Ok. Bare minimum achieved. After logging this and shipping, I can abandon HTML and CSS and use Flet, so lemme do that.
So, I switched the entire website to Flet, my favorite Python framework, so yay! My previous ship was really underwhelming, but now I’m going to make it something to be proud of.
I finally, finally finished it! Now deployed to GitHub Pages, made in Flet, and looks a lot cooler than whatever the heck I had going on earlier, ’cause I had weird issues with the Personal Site mission. After detaching from the mission, I had freedom to use a Python framework. Voila!
Return to HTML! Flet is great for mobile apps, but the web apps kept crashing, so I sucked it up and took the index.html file generated by Flet and changed it so it works on it’s own.
Added my new site, Bookabase to the Projects tab!
Ships:
Complete. Thank you for being here!
Same as what I just devlogged, I finished the site, it looks polished now instead of the messing around I had to do earlier for the mission, now detached. Will add Blog and more soon!...

Devlogs:
Implemented basic functionality (no gui so i just screenshotted the code)
Added subcommands
Added backwards movement with “..”, fixed the init so you can just add ‘eval “$(jcd init)”’ to .zshrc or .bashrc
Add little functions like absolute paths, “-” to go to previous directory, a help message, …
Added a custom alias and a custom back string so you can enter “,” for example to go one directory up instead of “..”
Added a custom matching strictness config option for people who make a lot of typos, readme overhaul
I added support for symlinks that point to directories and updated compatibility so jcd now works with filesystems that don’t support d_type (like XFS) by using c stat as a fallback
The project was kinda messy, so I solved it. I removed a segfault when trying to navigate empty directories, made the error message have cleaner paths when the directory was not found, added malloc checking and clarified an error message further.

Long story short before it compiles it check to see if what you’re doing is legal, and for that it has to read the actual source code. When you package a project with something like PyInstaller, the source code gets lost which breaks Taichi. The current system works with a fixed number of species , each with a unique genome. A genome is made of 3 traits (0 to 1) and 3 receptors (-1 to 1) and each receptor interacts with it’s respective trait on a neighbouring particle. The benefits of this are that information is no longer being sent between the CPU and GPU, significantly increasing speed. Also, the rendering itself is parallelized, making it even faster. Devlog 0 - Primordial Soup I started making my Particle Life simulation. I got the basic features working, but it’s very unoptimised. Every particle checks every other particle every frame, and it’s all done using the CPU. I’ll elaborate more on how I’m going to solve this in the future. For anyone who doesn’t know, Particle Life works by simulating attraction and repulsion forces between different kinds of particles. For example, here you can see that blue is attracted to itself, causing it to form big clumps. The two things I plan on doing next are optimisation, and customisation. I’m not sure which will come first, but hopefully by the time I finish I’ll know how I want to implement the evolution
Devlog 1 - Cells Quick update to my Particle Life project. I did some work to stabilise the physics, there were a lot of small mistakes in the code that added up to very erratic behaviours. For example, the repulsion force that’s supposed to stop the particles from overlapping too much was partially inverted and actually made things worse. I’m starting to get better results now but it’ sstill not perfect. I also added a little grid to visualise the relationships between different ‘species’. Long story short before it compiles it check to see if what you’re doing is legal, and for that it has to read the actual source code. When you package a project with something like PyInstaller, the source code gets lost which breaks Taichi. The fix for this was to include a copy of the physics code in plaintext within the executable, so Taichi had something to look at. Shout out to Claude for helping me fix that, I probably never would have figured that out on my own. Anyway that’s it
Ships:
Project is available for download on Windows and Linux I made a particle simulator with genomes. Inspired by Particle Life, the particles interact with each other through attraction and repulsion which when millions of times across thousands of particles creates really cool patterns. The particles also have DNA as explained in the README This was a lot of fun, I find emergent behaviours really cool, and even though I wasn’t able to accomplish everything I wanted to do I’m still happy with how it turned out. I also learned a lot about how GPUs work which is becoming very relevant very fast. This might be my last Stardance project so I just want to say thank you to all the Hack Club staff for running this, and all the other Stardancers for making it what it is. I had a great summer and I hope you all did too :>...

