I added multiple apps including a Terminal, Notes, Calculator, Browser and Settings, plus four themes you can switch between. There are keyboard shortcuts, a Konami Code easter egg and even draggable desktop icons to make it feel more like a real OS. The main challenge was definitely the browser app. Most major sites like Google, Yahoo and Bing block embedding inside an iframe, so they refused to load in the little browser window. I had to work around that by using sites that actually allow iframe embedding, like Wikipedia. Once I figured out how iframe permissions work, the browser became a proper working app instead of just a blank box. I’m proud of how smooth the window system feels. Dragging, resizing, minimising and switching between windows all works without any weird glitches. The theme system also turned out nicer than I expected, and the whole OS stays lightweight and fast even with multiple windows open. To test StellarOS, just download the folder, move it somewhere safe, open index.html and start clicking around. The window manager does most of the heavy lifting, handling movement, resizing and keeping the active window on top. The app manager just launches whatever you click, whether it’s an icon or something from the start menu. Themes were fun to add too, and switching between Light, Dark, Starry Night and Sunset feels surprisingly smooth. Each app has its own little personality. The Terminal has basic commands and a tiny secret message. Notes is just a simple textarea for quick writing. The Calculator handles basic maths without any drama. The Browser loads pages through an iframe, and Settings lets you switch themes. I also added keyboard shortcuts because it makes the whole thing feel more like a real OS, and the Konami Code easter egg is just there for fun. Testing it is pretty straightforward. You download the folder, move it somewhere safe, open index.html and start clicking around. Windows drag smoothly, apps open instantly, themes switch without delay and shortcuts work right away. It’s meant to feel simple, clean and a bit playful; just a lightweight web OS you can have fun with."}]...

Since my first ship got feedback that it used too much AI in the styling, I went back and changed some of the CSS so that it was mostly mine and less AI. I have made it much simpler using only my knowledge, and have managed to learn some stuff and keep it still looking good.
Since my ship was told it used too much AI, i essentially deleted the CSS rewrote the CSS myself.

Finally started working on my personal site! Built out the core HTML, got a simple header, a quick intro, linked my repos. Looks pretty basic right now without any styling, but CSS is up next!
Devlog#2 Spent another hour on the site and finally moved past the plain HTML stage. Added the navbar, styled the main page, added dark mode, buttons, hover effects, and making it mobile friendly. It finally looks like an actual website now. next i’ll work on the projects and research section.
Devlog#3 Spent some time cleaning up the code today. Fixed a few HTML, CSS and mobile issues. nothing major, but the code is much cleaner now and the mobile navbar actually works properly. And Finally its done!!! Check it out!

I made my personal portfolio website from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to showcase my projects, and a little bit about myself. It took me around 4 hours to build the site and fix all the bugs along the way. I started with a really basic HTML layout and gradually added the navigation bar, styling, dark mode, buttons, hover effects, and mobile responsiveness. The most challenging part was probably finding and fixing the small mistakes that were breaking different parts of the website, especially the mobile navigation. I’m proud that I built everything myself instead of using a template or website builder, and that I was able to take a basic page and turn it into something that actually feels like my own. To test it, you can explore the different sections, try the navigation, switch between light and dark mode, and check out the buttons and hover effects. It’s still a work in progress, and I’ll keep adding more projects and other things as I build them and learn new things....

The onFocusing Sessions, Devlog 2: Graphicssss most of the work on onFocus today went to creating its graphical identity: logos, wordmarks, etcc! The color palette chosen gives it a “minty clean” feeling, just like our (planned) UI! main issue today involved the fact that I used live text on the wordmark when designing it in Affinity, so when exported to SVG, if the host device didn’t have the custom font, it would look horrible in a fallback sans-serif, and thats putting it lightly. The onFocusing Sessions, Devlog 3: onFocus invades your browser, muehehe guysss, finally, tangible progress has been made! with the addition of the Manifest V3, alongside other configs, onFocus can now be installed as an extension on Chromium-based browsers in extension developer mode and take over your (allegedly) very bloated and time-consuming new tab! quick devlog 6.5! the features and changes mentioned in devlog 6 are now available! since the ship review came back needing a few changes, i figured i should just bundle them in the re-ship.
Devlog 7: are you blind? they are clearly different! its a UI refresh! like chrome in 2023, the onFocus UI has been updated! i rewrote the whole css stylesheet and brought some changes along the way! buttons are now minty! the weather icon is now also filled with minty color, not just an outline as before. rounded corners in bars have also been amplified. the onFocus logo has been moved to the top of all the center elements. most importantly, i realized that previously, onFocus used to be quite resource wasteful with some visuals (like the moving aurora blobs). all these unnecessary stuff have been removed, and now onFocus doesnt consume as much system resources as before.

