Got Started On CSS
FINALLY, Finished!
Had to Redo the CSS, cuz it was flagged as AI. This time I DID NOT use a AI for anything (except for searching how to center a div)
I finished redoing the CSS!
Y r my projects always flagged as AI, I didn’t use it
I WILL CRASH OUT, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LOWER AI USAGE IF I DIDN’T USE IT ALL. I am literally crying, I wish AI never existed, i took literally 11 hours to do this and I am still being accused of AI, like literally check the code, it is so messed up, there are DIVs everywhere, and random class names cuz I couldn’t make them up.

Devlogs:
Started new project. Just finished linking my repository to VS JavaScript and CSS. <3
Finished setting up environment variables for NASA API and secured sensitive keys using GitHub secrets. Also resolved a GitHub Actions build failure caused by placing my directory under the wrong folder. Also fixed a syntax error in vite.config.js . Learned so much by fixing my mistakes. Finally published the app to GitHub pages!!!
Today, I fetched live space data using custom API requests for my NASA APOD web. I also built smart media logic that automatically detects images YouTube embeds, or video players. To keep the app smooth and reliable, I added safe loading states and a catch-block for error handling. I debugged JavaScript syntax issues as well. Finally, I completed almost all the steps of the guide and I am satisfied by my progress. <3
Today built a responsive dark-mode layout with smooth flexbox centering. Added custom zig-zag side borders using CSS pseudo-elements. Styled typography using Google Fonts ( Oswald and Black Ops One ). Used @media queries to hide side accents on mobile screens. Although having fun, the progress is so slow .
Redesigned the UI with twinkling CSS stars and neon space elements. Formatted theme colors and input controls to match the cosmic dark look. Fixed index.html font imports and CSS pathing for VITE compatibility. Added DEMO-KEY fallback for live NASA APOD fetches on GitHub Pages. This alone took almost 1 hours and the basic site isn’t even working properly, still got a long way to go . P.S can’t find the emojis so upside down smiley face at the end.
Cosmic Lens is LIVE! And… we’re done! 🚀 Today I gave Cosmic Lens its final touches, cleaned up the project, added the README, pushed everything to GitHub, and made sure the live deployment was working properly. The best part? The site is actually LIVE now! I also tested the date picker and Random NASA Image feature one last time, and everything is working as it should. From debugging API issues to fighting with Git and deployment 😭, this project definitely had its moments — but seeing it running online makes it all worth it. 🔗 Live: https://wizard21-sudo.github.io/cosmic-lens/ I’m officially calling it SHIPPED! 🚀 Keep looking up. 🌠
Added a custom greetings popup to give Cosmic Lens a warm, personal touch! Fixed a CSS bug where the popup styling was trapped inside a mobile media query. I also resolved a JavaScript selector typo and removed it from JavaScript so the popup only depended on index.HTML so the close button works smoothly. Also cleaned up robotic AI comments and removed divider lines from the code. Finally ready to reship with a personalized README and an authentic codebase!
Today I fixed the audio and non-YouTube videos which were glitching out because my conditional logic lumped them together incorrectly. Fixed it by cleaning up the tags, swapping the colon, and splitting videos into their own separate condition. Booted it up on localhost and everything is finally rendering clean cards and working media links. Hope this is the final ship for this project. 💫
Spent today polishing up the stylesheet to ensure the starry background animation and button hover effects render smoothly. Fixed a couple of small typos in the CSS properties that were stopping image scaling from working properly. Switched over to main.js to track down a trick variable capitalization bug that broke the random date generator. Cleaned up the API fetch logic to handle 404 errors gracefully without crashing the UI. Finally tested everything locally and pushed the clean code to GitHub Pages.
Worked on the API integration today so it handles both new and old space data smoothly. Ran into a weird bug where older dates kept showing random NASA logo placeholders instead of actual pictures. Added some validation logic to catch those placeholders before they break the image tags. Set up clean fallback links too, so if a record doesn’t have a direct image file, it just sends you straight to the original NASA page.
Ships:
I built Cosmic Lens, a custom space picture viewer using vanilla JavaScript and VITE that fetches data directly from NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) API. The most challenging part was managing dynamic API fetching, handling edge cases like YouTube video embeds versus regular image renders, and resolving scope bugs with the date selector variable. I’m most proud of designing the space-themed UI with custom CSS stars and smooth interactive controls. To test it, open the live link and select any past date from the date picker to load that day’s official NASA space photo with explanation! If you can’t think of a date , use the random button and have fun !!!...