Devlogs:
Today I started working on my Web OS project. So far, I have spent 26 minutes on it. In this session, I mainly focused on the basic building stage of the project.I began by setting up the main structure of the Web OS and planning how the interface will be organized. I worked on the basic layout and started building the foundation that the rest of the system will be added onto later. At this stage, the work was mostly focused on starting the project, organizing the code, and building the basic framework rather than adding advanced features. This was an important first step because it helped create a starting point for future development and gave me a clearer idea of how I want the Web OS to look and function.
In this update, I successfully built and integrated two major system utilities into the core desktop environment: a Settings application and a Calendar . The Settings app introduces real time workspace customization by implementing an input interface that captures image link addresses and immediately binds them to the document body’s style property, allowing users to switch out the global background wallpaper instantly. Alongside this, I added a calendar component.
I expanded the WebOS environment by developing two primary user application layers: an optimized Images explorer and a data-handling Notes . The Images app introduces a gallery layout displaying wildlife and animal photo within a grid component framework. Both components integrate with the global window architecture, maintaining active content inputs without losing interface synchronization.
To make the environment feel like a functional desktop rather than just a stylized landing page, I built two new core applications into the system dock: a working Calculator utility and a dedicated “About Me” panel. For the calculator, instead of relying on basic, insecure evaluation tools, I structured an inline string compiler using strict execution rules to handle chained arithmetic expressions smoothly, mapping the interface out onto a clean button matrix. Alongside it, the “About Me” window serves as the primary personalization node for the OS, using custom CSS flex badges to cleanly highlight my background. Everything is feeling incredibly cohesive now.
finally completed the project!!
working on css!
more progress :)

I built WebOS, a browser-based desktop simulation featuring draggable windows, a live calendar, a notes editor, a calculator, and a dynamic wallpaper settings app. The biggest hurdle was engineering the window and keeping the midnight calendar updates lightweight, but I’m proud of how the system mimics a native desktop experience. To test it, click the dock or desktop icons to launch applications, drag the windows by their headers, and try pasting a web image link into the settings app to change the wallpaper on the fly....

Finished the welcome screen and desktop UI for Yatri OS. Now it’s ready to ship!
Made the Welcome Screen of the WEB-OS with a dedicated “Launch” button to start the OS. It’s not that good, but I am constantly learning and trying to make it wonderful.
Added a New App, “About Me”. Which let you know who I am. A simple introduction about me. And a simple feature that lets you close the window when the “Escape” key is pressed. Please give me some feedback so I can improve.
I added Live-news fetch to my Start app. Instead of one hard-coded article, my Start app now pulls 10 real, current space news articles from a free API (Spaceflight News API) every time it opens. And we can now like and comment on our favourite post.
I made a custom ‘Settings’ app for my WEB OS-2 with a Space theme. I added multiple features, like different wallpapers, accent colors, sound, window transparency, and brightness. I completely changed my theme from WEB OS-1. I hope you guys like my project. Feel free to give feedback! I would love that. POS: I WASTED NEARLY an hour finding an error which was (;).
WEB OS-2 UPDATE: I added a little analog clock at the top left of the screen. The orbiting circle was a headache for me. I did a ton of research, and I finally added this according to my theme. It looks cool. I love it. I completely reformed the top bar of the OS and made a new one that aligns with my theme. I hope you like it. REMEMBER TO DROP FEEDBACK!
DEVLOG-7 I added another functionality app to my WebOS. Calculator app was one of the toughest things I worked on. The code behind the JS for the CALC app was so confusing for me. And after a lot of trial and error, it finally worked. I matched it with my theme! POS: I renamed my settings app to ‘DECK’ to align with my theme.
DEVLOG-8 I added a cute-looking little ‘Alien Buddy’ which hover everywhere my mouse move. That’s it for devlog 8. It looks so cute. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK.
DEVLOG-9 After multiple failures, trials, and errors. I have finally added the animation for the ‘Welcome Screen.’ TBH, it was the most difficult task I’ve worked on. And now it is looking fine. POS: I also added sound while the animation is happening.

I started researching/designing a custom flight controller! I began by choosing an IMU for it. I was initially going to use an MPU-6500, but learned it was trash for drones. I eventually settled on the BMI270 since it was relatively cheap but still powerful. Another benefit of that chip was that it could be hooked up to a magnetometer, so I looked into the BMM150, which was recommended. I also wasted my time with another random magnetometer that I keep forgetting the name of. Anyway I added those to the schematic, which wasn’t too bad. I’m pretty new to KiCad so I needed to figure out how to import symbols into it. I discovered the lifesaver known as the componentsearchengine, which is an extensive database of symbols that KiCad or other cad programs may not have. I also chose a microcontroller for the FC. I wanted to use an ESP32 chip since I’m most familiar with them, and ended up choosing an ESP32-S3 Wroom 1 (mostly arbitrarily)
I made some more progress on the flight controller. I may have forgotten some of what I did since the lapse was recorded like a day ago, but I added some connectors to the four escs, and connected most things to the main microcontroller.
