Devlogs:
Devlog 1 - The Schematic I started off my Hackpad today, this was designed around the Seeeduino. I decided I wanted 6 buttons, a rotary encoder, a little screen which I can utilise later and finally a little LED to be used as a status light to help understand what state the Hackpad is in. I spent about an hour making this schematic but most were spent in ensuring that the ERC would run correctly without any errors such as something stating its not connected while being connected. Finally, I finished the the schematic with a ERC with zero errors so next is the PCB layout. This was the first schematic I have ever made for a PCB so it definitely took longer that it maybe needed to
Devlog 2 - The PCB I went back and adjusted the schematic and removed the status LED as I was out of pins on the Seedunio and needed one more for the button press of the rotary encoder. From there I moved on to making the PCB design. This was hard and took me a few attempts to get wired correctly running into different issue where the traces would overlap leading me to be unable to connect them to the Seedunio. I finally finished the PCB design by adding the final M3 mounting holes for the case.
Devlog 3 - The Case After completing the schematic and the PCB I moved onto designing the case. This took me a while as this was the first time I had try to model something. I looked between onshape and fusion however fusion ultimately seemed to be the best software to use. After getting a slight understanding of the tool I made the case and it come out very nice. Next is the actual software.
Devlog 4 - The Pad The parts for my kit finally came recently and I got some time to put it together. After a while of assembling I finally flashed my firmware and got it all working, its the first time I’ve ever really soldered stuff and in my opinion its came out great. However I have ran into some issues, I completely forgot to record my assembly in lapse, my PCB doesn’t even fit into my case and the cut out for the screen was too small. On top of this the switches were so close together I had to snip the ends off. I think the next things I do before I ship will be making sure it fits in the case, making a knob for the encoder and maybe making some really small keycaps due to my mistake of putting the switches so close
Devlog 5 - Encoder cover I spent a short while just making a nice cover for the encoder on the pad, didn’t take me ages now that I’ve gotten a bit better at fusion. I think I will have to model my own key caps because none still seem to fit....

Devlogs:
Devlog 1 - The Start I started creating my WebOS which is themed around subnautica, I added my profile picture and made it so that it can be clicked to get to my GitHub account, I also added a little photo of a pet I have.
Devlog 2 - OS bar I learnt a little more about javascript making this part of the WebOS as I had to use javascript in order to get the date and time to line up with the current time inside of the bar. I also decided to move where the was when I first created it to the bottom similar to how windows is. Finally I also made the welcome message which I thought was nicely made and im ready to make the moveable windows for the OS
Devlog 3 - Windows After a bit of debugging I finally added the function to open and close the window, being able to actually get the windows to be moveable was less of a hassle. The javascript is set up to make making new windows easier for apps I created on the OS. Next is actually making my first app for this.
Devlog 4 - My first app I created my first basic app for the webOS, it holds a little information about some of the creatures that can be found in subnautica. This has taken me a large amount of time of debugging and testing to get things to work such as window selection and styling. This was mainly due to javascript as I dont really have a big understanding on it.
Devlog 5 - Click animation This was way easier to make compared to the things I had to make before this, all it is, is a simple effect that plays when the desktop is clicked, its simple but I think looks nice and fits the theme overall of the site.
Devlog 6 - Intro Animation I cleaned up code to make it overall more optimised. The main thing I got to do was adding an intro animation to the site. It made it look a little fancier and reminiscent to the intro of subnautica itself. I got stuck getting text to show up on the page but after a bit of debugging I made the overlay work and now it works great
Devlog 7 - Second app This app is a pretty basic app yet its still a little complicated to make. I had to clean up little bits of code from other things and adjust it to make it easier to make new apps and add onto the code that was already made. Styling was easy as it all uses one mostly universal theme. Notes can be saved and deleted however I want to add the ability to load them off of the desktop which I may work on.
Devlog 8 - Saving Notes I added the ability for notes to be saved to the browser so that even on a refresh of the page you could still use the notes already made. I spent a lot of time debugging this as it was super complex to get working but it finally works.
Ships:
This WebOS is themed around subnautica, I found alot of the javascript challenging, understanding how to make the code and ensuring it all works too without any issues took me a while, this was why one of the devlogs had 6 hours logged. I am really proud of the project overall and I really liked how I started to understand JavaScript to make some of the features I wanted such as the sonar effect when the desktop thing.
This is my ship for the WebOS 2 mission. It’s built off of the original WebOS mission site but even flashier. The notes app I have created is what I am the most proud of because notes can be saved and loaded even if the page is refreshed. It was complicated getting all of it to work but I’m really happy and enjoyed getting it to a finished state....

Hey everyone! I finished adding parts to my imported board on Onshape and then started working on the casing.
Wrapped up the final production files to officially submit the project. I fixed the C code to successfully compile the QMK firmware, generated the KiCad gerbers and drill files for the PCB, and converted the CAD assembly to a .3mf to bypass file limits. Finished the session by structuring the GitHub repository, formatting the README with the BOM and screenshots, and dropping the final post in the ships channel.
Ships:
I built the Specter V1! It is a custom 9-key macropad featuring a rotary encoder and an OLED display, powered by a Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040. I designed the 2-layer PCB from scratch in KiCad and modeled the custom two-part case enclosure using Onshape. I think the biggest hurdle with my project was just the fact that I’m new to PCB building so I was making a lot of little errors in the schematic that I was able to fix at the end. I’m most proud of my design, especially having the NY Knicks logo and representing the city I’m from....

