Successfully gets data from NASA API! Now Working on store datas correctly
Implementing classes to store NEOs stats
Added CLI and implemented it in the main file!
Finished the MVP! Now works with current day and can refresh data!
Now works with double system Metric/US! Fixed also some little bugs. Stay tuned, soon will be added date changes!
Improved logic and CLI! Now the datatables are created only one time and reused. Now CLI is more readable.
Now you can move through the days. Need to add a label to see the current day on the screen. Really close to ship!
Finished MVP! Now you can move between days and change the metric system smoothly! I’ve optmized the logic and fixed some graphical errors. Next steps: add error handling and improve onboarding and requets.
Final devlog! I finished the MVP, now I’ll work on a v2 with a better file structure, a easier scalable architecture and more features!
Ready for shipping! I add the pyproject.toml for a easier use and installation, and create a GitHub release for the DEMO.
spaceboard V1.1.8 is done and ready for shipping! Use “pip install spaceboard” and then “spaceboard” to use it! I know isn’t perfect, but the V2 development is moved into “Terra” event. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

I’ve been working on a Slack bot for the Hack Club workspace, and I wanted to share how it’s coming along. Meet Simple Slackyyy Botty — a bot that started as a basic ping-check and has grown into a little assistant with six commands. THE COMMANDS SO FAR /simple-slackyyy-botty-ping — the simplest one. Just checks how fast the bot responds, useful for making sure everything’s alive and working. /simple-slackyyy-botty-catfact — pulls a random cat fact from a public API (catfact.ninja) and posts it. Small, silly, but a good first “real” feature since it taught me how to fetch data from outside APIs. /simple-slackyyy-botty-joke — same idea, but for jokes, pulling from the official-joke-api. This one needed a different HTTP library (axios) than the cat facts did, which was a good lesson in how there’s more than one way to make a web request in Node.js. /simple-slackyyy-botty-weather [city name] — this one leveled up a lot. It started as a fixed-location weather check, but now you can type any city and it’ll geocode the name into coordinates, then fetch live weather for it — including things like temperature, air quality, and UV index. It also posts publicly in the channel instead of just to me, so everyone can see it. /simple-slackyyy-botty-birthday [MM-DD] — probably the feature I’m proudest of. You save your birthday, and the bot remembers it — not in a temporary file, but in an actual SQLite database using better-sqlite3. Every day at 9 AM, it checks the database and posts a birthday shoutout for anyone whose day it is, tagging them directly in the channel. /simple-slackyyy-botty-quiz — the newest addition, letting people pick a subject, difficulty, and number of questions to test their knowledge. WHAT I LEARNED How to call external APIs and handle their responses The difference between file-based storage (JSON) and a real database (SQLite), and why the database is more reliable How scheduled tasks work (cron jobs) to make the bot do things automatically, not just respond to commands A lot of patience debugging — copy-pasting code in the wrong spot, duplicate lines, and other small mistakes that taught me to read my code more carefully before running it WHAT’S NEXT Get the bot running 24/7 instead of just on my own machine Push the whole project to GitHub Keep polishing the help command and maybe add a few more fun commands That’s it for devlog #1 — more updates soon as I keep building!"}]...

What I learned I think the thing I learned the most is how to properly parse files and how to extract information from them. I have never done anything like that before (it’s my second real project ever) and it was really interesting to learn. Yo! Started working on my own web-based OS themed entirely around Obito Uchiha. Got the base HTML, CSS, and JS boilerplate ready and started messing around with the desktop layout and styling to get that aesthetic right.
Spent today grinding out the actual functionality. Added drag-and-drop windows, a persistent top bar, real-time clock, and some slick app shortcuts. CSS styling took forever to get looking clean, but the Obito vibe is finally coming together.