I took on a little sidequest from working on the schematic of the flight controller. I plan to use a set of nrf24l01’s as the radio, since I already have them. Therefore, I wanted to test them before putting it on the schematic. I hooked one up to a brand new esp32-s3, and the other to an esp32-wroom1. The process of sending data between each one was relatively straightforward, thanks to a helpful instructable I found. However, I did get some issues with the default SPI pins with the s3, but that got sorted out after some pin switching. Eventually I got the two devices to remotely talk to each other and was overjoyed. Also somewhere in between all of that, I realized I ran out of male to female jumper wires so that sucks :(
I hate working on the flight controller so I decided to work on something else instead. This is supposed to be a webpage that tests drone sensors where you can see the drone’s orientation in real time. I’ve been dying to try out the web serial api for a while now, but I never got to it. Fortunately, I finally got to use it to receive data from the microcontroller. I managed to make the webpage receive serial data from the receiver that I built in the last devlog.
I finished the schematic. I still have some warnings to fix, but I’ve reviewed the connections, and they seem correct. The current schematic has: An ESP32-S3 An IMU, which is the BMI270 + BMM150 Connectors for the ESC signals Extra GPIOs that are broken out A USB-C port A BMP338 barometer Some connectors for attaching the RF24s I have A connector for measuring battery voltage An LED :)
I assigned some footprints Not many interesting things happened, just mostly browsing LCSC and JLCPCB’s parts. I also spent some effort figuring out how to import footprints from componentsearchengine
I started working on component placements of the PCB. It was harder than I thought it would be. Firstly, I had over-estimated the size of flight controllers in general, so I had less space to work with as anticipated. Secondly, I forgot to add some decoupling capacitors in the schematic, so after doing so, I had much more components to wire. Thirdly, the connectors were bigger than I thought, especially the ones for the radio module I plan to attach to it. I’m still deciding some things, such as how big I want the board to be, (I’m thinking somewhere around 50x50mm, excluding the protruding antenna and usb port) and whether the PCB will be a 2 or 4 layer pcb.
Before continuing with the PCB, I wanted to do a quick and stress free session where I tested firmware that would make the motors run. Safe to say, it was not quick and stress free. I initially tested the servo code on a mini mg90 servo since it was safer than testing with the esc which is powered by a big scary LiPo battery. I wasted 45 minutes with the firmware only to learn that the battery pack I used was drained. (All 4 AA batteries fell to 0.9v…) Then I managed to get the espservo library to work, but for some reason it kept crashing the entire code whenever I tried using pinMode(). Overall I learned: ESCs aren’t as dumb as I thought they were ledc api exists I still hate programming
I did more component placing. I think it’s almost ready to route, but I want to make sure I didn’t make any mistakes, namely using a forbidden pin. I also did some component testing with the parts I already have, such as seeing if multiple motors could run at once, while the radio was transmitting, etc.
Routed (most of) the Flight Controller. It may not look like much, but it was a lot of suffering. To start off, the magnetometer I’m using has the most annoying package I’ve encountered yet. There are pins buried deep inside the center of it, and I had to adjust trace and via sizes to accommodate for them. I ended up using the absolute minimum sizes that JLCPCB has to offer. I’m finalizing the flight controller This means that I had to do a lot of double checking and random tweaks. I didn’t record it since I wasn’t very productive and essentially wasted an entire day half doom scrolling I did other miscellaneous things. Added a silkscreen Assembled part of the frame that arrived Wrote a BOM and tweaked stuff to appease JLCPCB
i did a high risk high reward type thing I paid 6 billion dollars to JLC for the flight controller, not even being fully sure if the flight controller would work. It arrived a week ago but I was dying at outpost so I haven’t tested until yesterday. I confirmed that the radio, imu, and motor pins work which are basically the most important parts of the FC
I modded my radio transmitter so it works with the current flight controller I also did some radio testing. I also tried playing around with FreeRTOS but I’m too dumb so I gave up Edit: Forgot to mention I created a holder for the flight controller
Learned threejs so that I could render a cube in the browser that rotates based on the flight controller’s orientation. While doing that, I got distracted and started playing the threejs port of doom for a bit. Anyway, it works really well Also, I suck at math This is a problem because I’m trying to write drone firmware from scratch. Fortunately, there are some pretty good guides out there like the one from Carbon Aeronautics. This session was mostly me trying to learn the math used to measure angles from the accelerometer and gyro. I get some of it, such as the basic trig stuff and integrating the gyro’s readings. But mark my words, I WILL learn linear algebra and will understand it one day, maybe also what does stardance mean by “please write this yourself, humans can read it!,” right after I pasted in an IMAGE??