I created the player, the “attacks”, and the overall UI (not really what I would call beautiful but at least that’s something) skeleton joke of the day (just thought it would be funny): why isn’t the skeleton here? Because it is BONE! (gone)
I added the logic that allows the program to generate random attack patterns. I just have to make more attacks and make it so you are able to customize the levels.
I have just finished some attacks like the one in the screenshot as well as the ability to create custom levels by modifying the code. I have calculated the minimum time it takes to die in the game is around 1.5 seconds.
I added the main selling point of the game: the level loader. Now, people will be able to create and share levels for the game.
This is the last devlog before ship. I have fixed a lot of bugs, added the possibility to make custom levels, and even made some levels for you :). All the work is published on github, and I hope you’ll like it! cheers !

I finally updated my website i had a stinky old website for over a year that I really really hated, so I’m glad that I finally got a new website up and running. the main setback for hosting this new site was that I didn’t want to go through the effort of hosting the site on GitHub Pages, just to immediately switch to a self hosted solution (which it now uses), so I had to hold off for a bit. I made the website about 3-4 months ago, had to wait about a month and a half to get a VPS to publish it on, and I’ve been consistently updating it since then! I probably spent about 7-10 hours in total on this website, over the course of the last 3-4 months.

Devlogs:
Scaffolded whole project based, backend only, created github repo, going to sort out hosting and check out the guide for the frontend-going to make a canvas OS for artists!
basic frontend is up! worked on it now, ai scaffolded and i went over with what the guide said
Changed the project: ipone OS, in the web! (only screensaver as it is, plis heart 📱👍)
this clock is sick, managed to get hold of the sf pro font, used liquid glass components from liqui glass and some other random repo, image in background is ai generated but is still insane
homescreen/landing page is up-it looks 👌i’ll admit that the background is an ai made JPG file but it looks good for my iPhone in the Web-iWebOS sadly i have spend ages making this (3 hours) and i have no OS and no backend but i’ll get there hopefuly
ok i have finalised the homescreen with some touches, now with 7 rotating backgrounds, now i need to make the os! also the login screen although it doesnt do anything yet, still have to wire it up
ok we have the start of an OS over here still no backend or wiring but the project is looking nice and neat-these tabs are just static and dont do anything, I copied and pasted the logos into the folder, now we have to see about some sort of file explorer next
ok guys the iPhone in the web now has two movable tabs-background chooser and credits (doesn’t do anything, background chooser somehow works) am not fully happy with the design so might spend more time over it, let me see 👍👍
iPhone in the Web, iWebOS update: ok i have cleaned up the folder explorer, notepad (uses md) all apps at the moment are re-using the same components so once i had the file explorer the rest was easy
made it look so much more like an iphone the iphone in the web is looking good although i still need some more bits and pieces to finish with, not so far off!
iPhone in the web i added some fake status (battery and wifi and signal), and the island which i only now noticed iphones 📱have, and the search which i haven’t wired up yet, also brightness slider which uses black overlay to not glitch out the liquid glass
okay guys the iPhone in the web is looking quite sick if i say so my self i have fixed a load of bugs: when i made the iphone animation of tabs springing up if you know what i mean, then also added an animation for the tabs at the bottom, also now the calculator actually works, i have to see now about getting a browser in there let me take a look until next time! #️⃣📱IphoneInTheWeb
ok i think i am going to ship, so this will be a final devlog, but guys if you see any way i can improve, please comment and i will fix! #iPhoneInTheWeb📱📱👍 for all you nerds you want to know what i did for these six hours i made the lock screen unlock normaly, i added three more backgrounds and a button to rotate backgrounds, a clock in the top right corner, the credits panel which is terrible, and in the folder app a new add note button which took donkeys to make, and now the light mode is so much better
Ships:
iPhone in the web-an OS that looks as close to an iPhone as i could get it, keep in mind i don’t have an iPhone...

