Nailee Nailee is a simple pusher with a TPU chassis and PLA-ST forks. I wanted it to be as simple and reliable as possible, without any active weapon. Tongueboy Tongueboy is built in almost the same way as Nailee, but it has an extra servo connected to a flipper arm so it can try to grab or flip opponents. Wheel Development The wheels ended up taking way more time than I expected. Version 1 The first idea was just a 3D printed cylinder with silicone poured around it to make a tire. It sounded like a good idea, but it didn’t work at all. The silicone I have is really soft, so it just spun around the hub instead of driving the robot. Version 2 For the second version I added ridges to the hub so the silicone couldn’t slip while driving forwards or backwards. That fixed one problem, but the tire could still move sideways if it got hit. Version 3 So for the final version I added ridges around the sides as well to lock the silicone in every direction. This made the wheels heavier than I wanted, but since neither robot has a spinner weapon I could afford the extra weight. In the end I casted 8 wheels for both robots and some spares, and honestly I’m really happy with how they turned out. At the tournament they had great grip and worked exactly how I hoped. First Tournament Both robots competed in their first tournament against 22 other robots. Results: Nailee: 10th place Tongueboy: 8th place For my second competition I was really happy with those results. Nailee Nailee did pretty well until it fought a hammer saw. The very first hit landed right above the electronics and instantly killed the expensive Malenki Nano, so that was the end of the match. It definitely showed me that I need to spend more time protecting the electronics instead of just making everything lightweight. Tongueboy When Tongueboy had to fight the same hammer saw, I didn’t want the same thing to happen again. I took a piece of chassis from another damaged robot and used it as extra armor over the Malenki Nano. Surprisingly, it actually worked. The electronics survived the whole fight. The fight itself… not so much. 😅 It was completely one-sided and Tongueboy got absolutely beaten up. It still survived, but it definitely looked a lot worse afterwards. What I Learned Even though both robots took a lot of damage, I learned a ton from this tournament. The current wheel design works really well, so I’ll definitely keep using it. The Malenki Nano needs much better protection. Every fight gives me new ideas for improvements. Overall I’m really happy with how both robots performed. They weren’t perfect, but finishing 8th and 10th out of 22 robots on their first competition gave me a great starting point for the next versions."}]...

Finished rendering rework, made polygons, remade and upgraded the drawing system and fixed a few intersection artefacts
I was trying to make some components like accumulators and logic gates but realized my pressure system is pure garbage, so y remade it from scratch and its now much cleaner, I also realized it was handling a lot of compile-time stuff during execution, which just made it a lot more confusing, anyways it works better and cleaner now. (I’m still looking for a better name for this, maybe “Nova Mirror” or “Echo Glass” – any ideas?) It works just like a normal wall mirror does, but it has a build in screen at the top which projects information right into the glass. This information consists of different widgets that can be selected and positioned individually. My ideas for such widgets are: Weather Apple calender and reminders Apple fitness and health Spotify Smart-Home (e. g. smart-thermometers) (If you have Ideas for other widgets, feel free to comment those!) Ok, so those widgets show why it’s called the “Magic Mirror”, but why “Smart”? Because I want to turn this mirror into a whole Smart-Home-Assistant powered by AI. The mirror has a built in microphone. This way you can tell your mirror to Turn on your lights or change colors Close your blinds or change their position Play a song via Spotify … and much more. You can also ask your mirror for additional information from your widgets like When will the sun go down today? What should I wear today? What song is currently playing? How many calories are still missing for my goal today? or for information of the internet. The mirror basically acts like an Amazon Alexa or a Google Nest. With the help of AI your mirror can also answer your complex questions, but you don’t have to link that if you don’t want to or don’t need it. If you want your mirror to talk to you and answer your questions via TTS instead of showing them on the glass you can also add a USB-speaker to it. The mirror falls asleep after a set amount of time and automatically awakens when you step in front of it, due to the invisible radar sensor behind the glass. You can still ask it questions or give comands when its asleep. On the top are 5 buttons. One of them shuts the mirror down completely (if you want to sleep next to it like me) and starts it again, one is for muting the microphone and the other three can be bound to anything you want. Of course you can move those buttons to the side of the mirror (recommended if you are unter 1,60m), change the amount or remove them entirely (e. g. if you want to shut down or start the mirror with your phone) After building and preparing the micro-SD-card for the Pi you will be able to configure everything through a web interface. The first version will definitely require some 3D-printed parts. This is still only a concept but I hope will be able to start develloping soon. If you have any ideas for improvement please comment them. Okay, this poorly written devlog finally comes to an end, I’m sorry for every english-speaker who broke 3 bones while reading this."}]...

Devlogs:
Worked on getting the schematic set up. this part isn’t really going to have to much of what could be concidered original sense i am following a wireing diagram from wled to get the connection from the esp32 to the led strip set up correctly.
added a i2s mic for wled reactive audio. i also switched to the eps32-S3 sense the C5 is still in beta or alpha support and was recommended to not use it. i hope that i got the mic wired up correctly sense the example i was baising it off of had diffrent pin names. i also find it kind of fun how every mic that i looked at for this projhect was obsolete so i just need to hope that they dont go out of stock before i order. though there is 9000+ of the mic i’m going with so it shouldn’t really be an issue.
got the parts and foot prints for the board set up. i had spent a bit trying to find what parts i wanted to use. now all i need to do to make it truly my own is add silk screen art.
moved to a mic module instead of trying to figure out how to connect a smd mic. i needed to move around the layout of the board to make it work but it wasn’t to bad. i decided to go with a Adafruit I2S MEMS Microphone Breakout - ICS-43434 and i’m just going with a conn header instead of finding a footprint for it.
switched to using a screw terminal so that way i don’t have to worry about the terminal not being able to handle more current then a conn header or the jst-sm connector. now that i think i have the pcb ready to be made i just need to optomize the bom more if i can....
