono to TomThumb. It’s simpler, small, scalable, and stylized....