What is in it? All instructions the original CHIP-8 architecture supported Graphical output to the terminal using (my beloved) ncurses Loading .ch8 roms Error handling with stderr What am I proud of? I am really proud of the optimizations i did for the project after pretty much finishing it. I am also proud of the way i implemented the keyboard (which was really hard) and the way it turned out. I am also proud of the error handling because it helped me level up in my overall knowledge in knowing how to handle errors. How is it built? It’s built in C using ncurses, following the suckless philosophy (optimized and only one source file) and most of the suckless style guide. There is a precompiled binary that was built with GitHub workflows using Ubuntu. The binary can be directly downloaded from the repo’s release page and can be used on (most) glibc-based Linux distros (build is compiled for Ubuntu and ncurses-v6 has to be installed on your system, original project was made with NixOS, which will also work). What I learned I learned how CPU’s operate (fetch, decode, execute), i learned about opcodes and parsing and i learned using bitwise operators effectively. It also taught me the importance of hexadecimal in programming. The project overall brought me closer to CompEng and how CPU’s work on a rudimentary level. It also taught me (as said) how to handle errors better and i think because of trying to make the project as suckless as possible the project also made me an overall better programmer. Known limitations / plans for the future Bugs can occur, even though no error that isn’t being handled by the program itself has been recorded. Still look out for bugs and if any are found write it to me as feedback please. As this project is a full emulator for CHIP-8 there isn’t that much to be done anymore which i am really proud of :) Closing word This project was pretty fun to make and it taught me a bunch. It is also my final project for Stardance which is a bit sad but i don’t/didn’t have enough time to start a new project which is why i will stop with this. Still i loved Stardance and it brought me closer to CE/SE than i would ever think i would get (before hearing of Stardance i wasn’t really fond of coding). I think making it suckless majorly improved the program KEYBOARD REWORK Because i decided i wanted to make the project basically suckless i have decided that i needed to rework the keyboard functions. I replaced the keyboard struct with long long keyboard[16]. The index is now the key and the value is the value that key_pressed compares against when the instrcutions are called. key_pressed returns (now - keypad[k]) < ACCEPTABLE_DISTANCE which made the logic way smaller and easier to read. I also replaced the ~ 60 lines key switch statement with a single array that has all the characters of the Chip-8 keyboard and compares it using strchr with the input ch and the difference between the return value of strchr and the positon of keyboard[0] is the index which the current time is written into DIE FUNCTION I added a die function that replaces all early exit functions that would kill the entire program. It gets an input string and other parameters (like printf would get) and print it to stderr. It does this by using varargs. If initscr() has been called it also does endwin() and if not it doesnt (a bool is turned to true after initscr() has been called). Because of this read_rom is now void because every error path calls die instead of returning false. fopen also calls strerror if it fails to display WHY fopen has failed TERMINAL INPUT Previously rom names were hardcoded into the program and had to be changed and recompiled if i wanted to change them. Now the program takes in multiple arguments (2 in total, more or less results in an error after which the proper usage is displayed) and the rom (if found) is copied and executed which makes testing multiple programs way easier. MACROS I removed magic number and replaced them with macros to make the code more readable and theoretically modifiable. README I added a README in the repo that explains pretty much everything that you would need to know before using the program"}, {"post_id": 78821, "ts": "2026-10-11T18:06:34Z", "hours": 2.0475, "text": "LOG 4: KEYBOARD IS FINALLY FUNCTIONAL FOR (hopefully) ALL INSTRUCTIONS!!!! (and some bug fixes) After a long battle with the code i finally figured out how to implement the keyboard without the keys only being picked up every once in a while. HOW DID I DO IT? Previously the keyboard was simple a bool array and if i a button was pressed the corresponding part of the keypad array was turned true. The issue with that was that with this simple implementation there had to be one of 2 mandatory pay-offs: Case A would be that the keys would be sticky and never get turned