made a custom quadcopter model in blender and added it to the web viewer!!
Added a calibration mode for easy esc tweaking, and the motor now uses 250hz I needed an input of some sort for calibrating, so I used the battery voltage pin as a temporary solution.
Cadded a battery compartment in Autodesk Fusion
I was mostly working on code (its going horribly), but I soldered the battery connector along with a voltage measurement wire.
Got a battery monitor working (it disarms the drone when the 3s lipo reaches 10v or below)...

It auto-deploys to GitHub Pages on every push via GitHub Actions, with the API key injected as a secret so it never appears in public code. What was challenging? The Vite demo assets weren’t at the paths the tutorial listed, so I had to find the real locations before anything else. Layout jumps: the first render dumped a full-size image; a forced 4:3 aspect-ratio cropped images and letterboxed videos. The fix (placeholder swap on onload, natural ratios with vh/vw caps) took the most iteration. YouTube links silently break a tag — caught that and switched to iframes with a watch?v= → embed/ conversion. Blank deployed page: forgetting base: ‘/nasa-apod/’ and setting Pages to the wrong source produced 404s that took a full deploy cycle each to diagnose. What are you proud of? The placeholder → aspect-ratio snap: it’s the clean part where the CSS state and JS loading timing combine so the page never jumps or shows a broken frame. Also the error path — response.ok checks surface NASA’s real messages instead of failing silently — and that the whole thing (build, tests via curl, deploy) is verifiable end-to-end. How to test it: Live site: https://himanshu-2010.github.io/nasa-apod/ — no setup needed; it loads today’s image on open. Use the date picker at the top: try 1995-06-16 (the first APOD ever) to confirm past dates, or a known YouTube day like 2019-07-04 to see the iframe branch. Resize/responsive: shrink the window — the strips disappear under 600px and the media box tracks the viewport. Error path: pick a date before 1995-06-16 (the picker’s min blocks it, but hitting the API out of range proves the .catch shows NASA’s message). It was rlly a great thing ive made along with the help of ai for some parts like the background and bugs to fix. Ive also added a new color picker for your background. I felt like brown shldnt be the main one, so il leave the choice to u to choose what colour background u rlly like. I have worked on something quite impressive but wierd to think of what its doing in such a project. what i have made , ive used AI - claude to make a rlly interesting thing Its called the fidget zone. The fidget zone is not something i really thought of at first because its a study site. But i realised maybe why not add it, some might have fun with it and so i have got it in my project. Try it out hereeee:- https://urstudybuddy.vercel.app/ For this fidget zone i used AI to get over with some bugs and sounds which worked quite well and its w!! I have also improved other things like the:- Auto save feature, create an account using ur email or username, get yourself logged in and work with anything like notes. If you leave, it gets saved and u can come back anytime for it in ur digital folder. I am still working on it for the timetable because it quite difficult to get over with it. And check out my project and try out anything u like, im also taking in comments and ratings from slack so i can improve it to make it ideal for all So see yall for the next devloggg!!"}, {"post_id": 64150, "ts": "2026-09-08T11:05:53Z", "hours": 1.5575, "text": "UrStudyBuddy Devlog 14 - Sign in and Login page first lookss!! !! The project has finally got its sign up/ log in page. It took quite sometime and finally got the hold of it. Along with the sign up page i have added a lil cloud above the page where it reacts to whatever you type or do. Move your cursor around and see its eyes moving . And it goes red when you type a wrong password or the email is wrong. Signing up lets you save your tasks and notes incase you missed them (im still working on tis part). I have commited to github quite a lot this devlog. I have also come across many bugs especially with the database, a huge story that ruined the sign up page, but now its fine. So what was the bug about ❓ Im writing this because i believe it could be common problem for many people (and i hope it solves yours if you have a similar problem too- When creating a login and signup page, there should be a database created in your source of deployement, i use vercel. There was a major problem with creating accounts when trying the project out. The database (Upstash Redis) was connected to the project, but only for the “live” version — not for testing on my own laptop. So locally, my code was trying to communicate to a database it couldn’t actually find. Tis problem was found by checking vercel dev on my vs code terminal and it couldnt find database connections. So what did i do? - copied the actual API token and url values straight from Vercel’s Environment Variables page and pasted them into local .env. I have also committed this to github - Commit d53f1a0 (it can make it much easier) There might be still some problems so this feature wont be working right now (some will tho). So feel free to comment if you come across any bugs when tryin out tis project . And thats all for today, the next devlog i will surely bring in - Login page working Study room Better AI Model for making notes And more fun ideas So thats all, see you next devlogg"}, {"post_id": 60206, "ts": "2026-09-02T13:08:20Z", "hours": 2.1994, "text": "UrStudyBuddy Devlog 13 - Login page and more This devlog is