Hush! Took a lot of time just to write basic html lines. I did trial and error for a good combination of colors and themes.
After corrections directed by reviewers, completed. I re wrote the code, which the older code used AI for 30%+ project.

The challenging part was the animations. The Glows that this tab has made me scratch my head for hours. But still finally made it with the help of a friend. An unfortunate thing is that my hackatime didn’t counted properly. I spend 4 hrs on this, but it shows 1 hr on the ’ my projects’ page. This tab is inspired from the iconic chrome’s offline dino game....

before bringing in more testers, i wanted to clear out the obvious things that would get in their way. i went through the main screens fixing layout issues, inconsistent components, and navigation that took too much effort to understand. these were mostly small changes rather than new features, but they made the experience more consistent. the next round of feedback should help me find the problems i haven’t already learned to work around.
socle needed more places to explore as well as a cleaner interface. i added locations and filled out existing pages, then worked through inconsistent layouts, spacing, small bugs, and interactions that felt awkward. having more content also made the gaps in the experience easier to spot. this update brings the app closer to a wider test, where people can spend time discovering things instead of reaching the end of the available content.
taste needed a practical way to test visits before full location tracking was ready. i replaced the old flow with a temporary visit button, which let me check how visiting a place changes someone’s profile. i also adjusted how actions are weighted and repeated activity is counted, so one place doesn’t overwhelm everything else someone likes. the screenshot keeps the exact scoring weights private, but the goal is straightforward: taste should develop from someone’s activity without becoming too easy to distort.

this was where socle’s discovery and business sides started connecting. i worked on turning feedback, saves, visits, and employee recognition into insights a business could use. the difficult part was deciding when those interactions supported a conclusion, so i built around showing the evidence and admitting when there wasn’t enough. i also separated the broader patterns managers need from the feedback an individual employee should see. the first engine uses rules i can inspect and test, giving me a clearer foundation to build on.

Devlogs:
so it is my first project it about making a button that escapes for the person cursor when trying to click it and i will add things like changing color and more and it uses things like html, javascript, css mostly it uses html. i am buliding it now.
this is an interactive web app built with html, css and javascript the moment you attempt to click it the button, javascript tracks your cursor location and glides it smoothly to the opposite side of your screen, making it impossible to catch.
so i am making a button that escapes from your cursor when trying to click it i added things like i made the button change color every time someone hovers over it trying to click the button and i added dodge counter to count how many times it have dodged you and one more thing i have letter changing i mean when you try to click it and dodges you it says like too slow, nice try…etc.
I was working on my runaway panic button today! Added a multi-level boss mode where players can choose from 4 difficulty levels(shy, panicked, hyperactive, and impossible). Ran into few JavaScript bugs while setting up the movement logic and button Scaling, so i will be finishing up debugging tomorrow!🛠️
finished fixing UI bug and added a live click counter! Now the game tracks every time a player actually manages to land a hit on the runaway button. On the first click, the display updates to “clicks: 1” in real time and triggers the “YOU WON!” screen. tested it using keyboard controls to make sure the event listener fires smoothly!
I worked on building and finishing “The Runaway Panic Button”, an interactive arcade web game using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. What I built and updated: • Runaway Mechanics: Programmed the target button to calculate screen boundaries and dodge away whenever hovered or touched. • UI & Layout: Compacted the top dashboard arena box and positioned the “Challenge a Friend” button in the bottom-right corner. • Rank Progression: Tied player ranks strictly to successful Clicks (Snail Reflexes -> Coffee Jitters -> Lightning Fingers -> Touch Grass Please ). • Spacebar Freeze Power: Added a hidden cheat counter that reveals when pressing Spacebar, freezing the button for 4 seconds so players can spam-click it. • Decoy Clone Hazards: Spawned fake red decoy buttons after 20+ dodges that reset player Clicks to 0 if misclicked. • Speech & Audio: Added Web Speech API synthesis for real-time voice taunts and victory announcements.

