Devlogs:
Just completed the backend, I completed the setup of mongodb databse, and betterauth authentication, i still need to work on the front end.
Just created the ui of the homepage, using reference from the design language of another website.
In the older versions when the user was signed in, it would still show the sign in button on the navigation bar, now it shows a profile picture and a option to logout. In the previous versions it would also require a login everytime you clicked on a blog now it only does that once, also in previous versions it would require a login everytime the page refreshed i also fixed that so now you stay signed in.
Added the functionality to like, comment and share, also fixed some errors in mongodb where the posts were not syncing with the database correctly
The project is complete, I deployed the website to vercel and created a github repository for it
Removed the useless and weird elements that the AI agent had added, that I did not notice initially, now the website is much more refined, I also changed the font
Ships:
I made a personal blog website where I can share my thoughts, projects, and things I’m interested in. One of the biggest challenges was getting everything to work properly, especially the login system and deploying the website online. I’m proud that I was able to build the website, fix the errors, and make it live on my own. You can test my project here: https://gangwalsblog-sand.vercel.app/...

Temple dimensions Using a trusty ruler, I measured the parts of the temple, first from the top, then at the side, so that I could replicate these dimensions in Onshape. I constantly had to compare the physical proportions to the CAD, so that it (hopefully) looked as accurate as possible. CADing Finally, it came down to using sketches on the top, front, and slightly angled planes to establish the structure of the temple. Then I extruded separate parts on each plane and connected them using lofts (with tangents) for smooth transitions. The struggle with hinges… No wonder the metal hinges on the original glasses broke. They’re like a mm (maybe less) thick, and the 3d printed hinge definitely broke!! So instead of accuracy it was time to prioritize strength. Instead of wedging the hinge into the cavity of the glasses hinge, forcing it to be thin and weak, I would wedge the hinge OVER the glasses hinge! (Makes no sense in text but hopefully in the images) Finale After printing, gluing, and sanding, the temple was finally complete. I used a slightly longer watch screw to connect the part to the glasses, and viola! It was done. :)"}]...

When I looked at other entries, I briefly felt like mine couldn’t compare, but I realized that everyone starts somewhere and this is just the beginning of my learning journey. I always thought RPI Pico is more capable than how it’s portrayed with Sprig. While this Hack Club initiative is great, inconsistencies between the web simulator and real firmware (many games don’t work on the console) mixed with quite a poor editor made me wonder about a Python alternative. Its primary goal - beating current firmware: No differences between simulation and real firmware, ensuring code works everywhere HUGE performance improvement Updated API, making Sprig feel like a real game console Multiple-file workflow with imports Image-based graphics (instead of bitmaps) Better launcher experience What have I already implemented? By exploring MicroPython and testing the speed I saw something incredible - a seemingly equal setup had shockingly smooth perforemance, even reaching stable 60-ish fps! All thanks to these solutions: Python handles calculations, C handles hardware access Small framebuffer allocations within Python, C code handles displaying the pixels Utilization of the DMA (direct memory access) chip - allows no CPU use for certain memory transfers, which doesn’t block game loop In addition to this, Input, Rect drawing, persistent State store and general rendering now work flawlessly. Out of screen objects are not rendered (culled), which also helps with smooth frame times. Sprig’s official colors are also transferred perfectly! How did the development journey go so far? Initial build setup was quite complex, as I’ve never made a MicroPython derrivative, so I had to carefully plan the architecture (to make Resin firmware build, include custom libraries, and have in mind publication to PyPI). On top of that, the hardest part was getting hardware to register properly. Screen requires some magic bytes to be sent to initialize. SPI bridge for communication made things easier (having to manage only a handful of pins), however getting it to render colors and do so in correct orientation was a nightmare. Official repository was a great point for reference regarding to how hardware is configured and wired on the PCB, however I had to make my own research while implementing DMA chip framebuffer transfers. The rest is pure python - when I implement the game launcher and write a small utility to make game transfers easier, I will finish defining the rest of developer API. What’s next? Resolving bugs, writing a launcher, and, of course, a simulator, so that anyone can develop games for Sprig without the real hardware. This way Resin can even become a choice for game developers and function as a standalone game engine! Delta time for frametime-independent calculations and API guards to not overwrite important memory by accident are also one of my top priorities. What you see below is a test Python file running - no C code for game’s logic. If you have a Sprig and want to help me test Resin, DM me on Slack!"}]...

You install it with one command and get seven working commands: score, validate, train, find, master-word, help and credits. It checks words against Collins Scrabble Words 2019 (about 279,000 words), drills 2- and 3-letter words by starting letter, finds every word hiding in a rack of tiles (blanks included), and has a game where you draw 7 tiles from a real 100-tile bag and get three guesses at the highest-scoring word. What was challenging Making it work on someone else’s machine. Everything ran fine from my project folder, but a published package only includes what you tell npm to include. My first test install crashed on validate because words.txt hadn’t made it into the package at the time. Blank tiles. A ? in the terminal is a wildcard to the shell, so it needs quotes: scrabbly find “ret?ins”. Scoring blanks was also easy to get wrong. A blank has to be spent only after your real tiles, or it quietly scores as the letter it replaces. Flags. Shipping Scrabbly What I built Scrabbly is a command-line Scrabble trainer, and as of today it’s on npm. Flags. My plan had find -start qu, but Commander reads a single dash with a full word as five one-letter flags. It became –start, with -s as a short form. What I am proud of The way the code is split. The functions that work things out (scoreWord, findWords, isValidWord) never print anything. Hello everyone! I’m working on a desktop application that lets users map their controller buttons to keyboard keys, so that users can play browser-based games directly with their Xbox 360 or other gaming controller. Today i worked on key detection for all 14 buttons.
After working on input from the controller, I worked on the key simulation mapped to a button to check if the mapping actually simulates the key press or not, tested by mapping A on my controller to the space button and adding spaces between “this is” in Notepad. Tomorrow I’ll try mapping the joystick to W, A, S, D.
Today I worked on the joystick to W, A, S, D mapping, the positive and negative axis got mixed up at first because joystick up and down axis was -ve up, +ve down and -ve left, +ve right, why didn’t they mapped it like a coordinate plane but it’s done now.
Added right joystick controls, this joystick is used to move the player camera. It uses pygame’s mouse move to move the camera, the right joystick might not need to be mapped to something else. I tested it on the browser-based version of GTA Vice City, and it’s actually working!
Added Mouse clicks, most of the script is complete, now i’m going to design a GUI using PySide6(i don’t know how it works so i will watch some tutorials for it and maybe take some help from chatGPT) so users can easily map their keys instead of going through my messy code....
