I am working hard on the level editor. I am making this way to good. But I feel if I dont make it properly I wont be motivated to make levels. So a lot of this time I spend figuring out what I did last a few months ago. I really should write that down… Anyways now I can select building blocks on the right!
I did a lot of stuff in the backend. I cant really explain but I will try. The Items you can see on the left are building blocks. And I had to make a general resource that accounts for all the variants and sources and place styles etc. I managed it after like 5 hours. Anyway now you are finaly able to place blocks!
I implemented rotation! And also a bunch of backend thats just a pain. I had to redo the whole saving and loading system. Its more reliable now and its not as ugly. Also there is a indicator when the file isnt unsaved!
DELETE! now you can delete level chunks and also some more settings
Today I made a pipette function. It was easier then expected, except actually showing the item when one has been picked. The scrolling was hard. But unfortunately I cant really show that with a screenshot, so I also made a level. And I must say, the editor seems to work pretty good.:)
Improvements and Fixes: I fixed some stuff on the saving, now it wont duplicate some files accidentally. Also notice the layer icon on the bottom right. This now makes it easier what you are actually editing when painting the map!
Git and Godot arent friends. Whoever said that you just have to tick the “git” mark on godot. Well f you. I just took 3 hrs of my time to fix sth that shouldnt need fixing just cause git cant understand everything godot does and the other way around. I spend many attempts trying to make “mkdirs” work. I think they do now. But maybe shenanigans will come back. I do not look forward to this. Basically nth about the game changed in this Devlog. I am sorry. I will just have to create my own Repository System for Godot. jk! PS. Because there is nothing new to show. Here is a screenshot of the demo running again:(
Thanks too all the trouble I had in the last devlog! I now didnt have too many issues implementing a debug game window. Its soo useful
On the surface I added a few more textures to work with. Which are great thanks Craftpix! But there was a major overhaul in the backend and I did some levels which I am gonna show in the next devlog when I will have some more done.
This was so hard and I still dont really have it! So I just want to make these gems that you can collect. And I want them to bob up and down randomly. Turns out after 6 hours of trying around there is no good solution. Ok I am really picky, but under my constraints there really wasnt anything. So then began the game of “If first you dont success, lower your expectations till you do” And now I almost got it. Keyboards are way more advanced than macropads (obviously), so it took a bit to find out what I needed to add. There are a lot more components necessary for the keyboard to run properly (such as capacitors that stabilize power, resistors limiting currents so your components don’t fry themselves, and crystals prevent miscommunication). The schematic alone has provided a great learning experience for me. The PCB is close to being done (I think). I’ve laid out all my switches properly and accounted for my alternative keyboard layouts. All I have to do now is incorporate the rest of my components (my microcontroller, etc.). Notes: Schematics take a long, long time…especially when you have to add 100+ switches.. Still thinking of a design for my case, don’t know whether I should go for a more minimalistic style or base it off some media I enjoy."}]...

Devlogs:
I designed thew airbrake main body and set up the physical relations all that’s left is to get physical parts to place in the body design wise.
This session i worked on adding mounts for the air brake for sensors and the servo, likely the last i will work on the Onshape model until i get it printed. In addition to that i began making some code for the air brake starting by making the function to do the RK4(Runge-Kutta 4th order) predictions for apogee.
This work was on a stabilizer for the accelerometer. It would carry it on a tray with a weight below it so that gravity pulled it into the same orientation despite rotation of the larger vehicle. This is to be achieved through 3d printed bearings which would allow the system to move with little enough friction to ignore the small amounts of roll force (unless there is a catastrophic tumbling.
more sub project work while i work o getting the housing printed. the assembly for the stabilizer is done (doesn’t need Yaw Axis) all i need is the mount and a way to perch it on the air brake
More work on the stabilizer. specifically i made the mountings better and standardized the bearings as well as added the accelerometer mount
Added a mounting ring to the Stabilizer
Made a print for the stabalizer
made it print ready
after printing i have adjusted dimensions for better printing...

Finally Learned how to use KiCad, made my first schematic and pcb. Version 1 of my hackpad is complete, next I want to add some rotary encoders and maybe an OLED Display!
Finished the PCB! Most noticeable improvements is a switch from direct wiring to matrix. Also added two rotary encoders to control volume or brightness.
Finished Cad Design! Although I hit 10 Fusion projects so now I have to pay to download it😭😭. I will figure out a work around tomorrow.
Finished the case for my hackpad, and added spots for screws and heat set inserts.
Finishing touches! Some improvements to the case, fixed some problems with the PCB and made my GitHub repo! Can’t wait to start building!
Made some minor improvements to the PCB. Next I’m going to start the software and hopefully get it done by Sunday.
Tried to start the firmware! Its so confusing I moved over to KMK, wish me luck!
Finished the software! Actually really straight forward once you get the hang of it. Also fixed my GitHub Repo and I’m ready to ship!
Finished solderinh! first time so took a long time, made some mistakes, but alas it is almost finished!!! 🥂
Redesigned macropad case! More minimalist with better tolerances
“knurled” knob!!! for ec11 rotary encoder!
Flashed firmware onto my xiao!!! But then I realized I soldered one of my diodes the wrong way 💀💀
fixed some rotary encoder bugs. gotta admit ai helped me a little 😅...

Devlogs:
I learned how to use kicad I am going to make my button pad a 3x3 with encoder
I redid the schematic I am kinda bad at this so i have to redo the OLED wiring tomorrow(Shoutout to frog dude for catching it)
I routed the PCB and started to cad it in fusion
CAD-ing has begun Ive started cadding a case in fusion. I also am making the board in fusion so that I have a better preview of what Im making. Devtime(from lapse) isn’t updating for some reason, I think its around 1 hr 30 min
LED’s were gonna look horrible around the perimeter so i just scrapped them and hoocked up the encoder. Undid bevels to allow for screw stuff and im working on the case again
I finally finished getting the basic cad blocked out. I want to get a voronoi effect on the body so it looks cool.
it now looks tuff I made some cool looking holes in it. I think I am nearing readiness for shipping…
i finished cad. I have no idea how firmware works and it is very confusing. send help 😭
I started working on firmware(finally!). Firmware documentation for KMK seems to be a bit difficult to navigate so AI is assisting me there. I also set up my github repository and made a render of the final product!
Finished firmware(finally) and worked on readme. I finally finished the firmware, I added a cool picture to the screen which I struggled with. I also started working on getting info on the readme. I hope to ship this week!
if breathing solder fumes causes memory loss, imagine what breathing solder fumes can do? Been a while! I got everything manufactured and shipped. I soldered all of the diodes and the encoder. Beginning to feel confident with my soldering skills. Ill try to finish soldering everything by tomorrow(8/23/26) my hands are so shaky wtf
that feeling when you have a working goober pad, but all of your AP chem notes are STILL not done =0 I finally finished soldering everything! This thing works and im very excited to see it in its case. It took 40 min to get firmware working(w lapse for not adding that to the time), but overall, it was easy. Only issue was all keybindings were messed up(pause button alt f4s you, volume down makes volume go up, etc.). My friend is waiting for filament so he can print the case, but i hope to ship by next weekend!...
