Ok, I’m going to ship V1 in 2 days. Cuz I wanna be able to buy something from stardance here’s the plan: update readme finish user input make it run in the background (maybe) make sure it works Will this pan out? we’ll see.
V1 COMPLETE It actually happened! I implemented every feature I wanted for V1!!!!!!!!!!! of course, it looks pretty bad at the moment. But all of the core features are working. User input isn’t broken, it runs in the background, and it actually rings at the correct time. First ship, here I come!
Improvement of UI WIP I’ve started work on improving the UI of the program, specifically the config setup, using Raylib! It’s going well so far, but I’m not quite done yet I’m really not looking forward to having to deal with keyboard input ;-;

INSTALLER also the setup menu is working correctly now. Making the installer was SO EASY ITS INSANE people (windows devs) really need to do this more, It’s one of the easiest ways to make your little project feel more professional, like a real, big boy application, not just a silly program you made. A nicer alarm Check it out! Much nicer than a text box, don’t you agree? This means that V2.0 is finally ready to ship!!!! tomorrow it’s 2 rn ;-;
Finishing touches before V2.0 release! Just commented some debugging code and recompiled everything for the V2.0 release. She’s ready!
Minor bug fixes I wouldn’t call some of these “minor” but… I’ve fixed several bugs in the program in the newest releases (2.1 & 2.2) The exact details are listed in the releases on github. If you’re one of the absolute legends that are actually using this program, PLEASE update asap! I call them minor, but these bugs (especially the one fixed in 2.1) completely brick the program!

This one took a while, but I managed to finish the complete schematic. There are still a few bugs to fix, but not many—I’ll try to get to them today—but the project itself is already taking shape.
I’ve finished the complete PCB and fixed all the bugs I found; now I’m going to send it off.
working on the case study for my project (Blare)
I’m almost finished with the 3D model.
Just finishing up the case—it looks a bit rough, so I’m thinking about redoing it.
Man, I almost couldn’t get this case study done—my computer kept freezing and I tried everything, but I only managed to finish the bottom part :(. I’m going to do the rest; anyone want to give me a hand? If so, hit me up on Slack. pls, i love u. I decided to start over from scratch; I was getting a lot of errors, so I decided to keep it simple.
I’m really close to finishing; I studied hard, made the most of my free time at school, and managed to design something halfway decent (I think)—but there are still a few little things left to wrap it up.
I put all the parts together—I thought it was better that way so I wouldn’t have to figure out where to put screws, haha—but I think it’ll work; I’m almost done.
case closed! Only the firmware finalization is missing. Real talk, I had to spend a little time studying, the worst of all is knowing that I managed to learn the basics of 3D modeling in about 2 days, but I only learned because I dedicated myself, I can create several 3D models already, my goal is to build something really bigger, and take a little time to learn hardware construction, but each one at a time, it got kind of long hahaha, thank you to you who read.
Writing the alarm clock firmware!
Now for the best part: submitting the project! Everything is ready, and I’m happy to have finished it. It was a project that challenged me to the extreme; I had to learn a lot of new things along the way, which is why it took me quite a while to complete.