false, Case B would be that they get reset on every iteration of the main loop which is too fast for instructions 0x9E and 0xA1 in certain programs, as they need the value for multiple iterations. Simply holding down the key was actually too slow because of the way holding down a key works on linux which is why i had to do the following implmentation: Step A: Get the current pressed button, turn it to true and save the time the button was pressed Step B: Get the time distance between when the button was pressed and the current time . Loop through the keyboard array and check for keys that are true If a key is true and if the time distance is larger/equal than/to the threshold (50 ms), turn that key false. Following from this if the distance is smaller or equal to the acceptable distance the key stays true and the loop can work with it. BUG FIXES ISSUE WITH INSTRUCTION 0x8xy6 and 0x8xyE Previously 0x8xy6 and 0x8xyE bitshifted chip.v_reg[x] either « 1 or » 1 which i found out was false after rereading the docs because a test code wasnt working properly. The fix was just to implement the correct instruction (chip.v_reg[x] = chip.v_reg[y] « 1 or the same using » 1)"}, {"post_id": 77934, "ts": "2026-10-08T20:43:38Z", "hours": 3.5236, "text": "LOG 3: ROM LOADER, GRAPHICS ENGINE, KEYBOARD, FONTSET, TEST CODE FOREWORD FEATURES I kinda didnt click post on my last devlog which is why this is a combination of two devlogs but ig this has to suffice ROM LOADER I implemented a rom loader that opens and copies roms (.ch8 files) and then executes their instructions when the program runs. The rom reader opens the file with fopen and reads them into memory using fread once. GRAPHICS ENGINE I use my (beloved) ncurses for graphics and a function is called every cycle to print out the graphics on the 64x32 screen using either # for spots where the graphic display is true and ’ ’ for spots where it isnt KEYBOARD The keyboard uses getch that doesnt stop the loop but rather just listens for input and then sets the keyboard value of the pressed button to true FONTSET The fontset is pretty basic (its just an array of the standard chip-8 fontset that gets loaded into the memory array starting from 0x50) TEST CODE Ive written some very basic test code for testing purposes. Current functions are printing to the screen, setting variables and printing when a button is pressed. Im very unsure which direction i want to go right now but i find the idea really interesting which is why i just started doing it. I hope the project will give me a better insight into how cpus and computers work in general CURRENT FEATURES Currently the CPU can add values to and jump between register and finally terminate itself. The values that are added/subtracted are set before compilation.
LOG 2: KNOWING WHAT TO DO, IMPLEMENTED ALL INSTRUCTIONS WHAT KIND OF CPU AM I BUILDING? I am building a CHIP-8 CPU emulator in C based on the specifications at http://devernay.free.fr/hacks/chip8/C8TECH10.HTM . CURRENT FEATURES Currently i have implemented all of the regular CHIP-8 instructions that are listed on the source website. They are detected by checking for the specific flags and then execute code based on their variables. Currently the CPU cannot take instructions (will be implemented next probably)
LOG 3: ROM LOADER, GRAPHICS ENGINE, KEYBOARD, FONTSET, TEST CODE FOREWORD FEATURES I kinda didnt click post on my last devlog which is why this is a combination of two devlogs but ig this has to suffice ROM LOADER I implemented a rom loader that opens and copies roms (.ch8 files) and then executes their instructions when the program runs. I coded the code in hex and used hexed.it to convert the hex code into .ch8 files BUG FIXES Luckily there where no major bugs previously in the code (there wasnt that much to be buggy) but obviously there where issues on the way to the current code. Because i dont remember everything i fixed on the way i wont list it in todays devlog (overall i just list bugs if they where in a previious commited/devlogged version)
LOG 4: KEYBOARD IS FINALLY FUNCTIONAL FOR (hopefully) ALL INSTRUCTIONS!!!! The fix was just to implement the correct instruction (chip.v_reg[x] = chip.v_reg[y] « 1 or the same using » 1)
LOG 5: LAST LOG BEFORE SHIP, MADE THE PROJECT MOSTLY SUCKLESS, REWORKED KEYBOARD, ADDED A DIE FUNCTION, ROMS ARE NOW LOADED VIA TERMINAL, ADDED MACROS, ADDED README FEATURES “SUCKLESS” I made the program (i think) as much compliant to the suckless philosophy as i can and did most of (not all of) the stylistic choices mentioned in the suckless style guide. README I added a README in the repo that explains pretty much everything that you would need to know before using the program
Ships:
A suckless complete CHIP-8 emulator written in C! To anyone reading this whole thing: Love y’all :)))...

