For each and every feature added, the number of variables skyrockets, making it very hard to debug and work in any circumstance. For example, I was stuck for so long trying to solve an error that was caused by an unintentional slip of my keyboard, removing the f before an f-string. The issue wasn’t solving the error, it was finding where it was. I was considering such big things, when the reality was much smaller. I also accidentally slipped in a backslash in the version number, which was very fast to fix in the code after I realized it, but I had already pushed and tagged it. That was another one of my very big keyboard slip-ups. Encountering this taught me how to handle catastrophic errors once they’ve already been pushed. And, outside of the coding aspect, I think I really grew in my documentation skills. This was my first ever project with an image, database schemas, or tables for installation in the README. And, I created an X/Twitter account to try and bring more traction to my code for the purposes of this project, my first time using social media to publicize my code. I still have more things in plan for this project."}]...

It does not utilize any CSS or JavaScript frameworks, and requires no setup (unless you want to make it your new tab page, which requires finding an appropriate extension). When I started this project, I was thinking “Ooh! 60 stardust ! I’ll do it in half an hour!” That statement was partly true, but obviously wasn’t, since I have logged eight hours with this project. While I got a technically fully working site in an hour and 20 minutes, that was far less complex than it is now. While every feature this New Tab page has looks very simple on the outside, they actually require a lot of coding to accomplish, with most of the coding making the features work with each other, not the feature itself. For example, when I added a search option for the dropdown menu, I had to fiddle with datalists for two and a half hours. And the silly thing is, I didn’t assign a value to any of the options! I was just relying on its textContent! That was very hard to add back later! I proud that I sat down for as long as it took each session and grinded through this project. To search for an option, click on the input to the left of the main search box, and simply type what you are thinking of. To view all of the options, visit the search-providers.md file in the documentation. Started TN Search, my own New Tab Page. I thought I would never be able to make something like this, but here I am, already done with one of the hardest parts! It only supports Google search right now, but I plan to add support for more search engines! You can try it out at tn-search.pages.dev!
I just sat down and added the ability to differentiate between websites and search queries to my new tab page! Most of the time was spent randomly troubleshooting, because my code was correct, but livereload wasn’t working! I finally found it out when I looked in the developer console and saw my code wasn’t the same as my most recent additions. At least I learned one more thing to check before giving up hope!
I recently just made a very, very big change to my new tab page! Up until recently, only the Google search engine was supported. But now, it supports 11 search engines and a miraculous number of search tools—44! This totals 66 search options in total! In order to handle these many searching options, each option in the dropdown menu contains a data-url attribute that is then taken by the getSearchURL() function to generate the URL for the search query. In order to fix this, I set the flex-direction to column and wrapped the dropdown menu and input into a div so they would be on the same horizontal line, while the search button would be below.
Well, this is a very, very big devlog! Here is what has been added since the last devlog! Users now have the ability to search through the long list of search engines/tools. This is a very major accomplishment, which required a lot of debugging. There is a nice digital clock above the search input! It even has a cool green dropshadow! Though only two big features were added, the reason this took 2 and a half hours was because of one single word. That word, you might be asking, is errors .
I just added a very nice README to TN Search! I also made a SECURITY.md file for reporting security vulnerabilities, and a search-providers.md that lists every single supported search provider!
I just made it so TN Search saves your search provider choice to local storage so it will persist, forever! While this would normally be a couple second change, there was a lot of error handling I had to do to make this work!
Ships:
I created TN Search, a New Tab Page offering over 50 search engines and tools for various workflows, built for developers, by a developer. Or, remove the text from the provider input box and click it once more before unfocusing....

I originally had it under the WarioWare game mission, but I eventually decided I should detach it from it due to the sheer complexity of this game, which is way above the beginner mission. In the game, players are put through what is currently 12 minigames. Each minigame has a strict timer limit, whether it be losing a life or progressing to the next minigame once it strikes 0. In case you are confused, the way they win a life at the end is if the purpose of the minigame is to survive a certain amount of time against computer-generated obstacles, like arrows or orbs (essentially meteors). The very interesting thing about this game is the two endings: the ending you get when you complete all the minigames with lives to spare, and the one when you lose all of your five lives. These endings, which I will not explain in detail (so it is not spoiled for you!), highlight the eternity of automatically generated code files. The opening scene of the game is the Tyleruploads Mountain Range, which shows many mountains connected via bridges. The suspension for those bridges is the game’s logo turned into a bunch of small links. Metaphysically, the game’s goal is to cross these bridges. Many parts of this project were extremely challenging for me. For one, I had never set foot in Godot at all before embarking on this project. I was also a complete newcomer to any sort of game development. I encountered many errors caused by my being just introduced to GDScript and game development, such as not knowing that scripts continue after changing the scene, the absence of a deferred call causing the game to go completely grey, losing a lot of work in video editing software while making the gameplay trailer video, and many more small and large things. In every ship message for prior Stardance projects, I have said something like “Wow! Before I started, I really didn’t think I could do something this complex. I really just transformed my coding abilities.” But this time, I am not going to repeat that basic fib without any supporting arguments. My previous Stardance projects were nowhere near this length. So, I would like to make a new claim now. That claim is that while I have not become a completely new developer or graphic designer or anything, I have dipped into a new path of development that I will have the choice to either continue to pursue or to reap the benefits of the mindset associated with it as I enter high school. For these reasons, along with the fact that I was able to sit down and write quality code for one project for 51 hours, I am very proud of myself. My viewpoint of “sit down and make a decent project and leave it” has been greatly diminished outside of specific contexts.", "repo": "https://github.com/tyleruploads/code-ware", "demo": "https://tyleruploads.itch.io/codeware"}]...

