Devlogs:
Imported the project, improved the readme, and added a new command
Added more commands and planned out a way to show images, but still in the terminal!
Finished linkscan command, which displays a list of all links at a chosen URL, this also lays some groundwork for adding images later as images are stored at source urls
So that I at least have something to add, I worked (I think mostly on, I can’t remember what I had by my last devlog) on bug fixes and formatting. New features should be up next
Images command is added so now images from a site can be viewed! It prints them in text characters, example below of Linux penguin.
Image/Images commands are actually working now! (Image more than images) example below with Hackclub logo:
Every good browser needs a game, so I added a simple game in based off of one of my first ever coding projects! Control * with arrow keys to avoid !
Working web demo now available, press run and wait for it to load: https://codehs.com/sandbox/yellowotter2314/browser/run
New release version 1.0.1 with bug fixes and small improvements
Small feature, the browser can now download files! This includes images, text, installers, or whatever!
Search engine now exists and works! It uses duckduckgo in order to search the web and provide links to whatever you may need! It does often cut off or stop working though due to being detected as bot traffic so I need to fix that.
Small change but bot traffic was fixed, full search results work now
Nothing much, just some small formatting and the browser demo at https://codehs.com/sandbox/yellowotter2314/browser/run has been updated. Thinking I may ship my project
Ships:
Gluon Browser is now fully available with the release of version 1.1.0! It is a command line browser which can read websites and search the web through DuckDuckGo. It has many features, such as tabs, saving pages, and downloading files!...

Try it out: Official Page Overview Why does DQM exist? You may ask, why does DQM exist? The short answer is, accuracy and speed. I was tired of seeing people using AI for the most trivial things — “How hot is the sun? How deep is the sea?”, these are in fact very simple questions and there should’ve been a better alternative. Sure, search engines exist for a reason but many people have stopped using them and moved over to AI — Search engines themselves are starting to implement AI heavily into them. I was tired of it providing wrong answers and making-up stuff that are simply – not real. So now, we have DQM . Our guarantees We guarantee zero-hallucinations, fully predictable, and absolute offline capability. But any community-made brains are not guarenteed these qualities — as they will turn out to be the brain developers’ fault. How it works Step 1 — Normalisation : Lowercases, expands slang/contractions, removes repeated characters that serve no purpose, strips punctuation, and normalises delimiters. Step 2 — Trie Traversal : Splits the normalised queries into tokens and walks through the dictionary nodes. I completed the game introduction that loads when the user first loads the game, so they will know how to play it. The questionGenerator method is quite a challenge because I’d need to ensure there are the correct number of values. One too few, there might be an awkward plus on the end. One too many, it looks like a 1259 when it is supposed to be 12 and 59 (or even 1 and 259, for that matter). I had to pay special attention to ensure there are no off-by-one errors. In the future, I would need to work on a method that evaluates whether the user entered a valid formula. I feel that would be hard because converting Strings to operations will be difficult, but I’m thinking of a solution that scans each character of the answer and conduct operations accordingly.
Today, I finished the questionGenerator() method, and now I am on my way to make the answerVerify() method which checks if the answer the user entered is valid and correct. But even right now, this game is starting to have a lot of lines (it’s one of the most I wrote for a single project), and personally I find it hard to keep track of what it does. I feel that that would become a genuine struggle when I test the game in the future. There would be simply too many lines to correctly pinpoint the problem. Devlogs:
Desktop Pet Devlog 1 Created base sprite Adding following the cursor (tho it is broken) mouse position does not equal window position in measure or something so when my mouse gets to the edge of the screen, the window is still towards the middle.
Desktop Pet Devlog 2 Added cursor changes/system Removed movement I got rid of the movement of the pet because I want to do some other system instead. I want to make it so you can click and drag them. I coded a simple version of this with only the cursor changing but then the mouse would jitter on the edges of the area you could grab so I had to write a little more complicated code to fix this. Next update I plan to add the grab and drag feature!
Desktop Pet Devlog 3 Added dragging This was way hard than expected. I spent a while figuring out the equation to make the window to go to the mouse cursor, since the mouse cursor’s position was relative to the window. Eventually I figured that out, but then I had to figure out the cursor type because that broke in the process too. I got it all fixed tho! Hopefully I can start adding some better art next devlog.
Desktop Pet Devlog 4 Added petting/meowing w/ a counter Added new art I didn’t have much trouble implenting this. The main hurdle was just distinguishing when I was petting the cat and when I was grabbing it. I decided to game-ify it a little with the counter.
Desktop Pet Devlog 5: Release!!! Added fade out to pet counter Made the README Released the project I forgot how tweening worked so I had to reference the code from another project I made It was pretty easy with the reference tho. I also worked on exporting the project since I’m about done. README wasn’t too complicated to add, I just did what I’ve done before.

