using ssh function wirelessly with out any wired connection for the camera reference we have camera feed on dashboard the dashboard is hosted on rdk x5 using local port other all the things are but i tried multiple method but i have ocr the image first to get the numbers on gauge that makes the process slow so for now its only works on gauge which i have config and one at a time according to config / manual calibration only its give value in between 1 to 10 bar which can be incorrect but you have to calibrate it according to gauge type/spec future task for now as per now i cant make it issue previously and getting stable fps to perform my task through a webcam its mentioned in first devlog so i moved on to next part so after that i started working on detecting gauge and its main pin first i started with detecting the circle and middle point of the gauge so i used gauge image for that for now and then i apply same algorithm in video input so i understanded the geometry of circle to detect circle in the gauge then i get to know that we have prepare the image first for the detection in which we apply grayscale filter and blur to image , blur to reduce the noise after that preparing i used the “cv2.HoughCircles()” library of open cv this library search the circular shapes in images it have multiple parameter we can tweak to get desirable outcome after using that library to detect circle i draw the circle in the image and displayed the output in terminal after detecting the main circle in gauge finding the pin mid point is easy just put an dot on middle of circle(repented by red) Long Part Detecting the needle to detect the main gauge needle we have to mask the dial gray scale the region and using edge detection to highlight the boundaries and line (photos added) then identify the candidate line around the gauge so they all not mix-up (only detects straight lines ) then i visualized the lines i faced like problem in unpacking this detected line coordinates because it is structed as a single integer so i lookup for solution and come accross it we have to use “fatten()” it coverts arrays into one-dimensional array i didnt get it that much but its like assigning multiple coordinate at single point and i got lines on the images but all are not filtered too many line the out put is usable so we have to use filters like in the sence a set rules which line can pass through which are not i mused midpoint formula to calculate the closest line to the mid point to detect the needle after that i used angle calculation too after that i used all of this filtration and all that and combine it together and got the output in last now its detecting the needle and dial of the gauge given in input (some time is inflated due to some error in This is Smart Inspection helmet this detects the analog gauge reading and stores it digitally i am making this project to solve a problem , i factory’s there are many manual gauges which have to monitored manually by the works and take a note of a reading manually using this helmet they can just walk to a gauge and take a reading very easily and it can be monitored by the dashboard ( This Project is not completed fully but all the features are working in future event will continue this and upgrade it to be used for real world application ) You can see Demo video of this project to understand it better...

Additionally, 420 mAh happened to be the largest size Adafruit currently has in stock with a short connector. So, I spent some time trying to optimize the battery connector placement so that it wouldn’t get stabbed by pins or conflict with other parts, and wouldn’t put too much strain on the cable. Next, I finished up the wiring and started on the case before realizing that the PCB was lopsided around the screen, so I had to shrink the height so it would look good and rewire the keyswitches (it also took an embarrassingly long amount of time for me to realize that the keyswitch footprint was incorrect which was why the 3D model wouldn’t sync up, had to go and look at an older project to realize.) Once the 2nd iteration was finished, I imported it into Onshape and designed a case (PCB held on by screw holes into the acrylic). I had to create a model of the screen I was using because there were no existing ones, and designed a top to be superglued on (in order to make it easier to put the keyswitches on top). I finished the schematic and wired up the keyswitches, pin header, and buzzer to the esp32c3. Additionally, I finished wiring the PCB. I chose to switch to a rectangular form factor considering I would want to carry this for travel and it needs to be as thin as possible. The next steps are to adapt it to the items I currently have and decide what extra features I would like (also to add a battery) 10/30, proceeding with further customizing the alarm clock. I currently have a 2.8” TFT display that I ordered before realizing that it was the wrong size for another project, so I plan on using it (it also conveniently supports touchscreen!) The larger screen will help with displaying more info (if I want weather, etc.), has a better color range so it looks better, and also has an SD card slot if I want to store data (can also display and store more math problems!). The TFT does however have 18 pins (14 for the display and 4 for the SD card), which the ESP32C3 I was using cannot handle. So, I switched to a ESP32S3 Plus because it has more pins, and decided to drop the 5 pins for the touchscreen so I could wire it to the ESP32. With regards to form factor, the case will only be slightly larger than the screen, and the buttons are either going to be mounted on the back or on the top of the case (the latter requires wires to be soldered to the board, which could come out after much jostling and bumping). Tasks completed: switching out the ESP32C3 for a ESP32S3, rewiring schematic to new MCU and adding 14 pin and 4 pin header for the new display, redesigning board and moving around components, and rewiring PCB. I switched to 3 buttons instead of four due to space constraints (currently planning on soldering wires to buttons on the top of the case). Devlogs:
First steps I started out on planning the flight controller, I got the basic parts but I still need to plan out the whole architecture a little bit more. I also started out wiring a few of the parts.
Finished wiring I finished the wiring for the battery charger and I completed my research on ESC’s and how to integrate them into my current design. Next, I will wire the remaining components as fast as possible because I want to move on.
Finished wiring 5V buck-boost I finished the wiring for the next part, which is the 5V buck-boost. I also added in the correct parts for the inductors because they needed different models.