It has really been a great project that has significantly pushed what I think about my development capabilities. But I will explain that more in the ship message! The main change made over the time of this devlog was a complete revamp of the README! Here is a summary of the changes made to it: The following shields have been added: Play on GitHub Pages, Made with Godot, GitHub Release (version number), and GitHub Commit Activity The hero image near the top of the README, depicting the title screen, has been replaced with a gameplay video for the game, with a hero of minigame 6 (Unintelligent Arrows) The minigames section has been moved to near the bottom of the README to make the start of the README a better hook. And the minigame descriptions and hero images inside the section have been put inside a spoiler notice, so the game can not be easily spoiled for players. And the hero images in the minigame section have been converted from Markdown tags to HTML tags in order to enforce a specific width."}, {"post_id": 76860, "ts": "2026-10-04T21:10:06Z", "hours": 2.3425, "text": "This will be one of my very last devlogs before I ship CodeWare! Minigame 11 of CodeWare is titled “Type the Strings,” and players must type 15 five-character strings provided to them in less than one minute. The string is generated from a pool of characters with lookalikes (i.e., Z and 2, S and 5, O and 0, I and l, etc.) removed to ensure it is completely fair for the user. This was definitely one of the easier minigames to code, but it wasn’t the easiest thing ever. I still ran into some issues, like the vertical alignment of a RichTextLabel being a bit too low when dynamically updating its content in GDScript to show a custom notice to the user (I fixed it by changing it to a normal Label, after troubleshooting for way too long)."}, {"post_id": 74691, "ts": "2026-09-28T00:28:50Z", "hours": 3.545, "text": "I just did a lot of asset updating and linting! I’ll just show you how minigame one looks now; no need for a detailed explanation of everything. Now, I have to address the boring part, which took most of the three and a half hours. That would be linting! It is named “RGB Skills.” In the minigame, there are two colors: one generated automatically by the code, and one controlled by manual RGB Sliders. It validates the user’s guess using the GDScript method Vector3.distance_to() . The method uses the 3D Pythagorean theorem to calculate the Euclidean Distance between the RGB values, as if they were plotted in a 3D space. This works because the red value represents the x-axis, the green value represents the y-axis, and the blue value represents the z-axis on a 3D graph. This was very interesting for me to discover, since I only learned the 2D Pythagorean theorem last year (in seventh grade). The game also starts the sliders at the furthest possible points from the target color, which makes the minigame harder. If the player clicks the submit button without making any changes, they will not pass. And yes, I know they could easily invert the colors to find the right one. The only thing is, they probably didn’t read this devlog. A good strategy to stay alive is moving from side to side and never stopping, because there are really fast ones that come before you can even react. The first minigame background and the title scene background contain a mountain range, a sunset, and one or multiple bridges. The second minigame background is two eyes in many perfectly aligned rectangles. Make death scene. Previously, I only had a win screen in the game (a very anticlimactic one at best, in a purposeful way). Now, I added a death scene too! The death scene links with the idea of the two sides of eternity (or infinity) connected by a small path because the user is showed specific text by automatic vertical scrolling, then they click a button to get thrown right back to the first minigame, as if nothing happened. They can do this as many times as they want; the bridges between the two halves of eternity represented by infinity are very strong, the same bridges connecting the mountains. Replace unused settings button with extras. The main menu used to contain a button labeled “Settings,” which would take the user to a blank scene with no way to get back. It has now been replaced with an “Extras” button, which contains an Asset Gallery that allows users to look at the beautiful game assets and obviously, a credits section. Universal back buttons. Now, users can always get back to some point in the game (including the title screen), even if they are in the infinite end scene."}, {"post_id": 63976, "ts": "2026-09-08T02:12:04Z", "hours": 2.1261, "text": "I JUST MADE THE END SCENE! Heres my commit history for this devlog: Add basic src/export_presets.cfg 1 file changed, 431 insertions(+) Make publishing workflow to compile 1 file changed, 66 insertions(+) Fix Linux export in export_presets.cfg to work with workflow 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) Set project directory in workflow 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 4 deletions(-) Remove export_path for windows in export_presents.cfg to fix CI/CD 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) Hopefully fixes CI/CD 1 file changed, 6 insertions(+), 9 deletions(-) Make macOS only support x86_64 to fix CI/CD issue 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) Add bundle identifier for macOS (why does it have to be such a pain?) 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) The mac strikes back: import ETC2 ASTC compession for macOS 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) Add initial project import step to CI/CD 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+) Cd into src before initializing godot 2 files changed, 2 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) Remove cding into src and add export_templates_path 1 file changed, 5 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) The mac struck back yet again: emancipated 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 4 deletions(-) I rebased it to “Add support for every OS; remove support for macOS (it struck back, like starwars)”
I JUST MADE THE END SCENE! It is very complex. But, I can’t spoil it! Here’s the code. It’s your choice to go line by line and spoil it for yourself.