Desktop Pet Ship! Download here: Itch Github Github Repo I have an OC named Orion who is a cat so I thought it’d be fun to make a desktop pet of them for this ysws! Orion is 15 year old cat. She is very sweet, but is often stressed out by something. She likes thunder, winter, and tea, and thinks that white isn’t a color. Working with moving the window was a huge challenge, due to the mouse’s relative position to the window and also the fact that the mouse position is x2 compared to the window (i think ) I didn’t really follow the guide so I had to figure most of this out myself. (I hope its a unique project because I didn’t follow the guide) The art was made by me in procreate and pixlr. I did the outline on my ipad in procreate and colored it in pixlr later on into development. (I was unsure if I wanted to make them my fursona Kibb or Orion) I didn’t really track the time spent on art...

Cleaned up inconsistencies for disposal information across several items and categories. I fixed up inconsistent wording for hazardous waste locations, safety instructions, and corrected a few disposal details to keep consistency across similar items.
I finished adding disposal information for the remaining categories, including Medicine & Needles, Automotive, Appliances, and Furniture & Bulky Items. I also went through and reviewed all the disposal information for every category for consistency and to fix any typos or grammatical errors.
I redesigned and cleaned up the overall UI, including buttons, search results, safety notes, and disposal location cards and gave it a much cleaner look. I also updated the homepage by adding a How it works section, About section, and a footer.
I added a Show More/Show Less button for the disposal locations to keep it less cluttered and more organized. SO instead of just matching keywords it uses contextual rules to analyze the way a message is written. The goal is to make communication analysis more useful without jumping to any conclusions based on individual words. How does this improve quality of life? well for one , it gives you a better understadning of how your message might sound to a reader second , it gives you feedback without disrupting the writing process lastly and most importantly it makes private message analysis much easier to access(as it runs locally) What it does It detects around 19 different communication signals. Analyzes messages as you type. Provides confidence scores for its analysis. Uses contextual analysis to reduce false positives. Runs locally, without external API calls for message analysis(for your privacy:)) supports Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. Started working on my NLP system that powers b4usend . So essentially today i built the base for a rule based NLP text analysis system . My analyzer works by using 19 communication signals which include politeness, warmth , friendliness, warmth , frustration , hostility , pressure , urgency , blame and so on and the way this works is by using context aware scoring so it doesn’t simply look for keywords but rather it looks around a phrase to see if its being negated , hedged , used in a conditional way , quoted and so on . So for negation handling, words such as not ,never , can’t , don’t etc reduce the strength of the detected signal . For hedging detection words or phrases such as “maybe” “i guess” “probably” lower the certainty . Detecting conditionals such as “if” “when” “could” and so on can affect the confidence of interpretation. Also there is signal specific context where for instance hostility to yourself is treated as different form hostility to others and things like blame need evidence of a target , things like sarcasm should get special treatment as positive words can be used sarcastically and polite wording can be downgraded if the surrounding text seems sarcastic , to detect intensity we use indicators like multiple occurrences of “!” or “?” or strong words like “absolutely” or “totally” etc . Formality detection is done by categorizing words like “furthermore” , “respectfully” etc into formal and words like “yo” , “gonna” , “wanna” etc as casual and thus finally gives us a confidence score based on the number of patterns found , message length and contextual cues . The main benefit of this is that its completely local and doesn’t send your messages to an ai model elsewhere and all processing is done locally . I’ve just started and have a very basic version right now but will update it very frequently"}, {"post_id": 76910, "ts": "2026-10-05T01:45:08Z", "hours": 5.2436, "text": "hi!! so im building a browser extension that helps you see how a message might land before you send it and now i have a basic working prototype but ive got a long way to go in making the analysis actually useful rather than making it generic."}]...

