PLANNING - A horror game just using a hallway
What a cozy hallway, i hope nothing bad happens… This is a tiny looping scene for my game 💯
post processing helps allat with atmosphere, a normal hallway turned scary
The lighting changes everything… Too bad these lights cant be baked in unity ;( but on the bright side, it does look creepier. I might add a flashlight to help the player see better, idk yet. I did more planning for the game’s story but still need to tweak some stuff, i’m not quite sure where my story is going haha
Added a few interactable items, who knew raycasting was so chill B) anyway, I added a cleaner hallway manager (for my sake) and made a little test monster >:) more changes to come… we are only getting started!!!
I think im slowly rotting while making this project, i just got done with some sound design, worked on making every loop different, and now… the story has PLOT!!! Oh, and I also made a main menu, but idk what to call the game yet… I could just use people’s suggestions… or come up with my own… or just call it “game name” P.S. there are two of them now, idk why
I finally came up with a name fore this game (low key i don’t know if imma stick with it : ) . Anyway, I added a little lobby and opening, and worked on loops 1-3. I’m currently working on loop 4 and these are the main point i need to finish Add loop 3 backward walk (sounds weird, but I got an idea) Opening scene (mainly done, just needs some cleanup) Ending (gonna be a while) chase scene (lol idk where to start) loop 4 (almost done) Tv should be on Tv should play audio when lights turn red, play questioning audio from phone

attempting to 3d model, then giving up (and just using an existing model), and now animating… Blender is too complicated for me, I’m sticking to cadding instead lol. What a journey.
animations on the way!!! and a few icon indicators replacing the crosshair. These few hours have been dedicated to debugging and adding more polishing details (sfx, anim, etc.) idk why im doing this so soon, just trying to keep some motivation. I still got allat of other features i need to implement. the game is almost there though 😭🙏
added a pause menu and an ending cutscene, but its kinda abrupt so i got to fix that… anyway i changed the name of the game again lol
i think i hate baking lighting
It has been awhile since one of my devlogs but i’ve been hard at work! Ive added some major (but necessary) changes to loop 4 and 7 bc i really hated them, but i dont know if i made it any better… The monster animations are almost done so i’ve imported the finished ones, I made the red room more red and a toy car cuz that’s scary or something (idk what i’m doing anymore), and some “cutscenes” to loop 7 to make the lore more confusing or something lol
I’m losing my motivation slowly, but the games is almost done. The animations are in place, the music is in place, and the scene is set. They might not be perfect, but the vision is there. I’m going to sleep now.
After so many messy files, a crazy confusing scene, and tireless hours, a solo horror project with a hallway is almost done. I have been debugging the small issues ive found (and can fix). Now, I’m exporting it right now, and will be sending it to a few people to play test. Will probably upload sometime today!
This game is still relatively new, so there are bound to be some crazy random issues, I’ve tried my best to get them all (i’ve attached pictures of some crazy errors i found lol), but for now… The itch.io page is finally up! https://newbiegamer.itch.io/no-answer P.S, sorry if it doesn’t live up to the hype lol

The attachment can be smaller, i only need it to hold the wing Height of attachment has to be taller than the servo3d printing issues? tolerences might be a problem, I can find a better printer to print on (friends, school, other sources) I want to add a MAX9814 microphone (used for loud noise detection, to make it so that if the butterfly is close to loud noises, the wings flap faster The servos need to be positional, origin will start the wings up CADDING To scale, size of the base should be 0.5 inch x 3.5 inch The base needed chamfers and fillets for printing the outlet/plug better Wing is 2.75 inch long, 0.75 diameter, fillets and chamfers to relieve sharp edges The wing should be taller than the servo, so that when I make butterfly wings (probably out of paper), it will sit nicely. BUT OMG IT’S COMPLETE IT’S REAL (If you can’t tell I’m very happy rn) to recap, I fumbled around with splitting the pcb, then I got strait to soldering. I started with the bridging connections between the halves. I was going to add small wires between them, but the pcb ended up being small enough to just put a bunch of solder on. Definitely want to replace those with vias in the future lol Then it was the diodes. These went pretty smoothly, not much to say. Then I soldered the seeed, oled, and encoder. the seeed was surprisingly easy, but the other two were quite annoying because some of the bridging details are too low to fit the components, so I had to cut them off. finally, all of the switches were put into the top shell and soldered onto the pcb. I way undersized the bolt holes, and especially the heatset insert holes, so I had to shove them in with a soldering iron. But at long last, it was complete, and it was beautiful This devlog also took a while because I spent a bunch of time fixing the firmware even though i didnt need to. Firmware time Omg the firmware is so much harder than I hoped I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m already tired and stressed, and the resources haven’t helped much so far. This feels like trying to piece together a program from someone else’s random programming language. At least it has ok documentation (for what I’m trying to do), but it’s just so confusing omg I’m like entering crash-out territory on this project Need help!
Firmware done… so I rushed out some quick firmware to get the sticker. I’m definitally gonna have to redo it lol hey, first ship soon though
Fancy Keys! I added piano keys! also fixed the mounting holes. custom knob next??? (actually I should fix the firmware first…)
OMG IT’S FINALLY DONE sorry for the lack of devlogs, I’ve been having some lapse issues. I works now though, and I’m happy I’m just so happy right now :))))
Ships:
Hack Piano A macropad, arranged like a piano! Features 12 MX-style keys, a rotary encoder, a OLED screen The firmware is fully functional (I’ve been using it daily myself!) This was a very complicated project, mainly due to the fact that I had to fit a 50mmx200mm pcb into a 100mmx100mm footprint. The readme explains the details. I originally wasn’t going to ship this because I was lazy and I thought it wouldn’t award stardust, but apparently I was wrong. better late than never! I had so much fun with this project, and I learned an insane amount about hardware, pcbs, and electronics! …even if sometimes I wanted to burn this thing on a stake....

Devlogs:
Devlog the first: the beggi the beginni the beginging the just set up the github, and made some rudimentary structs I won’t lie my C skills are Rusty af the roadmap ahead: drawing stuff on screen (raylib my beloved) making a circle drop (force -> velo -> pos) more circles expect this list to shift as I move ahead on this journey ;)
Devlog the second: Ok quick detour, I promise it’ll be fast so I’ve officially decided on using C for this project (for now…) I technically know how to write C, but I don’t know how to do so effectively, if you know what I mean. also I need to link raylib to get the program to compile So, why not use this as an excuse to learn all about compilers, cmake, .h files, libraries, linking, gcc, sublime text build systems, seems like a lot, is a lot the roadmap ahead: setup cmake so compiling with raylib isn’t annoying setup sublime text so running cmake isn’t annoying compile with raylib!
Devlog the third: IT’S ALIVE I mostly finished up the cmake config! it was actually a bit easier than I expected (although I did have to ask gemini a few questions) I don’t think I really understand it fully though, so I’ll keep tinkering with it while I move on to the next things speaking of which… the roadmap ahead: tinker with cmake a bit more drawing something on screen! prettying up the code (header files and what not) MOVEMENT crazy stuff, I know.
Devlog the fourth: IT MOVES You heard it right folks: I’ve finally got something moving on screen! didn’t capture it though cuz I didn’t feel like setting up screen capture rn despite the progress however, C just doesn’t feel right for this project.