about 2 hours but i have come back to this project after a very long timee. So i have decided to come back with some really good news - Login page has come into production and will soon begin the next devlog!!! I have acknowledged some reviews after proposing this project on slack and i have decided to fix the minor bugs and add some stuff. The project seems to be a lil boring with same color so the background so i will make the background customizable and changable (but the current theme will be set default unless you change it) What i have done so far I have started working on the login page (some buttons wont work for now) Created two new js files under API file for login page so the accounts are stored in the database Planned on the study room (its gonna look really great) So check out my github for the code source and feel free to add any idea or bugs u find in the comments. Devlogs:
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 1 - Whats tis about? This is UrStudyBuddy. I made this project cuz i thought it would be useful for some people or more. So i have decided to add some features which will help. Here u can make ur own timetable, add ur homework and list it all, and more ideas to be added. So for now, i have made the starting screen and i am planning to completly run this project on vercel. I used npm create vite@latest and added the required files as shown on the image like the assets and all and this is what i have done so far. I am yet to make a good UI which will take loads of time and adding some things which im yet to learn about.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 2 - More HTML & dashboard updates So for about an hour and 15 min, i have added more html for different tasks in UrStudyBuddy so i dont put everything in the same html, and is quite easier for me aswll. So the below pic is right now the current version of UrStudyBuddy (im tryna find a new name instead of Dashboard). As said in the below devlog i will be adding loads of features to make this one of the useful websites for studying. I will soon choose a new color and create new things within the dashboard. So the below pic is right now the current version of UrStudyBuddy (im tryna find a new name instead of Dashboard). As said in the below devlog i will be adding loads of features to make this one of the useful websites for studying. I will soon choose a new color and create new things within the dashboard.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 3 - Homework HTML & stopwatch feature In this devlog i have worked a lot in javascript and started working on the html and a bit of css. There were loads of bugs with the main.js file and it took me like 10 to 15 minutes to get over it. I also made several github commits on the page. I have made the homework html and worked on the stopwatch feature (which shows time u have taken doing a hw) which was kinda complicated but easy to deal it. So within the next devlog i will try to somewhat make the timetable page better with features u can use. Later on the timetable will have the best features to customize it however you want and will make the download button after some time.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 4 - File arrangement & name input I had loads on problem about the files arrangement . They were duplicated and had errors and github commits were not kinda workin…so it took a long time to fix that aswll. So now github wont be updated with the current files and will soon make new commits. This pic below is the name input section where u gonna basically put ur name any way u like to and will be used throughout ur session. If web page is closed and reopened it wont most likely to safe ur name and i will be working on it towards the end of the update.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 5 - Combined HTML files & new features I have taken about 1 hour to update my main.js because there were new changes i want to make to my file. So first of all, it started with 4-5 html files each with different features and now i have combined them and commited to github repo. I have made about 2-3 github commits today. Now this project can store your name and save it in your browser and works everytime u comeback to login, and i have changed some behaviours of some buttons in this project. The picture below is the newly updated html file, its basically all 4 html files into one and it really didnt take that much time, even tho there were some bugs but easy to fix. Here is the code that is included in my project files - @keyframes slideUp { from { transform : translateY ( 20px ); opacity : 0 ; } to { transform : translateY ( 0 ); opacity : 1 ; } } Finally, i have decided to come up with fun features and dont wanna make this project rlly boring. Thats all i have done within 1 hour.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 6 - New settings, upper dock & digital clock This past hour i have worked on many ideas, i had to research a lot about downloading and stuff in js (i havent started and its gonna be lots of work inlcuding the ai generated notes). I have created a new setting and an upper dock in this project. It lets you use dark mode. Im gonna be setting the full project theme in purple for now and then change many things, the color theme isnt finalised yet and im deciding to make it light brown themed. I havent come across any bugs right now, the project is being functional and working well! For the above bar (dock) i have made buttons which are not functional yet but im going to add many things which will be useful. I have also made a digital clock for the website. 3-5 commits from the past 1 hr and 13 mins. Thats all for tdy!
