Currently on a bus to Toronto, fighting bad Wi-Fi and smelly passengers just to work on this! I managed to spend 30 minutes tweaking my settings and finally designing the casing for the gearbox. Progress is slow, but moving.
I worked really hard today and finally fixed the issues I was having with the metal rod pinion gear holder and the cams. Those parts were giving me a lot of trouble. With that out of the way, I built a full outer shell to enclose the gearbox. I also put together a complete assembly and made an exploded view to show exactly how all the pieces fit together. It is looking really good and is almost completely finished.I just need to add a little bit of polish to the final assembly. After that is done, my next goal is to work on a parametric version so I can easily change the gear ratios and tolerances without having to rebuild the whole file.
I spent an hour setting up a parametric design so I can easily change dimensions on the fly. The main goal today was shrinking the overall footprint. I accidentally ended my recording early today lmao. It cuts off while I was right in the middle of working on a lightweight and thin footprint for the gearbox assembly. My recording ended early on accident again today š„. I still logged about 40 minutes of work though. I spent that time finishing up the casing and adjusting the main assembly. I also added heat set inserts so putting the physical parts together will be much easier.
Just finished the parts list for my gearbox project! I spent a decent amount of time sourcing everything from Amazon and really tried to keep the budget under $100 total.
I just made a quick draft of my read me before I go sleep today side note im #11 hacktime bum in canada. I wanna be number one in da world before end of summer!
I followed the readme rules more seriously and came up with a new version of a readme along with a more specific section that explains the math and mechanics more in depth.
I spent sum time stress testing the parametric model and goofing around with the chassis model to see if I can fit it in....

This ended up being a much bigger redesign than I originally expected, especially with the butterfly pod. Almost every part of the pod went through multiple iterations to solve packaging, efficiency, strength, and center-to-center issues. The butterfly pod went through some of the biggest changes in the entire DT. I originally experimented with a gear-based reduction and linkage system, but after testing it, I decided gears werenāt the right solution. They added unnecessary noise, were less efficient, and made packaging much harder. The final design now uses belts for both reductions, including the butterfly mechanism. This made the system quieter, more efficient, and much easier to fit into the limited space. I also completely redesigned the butterfly linkage. Instead of using a single-sided linkage, I designed a double-sided linkage system that supports the mechanism from both sides. This makes the pod much more rigid and robust while reducing unwanted movement. Another major change was the wheel system. I moved away from using a COTS wheel and instead designed the wheel around a custom silicone-molded tire. This gave me more control over the geometry and let me integrate the wheel much better with the rest of the pod.The hub and mounting system were also redesigned from the ground up. I designed my own dead-axle hubs and reworked the surrounding structure so everything could fit within the extremely tight packaging constraints. One of the biggest challenges was getting everything to fit within 56 mm of thickness on each side. This forced me to rethink the position and configuration of almost every component in the pod. I also moved several components lower toward the ground to improve the center of gravity and overall stability. Once I worked through all the issues with the master sketch, the rest of the design became a process of slowly building everything back up, part by part. Because of all the belt center-to-center issues, I ended up redesigning almost every part and subassembly configuration. The CAD and wiring are now fully finished, and Iāve also made several renders of the completed DT. Looking back at all the iterations, the butterfly pod has probably changed the most. The physical butterfly module is fully assembled. While FTC Team 26000 used a different wheel layout, this design places one larger wheel in the center of the module. This configuration centers the 104mm mecanum wheel and uses the GT2 belt reduction to link it to the first stage, maintaining a balanced center of mass.Master Sketch CompletionThe master sketch for both the main chassis and the butterfly module is finished. Just some basic changes to the master sketch upon further review it seems there are bigger issues most likely require deeper revision. It all stems from changing the motor diameter it changes center to center distances in the belts as well causes a whole slew of issues.