Finished wiring more components I finally finished all of the power components with the wiring of the 3.3V buck. I also started out on wiring the sensors by wiring the barometer and IMU. Next, I’ll finish wiring all of the sensors and wok a little bit on LoRa and GPS.
Finished wiring MicroSD and Magnetometer I finished wiring two more important components of the flight controller. Now, it’s time to work on the bigger components like GPS, LoRa, and MCU.
Wired GPS I finished wiring the GPS component, including adding in a connection for an active antenna, which the GPS needs. Next, I will either wire the MCU or LoRa module. I still have to figure out weather I want this to be able to use a camera.
Connected MCU I connected the MCU to all of my peripherals, not wired yet though. I decided to only use one DIO pin from LoRa, I might use more later but for now only 1. Now, I have to wire this in KiCad along with the remaining few components.
Started Wiring MCU I started on the MCU wiring, including adding in the buttons and crystals needed for it. I also added in the jst connecters for the ESC and camera (I decided to add it in).
Finished MCU and Schematic I finished wiring up the MCU and made the final touches to the schematic. Now, the only thing left to do is to route the PCB.
#Switched battery chargers I switched the battery charger I’m using from the BQ25883 to the BQ25887 so that I can get the cell balancing feature.
Started PCB Design I started designing the PCB. I placed all of the main components along with the parts connected to them. Next, I will organize the PCB and finalize the design....

Devlogs:
I spent my first hour researching how Next.js and Electron work together. I set up the project, installed shadcn/ui and Electron, and explored different way s to turn PortPilot into a Windows .exe app. I haven’t started buildiing the main features yet, but I now have a clearer ideas of how to move forward.
I started working on the UI. First, I created a design idea for the app. Then, I decided on the sidebar feature’s and start implementing the sidebar using Tailwind CSS. I also installed Lucide React and added icons to make the navigations look better. The basic sidebar UI is now done, and next I want to work on the main dashboard.
Today, I finished building the main dashboard UI using Next.js and Tailwind CSS. I added summary cards, an Active Sockets table, and a Saved Projects section. I used Lucide React icons and dummy data to make the dashboard look more realistic. The UI is coming together nicely, and next I want to connect it to the backend to display real data from my PC.
Today!, I worked on the Active Ports page. While building it, I realiz that I could reuse the existing sidebar component instead of creating a new one just for this page.I connected the sidebar navigation using Next.js routing, so clicking on Active Ports now takes me to its own page. I also reused the existing dashboard styles and UI elements for the table instead of redesigning everything from scratch. For now, I ve added dummy data to display port numbers, protocols, process names, PIDs, local addresses, uptime, and connection status. I also added a search field, TCP/UDP filters, and action icons to make the page feel more complete. The Active Ports page is now in place.
Today, I worked on the Saved Projects page. I designed the project cards with a layouts inspired by Python IDEs, including project names, local paths, running status, memory usage, CPU load, and security information. I also added the search bar, register new project button, menu icons, and stop buttons. Most of the UI was designed by me using the same styles as the previous pages. For the circular resource indicators, I found a reference online and used a similar design. The project information is still dummy data for now, so the resource values and controls are not connected to real processes yet.
Today was mostly about fixing bugs in the backend integration. I ran into several errors while converting the Electron main and preload file s to TypeScript, and I also had to fix some issue in the JavaScript preload setup. After fixing everything, the app became unresponsive, so I worked on a solution for that too. Its working again now, but the dashboard still uses dummy data. Pretty short Devlog, but thank you for reading! Hope you’re as excited for this build as i am! Hopefully it gets approved quickly as well!"}, {"post_id": 81437, "ts": "2026-10-21T09:11:51Z", "hours": 7.9256, "text": "First Devlog! New Project This is my new project, a 150g Antweight cobat robot with a flat body, an aggressive design, and a large horizontal weapon spinning at speeds of 25,000 rpm. This is in succession to Cat-aclysm, my prior combat robot, from which i learnt a lot and implemented into this one! Idea Most parts of this robot contrast Cataclysm, since i wanted to make something completely different, and also to fix all the features that malfunctioned or did not perform well in Cataclysm. A major feature that went very wrong in Cataclysm was its weapon blade, which kept on shattering on impact. This time, i ensured the blade would have a uniform spread of the pressure, and would not shatter instantly upon a hit. Designing The Weapon I began with designing the weapon blade on Fusion, and unfortunately forgot to track it. With lots of help from a friend, who thouroughly explained exactly how to design a perfect weapon blade using his helpful diagrams, which ive attached below! CADing the main components Next i imported all electronics and the weapon blade into a common Onshape document and lay them out where i saw fit. Then i made a rough sketch around them and built up. I added a hollow compartment to hold electronics, designed thick weapon struts, and quickly replaceable wheel guards. The wheels will be 3D printed this time, with O rings for extra grip. Plan for future If i have weight left from my 150g limit, i will be adding bristles to the back of the bot, since it was a very effective strategy used by Makers muse, which he has given permission to me to use. Thank you! Thank you for reading this devlog, it was pretty long, and i hope you enjoyed! I will be building this bot as soon as i get funding!"}]...