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 7 - CSS rework & debugging It took loads of time in debugging, havent checked the output yet, and didnt code much but i did commit some commits in github this time. To be honest, within 2 hours i spent like an hour in css and the rest in debugging cuz i culdnt link java and css within the html as usual due to some bugs and kept switching browsers, and had an event recently so culdnt work much or wuldve gotten like 4-5 hrs this devlog. So pretty much what ive worked on this project is that i reworked my full css code cuz there were load of ideas in my mind and making some UI for the buttons to make it look cool for the website. Nothing much other than debugging for mins. Thats all for this devlog.
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 8 - Darkmode toggle and dock update and new stuff!! So for this update i have gotten the dark mode working, quite a miracle after spending sometime fighting bugs. The dark mode had issues until i recoded and finally it works. Check the below screenshot - its the dark mode for now. I really cant decide which color i shuld set for the website. I have worked on the dock as well as you can see in the screenshot below. I will soon update the dock styling and add extra buttons to it. I am planning to add extra stuff to the project to make it really awesome : - Login Streak Login feature (excluding sign in using google for now) Preview of what you have done so far Motivational quotes every 10 min Lofi music for studying Im planning more stuff to be added to this project. So stay tunned for more! Thats all for tdy
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 9 - CSS/JS reworks and new features This time i have got some really great ideas to make this project look really attractive and cool, so i have taken some time to research rlly good fonts for a website and i have gotten it here as seen in the screenshot. I have used ‘AI for some bit of js’ to help me with the study streak cuz it was confusing, came over minor bugs and have commited to github quite a lot tis time ( i had an issue with this aswll (took me 10-15 min to push a commit). I have decided to use the theme of the project color to orange & brown, its a rlly good combination and hope to use it pretty well. I also have come up with some lofi music yt links so it can be changed in a section which will be added soon!! (feel free to send ur fav lofi music in the comment section if you want to). I have also changed some of the fonts to cursive as you can see and it has alrdy become on of my favourite parts of this project journey so far and i cant wait to use it more ! I have added features like the tasks preview, study streak (functional right now) and the number of hours everyone has spent in this website, will work on minutes being shown in this part aswell. I will soon be comin up with more stuff like - background changable virtual study room study methods like pomodoro timer etc And yep, thats all within tis update for now, now ima make it better and better !!!
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 10 - File debugging and AI notes For this devlog, i havent spent much time coding, tbh i spent debugging on git push errors again, and had some duplicated files which later was solved . I dont have things to talk about much this devlog but i have found some good lofi music which seems to be pretty good and more, im gonna put it in the virtual study room (which im planning to make it pixelated and its kinda short but so cool). This idea is just a rough concept but if i do have the time i can lock in and make it look insane, but il try my best to make a rlly good virtual study room. As you can see in the picture, it took loads of time for figuring out the duped files and now its clean and tidy. This is the current Upload your notes sector of the project. In this part, u can choose you u would like your notes to be, here is the code : - <select id="noteStyle"> <option value="bullet">Bullet points</option> <option value="paragraph">Flowing paragraphs</option> <option value="flashcard">Flashcard style</option> <option value="cornell">Cornell notes (Cue+Summary)</option> </select> <select id="detailLevel"> <option value="concise">Concise summary</option> <option value="detailed">Detailed explanation</option> <option value="eli5">Explain like I'm new to this.</option> </select> <select id="tone"> <option value="simple">Simple, Everyday Language</option> <option value="exam">Exam focused, Academic tone</option> </select> These r the features that lets u customize how u want ur notes and u can send these notes to any gmail or email soon! And yep thats all for this devlog, will come back for more!!!