Today, I finished the more projects page, chose the final colour scheme and ajusted the css to fit, I polished the home page while adding featured and current projects and adding some of my coding certificates to it. overall a good day coding.
This morning, I have added a custom 404 error page, I have done the final polish, and I have made sure everything matches the final colour scheme, and now about to ship it, thanks!
added Readme as the reviewer requested (kinda forgot ngl)

I am working on my personal website. I have a lot of ideas that I can’t wait to try out =D
Devlog 2: I edited the html part since the previous log was just me following the guide. I’m thinking of adding memes (not definite)
Devlog 3: I added more info (stuff about me, hobbies, projects), features (images, videos, nav bar) and I added a picture as the background.
Devlog 4: I removed the “style” attribute from html and made it css instead. I also made the videos into clickable links.
I added a typewriter-style animation to give my site a hacker-ish vibe. I also put a scrollbar and tried to make the site more aesthetically pleasing.
I’m starting to work on version 2 of my personal website. I researched on how to add a parallax effect and now I’m trying it out.
Devlog #7: i searched up on different kinds of animations I can add like kinds of cursors. I also added the parallax feature =D
Devlog #8:I made the boxes translucent and I made the line underneath the heading multiple colours.
Devlog #9: I changed h1 and the nav bar to match the theme of the others. I changed the bg too!
Devlog #10: I added a banner…I think I should change the font colour.
Devlog #11: I decided to add separate pages for Home, Projects, etc. instead of keeping them as sections on the same page. I changed the cursor too!
Devlog #12: I added a new page for entertainment instead of keeping it as a section in the homepage.
Devlog #13: I’m trying to add another parallax effect where the pictures move with the cursor
Devlog #14: I’m still trying to get the picture-moving-parallax effect..working on JS part now.
Devlog #14: I added shimmering stars
Devlog #16: debugged errors and added more animations
Devlog #17: I debugged some code then added the picture files in the same folder. I still need to change their name tho
Devlog #18: the parallax effect on the pictures is finally workinggg!!
Devlog #19: I added a new feature where if you click on one of the pictures, it will open it but without opening a new tab.
Devlog #20: I added a progress bar!
Devlog #21: I added a light/dark mode. I’m thinking of putting a bg for it tho.
Devlog #22: I made a sparkle click option!!
develop #23: More debugging, turns out my code wasn’t even in the body =/
Devlog #24: I added the features that were on the homepage onto the other pages as well. I debugged too.

For my very first Stardance project I created my own personal website. It consists of 3 sections: About me, Projects and Entertainment. I’m planning on updating it to make it look better and eventually add more projects to it. Writing the html code for this was pretty simple for me since I have learnt it before but what was challenging for me was the CSS code, especially researching on how to animate text to look like it was being typed (luckily I found out how eventually). To everyone checking out my site, you gotta see the entertainment section, it will not disappoint! I am excited to launch my first live site on the internet!...