Done! Finally, I made it. Cleaned up the code, pushed everything over to GitHub, and got it fully deployed live on Vercel. Added the README and double-checked all the links. Super hyped with how this turned out, check out the demo

I started with a simple idea, but while building it I ended up learning a lot about scenes, scripts, collisions, timers, character selection, level transitions, and fixing bugs. The most difficult part was making everything work together properly, especially the character selection across different levels, the locked/unlocked exits, the timer system, and the second laser level. There were so many small issues that kept coming up, and sometimes fixing one thing created another problem. I’m really proud that I kept working on it and turned the idea into a complete playable game with two levels, different challenges, restart functionality, and a proper ending. I also learned a lot about Godot during the process, and by the end I felt much more comfortable finding things and understanding how the project was structured. Title: My First Godot Game by @Zemal | Stardance
Devlogs:
Today I worked on my Godot game. I created and tested different parts of the game, fixed some problems, and learned more about how Godot works. I also improved the gameplay and made progress on the project.
Today I added a timer to my Godot game and made a proper time-up screen. I also added a restart button so the level can start again after losing. I had a few problems with button signals and node names, but I fixed them and now the game is working better.
Today I worked on Room 3 of my Godot game. I added laser hazards, a collectible key, and an exit system. The player now has to avoid the lasers, collect the key, and reach the door to complete the room. I also fixed several script and movement issues while testing the level.
I’m currently working on improving Room 3 of my game, “Out of Sync.” I added moving laser obstacles around the key to make the level more challenging, adjusted the player and collision sizes, and finished the escape flow. I also redesigned the room-complete screen with a neon theme, a glowing Continue button, and sparkle effects that appear when the player hovers over it. The level is starting to feel much more polished and complete now.
Polished the title screen and it took a lot of effort 😭 I changed the main title font, worked on the purple panels, fixed the spacing, and cleaned up the character selection and Start button. I’m really tired now, but the more the game starts looking better, the more I feel like continuing and building the next parts.
Finally got Level 1 into a proper playable state today. Added the 5-key challenge, timer, counter, locked/unlocked exit, and made the transition to the next room automatic once the level is cleared.I also cleaned up the HUD and fixed a bunch of annoying key/pickup issues along the way.It was one of those sessions where one small bug kept turning into another but seeing the full level work from start to finish was worth it. Next up: polishing the next room and making the game more challenging.
Finally finished reworking Level 2! I changed it from being too simple into a more challenging laser room. Now the player has to reach 3 switches placed around the room, avoid the moving lasers, turn them off one by one, and then unlock the exit. Also fixed the character selection so the same character you choose at the start continues into this level too. This part took a lot of testing because the laser collisions, switches, and exit kept breaking in different ways but it finally works properly now.The game is basically complete now, and I’m really happy with how much better Level 2 feels compared to before.
Finally finished the whole game Both levels are now complete and working properly. I also fixed the last few issues with the character selection, exits, and the browser version. I tested the full game from start to finish and everything is working now. This project honestly made me so tired but I learned a lot while building it. At the start I barely knew where things were in Godot, but after working on it for so long, I got much more comfortable with scenes, scripts, signals, collisions, and fixing bugs. The game is now live in the browser and the code is also on GitHub. Really happy to finally finish and ship my first Godot game :)
After I got the changes request, I went back to the game and changed a lot of the visuals.I made the new backgrounds myself in Canva and tried to keep everything in the same purple glitch theme. I also made the switches myself in Canva and changed the keys and character images so they matched the new style better.I worked on the title screen, character selection, Level 1, the laser room, the restart button, and the ending screen. I also added a moving background to the final screen. Most of the work today was fixing the parts that were mentioned in the feedback and making the game look more consistent. I still need to upload the updated version to itch.io, but the changes are now working in the game.
Finally finished the updates!!! I uploaded the new version to itch.io and tested the whole game again. Everything is working properly now, and I also changed the screenshots so they match the updated game. I recorded a quick playthrough to show how it looks now :)
Ships:
I made my first ever Godot game, Out of Sync, and honestly this project was much more challenging than I expected. You can test the full game using the Try project link. I’m really happy to finally finish and ship my first Godot game!...

