Recently i got a monitor (thx stardance) and connected it to my laptop right away , but my hyprland didnt had anything to assign to the moniter , so it just went with the default one ,a diff workspace and i had to configure it a lot then finally got it to work but now i think i will make a rust based cli tool to automate those things . added another feature it does the scaling thing , hm so i used hyprctl eval 'hl.monitor({ output = "eDP-1", scale = 1.0 })' hyprctl commands obviously and scaled the monitors i think now imma gonna add separate display scaling , not a prob for me as i still havent implanted any cli commands , but also i added refresh rate impl too in the io.rs js didnt used tht in main.rs gonna do tht soon check the video here “ https://youtu.be/PTmcT2p5NYg ”
ok now i am working on it to use it as cli tool not js cargo run and pray so i think i will start with passing a value in cargo for now .ok did some work and got the refresh rate thing working too , now cargo run –list , cargo run – scale and refresh works , and works pretty fine i will need to add some restrictions because scalling max is 10 , higher gives hypr err , higher ref rate on external hdmi = no signal also disabling eDP kills the waybar too oh thts my fault lemme fix my own waybar , done took a lil time but fixed , also i changed hyprctl monitors -j to hyprctl monitors all -j because after disabling one moniter , hyprctl monitors was ignoring the disabled one
ok added some restrictions and it works yay!
this time i am making a shared window for both monitors so user can move mouse between them , after a lot of trail and err , in main.rs then in terminal and then in arch wiki finally pulled it off , safe position is 1290x0 for m2 and m1 will be 0x0 but its for 1.5x scaling not 1x or diff , oh now i need to make it diff for scaling’s too ahh god it sucks
ok so made a new formula for the workspace logic , its easy res(len)*scale^(-1) + c and here frm my tests i got c=10 for 1080p monitors. It works flawlessly in my setup but i still havent tested it on diff moniters so cant say its universal .okk added shr.rs and the logic is clean af . js do basic math easy , i made c configureable with a integer pass , pass the val of c and youre good , to go but i still havent decided vals for c for other setups , lets them try lol .bruh i added use fn branch after command and wondering , why i am getting unknown command “use” lol.wow got an error thread 'main' (15889) panicked at src/ls.rs:32:10:cant parse monitor data: Error("missing field `available`", line: 45, column: 1)note: run with `RUST_BACKTRACE=1` environment variable to display a backtrace[erox@archbtw distroller]$ ok pretty good , there was a prob with the avalible in the struct in ls but i js used serde def haha always false if no val , i have hyprctl monitors all -j so nothing to worry anyways it works now
ok so i saw when i use the share , it scales the monitors differently so we need to pass both , dont change scale and then do it , and if scale changed then revert the scale , i use arch btw , i am pro .ok use works flawlessly now , anyways found a bug , i cant use 100hz on my hdmi monitor tht supports 100hz i have no fking idea why but i cant so needa fix tht . wow i am such a idiot , changed the vec in ls then thought shld push so reverted then changed in io and now suffering lol anyways gotta fix tht bruh wtf i am getting prob on refreshrate , tht right but i named a full struct wrong and hyprctl doesnt parse tht correctly so i am getting no sup on 100hz lol , do i even have more than 1 braincel? ok after rechaingin my vec to string to vec to string to vec i finally got it to work lol . kk removed the training wheels , i mean println for helping me done

ObeBot is a simple Slack bot that can do simple things like respond to pings and send messages to the future. It was made with NodeJS and is being hosted on Nest. What was challenging? One of the harder parts was setting up the bot and hosting it on the Nest server. I was not really familiar with how to do this, because I haven’t used the Slack APIs before or hosted my code on a server. Making the command which sends a message to the future was a little tricky. I had to figure out how to use a timer in NodeJS, which I didn’t previously know how to do. What am I proud of? My favorite part was making the command which can send a message to the future, because it was the most interesting to make. It’s a useful feature that has the potential to help with setting reminders or looking back on memories if I expanded upon the idea more. How can you test the project? After clicking the Try Project button below, you will be taken to a slack workspace. If it doesn’t open immediately, you can click the “open this link in your browser”. You do need to be in the Slack server to use this bot. What is ObeBot? Please try to only test the bot in the channel bot-spam and not other channels....