Wow! 8 hours is a lot of time! Here’s what I did! Create all new assets. I made a new icon and background for the title screen and both minigames. The icon features an infinity symbol cut in half but connected with the parts in between them in a bit of a 3D-like arrangement, symbolizing two sides of eternity connected by small paths. Now, users can always get back to some point in the game (including the title screen), even if they are in the infinite end scene.
I just made some nice changes to CodeWare! I added pause, unpause, and reset functionality. This was in the README as coming soon for a while. I relocated script locations and removed ambiguity from a script named ‘self_timer.gd’ by renaming it ‘minigame_1_timer.gd,’ which makes it not look wrong when next to ‘minigame_2_timer.gd.’ And, I added the version number to the title menu!
I just added the third minigame to CodeWare! It is titled “Hit the Circles.” In the minigame, you start with a balance of -15, and each circle you hit, you get +1 balance! It is kindove like Whack-a-Mole (don’t sue me Mattel.) This marks version 0.6.0 of the game!
I just put CodeWare on GitHub pages! You can view it at https://tyleruploads.github.io/code-ware/ ! I also upped the time for a minigame after a web playtest determined the amount of time given was not enough to complete the task at hand.
This is a short one! I just integrated it with the Itch.io Butler API, so it will automatically update its Itch.io game whenever I make a new release! Currently, it is a draft on Itch.io. You can view the draft at https://tyleruploads.itch.io/codeware?secret=CDZUB2MTxYCmNQ70VRagItDLSTg . Sometime before I ship, I will make the Itch.io page public, which may bring in some players.
I just added two minigames to CodeWare! The first minigame I just added, minigame 4, titled “Dodge the Flying Balls,” has users dodge flying balls (referred to as meteors in the code) for 45 seconds. Each hit takes away 10% of the user’s health. It can actually be pretty hard. A good strategy to stay alive is moving from side to side and never stopping, because there are really fast ones that come before you can even react. The second minigame I just added, minigame 5, titled “Click Very Fast,” has the user click on a big circular button in the middle 100 times in less than 20 seconds. I have tested it many times, and it is just the right time (at least for now). You can play the game at https://tyleruploads.github.io/code-ware/
I just completely refactored, everything! I made many new directories in order to organize the entire repository much better! This took an hour because of the debugging and other related changes to the code associated with a complete structural refactor. It definitely was not a calm, easy hour.
I just created the sixth minigame, “Unintelligent Arrows,” in CodeWare! In the minigame, users have to dodge countless arrows that are described as unintelligent purely based on their inability to change paths once shot. If you weren’t already guessing, I am planning on making an intelligent-arrow-themed minigame in the future, possibly inspired by 1948 in some ways. This game is actually getting nice and long, way longer than I thought it would be at the start. When I shared it with people a while ago, it was very short. Now, it’s decently long! Once I add a lot more minigames, I will consider making them go in random order and giving them difficulty tags to determine when they should be shown.
I just balanced minigame 6, “Unintelligent Arrows,” after feedback from Hack Club members. I made users have more time to react before getting hit by the arrows. I have not released this update yet; once I apply some other suggestions from the community, I will release it as v0.11.0.
After receiving feedback from the Hack Club community, I have made these changes to CodeWare. The icon has been updated to increase contrast and to look better at small resolutions Minigame 6, “Unintelligent Arrows,” has been balanced to be easier for users to complete WASD Movement has been added to all games Support for held jumps has been added to the first minigame, “Orb Collection Platformer” An ambiguity in the README about the objective has been corrected
I just made two new assets for CodeWare! They are the players in minigames 4 and 6. Here is a photo of one of them.
I just released version v0.13.0 of CodeWare! In this version, I have completely changed the sound environment of the game! I will explain it with two basic pseudocode (or Python) logic statements! prev_sound = sound in v0.12.0 curr_sound = sound in v0.13.0 print(prev_sound, curr_sound) # False, True What I’m trying to illustrate here is that there was absolutely no sound before, and now there is! There is a background ticking noise playing (forever) through an autoload and sound effects corresponding to in-minigame events. Feel free to test it at https://tyleruploads.itch.io/codeware?secret=CDZUB2MTxYCmNQ70VRagItDLSTg ! Send any feedback in the comments!