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 11 - Now runs on vercel Now it can finally run on vercel, and right now the project is quite ready to use but not all features yet but this devlog will be the last one before the 1st ship of this project and im proud of it. And i got the gemini workin on my project’s AI notes section, but there is a problem and i will fix it within the next ship. I got some help from claude and have commited to github too. Every 10 min you will get a motivational quote and i think it was fun getting the ideas too! Nothing much this devlog, i have around 29 github commits now (i dunno if its great or not, tried my best). And this time i added a new focus timer pomodoro - as said in the previous devlogs. I am also working with the UI and the fonts to make it way better. And thats all for this devlog, and will soon ship it tommorow!!!🚢 !! ig i shipped it early
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 12 - Color theme update and dashboard stuff!! Nothing much this update, but after long 14-15 hrs i have finally changed the theme of the project, its brown and its awesomeee to me!! As you can see the below screenshot, its the dark mode and i feel its great, I have also edited the buttons to have a 3D effect cuz i like these type of buttons and i have used it in other projects of mine aswll. I also have created a ripple effect on the dashboard page which u can try out, its jst rough for now and doesnt seem good but by next 2-3 devlogs it will evolve So whats next ? Background/theme switching Login streaks tied to real accounts Real account login, multi-device Real transactional email (To send AI Notes) And that’s all for this devlog!!
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 13 - Login page and more This devlog is about 2 hours but i have come back to this project after a very long timee. And thats all for todayy
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 14 - Sign in and Login page first lookss!! And thats all for today, the next devlog i will surely bring in - Login page working Study room Better AI Model for making notes And more fun ideas So thats all, see you next devlogg
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 15 - The neww zoneeeee! !! 4 hrs and 25 min is a bit too long so lets say it was 3 hrs and 45 min mostly spent after the 14th devlog. And check out my project and try out anything u like, im also taking in comments and ratings from slack so i can improve it to make it ideal for all So see yall for the next devloggg!!
UrStudyBuddy Devlog 16 - Before the second shipp So this 16th devlog will be the last devlog before the second ship, or mostly my last ship before this project ends cuz i might get a lil busy. So i have finally added the best part of the urstudybuddy and infact the most useful resource out of the rest in the project - The Study Room . It was rlly a great thing ive made along with the help of ai for some parts like the background and bugs to fix. Ive also added a new color picker for your background. I felt like brown shldnt be the main one, so il leave the choice to u to choose what colour background u rlly like. Explore my project to try my other colourss too!! 🎨 So what is new this update New color picker for your background Study room In the study room u can choose background, 4 lofis and focus with the pomodoro timer And yep pretty short but this is all for this devlogg and ima shipp the very next second i upload all the 4 lofis into my folder
jst need to be edited again after sometime, cuz i mistakenly posted it
Ships:
UrStudyBuddy Ship - The first version FINALLY it works, UrStudyBuddy has reached a good stage and is now gonna be prepared for a way better version by me soooon! I have added my pomodoro timer, the generating notes work - i used gemini for this one ( in the sense of api key ) and when uploading ur pdf, make sure it is typed text and not pictures or any unclear sources ur uploading. What it does Upload notes — upload a PDF, pick a style (bullet points, flashcards, Cornell notes, whatever fits how you study), and AI generates genuinely new notes plus a 5-question quiz from it. Homework list — add tasks, tick them off, see your progress right on the dashboard. Timetable — a full weekly grid, click any cell and just type into it. Stopwatch + Pomodoro timer — track a study session, or use the Work/Break Pomodoro cycle. Dashboard that actually shows something — today’s homework preview, your study streak, and how many hours people around the world have studied on the app. Dark mode , because obviously. Im pretty proud of spending loads of time on this project and im yet to make it wayyy better. Hope you like it, and thats all for this ship!