I am building PrepBS , A smart study management platform …. i spent some time a create a basic server …then i will start programming for my real WEBAPP
Today I completed my authentication system, in which I created the registration and login page i also created the frontend of Login Page, I need to connected the frontend to the backend through and APIs and then… I built 70% of the authentication system of my app.
Yahhh.. Today i complete my auth pages and System in which user can create profile and login if they already have a account . Next i do … work on onboarding page and dashboard …….
i completed my MVP , i build complete my webapp in MERN stack and i am confuse abour whether i add more features or deploy i buided a complete AUTH aspect to my add connected to real time Database , build all pages and component , debug all needed Api and check their functionality …and more …….
I’m ready my project for development. I changed the Some code Create .env and more….., and then I deployed my backend on Render and my frontend on the Vercel and I connected both of them. First time i deploying my project. I took help from ChatGPT to know how to implement the command. I need to run the command npm run build and do more thing then my web App go live on internet
Here is a new look of PrepBS. It gives a very nice vibe and also I changed the CSS code and I wrote it by myself. Then I observed one thing: my website is not responsive. What I did was I copied all the code and tried to set it to be responsive, the smallest one. i only said to ChatGPT than in code ChatGPT add limits are between my page load cards and all the components load, then my website is also built to be responsive. Now that’s the look of my login page.
i successfully build my register ( create account) page and first page of onboarding ..in which i have a botton for lets starting ( basucally it is asking are you ready) and i feeling i am thinking about i taking too much time for writing css because i am slowly-slowly writes my css and i try to write faster for my upcoming pages ….
finally i completed my all pages now only dashboard is left that i do then newlook of PrepBS is ready
After a long time finally, my new theme is completed. I don’t know why I made the mistake in just a simple language, CSS. Even though I write the maximum code by myself, still for the responsiveness of the website I use ChatGPT. That’s the part I need to work on by myself. That project also helped me to know my skills and where I am lagging behind. now i only need to update Readme then i ready to ship…..

DZIP (Distraction Zipper) — a Chrome extension with three main quality-of-life features: Focus mode — a one-click toggle that automatically appears on every page. You add your tasks and start a focused session. Task-Locked exit — you can’t leave Focus mode until all your tasks are checked off, along with typed proof of what you actually did. So there’s no “I’ll just check one thing real quick.” Persistent zips — a hover-and-click picker that lets you hide distracting elements from a webpage. The hidden elements stay hidden even after refreshing the page, and they are saved separately for each website. I also added a bonus feature outside the original scope: Isolate mode . You can click on one element, like a video or an article, and everything else on the page gets hidden so you can focus only on that. What was challenging? The hardest part was getting the UI to work properly without fighting with the webpage it was injected into. At first, typing a space in the task input would actually pause background videos because my keyboard inputs were bubbling up to the website’s own shortcuts. I had to isolate the whole DZIP UI using Shadow DOM and stop event propagation on the inputs. Making the zips stay after a reload was also pretty tricky. I generate a CSS selector path for each hidden element and then apply those selectors again when the page loads. It works pretty well, but it can still break on websites that use dynamically generated class names. What am I proud of? Definitely the Task-Locked exit . Most focus extensions just hide distracting stuff, but I wanted DZIP to actually make you commit to the task. Before leaving Focus mode, you have to finish everything and write down what you actually did. That was the part that made DZIP feel like more than just another decluttering extension, and it’s also something I can see myself actually using regularly. What should people know so they can test it? It’s currently an unpacked Chrome extension. Go to: chrome://extensions → enable Developer mode → Load unpacked After loading it: Click the floating button in the top-right corner to start Focus mode. Try adding a task with spaces in it while a video is playing in the background. This was one of the bugs I had to fix. Try exiting Focus mode before completing your tasks. It should keep you locked in. Try Isolate on a page with a video or article and see how it hides everything else.", "repo": "https://github.com/himaldawadi11-sys/DZIP", "demo": "https://github.com/himaldawadi11-sys/DZIP/releases/tag/v0.3.0"}]...

Realized hover-and-click hiding wasn’t the right main interaction for a focus tool. So DZIP now centers on Focus mode instead, with the original zip picker demoted to a secondary tool inside it. What’s new: Focus mode: a floating toggle button now injects itself automatically on every page (top-right). Click it to start a session: list your tasks, and you’re locked in. Task-Locked exit : you can’t leave Focus mode until every task is checked off with typed proof of what you actually did. No more “just checking one thing” and never coming back. Persistent zips : the original picker tool (hover to highlight, click to hide, Esc to cancel) now saves what you’ve hidden per-site, so it survives page reloads instead of resetting every time. Isolate mode (new idea, wasn’t in the original plan) :click one element (a video, an article) and everything else on the page gets hidden, leaving just that. DZIP Devlog #1: Distraction Zipper The mission: Build a quality-of-life Chrome extension that remove the friction from focusing. Not just a another app but something that gives you real tools to clear distraction and hold on yourself. Built a picker tool first; hover to highlight any page element. Click to zip it behind an “unzip” bar.
DZIP — Devlog #2 Picked up where the picker/zip tool left off. More aggressive than zipping individual distractions one at a time.
Ships:
What did you make? Try Isolate on a page with a video or article and see how it hides everything else....