I just made version v0.14.0 of CodeWare! In this version, I added the eighth minigame, “Choose the Boxes!” The user has 30 seconds to choose 20 boxes by clicking on the one matching the color of the center box. I also went through and removed unnecessary log statements and unused variables.
I just made the ninth minigame for CodeWare, “The Maze!” In the minigame, the user needs to get to the center of the maze in less than 18 seconds! They move a mini tyleruploads texture with arrow keys and WASD to eventually get to the bigger one in the middle! I had a lot of trouble with physics here, hence the 2 hours! And, I’ve never made any sort of maze before, so this is a first!
I just made the tenth minigame for CodeWare! So, they’ll have no clue of the fact the sliders were placed at the inversion of the target color.
I just did a lot of asset updating and linting! The part I think would be most interesting to you is obviously the asset updates. I changed the assets in Minigame 1, 3, 4, and 9! I also updated the gallery, accessible in the extras menu, to include new assets I’ve forgotten to put in there for a while now. I’ll just show you how minigame one looks now; no need for a detailed explanation of everything. Now, I have to address the boring part, which took most of the three and a half hours. That would be linting! It’s pretty self-explanatory: I went through and made the scenes and scripts adhere to style guidelines.
In the Newspaper department at my summer sleepaway camp this year, they always said, “If the number is less than 11, spell it out.” CodeWare has officially surpassed this guideline in the number of its minigames. I still ran into some issues, like the vertical alignment of a RichTextLabel being a bit too low when dynamically updating its content in GDScript to show a custom notice to the user (I fixed it by changing it to a normal Label, after troubleshooting for way too long).
I just created the twelfth mingame of CodeWare, “Catch the Falling Orbs!” In it, you have 45 seconds to catch 35 falling orbs by moving left and right with your keyboard.
This will be one of my very last devlogs before I ship CodeWare! I just created the gameplay trailer, which is a huge accomplishment! This is my first time making any sort of video for anything I make in the computer world, and I think it actually turned out very well! The video shows potential players what the game will look like and gives a glimpse of its unexpected win-and-lose endings. I also put the video on the game’s Itch.io page, which will be made public very soon. You can view the video on YouTube here: CodeWare - Official Gameplay Video
This marks v1.0.0! This is my FINAL devlog for CodeWare (at least the first ship)! And the hero images in the minigame section have been converted from Markdown tags to HTML tags in order to enforce a specific width.
Ships:
I created CodeWare, a WarioWare-style video game where you have to complete various minigames, written in Godot. My viewpoint of “sit down and make a decent project and leave it” has been greatly diminished outside of specific contexts....

The first, arguably most major addition, is that MDEZ++ has been added to Flathub, the Linux App Store for Flatpak apps! A Flatpak is a file format that allows you to run applications with universal compatibility between different Linux distributions, extreme security, rootless installation, space-efficient runtimes, and without endless dependencies. It isn’t like PyPI (the Python central repository of projects, installable with pip ), in the sense that every Flatpak application must be actually reviewed and accepted by human volunteers. Since I just got it added yesterday, don’t fret if it says the checks are failing! The two things it failed were business color schemes (for the Flathub website) and the summary length, neither of which impact the user in any way. You can view the Flathub listing here . An edit menu has also been added to MDEZ++! In this edit menu, users who are rusty on Markdown syntax are able to access actions that fill in Markdown syntax for them. If text is highlighted, it will apply the syntax to that text. Whereas, if no text is highlighted, it will apply blank Markdown syntax and move the cursor to the appropriate position for them to be able to instantaneously begin typing. And font point size settings have been added for the editor and renderer. It’s not much of a big thing, but it is definitely a big thing to troubleshoot right now. I am currently in the process of making MDEZ++ support multiple tabs, making it a TDI (Tabbed Document Interface), rather than an SDI (Single Document Interface). Everything is going well so far, aside from the fact that the font point size setting is magically just not working for the rendering pane. I checked, and it doesn’t have to do with an iteration of the tabs. Each and every tab is still having the code run to change the font size, and it is correctly finding the correct widget to run the code on—the same code that worked before. But it somehow just isn’t working. This is going to be a manhunt. I also made a Linux setup script (installer)! You can just run the following command on ANY Linux terminal to install Flathub (or compile it on your own, then install it). bash < ( curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tyleruploads/mdez/refs/heads/main/setup.sh ) But users can also, sadly, uninstall MDEZ++ with the setup script. That’s not something I like to talk about a lot, even though I coded it."