Backend Processing Loop - read & process inbox (process audio chunks & respond with frequency frames, process & confirm parameter updates, respond to metadata requests, and shutdown) Backend Thread Starter Method CLI Main Loop - read & process inbox (process new frequency frames, process parameter update confirmations, process shutdown confirmations), update TUI with new note, read & process keypresses (temporary hotkeys for testing) (I wasn’t planning on submitting this to Stardance, so I’ve done a lot of work on it. Future devlogs will be smaller)
Added base parameters (min frequency, max frequency, noise filter, detection mode) to the TUI, also increased size of the main pitch display.
Added detection parameters to the UI (changes with detection mode), and implemented Two-Way Mismatch detection algorithm (parameters not implemented yet). Also finally remembered to commit to the git repo (oops).
Created Smart Parameters and UI for Two-Way Mismatch. Added a volume meter, shows green when audio is past volume filter.
Added navigating and selecting items and shifting selected parameters Fixed bug in CyclicParam that caused subtractions past bounds, breaking unsigned types if the lower bound was zero Added Tooltips with info about selected item (descriptions to come) Note: Two-way mismatch, appears to be highly unstable and generally incorrect (one semitone above actual), tried debugging but no success.
Switched ‘R’ key to reset currently selected parameter, Added ‘P’ key to reset all parameters, Switch hide cursor key from Space to Backspace Added Tooltip Descriptions for every selectable item Completed documentation for this release. Compiled release versions using cross and cargo-make.

Sixth devlog This is literal hell, I chose to read the disc data as little endian and write converters and walkers for the game Turns out doing that is not so easy, there is about ~100 different unique crashes that happen (100 is the number of ones I could actually find ) and each one requires a whole lot of time and effort to fix manually So yea the 10 hours were spent grinding away using my LLMs to get it down to ~20 crashes, there is still alot of work that needs to be done for the 20 crashes and even more for the ones I have found yet Hopefully by the next devlog I would actually be happy

Just designed the fastAPI backend for the bot and connected it to gemini 3.8flash. still having issues getting the right response from the API though but it works. Now to being everything into one piece
Finally finished the project. Changed the background (again), connected the fastAPI endpoint to the JavaScript, added proper error handling (I think), designed an ending animation, cors. Did a lot other things 8 can’t remember
Improved the response time for the Gemini endpoint

A Rabbit and Steel themed WebOS? You should steel yourself NOW! Rabbit and Steel has been one of my favorite games to play, especially with friends. So I thought, if I were to make a WebOS for Stardance, I wouldn’t try to make one that would be useful in every single sector possible, but something that I would just have fun with. So I landed with a Rabbit and Steel themed idea. Right now, all I’ve made is the landing window, topbar, and a background, loosely based on the white border and dark transparent background used in the Rabbit and Steel UI. Obviously, the next course of action is following through on the guide, but then I will try to add more Rabbit and Steel themed features later. Anyways, you should play Rabbit and Steel.
Devlog #2 I did some polishing and made a new app. I decided not to make a notes app as the guide directs, because I felt it to be unfitting. So, I instead made an embedded wiki (although I hate Fandom, Miraheze will not load).
Devlog #3 Added a settings page, albeit very barebones at the moment. This allows you to change the backgrounds; matching with game area backgrounds in Rabbit and Steel. There are two settings for window blur and drop shadow. I also spent (a lot of) time trying to add transitions but I honestly still have no clue how to use them properly. I’ll add more backgrounds to select later, but I want to make some other app.
Devlog #4 Added a music player. This music player just uses the Spotify preview embed of a playlist containing the full Rabbit and Steel OST, which I thought was preferable than importing all the sound files. It took me some time to figure out how to make the image animated, as it was a spritesheet taken directly from the game, but I think it adds a lot more to the music player. In future apps, I definitely want to add more animated assets. I have also expanded the settings page to include all backgrounds in Rabbit and Steel, and I have utilized local storage to save the settings and the background for future visits.
Devlog #5 Added a timer app. This took a bit of time to figure out in terms of functionality. But I was far more frustrated with trying to position Twili (the crow) and the rings in the center. Like the music player rabbits, this is animated as well, and the rings rotate. I also added sound effects from Rabbit and Steel for the timer being started and when it goes off, since what good does a timer do if it doesn’t notify you audibly?
Devlog #6 Well, now I move onto WebOS 2. I made the windows resizable! It took way too long to figure out why scrolling content wasn’t working, since I wanted it to be able to scroll if a window was really small. But, that was really only one of the problems. Devlog #7 I made a simple start-up screen, but I spent an hour fighting image scaling and general dimension quirks until I (mostly) figured it out. I used a simple fade-in from black paired with a fading blur effect to try and recreate the intro to Rabbit and Steel, along with using a cut version of the intro OST. Today, I finally decided to fix some bugs and add a few new features! So when I had this hosted on vercel, if you tried to copy the link and share it, it wouldn’t work, but I fixed that. I also simplified said link. Lastly, I added a share button to each file’s page and started on a new list feature (where the ‘Save to Placeholder’ is). I’ll start on that tomorrow but It probably won’t be done because it’s more complicated.
So far today, I reworked the tag filters and added a more page. While playing around with the tags, I realized they suck so I had to rework the logic around that. I also moved the Contacts link into the more page. The navbar won’t have enough space for everything I want to add so I just created the more page. So for, contact and random file work but recently viewed and your lists will probably be done tomorrow. I will still work on it today but they are more complicated features.
Today, I couldn’t do much because it’s late, I had a soccer game, and I’m tired, so I spent a little time fixing some minor bugs and started work on the Home Page. The styling might be done tomorrow but I’m not sure, I also have a game tomorrow.
Today I had a game so I couldn’t work on much. I did finish up the recently viewed on the home page though. Tomorrow, I will work on adding the the recently viewed page itself.
Today, I finished up the recently viewed page. It now shows it inside a dedicated page and you can clear it. I will probably start on the lists today but I won’t finish them today for sure. That is the last thing I need to add before I finish.
Today was a great day for the beta files! I finally decided to work on this feature. This feature was supposed to be long and tedious but it’s about average in both. After I finish this, I’ll finally be done with the Beta Files! I love this project but it’s kinda sad to finish with it. That will be Saturday though because I have a game tomorrow and SBR is coming out so I won’t have much time to finish it. I should most definitely be done by Saturday though unless some unexpected bugs occur.
Today, I worked on the indivisual list page for each item. You can edit the name and description here. You can also delete it. Tomorrow, I’m planning on finishing it by making it so you can add to the list via the item page.
Today is the day! I have FINALLY finished this! I’ve added lists and I don’t think there are any bugs. To use use lists, create one, go to the file you want to add to the list, and then save to list right next to the share button and save.