(with the exception of MCL, which is a thing of its own and is definitely coming later!). Most of this devlog was bug testing by applying our pre-compiled binary into a new PROS project, 2026-2027OVERRIDE, where I could upload to the robot and see what’s not working and why. I also cleaned up the include header order and hierarchy. Boomerang: Fixed the carrot point shifting out too far and causing overshoot and reversing. The carrot point now updates as the robot moves, and the drive PID is clamped between maxSpeed and 0.0 when the carrot is behind us, so we turn instead of reverse. I also slew the driveOutput before computing left and right voltages so the turn ratio is preserved. Boomerang now has its own drive and turn settle values instead of driveStraight’s, since it’s a curve in x, y, and heading. It also uses the Turn PID instead of Angular Correction so following the carrot point gets priority. Added async and motion queuing protection, stuck detection, and static friction pushes for when the drive gains are too small. For motion chaining, we draw a line through the end point at the end heading and compare how far along it we are with earlyExitRange. Fixed the wide curves and sideways drift. Tank drives (especially with omnis) can’t correct for drift sideways, so boomerang now calculates curvature like pure pursuit and slows down on sharp curves. How much is tuned with params.curveK, which represents the robot’s sideways grip, so you can use bigger leads without skidding. Fixed the robot lurching forward at full speed inside closeDist, where the speed limiters turn off. maxV is now clamped to either the original speed or about half of max speed, whichever is less. Boomerang is now fully working! Pure Pursuit (now curve()): The LOST/STUCK bug came from very tight curves where the voltage wasn’t enough to overcome friction, so the robot thought it wasn’t moving. The fix is a kS deadband (around 1000 mV) like the rest of the drive functions. The attached picture shows how well it follows points on completely untested default values, along with screenshots of all the tunable parameters. driveTo functions (still deprecated, coming soon!): Added a built-in chain (turn, drive, and another turn for driveToPose) with its parameters as drivetrain members, so there are no hard-coded magic numbers. The cancelled or invalid motion check is cleaner too. swingToHeading(): Giving the non-pivoting side 0 voltage still counts as a movement command, so it wasn’t holding position. Now that side is set to brake during the motion and restored to its original brake mode after. Robot & testing: Added drive code and pneumatics to our robot for the upcoming competition. I also tested our custom objects and PROS object layering, which worked as expected. I commented out our future MCL instance because of compiler warnings. The boomerang test data on our data visualizer matched real life, and it settled within 1 inch with barely any tuning. Starting work on Boomerang Function: I worked more on Pure Pursuit(robot driving according to a path you’ve drawn through a imaginary circle it draws around its self and targeting where the circle intersects the path). I started by making my curve() function also return MotionResult so it is consistent with everything else in the library unlike before where it had it’s own return type FollowResult. I’ve also updated my helper function that can convert the enumberation from MotionResult into a string so the user can return the value and see what the potential error is from the logics. I’ve also continued with the math for Pure Pursuit starting with injecting extra points into the array of points that the user provides for the path that the robot has to follow to ensure a more even data type and there aren’t senarios where the gaps are so large the circle would not find any paths to target and declare the robot as MotionResult::LOST. To do this, I take apart the original array of points that the user provides and for any two points or segment; I divide it by the minimum gap we would accept(3 inches) to get how many new segments we would have to split it into in order that every segment is shorter than 3 inches. Then we simply linearly interpolate the points based on how many segments we have(ex. a, a + (distance/spacing) 1, a + (distance/spacing) 2…) Ect where we just multiply the gap by the number of spaces that we want. Lastly, I worked out a bug based on DAWGMA’s Pure Pursuit paper that sometimes the path which the robot has to take might be behind the robot(ie the robot is facing away from where the circle intercepts our path). Thus the PP is finished fixing all known bugs(untested yet) by finally organizing all of the helper function into a master function in the PurePursuit class called step(). Then the drivetrain layer(Drivetrain class) that actually owns all of the hardware calls the function, sorts the return logic for when we are done, the path is invalid, or we are chaining the motion to move forward. Though right now it is untested, I fixed the logic that would getActualSpeed() for the both sides of the drive by updating the encoders divided by the amount of time it has been and modifying the units based on the ratio to get an accurate RPM. We update the measured velocity each loop by blending the value we measure from the previus loop via an alpha variable(to smooth the reading to be free of noise). The user can also tune this at their will but the current default value is 40%(a.k.a. 0.4). Lastly, I decided to make our own boomerang function(an advanced motion type in VEX) where to robot will always follow a virtual carrot point and as the robot progresses, the carrot point will blend back into the desired along the path while giving the robot a swing to reach the desired end heading as well. (A type of move to pose – where pose is position for x, y, and heading). How to test it in Slack: Run any of these commands in any channel or DM: /dh-ping — Checks bot responsiveness and live timestamp /dh-dice [sides] — Rolls a custom die (try /dh-dice 20) /dh-quote — Fetches a random developer quote /dh-uptime — Shows live container uptime /dh-help — Displays the full command menu", "repo": "https://github.com/Dhruvinp07/galaxy-slackbot", "demo": "https://hackclub.slack.com/archives/C0P5NE354"}]...

