FORGEBOUND is a game showcasing my skills in the pygame game engine. I feel like this project came quite far but can go further later on. I just wanted to get this project out, might as well ship it before the deadline. I hope I can get back to this project soon and make time for it, but for now here is FORGEBOUND!...

Just finished setting up the flask backend for the website. Also created the first key for the interactive keyboard that will be used to input laundry symbols. Currently, when you click the laundry symbol, it adds it to a list and then shows the list on screen.
I decided to simplify the backend architecture of the app. Instead of having a flask web server that processes the requests and then a html page, I decided to change it to a JS based application to simplify hosting and also cause I wanted to learn some JS. Additionally, I added the code that takes converts the button input into its definition, and then renders the definitions on screen.
Updated the UI, so that when you select the laundry symbols and then click submit, the input field clears, letting you enter a new combo....

i made a desktop agent (still in development) now im making a browser extension to let it attach onto browser sessions that users are already signed in on. i tested zbctl using zWork (the agent im working on) as well as using claude code. initially there wasnt an endpoint for claude code, but claude code made one by itself. to make things fair, both harnesses were wired up to use deepseek-v4-pro as the model, and after testing the same prompt and same task, claude code basically won. my harness zWork needs a lot of work, but thats a bit besides the point. The zbctl bridge extension works.
I benchmarked zWork (desktop ai agent made by me) using zbctl (extension) to test its new browser use abilities. ive used the prompt in the picture below. the model answered all but one correct. the google form used to “benchmark” the model was: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfHyJDMoOuDENsrrTmFsGtoDfe-9RRhlB2SDkKgYQlAAXOvhg/viewform the form included a variety of answer types, including radio and dropdowns. this is by no means a final polished product, but is certainly a good proof of concept. I will continue working on zWork and improve the harness to also improve the models tool calling and accuracy. Thanks guys
updated readme because i needed to
any click that changed DOM used to take about 3s now it takes about 200ms. I also added back the extension GUI because sometimes its confusing without it. also to save tokens from agent context windows, content.js no longer creates a brand new fat snapshot of the entire page.

Endless Runner Game V0.1.4 First Devlog!! The game is now in a somewhat playable condition. So far, the start and death menus, basic movement mechanics, and level generation mechanics are working. I started work on this sometime in the middle of May but I never finished it so I’ll probably continue working on it for this challenge. Fixed issues: Shaders not loading in itch Menus not scaling when going into fullscreen Mouse not unlocking after dying Connected project to github (finally) Deleted a couple of lines causing errors when building the project Here’s the itch.io link if you wanna check it out. https://drcooke123.itch.io/endless-runner-test
Endless Runner Game V0.1.5 Features: Stamina orbs now randomly spawn and will restore half of the players stamina when run into. The effect for the orb was made with the help of some VFX graph tutorials. Options menu now exists and can be used to adjust mouse sensitivity when in the game (dont set sensitivity to zero) Destruction of the rooms speeds up the farther you go (game becomes impossible after 500+ score, will be balanced later). Many other small QOL changes were made but are hardly worth noting. DEVLOG UPDATE: Changed project settings to use WebGPU so that the Visual Effects Graph displays on itch. Still slightly buggy due to WebGPU being experimental.
Upgrade Rooms Added upgrade rooms that spawn once in a while, stopping the destruction of the world until you leave them. I spent the bulk of the time deciding on how a button in the 3d space would detect when it was clicked, and finally settled on using a physics raycast. QOL: Added small dot in the middle of the screen denoting the cursor.
Upgrades have now been added alot with some other changes. I used a physics raycast similar to that of the button to select the upgrades. I also decided to not use static variables for changing stats when upgrades occur because they make the variables dissapear from the inspector. Various sound effects have also been added (thanks to pixabay). I used two audio sources on the player to seperate the looping sounds from the sounds that only play one time. (Im also trying out a new devlog format)
Broken Rooms + Movement Changes Broken Rooms can now spawn, and the chance of them appearing increases with the amount of upgrades you have. They are more difficult than normal rooms. I also reworked the movement system so that the x and z velocity gradually increase to the maximum speed to prepare for future additions.
Abilities Added The updated movement system allowed me to add more advanced abilities into the game. The two semicircles near the cursor show you the amount of charge you have on that ability. So far, there are two abilities. One makes you accelerate in the direction you are facing, while one gives you a massive horizontal boost but causes your camera to do a flip. I also added double jumps, wall jumps, and a slide ability that converts downwards momentum into forwards momentum. These will eventually be upgrades, but at the moment you have them all at the start for testing purposes.
Two New Abilities I added two new abilities to the game, the obstacle destroyer and the teleport. Obstacle Destroyer: Sends out a (kinda) cool orb of particles from the player (which i accidentally deleted the VFX graph for and spent a while remaking). Nearby obstacles will shrink into oblivion, turning complex rooms into flatter ones. The block prefab has a seperate plane for each face so that the material can automatically tile according scale, so I put the script on the main component to simplify calling the method. Teleport: The ability pictured. It launches a ball from the player with added velocity. I used a rigidbody on the ball so that it would be able to bounce off walls and do other fun stuff. FIRST DEVLOG IN A LOOONG TIME For the possibly zero people who are reading these devlogs, I’m finally gonna finish developing a playable version of the game. I was busy and then I kinda lost motivation. I’m finally back tho. V1.0 BUILD!! The game is now in a playable state and it is also somewhat fun!!! I added silver upgrades that give you the air jump, wall jump, and slide boost abilities. (WAAAY BETTER THAN JUST HAVING THEM AT THE START) I also rebalanced the speed of the player so that the game actually felt fun but also increased the speed of the world collapse. (spending a couple minutes wondering why nothing was changing before realizing that changing public variables in the code and not in the inspector does nothing) Upgrades were also nerfed as they felt too powerful when I was playtesting, and they now actually reset when you die and start the game (i forgot to add a line to reset the static variables) I’ll probably ship this project soon but I’m still open to adding features after 1.0.
Ships:
An endless runner game focused on movement mechanics. You run through endless rooms carefully managing stamina and ability cooldowns while the world dissolves behind you. A much more detailed description is on the README file on github (click “See source code ->”)....
