Trying to figure out how to read a .ch8 file (I do NOT understand what i’m doing 😭)
Got the Display working. Ngl I completely forgot to Devlog this stuff but I ended up having credit someone else to get the loadRom function working. Afterwards it took AGES to implement and configure SDL2 but at long last… It works
I started working on implementing the opcodes for the emulator. Thank the lord for Timendus’s chip-8 test suite. Soon enough i should be able to run an actual game on it :)
I finally finished implementing all the opcodes needed for a chip-8 emulator. It took a while and i ended up having to review some of them to mimic the behaviour of the original COSMAC VIP chip8 emualtor but it can FINALLY, play pong :) (not well but). Note: due to the refresh rate of the display which i haven’t fully sorted out yet, you can’t see the ball but it is there.
I FINISHED IT
Ships:
To commemorate what i’ve learnt in C++ thus far, I built a chip-8 emulator. A Chip-8 was originally a virtual machine designed to act as a beginner-friendly way to develop games for the COSMAC VIP, now in modern times, it is often used as a gateway project for both emulation and lower level programming languages. Overall, i had a wonderful time and i’m super happy i made this as my first C++ project. I definitely had a hard time trying to decipher as much code as possible purely from technical references or written articles, but that’s what made me even more proud of this achievement. To see and try what i’ve made, simply follow the download guide for the pre-loaded version in the README, or by extracting the .zip file in the demo link....

Devlogs:
So far, making the main menu and still thinking about the concept.
Made 1 tile actually work.
Working on spawning tiles. Pretty hard and needs more work on accessing files and stuff.
Devlog #4. I added tile spawning from files, and added BPM-dependent speed. Graphics are still just ColorRect nodes. Up next will be making the main menu actually function as a main menu, as well as the buttons in the main menu.
Devlog #5. Added music for testing. Random fixes. Not much today.
Devlog #6. I added dynamic loading. Now I can load songs easily from folders. Updated to v0.4!
Devlog #7. I added crash detection and added custom Android maps/levels/charts folder at storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.sadplayer652523.onset/files/songs So far, it just uses settings.json, lanes.lrc, and song.mp3
Devlog #8 I added score counter and added more input in New Song menu. Can’t forget stuff. So far, it has been easy. Everything just somehow works.
Devlog #9 Actually found out the Remote Deploy thing in Godot today Other than that, worked on some simple QoL and I think it’s time to work on the graphics more. Used queue_free() instead of hide() Added hit detection so score only updates when the tile is on the hit line. Buttons get disabled when past the hit detection line.
Devlog #10 Finally started adding textures. Still bare bones but at least better than a flat ColorRect I feel like the main gameplay is done so adding textures now. It feels like the next best step.
Devlog #11 Added a smooth transitions between the Song Select and gameplay Still has 1 thing to fix
Devlog #12 Finally added a working pause menu but still needs work on the Quit button. This game gameplay-wise is almost done and only needs some better graphics so tomorrow will probably only be graphics and some minor gameplay changes maybe.
Devlog #13 Finishing fixing the Import button. Still has time to go. After that will definitely be graphics. As main gameplay is actually done with the Import button. And I guess my 1st mobile-only game will be done.
Devlog #14 Added a nice looking button for the song selection. Doesn’t look bad actually. The cover still needs to get pulled from cover.png in the songs directory but at least the cover PNG file is always the same size, even at different resolutions.
Devlog #15 The first stable pre-release is out. Everything works as intended unless you try to break it. Winning or losing isn’t implemented so it’s kinda like a tech demo or a concept.
Devlog #16 Finally making losing and winning scenes. I’m gonna try different concepts (probably) and see what fits best.

Just working to see how the DeskPet will work, so this will be the prototype. By following the guide I was able to get to the part where the sprite can move all across. Dev 1: In this devlog I was able to change the sprite to sans, changed the movement so that it only went in one direction. The guide was right it was supposed to be Vector2(1,0) not Vector(1,1) so that it could move smoothly in one direction instead of going off in all directions. Next, Sans can tell the user the time based on their own PC time when left clicked on. Also, sounds makes his iconic noise eeee when left clicked on. Devlog 2 Final devlog: I have worked on the pet and have decided that this will be the final devlog for stardance. I will continue to update the program, but due to time constraints I can’t keep making devlogs for this project in star dance. Great news is that I was able to add a menu that allows you to quit the game. Figured out how the @onready works how to handle inputs and other things; code seems a bit more oraganzied now. Sans now has a timer that says, I’m sans.

I made a Desktop pet that takes the sprite of Sans the Skelton from Undertale as my playground project and it was fun to make. The challenges that I experienced during the production of the project, not knowing how to interpret parts of the code, because some of it didn’t make sense. For example if I wanted to add functionality; I didn’t know that I could use a function such as _unhandled_input to handle inputs such as performing a certain action if a key is pressed. Thankfully, after reading the Godot documentation, and watching a couple of YouTube videos alongside a couple google searches I was able to overcome my challenges. Finally, I would say that I am proud because I was able to make a desktop pet, and now I get to see sans walk across my Desktop....

Gumi, an ai desktop pet you’ll love Ever felt bored and didn’t know what to do? Gumi is here to help! He can do a lot of things such as: Help you with homework! Explain some code to you! Make you some code (dont do that pls, use your brains instead) And a lot more! Okay, now backstory (boooring….) Why is the repo called Duckipet? Well, because it was the initial name of the project but now, his name is Gumi! What AI providers can I use? You can use almost every OpenAI compatible endpoint such as openrouter. I used mine with north-mini-code:free with OpenRouter and then gpt-oss:20b via Groq. The project is opensource so anyone can tailor it into their liking. I find the bot cute, my friends too! Just completed the backend, I completed the setup of mongodb databse, and betterauth authentication, i still need to work on the front end.
Just created the ui of the homepage, using reference from the design language of another website.
In the older versions when the user was signed in, it would still show the sign in button on the navigation bar, now it shows a profile picture and a option to logout. In the previous versions it would also require a login everytime you clicked on a blog now it only does that once, also in previous versions it would require a login everytime the page refreshed i also fixed that so now you stay signed in.
Added the functionality to like, comment and share, also fixed some errors in mongodb where the posts were not syncing with the database correctly
The project is complete, I deployed the website to vercel and created a github repository for it
Removed the useless and weird elements that the AI agent had added, that I did not notice initially, now the website is much more refined, I also changed the font

It generate combinations of symbols, numbers, alphabets (lowercase, uppercase) and provide STRONG passwords. It is made in Python, with TKinter GUI and secrets. It is beginner-friendly, anybody who need strong passwords can use it. Keycraft is available in github releases as an .exe for windows users, for others, for now only .py is available. Keycraft solves the issue of NOT having strong passwords. The stronger, the better....

The hardest part was figuring out when a satellite is really visible. It has to be dark where you are, but the satellite still needs sunlight on it, so I had to check the sun’s position and Earth’s shadow for every pass. I’m proud that the app doesn’t just say “not visible” but tells you why, like too cloudy or the satellite is in Earth’s shadow. I also like the 3D globe view. To test it: download the file for your system from the releases page, unzip it and start it. Windows and macOS will warn you because the app isn’t signed. The README explains how to open it anyway.