Devlog 1: Made the base and primary stem for the luminator umbrella. Project intro: Luminator is an adaptive lighting system engineered to recreate authentic, studio-like light environments in any space, delivering crisp light quality that blends to your needs.
The main base part and its attachment to the primary stem didn’t seem strong enough and were really bulky, so I totally redesigned it. Now the base and the primary stem are a single part, and the shifters for the umbrella will be supported by a hooked spring and latch mechanism instead of a thread and latch(which was also really doubtful to work).
After making a strong, clean base & stem, I continued working on the shifters for the umbrella skeleton, whose function is to change the softness of the light as they shift along the primary stem. Two different types of shifters are required for this function, which I just completed.
Designed a simple latch mechanism for the shifters to keep them locked in place (along the primary stem). These are small and strong enough to hold the shifters in place against the spring. Feels like good progress :)
Extrude the main slider for the shifters so that the umbrella skeleton can be attached with the help of hooks. This will allow the skeleton to shift easily according to the requirements and adjust the softness of the light behind it. Simultaneously, I tried different spots to attach the hooks and ultimately decided on a 10 mm depth from the extruded surface.
Designed the tertiary stem for the soft-light umbrella.
I did many things today and am documenting them in this journal entry. Most of them were design revisions and corrections, along with designing something new. Design secondary stem. Revise the tertiary stem; add a hinge system to attach it to the quaternary stem. Add a surface in the shifter to place hooks (below, in the primary stem). Add a surface in the shifter to place hooks (above, in the primary stem). Tag on the shifter (above). Test the hinge system alignment and operation. Stem supporters. (SS attached only for the top 4 tasks)
Did some small changes and here are the other 3 pics of the progress in the previous journal entry.
Made the enclosure for the light umbrella. Made it simple: magnet-supported locking and a small chain handle (not attached in the 3d print pic). (4rth pic is assembly of enclosure)
Made a tonnnnnn of small design changes so that the stuff is correct in real not just CAD ;)
Final touches and now the project is all ready !!yay!! Next, draft a bom.csv to fund.
Tried assembling parts 1,2 and 3....

Devlogs:
Admin page (and connected to backend) done, where “admins” insert urls to be labelled as requested by clients and identify possible categories all urls might fall under, and submit urls and categories to the database. Labeller page partially done, where labellers “get a new task” that renders a url and lists categories as checkboxes to be ticked off and an additional textbox for any additional identifiable labels. To-do next: connect label submission buttons to endpoint in backend.
Added a text area for labellers to input their names, and updated the “submit labels” button so that it now collects labels from ticked checkboxes and other descriptive labels, and sends them to the database. So now the labeller’s name and the labels can be recorded in the database! Next step is to integrate AI for checking.
Added unit tests, restyled both admin and labeller html pages. Started on AI logic
Finished up unit tests for labeller, ai qc and human qc. Also finished the ai qc and human qc endpoints + added human qc html page :) The image attached here is also a recent addition, the main index.html page showcasing a brief intro of this project, the pipeline, and links to the three html pages. Also major development: added a way for others to test my project with/without API keys for Gemini or Turso (database), and updated README with implementation steps; will ship soon yayy
Finally fixed AI QC not running (model incompatibility): Human QC page now can receive tasks that failed the AI QC! I also wrote end to end tests that start up a uvicorn server and mocks Gemini + uses playwright to drive HTML pages for happy, sad and edge cases to make sure it really works. Going to ship now :) I hope someone can find this helpful!
Deployed the whole thing onto Render to bypass local installs.

I started by following the guide step-by-step so I could have a basic setup to add upon later. Apps Ended up adding three apps (photobook, about, video archive): their icons act as window opener / closer buttons to minimise or reopen a window. Each app has a designated resizable and draggable window. ONly video archive can be set to fullscreen (intentional choice that I may change later) The photobook showcases my art and figurines, and hovering above each image reveals a unique caption for that image! The video archive is a set of videos from yt that I collected to have a curated video feed. It features embeds. The about me window is self-explanatory. I tried to use social media icons for the contact section, but ended up using AI to create unique SVGs. Challenges I tried to add an MP3 player that I built for my old site as an iframe but there were many broken links and images that it was too much of a hassle. Might add it in afterwards or rebuild it from scratch. Main challenge was also that for most of the time the interface just looked so ugly 😭😭😭 took quite some time just getting the visuals right (I still think it can improve but eh). Also misc challenges, I SPENT 2 HOURS wondering why my windows weren’t draggable. I spent that time tweaking my html and js files, but I DIDN’T EVEN ATTACH THE SCRIPT to my main html. L Anyway, that’s it for now! Added some windows to test out styles and top bar. Windows are draggable and closable :) I want to make a fairytale themed OS so let’s see how this goes…
Made some stylistic changes! -Added my programmer’s signature to the middle of the top bar -Changed the design of windows -Added app icons as if a standard desktop to open the windows and ofc -Added to my about me. My social links are also in :)
MADE WINDOWS RESIZABLEE
-Added fullscreen option -Added new app :3 video archive! embeds yt videos for a curated feed! The requirements for webOS 1 are met already so I’ll ship this first and add more features later on!
Updated the readme, working on a new “notion-like” app (utilizes notion api), fixed some stylistic issues, added a noticeboard for important info on the go.
Ships:
I made a basic OS interface. Hope this basic OS is acceptable enough :) I intend for it to be a productivity tool for myself so I’ll def add on to it later, this first ship is just for WebOS 1 requirements....