You know spotify and all music apps are paid these days and network issues when u are using the free version not to mention the ads also so I thought why not make something using which I can listen music. Oh I made it a mp3 player which supports pendrive and sd cards upto 128gb. There are lot of issues I faced first designing the pcb then hectic part was making the project files from kicad the drc and stuff. Now I got my funding and I ordered the parts got it built the project but while building the project I faced an issue with my case design I didn’t account for the space of battery and the 2 switches there was space only for 1 switch , the snap lid wasn’t fitting because I gave gap but forgot that when plastic cools it shrinks so I should have gave a bit more thickness gap so it fitted so I made it temporarily work by adding double tape to top lid to stick to the main case body . The next issue was that the usb sockets space I left wasn’t enough height wise so to solve that I used soldering iron to make some space by melting the case but I didn’t destroy it I used my fine hands to shape the case front side sockets using soldering iron to make space so that I can plug in my pendrive and earphones . Then I spent about nearly 30mins sanding the outer surface because it was uneven now due to soldering the plastic came a bit outwards also so I sanded extra part made it smooth then I soldered the components and fitted them all in the case and yeah it works great. Mp3 player works for both sd card and pendrive upto 128gb finished the pcb designing now case design remains
I finished designed the case for my mp3 player and then I worked on my repo by finishing the BOM and uploading all the files case pcb assets screenshots all work done for mp3 excited to get funded and make this dream come true irl in hardware
Now finally I referred to the repo of orhpeuspad by Qcoral then I used it to understand how to make a proper well aligned structured repo . Then I made a few small changes to the case of my device add some text and making an hole in the top lid of case. Finally finished cleanly with the repo with proper details BOM and the files with structures.
Spent a few hours changing the repo only to realize at end that wait the case design is totally off and the upper lid alignments needs to be changed also the text orientation how it will look when we snap the lid close . Spent a few mins then fixing the case issue then made few small additions to the repo also .
So finally the project came alive to life thanks to Hackclub Stardance that they funded me i spent around 2-3hrs soldering the joints and checking functions. Just 2 mistakes I made was with my case alignment and fitting as the snap lid was a bit off so I used double tape to stick it to the main body and then the sockets ports size was a bit off so had to use my soldering iron to make some space but in a way that the structure looks good from outside then spent sanding the surface from outside due to the roughness caused by soldering iron and the off shape then after abt 30mins of sanding it went smooth and nice now all good and the project finally works audio is audible clearly. Thanks Hackclub once again for helping me to bring my project to life.

So Hi all I have made an mp3 player. Thanks to Hackclub and Stardance for helping me bring my project to life....

I made a beta version of my own 2D fantasy adventure game. I worked on the environments, different pathways, backgrounds, level design, characters and other parts of the game. I tried to make it feel like a real adventure game, where the player can explore different places and face enemies. It is not perfect right now, but I made it with a lot of effort and time. What was challenging? The most challenging part for me was making the pathways and designing the levels. I struggled a lot to get the terrain and backgrounds looking the way I wanted. Sometimes things didn’t work as I expected, and I had to try again and again. Connecting the different parts of the game and fixing enemy attack and behaviour errors was also difficult for me. What are you proud of? I am proud that I didn’t give up even when things were not working properly. I spent a lot of time preparing the different parts of the game and trying to make everything work together. I used AI only for help with fixing some hostile mob behaviour and attack errors, and for converting some images to match the game’s art theme. I wanted to do the main work and understand what I was making instead of just getting the whole game generated. What should people know before trying my project? This is only the beta version, so there are still some flaws and things that need more work. I already know about many of them, and I have plans to improve them in the next updates. For now, I wanted to finish a playable version and share what I have made instead of waiting forever for everything to become perfect. I am going to work on better level design, more improvements and fixing the remaining issues in future updates. Please try my project and share your feedback. And keep an eye on my profile, because I will be working on improving the game in the next updates!...