}, {"post_id": 81370, "ts": "2026-10-21T00:50:56Z", "hours": 3.1361, "text": "Many big changes have recently been added to MDEZ++. Firstly, fun facts have been added. They are shown to the user right after the program is initialized, and they may also be triggered from the Help menu. Secondly, a Format menu has been added, which allows users who do not know Markdown syntax to still benefit from a Markdown editor (and eventually learn Markdown if they stare at the syntax for long enough). Support for images with src’s as a link has also been added by making a subclass of the QTextBrowser Class, named MdezDocBrowser. A settings menu has also been added. The settings menu contains the interval between each autosave (a newly added feature!), line ending format (CRLF vs. LF), editor line wrapping mode, and whether fun facts should be shown on app initialization. Code snippet blocks have had their background color changed, so you can differentiate them from the white background of the MdezDocBrowser (a subclass of QTextBrowser). Finally, some errors were resolved in the WebAssembly (WASM) export."}, {"post_id": 81315, "ts": "2026-10-20T19:51:13Z", "hours": 3.8092, "text": "I just made some major changes to MDEZ++ The most major change is obviously the additions of a settings menu. While making this settings menu, I also implemented autosave and end-of-line character replacement. The options in the settings menu are the amount of seconds between each autosave, the end of line character type, if line wrapping should be used in the editor, and if fun facts should be shown after application initialization. These settings automatically save between application instances with the help of Qt’s QSettings class. I also added the fun facts mentioned in the settings menu. The fun facts are related to MDEZ++, and can be shown to the user right after application initialization or through the new button in the Help menu. Finally, I made some changes to polish the functionality in the WASM export."}, {"post_id": 80762, "ts": "2026-10-18T18:30:01Z", "hours": 6.3258, "text": "I can not believe how many features I have added in these six hours! These have been the six most productive hours in my entire life! First of all, MDEZ++ got an icon! I made it in Inkscape! It features “M+” with a little down arrow to the right of the plus sign as a nod to the original Markdown logo. WebAssembly (WASM) support has been added! Now, you can try out MDEZ++ at https://tyleruploads.github.io/mdez/ ! Now, the actions workflow definitely takes longer to run. But it is definitely worth it! This has to be the biggest change here! MDEZ++ now supports every single text-based file format!! This means you could edit normal text files, edit code, write JSON, etc in MDEZ++! It also supports HTML now, which is rendered just like Markdown. This took a lot of code to achieve, because I wouldn’t want to try to render something that can’t be rendered! And the edge cases for this are infinite. I changed the version of Ubuntu used to compile the AppImage from the latest version to version 22.04. You might ask why that is so important. That one change made my project elgible to be at on the appimage.github.io repository ! It is a crowd-sourced directory of available, tested AppImages with data that 3rd-party app stores and software centers can use. Given a URL to an AppImage, it inspects the AppImage and puts it into a community-maintained catalog. I made certain status messages be shown in the status bar at the bottom, including confirmations that the current document has been saved. This makes it so the user doesn’t need to be worried when they click the save button, because they see it was actually savedsaved! I also made it show more errors to the user, so they know what actually goes wrong! For example, instead of just silently returning the open file function whenever they upload a file in an incorrect format, it shows them why the file can’t be uploaded! The split-pane layout now is resizable! I have tried to do this in the past, but faced ridiculous styling issues that made me not pursue it earlier! It made there be a bunch of completely ridiculous padding around the entire application! Fun facts have also been added to MDEZ++! They are shown whenever you open the app. You can also manually trigger the fun facts by clicking their associated action in the help menu."}, {"post_id": 80003, "ts": "2026-10-15T21:28:15Z", "hours": 1.5539, "text": "I just added some nice features to MDEZ++! Devlog Title: MDEZ++ by @tyleruploads | Stardance
Devlogs:
This is my first devlog for MDEZ++! MDEZ++ is a lightweight Markdown editor written in C++, while using the Qt Graphical Framework. This project has already thrown me right back into C++ again, like I was some time ago. Some features I plan to add in the future include saving to and opening files, GitHub GFM Markdown support (right now it is slightly more basic in terms of styling), and much more.
I just made the GitHub Actions workflow for MDEZ++! The workflow does 3 things that seem very simple. Here they are: Make the Linux binary Make the Windows binary Publish to GitHub releases It seems easy, right? While it really is NOT! I encountered so many numerous errors doing this! That is because what I am doing sits right at the intersection of many different extremely hard things to do, whether it be caused by the extremely large size of the Qt system, dynamic-linking that is unacceptable for users without Qt, and so many more things. The complexity of debugging this was further exacerbated by one mistake I kept making. I was amending to commits instead of making new ones during the most intense phase of debugging, and I was unaware that amending to commits does NOT update the code for GitHub Actions! My actions workflow is literally 105 lines long! 105 is not a mistype and is truly the length of the workflow. You can check it out here . I have like 50 tabs open of the Qt Documentation and am planning some exciting additions to the project!
I just added complete file opening and saving capabilities to MDEZ++! This actually wasn’t that hard of an addition, but it now turns MDEZ++ into a true Markdown editor (if you forget it doesn’t have a logo other than the automatically generated W logo by Qt).