UrStudyBuddy - The Second Ship Im rlly proud to see i have made tis project and when through loads of fixes (even during my examss) and i hope ul try it and to yall whoever is trying tis project a huge thank youu. AI Notes – Upload a PDF and use AI to turn it into useful study notes. AI Quiz Generator – Automatically generate quizzes based on your uploaded notes. Saved Notes – Save your generated notes and come back to them later. Email Notes – Send your notes directly to your email. Weekly Timetable – Plan and organise your schedule from Monday to Sunday. Download Timetable – Download your timetable to use outside the website. Homework Tracker – Add homework and keep track of what you need to finish. Pomodoro Timer – Use focus sessions to help you stay on task while studying. Study Room – A dedicated space made for focused studying. Lofi Music Player – Listen to background music while you study. Study Scenes – Change the atmosphere of your study room. Fidget Zone – Take a quick break from studying with some simple interactive activities. Dark Mode – Switch to a darker theme for studying at night. Accounts – Sign up and log in to keep your study stuff together. Study Streaks – Keep track of how consistently you’ve been studying. Study Stats – See your study progress over time. These are all that has happened for this ship and will soon try to make a v2 of UrStudyBuddy, and thats all, try the project to see the other features not listed here....

Devlogs Title: mbpk by @ArslaanPathan | Stardance
Devlogs:
I wrote out the full spec for my package manager written in C89, mbpk (Minimal Binary Package Kit), and got it to load the repository config INI file! You heard that right, C89, because booleans are bloat. C89 is based and you cannot deny
I got libmbpk to use libcurl and fetch the repository INI file into a buffer!
Fixed a buffer overflow issue where I was writing 9 extra bytes outside of my allocated memory Also got a basic strerr function working for libmbpk
I got it to save the repository metadata to a file and parse it!
I finished off the final part of mbpk_update_repositories !!!!! It finally fetches the repository metadata, parses out the packages, and fetches them all independently!
I am back and I need a package manager for Yerba Linux before Stardance ends on SEPTEMBER 30TH. Focus is shifting probably Goal: get this PM to work by the end of this day Instead of being independent I might just make it depend on existing repos and install rootlessly to ~/.local/mbpk It could probably just leech off of APK or RPM This is either going to be a bash script or like 500-1000 lines of C because I need something functional Let’s see what happens! Hopefully this goes well inshallah (No relevant screenshot for this so here’s an ls right now)
I got it to initialise xbps! Oh and there’s a working Makefile too which is nice
got it to sync repos!
almost got it to install a package! gonna stop here and head to sleep soon and finish this off tomorrow inshallah goal was to get this working by today but thats ok i dont think it should be too hard to finish the rest ia gn all ^_^...

08.16 - my first devlog. I am having some trouble with the codespace so I plan to deploy properly to the page at the end.
I’m almost done with the website! I just need to deploy it
Added more to the readme, made minor formatting changes and added an image. github is giving me a unicorn error so I’m taking a break. this is what part of it looks like.
Done! It’s currently very simple, but I hope to use this as the basis for a proper website/portfolio soon!

Devlog 1: So I reverse engineered the protocol hak5 uses for SharkLink using one SharkJack Display and my PC with Wireshark for package inspection. I first needed to implement the device discovery which is a broadcast UDP package which in plan text says <PIN> <Sender_Ip>\n so for example 1-3-3-7 192.168.178.1\n Then I reverse engineered the ping messages which are a direct connection with first PING <Sender_IP>\n and then the response which is ACK <Sender_IP>\n . Nextup: Reimplement the program in rust and after that create a tui.
Devlog 2: I started reimplementing everything in rust. Already have the discovery broadcast and listener working. So the only things missing are the direct connection check from the program site and a better looking interface like a tui.
Devlog 3: Got everything working in Rust. Now the direct connection check works in both directions. Next up: Optimizing TUI CLI
Devlog 4: (Now with logging) What change Rewrote a lot of the logic making it safer Added a timeout for pinging Added a Code struct which has TryFrom<&str> and std::fmt::Display implemented so it’s really easy to convert a code string to the code structure and back added logging with tracing Combined both sending sockets to one Arc<UdpSocket> so broadcaster and direct connection check share one socket reducing overhead Changed how I handle Errors, no longer ignoring them Next up: Cli Maybe a tui
Devlog 5: I finally did it! It’s now a cli tool! What changed: It’s a Cli. So, to use it just try the --help / -h flag to get the usage. Also, I restructured the project into a core lib and the cli bin crates using a cargo workspace. This should allow me to more easily develop the Tui later. Also, as I have mentioned I want to create a tui. Maybe later a gui would be a great addition but that’s something I’m not quite sure about.
Devlog 6: Finaly finished the CLI. Over the past hours I have improved my code a lot. By making it automaticly terminate if it gets pinged and adding the --no_stop flag to prevent automatic closing. Next up: Shipping it and maybe after getting some feedback improving it.