Begun working on this project. So far i’ve just defined the main colour variables and started writing the basics such as the topbar and the background.
Finished working on the applet styling. Now it’s time for the main body of the webOS and some scripting to get functions like the clock to work correctly.
Github page is ready, code is licensed and the demo is up! After fiddling around with git trying to find out how it works, I managed to get it working, and now I can always easily commit updates while working there.
Display! Currently only the calculator works. I am currently working on everything else, and I should be able to ship this by the end of the day.
It’s ready to ship! I’ve polished the code a bit, decided to include the terminal (but strip its functionality down quite a bit), and the main UI now functions properly.

I am still working on getting the embed to show up after the command has happened still working to fix it ! I tried some things that I think will work wish me luck! (PS) Still testing these are new pictures
I made IT WORK now I officially made the embed work for the addition to the gallery Im in school so I dont have access to discord to show it but once i go home Im gonna add a screenshot! But here is the code for it
Devlog #4 *So previously I was struggling to get my embeds and my guides command to work but now I have officially made these work and they work! Updated List of Features /add-gallery to add a project to the gallery page /add-guide to add a new guide card After the slash commands an embed is sent and it looks very good!

Features: Added 6 slash commands (/jer-ping, /jer-help, /jer-catfact, /jer-roll, /jer-coinflip, /jer-joke). It uses external APIs for cat facts and jokes. Challenges: Faced an invalid_auth error on Render due to a typo in the environment variables. Fixed it by correcting the tokens. Got a 404 error during submission because the GitHub repo was private. Made it public to fix it. Result: The bot is now live 24/7 on Render and responds to commands instantly. GitHub repo is public and the project is submitted!

I built “jer bot”, a custom Slack bot for the Stardance Challenge using Node.js and @slack /bolt. It has 6 unique slash commands (ping, help, catfact, roll, coinflip, joke) and fetches real data using Axios. The biggest challenge was deploying it to Render. I ran into an “invalid_auth” error because of a typo in my environment variables, and then a 404 error during submission because my repo was private. Fixed both by correcting the tokens and making the repo public. I’m really proud that it’s now running 24/7 on Render even when my laptop is closed. To test it, just go to the #bot-spam channel in the Hack Club Slack and type /jer-help or /jer-ping. It replies instantly!...

To fix this we understand that the ratio between the distance of my wrist and the point right where the pinky finger starts and the distance between fingers is always constant (because the palm never bends so it gives us a reference point to calculate distance) , even when I move hand closer or far away. so that’s what I did, I calculated the ratio and used it as the distance which you can also see in the video below. Devlog 1 Intro I have some plans for this project. I want to build a software which will let me control my pc from my hands via gestures. Functionality Left click - Tapping Thumb and Index finger Right click - Holding thumb and index finger still while in contact Moving cursor - Moving the hand with the thumb and finger close by Scrolling - Holding the thumb & middle finger and moving it up and down Middle click - Tapping thumb and middle finger Stack Python Mediapipe Today’s work Today I had setup a git repo and started writing the code. There is also score which is the confidence of hand tracking and contact which tells if the index and thumb are in contact.
Devlog 2 Added Scrolling Functionality Today I mapped the scroll wheel with pyautogui to scroll as I move my hand up or down while keeping my finger and thumb in contact. To do so I calculated the mid point between my thumb and finger. This point acts as the main point whose position is considered for scrolling. You can see it in the video as well, it turns red when my fingers come in contact Next to actually scroll I use the following code -> diff = ti_mid[1]-prev_ti_midpt_y if abs(diff) > small_movement: pyautogui.scroll(int(diff*sensitivity)) prev_ti_midpt_y = ti_mid[1] Here I Compare the position of the mid pt in each iteration, calculate the difference and multiply with a constant which acts a sensitivity. Devlog 3 Added Mouse and Zoom Functionality I made this quite a while ago and then got sick, forgot to log this. I added Mouse scroll and zoom functionality. The zoom works by bringing thumb and index finger close, then using the middle finger to zoom as you can see in the video. You can switch between the 3 modes by pressing “P” while keeping the camera window in focus
Devlog 4 I added a readme and built the programme into an .exe file. So now you can easily go and test it out!