hi!! so im building a browser extension that helps you see how a message might land before you send it and now i have a basic working prototype but ive got a long way to go in making the analysis actually useful rather than making it generic.
DEVLOG 2: (TD;DR: built the base of b4uSend’s local rule based NLP system with 19 communication signals and context aware scoring) . I’ve just started and have a very basic version right now but will update it very frequently
DEVLOG 3: b4usend is shipping!!!!!!! (TL;DR: Finished the analyzer, revamped the extension UI, and added a new-user installation guide.) Finally shipping b4usend!!I made the last finishing touches to the nlp analyzer, improved the ui for options.html and popup.html , and added a new newuser.html page which guides users through setting up the extension. The goal was nasically to make b4usend feel more complete and easier to use and not just have the analysis working in the background though it’s still an early version and the analyzer definitely has room to improve but I’m happy to finally get it out there instead of endlessly tweaking it(which i will) for those who saw this in its initial stages thanks for following the journey and remember that this is just the beginning!!
FINALLY DONE!!!! added the last of changes and worked on the algo and im ready to go!
Ships:
b4usend — a message analyzer :) b4usend is basically a browser extension that analyzes your messages before you send them and it looks at things like politeness, friendliness, frustration, hostility, sarcasm, and urgency to give you a better idea of how your message might come across. Try it out here https://b4usend-web.vercel.app/newuser.html...

Its even faster now Since last devlog, I swapped default translation layer on linux to my optimized Digitalis, and from dynarmic to Digitalis on Refract Native (windows). AND DAMNN, no one can tell me dynarmic is faster lol, from 200 fps in one of the games to 300+. Batman also runs at 120+ Linux has a working launcher now, and windows got texture compression improvements (RIP Vram) Then there are a bunch of other fixes, like Meta audio SDK working on Linux, or /sdcard storage path now resolving properly. Oh and almost forgot, FINALLY OPTIMIZED THE MAIN THREAD! It can hit 100% now because of lighter code also being JIT. This was probably the last bottleneck.
Bug fixes and compatibility Okay let’s start with the big things. Iron Man VR works and runs at 140+ fps. And one of the most requested games, Resident Evil 4, runs too! It’s at around 160+ fps. It uses the old VrApi, which now works (still experimental, and 32-bit games aren’t supported). Controller haptics, the Linux Android build tools fix (game imports work now), and viewer crash reporting also work. Crashes go to viewer.err with el reason.
Ships:
Refract! Quest Games Translation Layer. Haii! I made a way to play Quest games like Batman, Iron Man VR and AC Nexus on PC, Or any PCVR headset. You can even play Resident Evil 4 now, which is one of the most requested one :P It runs on Windows or Linux. The Android Emulator on Windows is the most compatible one. Refract Native is also on Windows and runs the game’s ARM64 code directly on the CPU, so its faster but still experimental (While recording a demo i got a pink cube in AC nexus lol, but through android emulator works!). Linux uses waydroid that just shares kernel. It’s still experimental though, so not every game works yet. Here is a video of me yapping a ton about it, and showing some gameplay >_> https://youtu.be/OpW-374mX74...