Devlogs:
The initial release of the Pearl Sandbox project is a lightweight 2D prototype built entirely with HTML, CSS, and plain JavaScript. Designed to test core interaction and physics before moving into a full 3D space, this version uses an HTML canvas element to render colorful pearls within a bounded square box. Simple physics calculations handle continuous gravity, wall bounce dynamics, and basic velocity damping to make the movement feel natural. Players can interact directly with the simulation by clicking anywhere on the screen to instantly spawn clusters of pearls that fall, bounce off the walls, and settle at the bottom. As the project continues to evolve, these foundational mechanics will be expanded into a complete 3D environment.
I’ve changed the setup: instead of the previous 2D, there is now a 3D space where you can view the scene and aditionally you can actually rotate the view. However, you can’t spawn spheres yourself; instead, there are some pre-existing ones. They are currently falling through the walls because I haven’t managed to create solid, transparent walls yet.
In version 3 of the Pearl Sandbox, the interactivity of the 3D environment is significantly expanded. While the pearls in the previous version were statically predefined, this iteration introduces a click function: each mouse click spawns a cluster of new pink pearls in the upper section of the transparent 3D cube. These spheres fall from the ceiling; however, since the walls are not yet solid, the pearls pass right through them. The ability to freely rotate the camera using the mouse is also retained, allowing users to observe the action from any angle. The next stage of development will refine the spawning mechanism—moving away from a fixed origin at the ceiling to a system that uses raycasting to spawn pearls exactly where the user clicks on the box—with further updates to follow, including UI menus, color customization options, and a 3D orientation cube.
In Version 4 of the Pearl Sandbox, the simulation feels much more responsive and satisfying to play with. The biggest visual change is that pearls no longer just drop from the ceiling in random spots. Instead, wherever you click on the glass box—whether it’s the top, the side walls, or near the bottom—the pearls now spawn right at your cursor position and burst inward into the box. The main hurdle in this update was getting the box boundaries and click detection right. In earlier tests, fast-moving pearls would glitch out and fall right through the glass walls, or spawn halfway outside the box. To fix this, all six sides of the glass box are now completely solid, keeping every single pearl trapped inside even when dozens are bouncing around at once. Another challenge was making sure the pearls shoot inward away from the wall you click on rather than just dropping straight down. Once that was dialed in, adding a small collapsible menu overlay and the 3D orientation gizmo in the corner really helped tie everything together, making camera navigation feel smooth while keeping the focus on the bouncing pearls.
Transitioning from Version 4 to Version 5, the Pearl Sandbox has received a massive upgrade focusing on total user customization and much more fluid camera controls. The most exciting new addition is the expanded control menu, which now comes packed with dynamic sliders that let you tweak the entire simulation on the fly. You can now adjust the size of the glass box to give your pearls more or less room, change the maximum pearl limit to handle denser particle stacks, and fine-tune exactly how many pearls spawn with a single click. Alongside these powerful new settings, a fresh color option has been added to the palette to give your pearls an extra splash of style. Finally, camera navigation got a major quality-of-life overhaul: the top-right orientation gizmo cube is now fully interactive, allowing you to directly grab and rotate the mini cube to seamlessly sync and spin the main 3D camera view around your sandbox.