It isn’t a respin of anything. It has its own package manager (bpm, written in Rust with streaming installs and SHA-256 verification), its own package format, and its own signed repository using an Ed25519 signature over the index. There are 225 package recipes so far, from glibc and binutils upward. It’s also self-hosted in the real sense. The base system is built from Blueberry packages using the Blueberry toolchain, and if a build falls back to a foreign bootstrap, that’s considered a build failure rather than a successful build. I came back to the project after about a month away and spent some time auditing the live infrastructure before getting back to development. I fixed the repository issues I found, published nine package updates, and built something new: you can now try Blueberry directly in your browser at https://try.blueberrylinux.org . The hardest part of this round was actually a near miss. There’s an old copy of bpmrepo.sh sitting on the repository host that predates serial support. It doesn’t emit the |serial| line. It was sitting there looking perfectly usable, and it would have worked. The problem is that using it would have silently removed rollback protection from the signed repository index. Nothing would have obviously failed. The index would still have been signed and the repository would still have worked. I only caught it because I went back and checked what my own client actually expects instead of assuming the existing tool was the right one. The browser shell also had two bugs that took a bit of debugging. First, pty.fork() already calls setsid(), so I was calling it a second time. That resulted in EPERM and killed every session immediately after launch. Then the xterm CDN URLs started returning 404s. The frontend failed before it could even display the actual error, so from the user’s perspective it just sat there saying “connecting…”. I vendored the assets locally and changed the frontend to report asset loading failures properly. The part I’m happiest with is how the browser environment is built. The thing you’re running in the browser is actually assembled from the same packages the distro itself uses. The isolation is also verified rather than assumed. From inside a live session, the router, the hypervisor, and 1.1.1.1 are all unreachable, and only three PIDs are visible. If you want to try it, open https://try.blueberrylinux.org . It’s a real shell on a real Blueberry rootfs. There’s no network access, nothing persists between sessions, and each session is limited to ten minutes. The other was blueberry-build.timer on the repo host, which had failed every hour since 29 June — 2,217 consecutive failures — because it was still trying to run blueberry-build-server.sh. I deleted that script during the .bpm migration and never disabled the unit.I also initially thought repo1 was broken. It isn’t. Its index is 0 bytes because it’s the BUR community mirror and nothing has been approved there yet. Nginx correctly returns 404 at the origin. That one was just me reading the state incorrectly. Both actual issues are now fixed.I disabled the timer rather than bringing the old script back. I also republished the index with a fresh serial using tools/release/repo-publish.sh. It re-indexes remotely using the hardened bpmrepo.sh, including a count-floor check, timestamped backup, and atomic index + signature swap.I almost used the wrong script. /opt/blueberry/tools/bpmrepo.sh is an orphaned copy from before serial support was added and doesn’t emit the |serial| line. Publishing with that one would have silently removed rollback protection from the signed index.I also did an upstream sweep. 110 of the 225 packages are currently outdated. The first scan hit 11 GitHub HTTP errors because of unauthenticated API rate limiting. Passing a token brought that down to one.I bumped and built nine packages from the current sources and published them:tzdata 2026b -> 2026dcurl 8.21 -> 8.22libcap 2.73 -> 2.78libxml2wireless-regdbless 668 -> 710jq 1.8.2htop 3.5.3nano 8.7.1All nine were built using the Blueberry toolchain with no bootstrap fallback. The changes are on branch pkg-bump-2026-09-20.Three automatic bumps produced incorrect source URLs. ca-certificates tried to fetch a 2026-08 PEM from the 2026-05 path, and expat tried to fetch 2.8.4 from the R_2_8_2 tag. Those were left unpublished rather than shipping the wrong tarball.sqlite needs a manual bump. openssl 3.4.6 -> 4.0.2, perl 5.40 -> 5.44, and gettext 0.26 -> 1.0 are ABI-level changes, so those will get separate passes. There’s also something new: you can try Blueberry directly in your browser. https://try.blueberrylinux.orgNo install and no signup. It’s a real shell running on a real Blueberry rootfs. The rootfs is about 480 MB, assembled by walking the dependency closure from bpm.index and pulling the packages directly from the live mirror. It contains 41 packages, including bpm 1.11.6.The frontend is xterm.js, with an aiohttp WebSocket connected to a PTY, served through Cloudflare. Each session gets an overlay over a read-only rootfs, its own network, PID, mount, and UTS namespaces, a 32 MB tmpfs, and a hard 10-minute limit. There are 12 concurrent sessions allowed, and sessions are torn down when the client disconnects.I also verified the isolation from inside a live session. The router, hypervisor, and 1.1.1.1 are unreachable, and only three PIDs are visible. There were two bugs while building the browser shell.First, pty.fork() already calls setsid(), so my additional setsid() call failed with EPERM and killed every session during startup. The server reported “operation not permitted” and closed the WebSocket before the shell even started.Second, the xterm CDN URLs were returning 404s. The page failed before it could report the error and just sat on “connecting…”. I vendored the assets locally and changed the frontend to report asset load failures explicitly. So the current state is: the repository is publishing again, the dead build timer is gone, the first batch of package updates is built and published, and Blueberry now has a browser-accessible shell for trying out the system without installing anything."}]...