I made a Backrooms-themed webOS. I started this project out with very little experience with programming, following the tutorials in the jams step by step, constantly getting stuck at now obvious errors. I’m really proud of how this project turned out since I only spent ~2 weeks making it and its turned out just as i had envisioned. When I was researching for an idea I found out that the computers in the backrooms have their own OS called BackOS, so I wanted to make my own rendition of that. I decided to add a bit of lore to the project too. My idea was that you find yourself trapped in the backrooms and find this specific computer with messages from a previous explorer which you can use to find out the password for the padlock app and find out what’s hidden. The OS has 7 apps- notes, photos, terminal, tapes, settings, desmiler(minesweeper), and a padlock app. The notes app has messages from a previous strandee. The photos app has a gallery of imagery from different parts of the backrooms. The terminal can be used to run a few commands and the tapes app acts like a cassette player you can listen to 6 different songs on. The settings app allows you to, for example, change the wallpaper. The desmiler app is similar to minesweeper but the mines are replaced by smilers (entities present in the backrooms). Finally, the padlock app is for you to investigate. WebOS (name-tbd) This is my first coding project ever so i hope it can become something cool… tbh setting up all of the programs was more difficult than actually writing the code (so far).
Hi I decided on a theme for my webOS Its gonna be backrooms related. I did some research and apparently theres actually an OS in the lore called BackOS thats found on the computers in the backrooms so that fits in pretty neatly. I studied from lesson 2, made it a bit less ugly(still not pretty tho), and introduced some javascript in the code.
okay I know it doesnt seem like alot considering i worked for nearly 4 hours but tbf i spent an entire hour wondering why my js wouldnt work n eventually give up and use ai just to discover i was supposed to place <script src="script.js"></script> at the end of my html body and not at the very beginning anyways i added a cool movable window from lesson 3 n made the ui a bit prettier Also im guessing time doesnt work in the backrooms so ill have to do something differently with the clock in the top right
I finished part 4 of the jam and added a notes app. you cant really type notes into it right now (you can just read them) but i wanna make it possible. i also combined some of the functions that were common between the welcome window and the notes app(like closing and opening). i based the notes app off of file explorer cuz i liked the manilla folder tab vibes and i think it goes well with the overall backrooms aesthetic. its still rlly ugly tho so i gotta beautify it too. i used ai to help make the scrambleText function(it makes the note dates and the clock glitch randomly) and explain how if/else and loops work. I also used it to explain certain parts of the jam i didnt understand. i gotta fix the bug where the window gets trapped in the top bar if you pull it up too far as well
i made the notes app actually functional. you can type in stuff and it keeps what you typed when you switch tabs. theres a + button to add notes and a - button to delete a tab. the tab youre on also gets highlighted and if theres too many tabs they shrink and go sideways. i also wrote a small journal from someone who found the computer before you, so theres a bit more lore. the image in the welcome window is now a slideshow of different backrooms levels too. this time i mostly wrote the code myself and used ai for hints when i got stuck. It did give me some code directly like some css fixes i still have to fix the window getting trapped in the top bar and finish the 5th jam
Devlog #6 Hi! i finally did the 5th jam and i have a few more app ideas, one of which is this keypad app. basically i think im gonna leave hints around the apps for the password and itll lead you to something interesting i dont wanna reveal rn. its functional n the passowrd is 1234 for anyone wondering (ill change it later ofc) apart from that i cleaned up the js n made some functions that i can reuse for other apps. i also split up the main js file into a bunch of smaller files. idk if thats what programmers normally do but yeah. i found organizing my code to be really relaxing. i also fixed the bug where windows would get stuck at the top bar. im pretty proud of myself cuz i managed to do all of ts in <3hrs. in terms of vibecoding the only part i did use ai in was for the loading animation for when you enter the right password.