[{"post_id": 65917, "ts": "202 [{"post_id": 65917, "ts": "2026-09-11T11:38:47Z", "hours": 23.6644, "text": "3D.city — From Idea to a Browser-Based 3D City The project started with a simple idea: take the classic city-building simulation concept and turn it into a modern, fully 3D experience that runs directly in the browser. The goal was not just to create a visual 3D city, but to build an actual playable city simulation where the player can interact with and manage a living city. Starting the Project The first step was establishing the basic web application and the 3D rendering environment. The project uses Three.js as the main rendering framework. This provides the foundation for displaying buildings, roads, terrain, textures, lighting, and other elements of the city in real time. From the beginning, browser performance was an important consideration. A city can contain thousands of objects and simulation updates, so the architecture needed to be designed with performance in mind. Building the 3D World Once the rendering foundation was in place, the next step was creating the actual city environment. The project uses custom 3D models, textures, and shaders to make the city more than a collection of simple blocks. The rendering system is responsible for turning the underlying city data into a visual 3D world. Different development tools and map/tile utilities were also created during development to make it easier to work with the city’s terrain and map data. Adding the City Simulation A beautiful city is not enough for a city-building game. The city needs to actually simulate itself. For this, the project integrates micropolisJS, an open-source city simulation engine descended from the original SimCity source. This gives the project the underlying logic required for a functioning city simulation while allowing the 3D frontend to provide a completely different visual experience. One of the important architectural decisions was to run the simulation inside a Web Worker. Instead of performing all simulation calculations on the main browser thread, the simulation can run separately while Three.js focuses on rendering. This helps keep the interface responsive and the 3D world smooth. Connecting Simulation and Rendering The next challenge was connecting the simulation with the 3D world. The simulation produces city data, while the rendering system interprets that data and displays the appropriate structures and changes in the world. This creates the core loop of the project: Simulation → City Data → 3D Rendering → Player Interaction → Simulation This separation between simulation and rendering makes the project easier to expand while also helping with performance. Supporting Different Hardware Another important part of the development process was making the game usable on different systems. 3D.city — From Idea to a Browser-Based 3D City The project started with a simple idea: take the classic city-building simulation concept and turn it into a modern, fully 3D experience that runs directly in the browser. The repository contains different entry points for the experience, including a normal graphics version, an advanced GPU/WebGPU-oriented version, and a low-performance version. This allows the project to experiment with different rendering capabilities rather than assuming every player has the same hardware.