I just added an all-new Help bar to MDEZ++, a lightweight Markdown editor written in C++ with the Qt framework. In the Help bar, the following sections are present: About MDEZ++: Shows an about page for MDEZ++ MDEZ++ License: Shows the full MDEZ++ MIT license Markdown Cheat Sheet: Shows the user a Markdown guide I made Keyboard Combinations: Shows the user keyboard combinations they can use in the app Report Issue: Opens a link for the user to open a GitHub Issue Check for Updates: Brings the user to the most recent GitHub Release
I just made some important changes to MDEZ++! The first of these changes is the most obvious for the user. I created a new status bar at the bottom of the screen! In the bar, it shows the version number, word count, and file path! The next change is that I updated the README file for better SEO. I thought to make this change after I tested searching for my project, and saw it dominates its name in Brave, but loses to a football player named María Méndez Fernández on Google. The final, smallest change, is that I put the README for MDEZ++ on its own GitHub pages site with Jekyll. I I just felt like it. It could also improve search indexing.
I just added some nice features to MDEZ++! These are very important features for a Markdown editor. The first feature, which is very obvious to any user, is the added ability to print the current document. If you are wondering, this is obviously to a physical printer. Not a 3D Printer. (I just had to make sure that distinction was made). The second feature, which is also obvious to any user, is the ability to export the current document to an HTML file, instead of just a Markdown file. I really don’t need to explain this much. The third feature is easier said than done. Previously, blockquotes had no special coloring. This is just because of the way Qt rendered the Markdown to HTML. I in no means have any experience in any sort of regexing. Here is the code I had to add to make this work. QString mdText = editor -> toPlainText (); QTextDocument tempDoc ; tempDoc . setMarkdown ( mdText ); QString rawHtml = tempDoc . toHtml (); QRegularExpression qtBlockquoteRegex ( "<p style= \" margin-top:[^;]+; margin-bottom:[^;]+; margin-left:40px; margin-right:40px; [^ \" ]* \" >(.*?)</p>" ); QString tableReplacement = "<table width= \" 100% \" cellpadding= \" 8 \" style= \" margin: 6px 0px; \" >" "<tr><td bgcolor= \" #f0f0f0 \" style= \" border-left: 4px solid #007acc; \" >" "<span style= \" color: #555555; \" > \\ 1</span>" "</td></tr>" "</table>" ; rawHtml . replace ( qtBlockquoteRegex , tableReplacement );
I can not believe how many features I have added in these six hours! You can also manually trigger the fun facts by clicking their associated action in the help menu.
I just made some major changes to MDEZ++ The most major change is obviously the additions of a settings menu. Finally, I made some changes to polish the functionality in the WASM export.
Many big changes have recently been added to MDEZ++. Finally, some errors were resolved in the WebAssembly (WASM) export.
I can not believe what has happened to MDEZ++ in these last almost 10 hours of development time! That’s not something I like to talk about a lot, even though I coded it....

| | This is my first post on this project , this project is about a feature rich and apple music inspired terminal music player | | . Today i made basic commands like play , delete , random , like .etc . The best part was to create the file handling as i have learned how to handle the .yaml files instead of json files for settings and hardest part was nothing except me trying to use vlc without AI or docs.
Finally made functional and working , have to make it once more took more help from AI i didn’t wanted to but sometimes vlc was giving error and sometimes yt_dlp even though i was following the module guide , i don’t know what was happening. Currently adding the spinners and more things. Features added till now: like music make playlist Fuzzy search or smart search
Tried too much to add cross-fade but the audio just glitches , will be trying more if not possible i will leave this feature and focus on something different. Also added the bash install for different os so it becomes flow play not py main.py play.
Re-started the project and this time adding both offline and online features i.e. yet to implement , i have already made the ping.py file so it can check if host has connections. also some few changes in future :- online playback mode without downloading the song. offline mode. will try to add suggestion by adding &start_radio=1 to get suggestion directly from YouTube
made few things as listed: a progress bar offline download of songs shuffle and repeat songs liked songs and much more adding : offline support like liked songs , album
added readme.md and finished by adding features listed also added install.sh
fixed the error when doing install.sh in windows as the path are not same in linux and windows
Finally after hard work as i have never uploaded anything to Pypi anything before so totally a disaster that includes import error and much more. You can install this package by typing pip install flow-twinx
added alias for commands such as hl for help , pl for play these are default and can be changed later by running short <index> <value> also added more detailed help command that gives user more info , can be run by using help -i or hl -i or as per your alias. Features in new update: suggestion of songs (fetched from youtube) custom themes more option for using tools
uploaded to PyPi with features such as: radio mode which auto suggest songs alias for quick commands major bug fixes
Added many features here are some of them : better radio with play next config feature theme changing better colors.
Published v0.4.0 this version includes Saavan playback also and new commands i.e. : savan : play songs directly( alias: svn ) savan-s : search songs by name ( alias : svn-s )
So i made some new changes like a background player no need to open a terminal just for a music also fixed some major errors like calling fetch when not needed in radio mode.