devlog #7 helloo i added a cool boot up animation which you can skip by clicking anywhere notes can now be saved as well i also added a photo gallery app which i tried to style like a film contact sheet with 12 pics each with their own descriptions and also fixed how clicking a new icon wouldnt deselect the old one and made some edits to the keypads display
devlog #8 hi guys i made this cassette app you can listen to songs on (6 tracks from the caretaker-everywhere at the end of time). the reels move using keyframes which is pretty cool imo. i dont really have much else to say apart from how it was rlly annoying to get the audio files into vscode cuz onedrive wouldnt let me for some reason. i used ai to teach me how keyframes work for this one
devlog #9 heloo i made 2 apps, a terminal window for running 7 different commands as well as a settings app where you can choose one of 3 wallpapers, reset the os, change the brightness and some other stuff too. i also used keyframes again to animate the first and third wallpaper while the second one is a video. i spent most of the time just trynna fix bugs with the wallpapers keyframes and deciding whats next for the project. i think the next app ill make is a game so that should be fun to do. also i realized the apps on the left arent aligned so ill have to fix that too. i was thinking about moving them somewhere else anyway. also ill try to find some better icons for the terminal and notes app cuz theyre really sticking out like a sore thumb rn
devlog #10 hi i made a game. its just minesweeper but with smilers instead of mines(smilers are backrooms monsters/entities). it works almost exactly like minesweeper. the only difference is that sometimes you might lose on the first click but its 3am and im too tired to worry about it. i also changed the icons of all of the apps.now i just have to make them not look ugly in their arrangement and finish the keypad app. when making the game i did use ai for help explain the logic n maths behind minesweeper (not how its played but how u actually calculate stuff bts). ok byebye
Devlog #11 Helo This will be my final devlog for this project :D. i aligned all of the apps to the left of the sceen, finished making the minesweeper game, left clues around the OS for the keypad app, added whats revealed after the entering the right password into the keypad app, and also wrote the README

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy! https://rnav09.github.io/BackOS/...

What Are You Proud Of? Being able to conceptualize, code, and ship a completely personalized operating system live onto the internet is a massive achievement. What Should People Know When Testing? When testing Ridith OS, keep these things in mind: You can click and drag any window header around the screen just like a real operating system. Click the desktop app icon to launch the notes application, and use the sidebar items to switch between notes. The top bar features a live clock showing real time updates, and windows will automatically stack on top of each other when clicked. Technical Architecture Ridith OS is structured around two primary code files: index .html: Contains the core DOM structure, including the desktop layout container, the top status bar, desktop app shortcut wrappers, and the modular window templates for both the welcome prompt and the notes application.script.js: Manages all dynamic behaviors. This includes the real time clock interval loop, the physics engine for mouse dragging windows, window layering and focus management, and the JavaScript array iteration used to dynamically populate the notes sidebar content. This includes the real time clock interval loop, the physics engine for mouse dragging windows, window layering and focus management, and the JavaScript array iteration used to dynamically populate the notes sidebar content. Getting Started Locally To run or modify this project on your local machine or through a cloud development environment, follow these steps: Clone or download the repository to your local computer. Open the project folder inside any code editor such as Visual Studio Code or GitHub Codespaces. Open the index.html file in any modern web browser or deploy the repository using GitHub Pages to run it live on the web. Future Development Plans Future updates and additions planned for the platform include additional desktop utilities, persistent local storage support for user notes, custom theme selection, and expanded interactive applications...