Devlogs:
I began with adding a 2D camera, and disabling movement in the Z direction. after that i began with the actual grappling system. I did this by checking which hook point is the closest to you and then creating a attachment. then with some math (sin and cos) i added a swinging animation
added a target ring so you can see what the nearest hook point is that your gonne hook onto next.
added the first level. the bouncer in the beginning and the finish don’t work yet.
I made the bouncers work! I wanted a bounce animation for the bouncer. but instead of just changing the size i decided to use the editable mesh. A editable mesh is basically a mesh that can have “bones” and those bones can move individually to control how the part moves. So i added a bone that moves up and down to make a little bounce animation.
Added death detection when falling to low or going to high in the map. Also added the finish. it slows you down and gives you options to restart or go to the menu. (the buttons don’t work yet) also designed the UI for the main menu
I added functionality to the menu. You can now select a level and play, you can also continue to the next level when finishing.
updated the level loader to be more reliable. sometimes it bugged and caused nothing to load, that has been resolved. now you can only play levels that you have unlocked, you can unlock a level by completing the previous one. also added data saving and loading, you can now join and leave the gaming with your data being saved. i also display it in the playerlist
added a way to pauze the game. in the beginning it was quite tricky because when you where already swining the momentum carried on even when your body was anchored. so that caused the camera to still move in circles.
added 20 levels, and made the UI fit on smaller screens like phones. (even in verticial mode)
Added IkControls, these allow you to control the movement of the arms and legs, but keep the natural movement of the joints. so a arm can only move in a way a arm can normally move. This makes it look like the player is actually grabbing the string. instead of floating in the air.
My last post before shipping. I did alot of bug fixes, such as sticking to a wall of floor when swinging. and a really annoying bug which took me ages to find out. apparently roblox only allows 30 highlight in the same game, otherwise they won’t be rendered. i didn’t know this so i was troubleshooting alot why it didn’t work. So I told chatGPT what I wanted and it gave me a pretty bare bones website. I changed the font and added that blue react banner on the front page. Its pretty nice to have my own website with my stuff on it, made me feel proud I guess....

Solar System Explorer is an interactive educational website I created to help people learn more about our Solar System and where we are in space. The website features an animated Solar System with all eight planets orbiting the Sun, allowing users to click on individual planets to learn more about them. The project is built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, all written together in a single HTML file. In addition to the animation, I included controls to pause the planets, adjust their orbital speed, and toggle planet labels, as well as a planet index, an interactive quiz, and a Learn More section! Keep in mind this is my first website, and I learned all of this from scratch so it took me a long time… The most challenging part of this project was making sure all the different components worked together while keeping the website organized and easy to use. Creating the orbital animation required positioning the Sun at the center and making each planet move along its own circular path. I also had to make sure that the controls actually affected the animation, that clicking on planets displayed the correct information, and that the quiz and navigation links worked properly. Another challenge was designing the website so that it looked visually appealing without making it too overwhelming, while also ensuring that the layout remained usable on smaller screens. Overall, testing each feature individually and then checking how everything worked together helped me gradually develop the website into a complete project. One thing I am particularly proud of is turning learning into something people can explore interactively. I wanted users to be able to experiment with the animation, explore individual planets at their own pace, and test their knowledge through the quiz. The animation is not intended to represent the planets’ actual sizes, distances, or orbital speeds to scientific scale, but it provides a visual way to understand the basic arrangement of our Solar System. If you want to test the project, simply open the website through its published GitHub Pages link in a browser or click “try project” here. Try clicking on different planets to read their information, using the pause button to stop and resume the animation, changing the speed, and toggling the labels on and off, etc. You can also explore the planet index, complete the quiz, and use the navigation bar to jump between sections of the website. This pretty much sums up Solar System Explorer as a whole! I hope whoever tries it enjoys exploring our Solar System as much as I enjoyed building this project!", "repo": "https://github.com/brlin888-create/SolarSystem", "demo": "https://brlin888-create.github.io/SolarSystem/"}]...

Hi everyone, My project was flagged for using too much AI, so I added new parts to my code such as a mini game and an enlargement feature for planets when clicked on. Hopefully this is enough to ship as I really spent a lot of time on this project and this is my first time doing html (my first website…)!