So this is going crazy like really! What i added today? A bar that reacts to sound. fixed errors in bg mode which triggered the playing of two music at the same time. Also trying to add like 50% added the lyrics with time synced.
So added these bars looks weird i know because i set their width to 3 and spacing : fit that’s why but u can customize it however you want. Also fully added the lyrics , mostly you will see lyrics not found if are listening in other laung then eng because YtLyrics doesn’t have much songs lyrics i guess.
Nothing added just fixed more things and made a new video for upload at github pages. You can see video here it also has audio. added a linux binary at release page and links to my github account in PyPi
0.4.5 So after ~7hr ( some are not recorded which i spent in browser ) I made the UI of the flow in web looking forward for a desktop UI also but later i think. What is New and what is changed Web UI with pixel theme Local support for UI also and liked songs Minor bug fixes
So fixed some major and minor bugs and flaws like user can even download the song in /boot/ also added history and auto-completion , it also now has playlist commands and features with better UI in web mode not too much but still. Also added format option so u can download in whichever format u want. And made this banner
v0.4.7 So i am just kinda dumb i think. I didn’t even commited the changes and lost all the works 🥲 i do managed to re-write the code once again for some parts like DEV MODE and bug fix regarding the playback. So playlist features are on a hold
Finally added playlist it has following commands: playlist ( to list all ) playlist add playlist remove pl.. -d radio -p ( to save as playlist ) also download or -d download radio as a playlist instead of songs in downloads
So trying to make the web version so u know a better docs instead of terminal one with better installation support. Thought of notifying everyone so u can guess what will be the next few develops about.
Added playlist feature and a lot more features like format - opus , mp3 , m4a and webm. Also fixed some bugs regarding downloads and added a check feature to check flow gets all things like vlc , ffmpeg .etc
v0.5.0 So fixed major stuffs mostly like : playlist not created error fixed format in web mode as it downloaded in mp3 fixed another download bug as it downloaded in mp4 , when set to default fixed loop during playback which caused one command execution only and other were not listened And added some more thing: a export feature added better port handling added –port ( ~5 commands ) and –version commands
So fixed a bug where after closing a radio when user searched for other song and then played it continued from last play instead of new one.
So last fix i guess for this ship , it includes changes in dependencies i previously forgot to add toml so it caused error in some OS i think not in my one , so i switched to pyproject.toml i kept that so users can use pip also not only uv.
So yeah still alive after many days cause i thought it needed more work. I made something to help u in KDE and Hyprland by using dbus to expose name and a custom --status command wit img support and all that to provide u with a support for custom modules. The island shown here is my custom build and is not included in the flow project. Also made few more thing in here to help u out and fixed bugs.
v0.5.8 So added a better playlist management system that has support for local songs before it had different playlist logic for different mode , now it shares same logic with also bug fixes and in future updates gonna add island as a way u can do it without any configs also better status.
So added more commands and few mid level bug fixes : added delete command added more flags to control it by using other programs improved the name shorter to include other laung added the m and pick songs in play also thing as shown in video. improved the –status command to show images.
v0.6.0 So , i have added a new selection using arrow keys for config search and play for better navigation also to reduce the typing thing in terminal to change the value. Also replaced the bars for a better looking and customizable bars it includes custom char + 3 modes.
Hey everyone hope ur doing well. Today i think mostly i did was just making it cool and easy to navigate and bug fixes for the most time. Bugs: Ctrl + Q not working in radio mode d not working in new selection mode not showing [Paused] when paused and much more that is too big to explain here and started working on gui mode using PySide6
v0.6.1 Replaced the old UI with new UI , as previous one looked awful for most people i hope this is good. Also added this demo video , i tried to add a more professional one with openscreen but quality issues with the app , so will add later till then this is the demo video.
v0.7.0 So finally made the tui using textual and it looks pretty good i wasn’t expecting much but yeah looks good also there are pretty much 10 themes i guess so enjoy that are given in textual by default. Also changed the structure of the code repo as it was a disaster so now it has /backend /tui and /cli
So mostly made changes to backend and the structure of the project. Changes : migrated from json to sqlite for history and other new features soon added a plugins system with a repo for community plugins separate commands for sperate playform like flow-web for flow
#v0.8.0 Just finished some last parts and added it to ship.
So i have to really fix this bug not too much big but it resulted in multiple vlc instance to start also changed export to export songs instead of a zip file and with custom path can be used by -p PATH or default to Downloads/music .
v0.8.4 Forgot to add the versions from some devlogs. New features : added a full for showcase added a minimal version so ai agents and ssh terminals can work too added a new progress bar and some bug fixes… i tried adding cookies but it works good without cookies also so would add a import option to import external songs. Also i am working on making it play on all platforms including termux of mobile phones.
v0.9.1 So after hours added support for all platforms and made website and hosted it on cloudflare here also i have added a better logs system to tell if anything goes wrong , aslo this time please rate it as much as u could i have spend 100+ hours working on this still i get 200 stardust :(
Ships:
I build a terminal music player that uses vlc and yt_dlp , that has both offline and online support for music you can either play from folders or online. Hardest part to make it run on all os.