SchoolWare is a short WarioWare-style puzzle game about school. You have to complete different tasks in a short amount of time that involve History, Prealgebra, or Biology. What was challenging? One thing I found challenging was getting the timing of the levels to work right. When you start a level, it first shows you how many lives you have, and which level you’re on. Then, that message disappears, and the timer for your task starts. I didn’t fully understand how Godot’s process modes and time scaling worked, but I was able to figure it out. What am I proud of? I think the theme of the game and the levels are unique and silly. I am proud of the player movement, because it feels very responsive and fun to play. How can you test my project? You can just click the “Try Project” link below and it will take you to the itch.io page, where you can press “Run Game”. Set up the Godot project, made a menu screen, and healthbar display I’m starting a new project on the mission “Make a WarioWare Game”, and my game is school themed. I finished setting up Godot, GitHub, and WakaTime. I made a health indicator which will pop up each time you die. The notebooks represent how many lives you have lost, and the timer at the bottom shows how long the message will stay up for. Right now, my menu screen is super simple, and I haven’t drawn a quit button yet so it’s not really usable. But I plan on continuing with the NES color palette!
Made a prototype of the first level Since my game is school themed, I made the first level a history lesson. You play as George Washington in a tiny platformer level and you get to the magically floating declaration of independence. The artwork doesn’t look great right now, and there isn’t a lose condition yet. I did a couple things differently from the tutorial: I used a TileMapLayer instead of StaticBodies for each platform, and a rectangular collision shape for the player instead of the circular one for better feeling movement.
Created the second level - PreAlgebra My second level involves solving a simple equation. There are four multiple choice options, which I made using TextureButtons in Godot. I plan to refine the visuals later. Currently, the win condition doesn’t look like it isn’t working, but that’s only because there I haven’t yet made the next level.
Made a win screen, and made the UI look better I drew a simple win screen that looks like a diploma, and the red circle at the bottom is a button which takes you to the menu. I drew more of the UI myself, and I think it looks better than using Godot’s Labels. For the minigame timer though, it really was easier to just use a Label here because I didn’t feel like setting up a custom pixel art font just to display some numbers. I added the Quit button to the main menu, and made the Play button green. Now, the main thing I have left is making a death screen, and probably one more minigame.
Created a third minigame, death screen, and a speedrun timer The third level is biology themed, and you have to click on all the living organisms. I used a Godot TextureButton for each item, and the incorrect answers make you restart the level. I also implemented a lose screen, which is one of the final requirements for the mission, so I’m getting pretty close to the end. Finally, I made a system to track your fastest time to complete all three minigames. I think I might be shipping soon!
Final touches on the README, itch.io page, player movement, and sound effects I finished the GitHub readme file and added a short gameplay gif to attract the reader’s attention. I drew a stylized button link to make the “Try It” link pop. I made a background image for the itch.io page and wrote a description. I added some game juice by adding coyote time, which allows the player to jump even after they’ve fallen a little bit off a ledge. I also added squash and stretch to make the game feel more bouncy. This will probably be the last devlog before I ship!

What is SchoolWare? You may want to fullscreen the game to make it a bit more immersive, but it works either way....

Running kernel is 7.0.0-1006-aws, the installed one is 7.0.0-1014-aws, so nothing new loads until I reboot. I wanted the ingest endpoint running tonight and now I have to reboot first. Not a big deal, just annoying. One decision I did make: VPS instead of serverless. The ESP sends data every 30 seconds and the dashboard keeps an SSE connection open the whole time. One of the biggest challenges was getting the widget positioning system to work properly. I spent time debugging the layout and fixing issues that prevented widgets from being moved freely. This project helped me learn more about frontend development, CSS, JavaScript interactions, saving data in the browser, and how seemingly small changes can affect other parts of an application. I’m most proud that I managed to turn the idea into a working website that people can actually use. I used VS Code as my editor, with ChatGPT and Claude for technical help, debugging, and a few code improvements. I tested and refined the project along the way. How to test it: Open the live demo and try moving and resizing the widgets, switching themes and languages, adding tasks or notes, and using the focus timer. You can also change the settings to customize the dashboard to your liking. (Sorry if the project timeline looks a little confusing! I had some trouble linking Hackatime correctly, so the tracked time doesn’t seem to match the time spent working on the project. What was challenging? Integrating the Google Gemini API to reliably power both the Error Log analysis and dynamic schedule generation was challenging. It required crafting precise prompt structures to convert speech/text inputs into actionable study insights, as well as managing deployment on Render with seamless GitHub backend integration. What are you proud of? I am proud of building a unified study workspace that goes beyond basic progress bars. Combining automated mistake analysis with smart timetable generation creates a practical, high-value tool that directly optimizes real-world exam prep workflows. What should people know so they can test your project? Users can visit the deployed app on Render to test all core modules: track subject/chapter progress, input recent test errors into the Error Log AI for targeted review suggestions, and use the AI Schedule Maker to generate a personalized daily study routine.", "repo": "https://github.com/prince12xo/nasa", "demo": "https://prepos4.netlify.app/"}]...

Anyone testing the live site on Render can update chapter completion bars, log recent test mistakes into the Error Log AI to receive automated revision strategies, and run the AI Schedule Maker to generate a personalized timetable. Users can visit the deployed app on Render to test all core modules: track subject/chapter progress, input recent test errors into the Error Log AI for targeted review suggestions, and use the AI Schedule Maker to generate a personalized daily study routine....