Now when you type a query and hit Go, the app makes an API call to SerpApi’s Google engine, parses the JSON response, and renders the top 5 organic results directly on the page — each with a clickable title and snippet preview. A close button dismisses the results panel. The entire search flow happens without leaving the page. To bypass CORS restrictions, I set up a Vite dev proxy in vite.config.js that routes /search.json requests through to serpapi.com, so the browser treats it as a same-origin request. The API key is stored in .env as VITE_SERPAPI_KEY. NASA APOD Background Fix The APOD integration existed but was completely broken — the background was pure black. I traced this to three issues: the code was loading the full-res hdurl (tens of megabytes, 40+ seconds to download) instead of the optimized 1024px web version; NASA’s servers were rejecting requests because the browser sent a Referer header from localhost; and there was zero fallback if the image failed. I fixed all three — prioritized the smaller d.url, added a no-referrer meta tag to index.html, and built a proper loading chain using Image() preloading with onload/onerror handlers that tries the web image first, falls back to hdurl, then to a local hero.png asset. The .bg element now starts with a cosmic radial gradient so the page always looks like space, even if every image source fails. I also busted the localStorage cache so stale data doesn’t persist. UI Redesign Rewrote styles.css almost entirely. The search panel now uses glassmorphism — backdrop-filter blur, translucent rgba backgrounds, subtle borders, and deep box shadows. The info panel opens with a bouncy cubic-bezier scale transition. The clock is 64px extra-bold with text-shadow depth. Quick links have hover states with fading borders. (Raven_Slack_Bot_v1.0.0) Raven is a little clever Slack bot who responses upto 5 commands. It’s my first ever slack bot so its not much good but its working and i love it. Main features /raven-ping - Check bot latency /raven-joke - Get a joke /raven-quote - Get a quote /raven-fact - Get a fact /rave-fox - Get a fox I added the fox command because its cute and funny, and also because of the story of the crow and the fox, I know raven is not a crow its just for fun. Difficulty The most difficult part was to diploy it on nest that i was not having so first i apply for it and after i got my nest server i dont know what to do because i was unable to understand it. i have never used linux before, so after experimenting and researching hours i deploy it to linux. How to Run/Test It To know that how to run and test it go to my Repo below and read its README: https://github.com/aridev24/Raven-Slack-Bot...

It’s not a theme slapped on Chrome’s defaults. Every surface — the glass panels, the background rays and particles, the hero type, the dock behavior — was hand-built and borrowed spirit from JARVIS-style interfaces, then wired into something that actually feels like my dashboard. Live: https://anonymouscoderartist.github.io/custom-new-tab/ What was challenging The map fights you back. World Monitor blocks being iframed, so I had to fetch their HTML client-side, inject a tag, rewrite root-relative assets, and smuggle it in via srcdoc — with a graceful fallback when that fails. Neighbor magnify is fiddly CSS. Getting ±1 and ±2 dock icons to scale in a wave (1.35 / 1.18 / 1.08) without clipping or fighting the scroll container took real iteration — :has(), padding reserves, mobile overrides. The search bar went through an identity crisis. Square? Too tall. Bottom-anchored? Not JARVIS enough. Final answer: centered at 54%, pill-sized, chips tucked inside the orb directly under the input. Deploy trust. Every push means polling GitHub Pages until the build is genuinely built and the live bytes match local — CDN caches love to lie to you for a minute. What I’m proud of Honestly? The details that don’t announce themselves: Hover the dock and watch the ripple of scale — it feels alive. The Super Menu has no tacky white sheen; the title still shimmers. Fonts are fully local — nothing phones home. It ships with a real default dashboard URL, not a placeholder. State lives in localStorage only. Your todos and notes never leave the browser. I didn’t just assemble widgets. I made a UI with a point of view. How to test it (please do) Open it: https://anonymouscoderartist.github.io/custom-new-tab/ — or locally: npm run dev → http://localhost:3000 Watch the greeting — reload at different times of day; it changes. Search bar — dead center. Type and hit Enter (Google by default). Change the engine in Super Menu → Search. Dock hover test — mouse across the shortcut icons. Nearest neighbors should scale up in a wave. Click × to delete one, add your own from Super Menu. Super Menu (top right) — poke everything: clock, weather, todos, notes, theme dots (bottom-right: blue/purple/mixed/minimal), wallpaper on/off, JARVIS effects toggle, custom dashboard URL. Map chip — hit Show Map. Should load the exact World Monitor view (conflicts, sanctions, weather, satellites, the works). If it ever blanks, you’ll see a fallback instead of a dead frame. Wallpaper — flip through live anime videos and photo presets; try it with effects off for a clean, quiet version.