Devlogs:
devlog#1 i am learning css, html and js for the first time and so far i have made a search bar for the weather app for which i made a style.css file and a index.html file . i have made the search bar to have a gradient and also added a search icon. also added search bar prompt text inside the search bar.
devlog#2 i have completed my weather app. now if you load the app on the browser it displays the search bar. the app displays the temperature of the place its wind speed and its humidity percentage. the icons/images of the clouds change according to the weather of the place. it also displays an error message āinvalid city nameā when a wrong city name is entered and it is also displayed when a wrong spelling is entered. now i am planning to change the font and overall look of the webpage by creating custom assets and artwork
devlog#3 after completing my weather app i planned to change how it looked and up til now i have changed its font to mojangles which is the minecraft font now i will change its back ground and weather icons to minecraft theme. i will be making them in libresprite
devlog#4 i created a stone brick wall in libresprite for the background now i am going to customize the icons also and i am also thinking of adding a sound affect when you press enter or click the search icon
devlog#5 i have now changed the color of the search bar and the shape of the search button i have also added a minecraft click sound effect when you press enter or when you click the search button
devlog#6 i have replaced the sun weather icon with the minecraft sun which i drew in libresprite and also added a glow affect. now i am going to customize the other remaining weather icons in minecraft themeand then i will ship this project
devlog#7 i have now also changed the search icon
devlog#8 now i have customized the cloudy weather icon . i didnt draw the actual clouds which are in the game because they did not look good so i just made normal clouds
devlog#9 now i have changed the icons for wind speed and humidity percentage which are displayed at the bottom
devlog#10 i have now replaced the snow weather icon with a snow ball which is inside the game minecraft. in the screenshot its not actually snowing in new jersey i just set the code to display the snow icon in every city because i could not find any city where it was snowing and i had to see how the icon looked :))
devlog#11 i have now replaced the rain weather icon . this time i made the clouds a little different and boxy, i want yāall to tell me if they look good and if i should replace the old clouds which i drew for the other weather icons with the clouds that i drew right now
devlog#12 now i have changed the mist weather icon now only the drizzle icon is left then Iāll fix the droplet(humidity icon) then maybe ill change the background to a minecraft biome or Iāll set conditions to change the background according to the temperature for example if the temperature is cold and freezing ill make a condition to display the snow biome in the background
devlog#13 now my weather app also displays the real time of the city or place which is entered i have also changed the drizzle weather icon
devlog#14 i have now changed my cursor to a diamond sword from minecraft to make it more minecraft themed
devlog#15 i have now added the clock icon from minecraft beside the time
devlog#16 i have fixed some bugs in my app, it showed random cities when you entered random numbers that is now fixed and now i am currently drawing different backgrounds which will be displayed according to the temperature for example if the temperature is higher than 30 degrees it will display a desert biome and if the temperature is below 10 degrees it will display a snow biome and if the temperature is above 10 and below 30 degrees it will display a normal grass biome. the picture below is the normal grass biome it is almost complete i just have to fix some things on it then i will draw the other biome backgrounds
devlog#17 i have added i 5-day weather forecast it displays the temperature and weather condition for the next five days for the city entered, when you click on the forecast the background changes to a brick wall so that it looks good when you scroll down...

working on my personal website, Iāve added a section about myself, my interests, and some of the projects Iāve worked on. itās a simple white page for now, but Iāll work on the design later. for now, Iām focusing on getting the content and structure right.
worked on the ui of this website. gave it a dark theme. also made a few tweaks to the project cards and links. still a work in progress, but itās starting to look more like what i had in mind!
decided to redo the CSS myself this time, without AI assistance! this is the current HTML skeleton, with the navigation links and photography section added. time to make it look like an actual website :]
worked on the project cards, link colors, and general layout. still a work in progress.
added my own photography to the site and gave the ui a little makeover. went with a paper like background texture, photo frames, and subtle shadows for a scrapbooky feel. calling it done for now!
the paper theme wasnāt really feeling like me, so i decided to switch things up. added some moving stars with js and gave the site a space themed color!
created project cards and refined with a cool zoom out effect with subtle glow when the pointer hovers over project cards
aligned the project cards in to two column and added a glow to the headings
added a few more pics in my photography section
Redesign the hero section, added a typewriter animation & improved mobile navigation :)
added an aurora background to make the website look more appealing! I think Iāve made some significant changes since my last ship, so I guess itās time to ship again
I looked at the reviews and Iām currently working on updates. I will push my commits to git hub soon. here are the updates i made 1) i fixed the 2 column layout of my photography grid and made it 4, looks way better now! with all the images properly visible. 2) I added an interactive constellation mini-game: users can now click on individual stars and connect them to draw their own glowing constellations!

(i used fetch API)
for those who want to know how i receive the messages sent through my website!
i got reviews which stated that it took time to them to figure out how the constellation mini game i added. so Iām planning to add a mini character (an astronaut) which pops out when someone opens my website and give instructions to help them out!
I see people still have a lot of doubts so hereās a video proof that i do get receive the messages!

I built a personal website to showcase my projects, interests, and a little bit about myself beyond just tech. I wanted something that felt more personal than a typical portfolio. Reshipping āMy Spaceā As I said, Iāve been working non-stop on this website and taking feedback into account and adding features to make it more interactive. Time for a reship! Write me anything yāall want! (And bots, Iāve added anti-spamming feature so do not try)
I believe the instructions for the ācreate your own constellationā was not clear in the last ship, hence i added a character to help yāall out! you can now draw your own constellation designs by connecting the stars If thereās anything youād like to tell me you can send me a transmission under ācontact me elsewhereā page....