So the current state is: the repository is publishing again, the dead build timer is gone, the first batch of package updates is built and published, and Blueberry now has a browser-accessible shell for trying out the system without installing anything.
Ships:
Blueberry Linux is a source-built rolling x86-64 server distro I’ve been working on since May. The source is available here: https://github.com/zsigisti/blueberry...

I wanted each command to do something different so the bot would meet the requirement of having at least three functions rather than having three commands that were basically the same. The first one I added was /remindme. The command takes a number of minutes followed by some text, for example /remindme 5 Finish my homework. I used split(maxsplit=1) so that the first part can be treated as the time while everything after it stays as the reminder message. For the actual delay, I used Python’s threading.Timer. This lets the bot continue running normally while it waits for the reminder. When the timer finishes, the bot sends a DM to the person who created the reminder. I then added /weather. Instead of using an API that needs an account/API key, I used the free wttr.in service. The city is taken directly from what the user types after the command and the response is sent back to the person as a DM. Devlog 1 I started by getting the basic Slack Bolt app running through Socket Mode. I chose Socket Mode because I wanted to be able to test the bot directly from my computer without having to set up a public server first. For my first actual command, I made /clock. I wanted this to be slightly more useful than just displaying the computer’s time, so I used Slack’s user information to find the timezone of whoever ran the command. This means the command doesn’t need a timezone written into the code and should work for different users. I had to use users_info to get the user’s profile and then use the tz value from it. After getting the timezone, Python’s zoneinfo module can convert the current time to the correct local time. I tested the command in Slack and checked that the time it returned matched my timezone. The ‘hard’ part was getting the bot to actually give the time, but it turns out it was giving it to me after all, I was just looking in the wrong spot 😆.
Devlog 2 Once /clock was working, I started adding the other two commands. After adding both commands, I tested different inputs, including leaving out the city for the weather command and entering something that wasn’t a number for the reminder. This helped me add some basic messages for incorrect input instead of letting the program crash.
Devlog 3 Went through the pain of trying to hsot it 24/7, but got there! Added README.md and other files that I needed.

I made a Python Slack bot with three commands: /clock, /remindme, and /whatstheweather. The hardest part was getting each command to work properly and making sure the bot could respond to users through DMs. I also had to work out how to keep the bot running when my laptop isn’t on, which meant setting it up on a cloud host. I’m most proud of having three different useful commands working together in one bot. I also added error handling for things like missing commands, invalid reminder times and weather requests that don’t work. To test it, use /clock, /remindme 1 test reminder, or /whatstheweather Sydney in Slack. The bot will respond through DMs, which can be found under Activities....
