Step 5, Im gonna make it like I can mine on the planets for esources to make the game more interactive. I have clocked in about 2 hours today so tdy was kinda long. I have completed step 3 of my interstellar command project and step 3 was a big upgrade from step 2 according to me cuz now you can actually interact with it. Now, we have a solid base. Now, I can see planets and clicking on them will result in info about the planet and info about the neighbouring planets. You can also move and zoom in/out using cursor. In step 4 I’ll be creating a ship which can be used to travel to different planets and can show fleet, crew and fuel status, so, its gonna be long road ahead. I mean, hey, atleast we are making progress. That’s it for this devlog and I’ll update y’all on the next one. Now… clicking Launch actually takes you into a galaxy. 🌠 ✅ What I built today Connected the Launch button to the game. Built my first Galaxy View prototype. Added a procedural starfield. Spawned the first planet in space. Added a Return to Log button. Cleaned up the project structure so future features are easier to build. 😅 Biggest challenge Getting everything to work together without breaking the landing page. There were a few bugs along the way, but seeing the first planet appear on screen made it worth it. 👀 Next mission The galaxy is pretty empty right now… Next I’m planning to add: ⭐ More star systems 🪐 Multiple planets 🚀 Ship controls 🌍 Exploration mechanics It’s starting to feel less like a website and more like an actual space game. Designed a futuristic sci-fi interface using HTML and CSS. Added a navigation bar and command console styling. Built the interactive Launch button with a targeting reticle. Created the ship status panel showing the ship, fuel, crew, and current status. Fixed several HTML and CSS bugs that were preventing the page from displaying correctly. Successfully tested the project using Live Server. 🛠️ Challenges I ran into several issues with broken HTML, incorrect CSS links, and styling bugs. After debugging and correcting them, the page now displays as intended. 🎯 What’s next In the next stage, I’ll begin building the actual game by adding JavaScript functionality. Set up the initial project structure. Completed the first version of index.html. Completed the first version of style.css. Began designing the landing page that will serve as the game’s main menu. 💡 What I learned How HTML provides the structure of a webpage. How CSS is used to style and customize the interface. The importance of organizing a project into separate files for easier development as the game grows. 🎯 Next Goals Add JavaScript functionality with main.js. Create an animated starfield background. Build the interactive Launch button. Continue developing the main menu and prepare for the galaxy view. This is the first step toward building a polished browser game for the Hack Club Stardance challenge. Looking forward to expanding the project feature by feature."}]...

Devlog #1: Project Kickoff Date: July 26, 2026 Today I officially started development on Interstellar Command, a browser-based sci-fi strategy and exploration game where players command humanity’s first interstellar fleet and explore a procedurally generated galaxy. ✅ What I accomplished Created the InterstellarCommand project in Visual Studio Code. Set up the initial project structure. Completed the first version of index.html. Completed the first version of style.css.