Flow version v0.4.0 This version includes Saavan playback , Saavan is a music player with high quality songs. Please do also keep this in mind that Songs on saavan are only playable on saavan commands and there is no radio mode for it. The difficult part about this thing is the API , actually the API is build by me hosted on NEST as a part of SINGULARITY my another project some similar features but more advanced. Do check out that also!
Ship #3 Added many features such as : background playback so you don’t need to open a terminal just for flow. bars for you to enjoy the vibe. lyrics so you can sing along the song it is also time-synced . and much more such as configs customization. How to install : Head to release page for a linux binary or type it in terminal but make sure you have python and vlc installed pip install flow-twinx and then flow
So added few not actually few but many like better ui for web formats using ffmpeg playlist feature bug fixes and much more I want to thank you all for support and hopping to add more features. Also do visit the flow page. Enjoy !
Changes from last ship : new database from json to db ( sqlite ) and new codebase Added TUI and also improved the web mode Added new commands and docs Added plugins system and community plugins Major and minor bug fixes
So after everyone’s request i added support for all platforms , i haven’t tested it on mac (cause i don’t that🙃️) but i have tested on all other platforms and hope that it works on your systems too. Also i have added some new features for u all : a new log for seeing what broke new display i.e. rich that makes it more cool looking new commands and insane customization 😎️...

Hello everyone! I am a bit sad but no worries cause total time in not what is here somehow hacktime didn’t registered that time. What i did today ? Made an api using Nest and fastAPI , you can visit and test the api by going to : teenapi What were the difficulties ? To be honest nothing except deciding to add auth or not , i decided no. API to test api locally type curl https://teenapi.dino.icu/s = <query> OR going to teenapi-test
News : I know that i told i would make a full browser based app but due to youtube being too much restricted to server IP i needed to use proxy and residential IP a bit costly for me but i have a good news — > I have figured out how to play music so it is just music in web and full features available on desktop app. [API repo] : ( https://github.com/Philast-015/Singularity-api-saavan )
As per the plan web version is completed but sadly not all songs are present only songs which are on saavan I am planing to add more things in future but for now it completed will publish it on github , link https://philast-015.github.io/Singularity-Web/
Made many things in this ~1hr as i already had those projects like Wave and flow from which i copied the API and UI so i will work on ui next and also music mode as it is important and new feature. Btw i already added suggestion or auto-play from flow.
major improvement on ui but time was not fully recorded as i tried to code in neovim instead of Zed😭 Okay so new features plan: maybe switch between modern and this ui design making youtube less blocking by telling user to open just a youtube tab , that works because youtube gets cookies some times making it think like some user is sending request OR a cookies based system that auto generates a fake cookies.
Here you go my setup reveled ! Coming to the point here what i have added : improvements in UI by adding blur or say glass effects added more settings options like user can delete data was from starting but this time added the folder path so user get extra privacy type features. fixed some bugs but wasn’t able to fix webview not able to play videos using source so thinking what can i do. fixed auto tag extractor to exclude common things like : “youtube-video” , “music” , “shorts” , “trending” .etc
So this is going too far beyond my initial plan , i planned to keep it like simple but adding more features and more features which are really useful like: terminal search play song without any video probably for those who get distracted i do kept the music+video but also this a separate video player probably for those who want to see just one video , distraction free added api integration so local agents just curl so you can get some video searching using my api also you can use it in some apps no need to create one added background api running so no one terminal reserved for one api just run it and close the terminal , easy! Also another setup ! Enjoy and give feedback please
Devlogs after many days i think 4 cause there was a personal reason but made the following things: fixed the audio bug it played audio still after pausing the video made this logo used in favicon it now has 3 layout for search view , the img is of full view mode
Made this demo video and fixed video mode as it didn’t worked before so yeah it works now also uploaded to PyPi to install it using pip install singularity-twinx . Do check out that also this is i think last devlogs as i am gonna ship this project.
Ships:
Singularity is the one application for youtube and music , it also has some cool features , privacy features and much more just need to explore. So first time , took too long i think but here is the screenshot and I added platforms character moving platforms physics and collisions
So i have added coins pickup and platforms with background it doesn’t look like in the first picture it is godot editor it is shown in second picture.
So trying to add more blocks and add more elements like grass , eggs , ancient blocks , and much more in Aseprite tried to use pixelorama from Godot but it doesn’t support hackatime i guess from docs of hackatime.
So made a trader that takes 10 coins and give some stuffs i haven’t decided what but i think movement speed maybe. Also added coins to be random so user gets different coin values each time....
