I wanted to create a library for this thats kindof in the same vein as compose or flutter where all the xml is abstracted out into components that you can easily build apps with. The actual library dev started today and i just decided to setup the project today and write some code that generates the bag.plist (which is what the ATV uses to create the icon on the frontrow and get the urls for the other locations), soon i want this to be abstracted into a class letting you construct the bag programatically which is different from some other projects that just kinda hardcode it :P"}]...

A lexa and a parsa (idk what to provide for screenshot besides terminal, there is no interface yet lol)
GAWD DAMN I KEEP FORGETTING DEVLOGS (HCTG doenst have any). I added code gen, and i started variables.
I added functions! beforehand the only “function” was main, and all it did was start the program. this time tho, it has actual functions in semantic.h semantic.cpp and codegen.cpp, so you can run code from a function! again I do not know how i’m supposed to attach a screenshot of no code when im making a coding language, so this is just vscode from when it worked! (sorry for devlogs, ill make them better and mroe frequent soon)
Added integer variables!!! (no arithmetic yet, thats next).
Added arithmetic! see screenshot and commit message, but basically you can do print(1+2); or int result = 10*2+4;
to begin with: yes i was pirating brooklyn nine nine its a great show dont judge me if you think im weird for watching it you havent watched it but now getting to the arguably less important thing, this devlog consists of adding variable expressions, expressions in general, parens, and boolean expressions (no conditionals yet). its only 1h19m becuz i forgot that wakatime needs wifi, so i lost like an hour coding the expressions, this 1h19m is only the boolean expressions. so now the following new statements are valid int score = 0; score = score + 1; print(score); bool hi = false; bool nope = false||true&&(true||false); print(nope);
so turns out the last update wasnt actually added boolean code, but instead the basic concepts of booolean. tihs one added the actual code, like bool x = true&&false||(true);trust i get max storytelling and yes im still pirating brooklyn 99 its js on a diff monitor now
yaknow booleans??? how they do be booleaning???? well now you can if with them!!! no else or else if yet, but now you cna do this: int b = 1; if (b>0) { print(b); } and it prints 1
Added else statements (no else if yet)
I added scoping, now when you define a variable in an else or if block, if can’t be accessed outside that block.
While loops done, they work now yay
added for loops and else ifs (no break or continue yet, thats next)
added break and continue, and addressed an error with for loop parsing.
added function arguments and changed argument code gen and semantics to support args, no arg funcs still work
return types of functionssssss (it was so annoying took literally twice as long as anything else)
return path flow (what that means is that every path in functions with a return type now have to have a return statement to compile) doing return; on void works, and added a little bit of else if (else if is the next implementation, but right now its unfinished)
I compiled the thing into a final exe that can be put in path and run! It is available on the demo link, and I’ll be updating it. for the like 20 people who see these posts, sorry I haven’t done anything in a while, I had so much work for school (AP calc bc is unreasonably difficult) and if you want to keep up with this, you can check my github but I will most likely next update it if this ship gets rejected or next hackclub event. Thank you!!!!!!!
Ships:
I made a PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE!!! Built in c++, meant to be as fast as it but as simple as java!!! check readme for more info...

The project allows users to mess with gravitational bodies and create interesting systems. After recieving feedback from the last ship, I made modifications to the project which will allow the program to be more easy to use. I made new sub buttons on the screen which only appear after clicking on a main button. These buttons allow the user to do certain specialized tasks such as placing bodies, putting bodies in orbit, or shooting them into the abyss. I also reconfigured the controls to be more comfortable to the user (Q is now to pause since its easier to reach than P during play time). I also changed the system that allows users to modify variables like mass or time during playtime. Previously, in order to change values in the simulation, they had to bring their mouse over the text and scroll. This had major problems like the fact that it took forever to reach values, it was imprecise, and it wasn’t user-friendly. So I changed it so that the user instead clicks on the variable and types out the input they desire. Changes like this and others were made to make the project more user-friendly and fun. I also added new features as well such as the new orbit tool to allow users to make interesting systems easily and a few other new options. Thank you guys for bringing in feedback about the game! I’m sorry that it took a month for me to actually fix and ship the project. I was traveling and dealing with some things. ANYWAYS! I’ve read the feedback and one of the main, reoccurring complaints was trouble with the controls. So, I decided to work on making the simulation easier to use before implementing new things. One thing I changed was the way that the user changes the mass and time variables. Throughout the project I’ve had trouble figuring out how the user should be able to modify them. By the time I shipped, the solution wasn’t clear and a bit weird (scrolling on the text). Devlogs:
I’m working on a N-body sim
I added user inputs and the ability to shoot your bodies and set their sizes
I changed the color of the planets (cyan is kinda getting tired) and I made it so that the planets can gobble each other up
I finally figured out Github (yayayay!!!) and now my workflow is (hopefully) gud. I also added the proper formula for momentum when a body gets hit. Will need to clean up the code though.
I fixed a few bugs including one where the masses were added twice in collisions. I also tweaked the colors and added a mass counter so that the user can see the exact mass before placing a body. After doing this, I plan to fix any more bugs and clean up the code. Then I will implement a camera that can follow the bodies and a small ship the player can spawn. After that I (might!) be good night for this project
BIGGE UPDATE ALERT I added a bunch of buttons on screen that can now be used to place and delete bodies. I also made a bunch of underlying changes so I could do this! The next thing to add is wasd controls for a player that can move around and follow bodies as they follow their trajectories. After that I may or may not add a rocket to the game. who knows!

I have been setting everything up for the ship!!!!
First devlog after ship! Thank you guys for bringing in feedback about the game! I’m sorry that it took a month for me to actually fix and ship the project. I was traveling and dealing with some things. ANYWAYS! I’ve read the feedback and one of the main, reoccurring complaints was trouble with the controls. I added trails to the game! They follow every body and last for awhile. I also added some polish to the typing system and did some bug fixing. The image below shows how cool trails make basic interactions between bodies look!
I’ve been working on a bunch of stuff in this update! I added the ability to put things in orbit just by clicking around the body in orbit mode. No more guessing using the trajectory tool!!! This has also allowed me to make the system below which is similar to the Earth Moon Sun system! After this I plan to add other tools and polish.
Ships:
I made an N-body sim in which people can mess around with planetary bodies in an infinite area. Everything uses Euler’s approximation to simulate each body and the simulation allows users to add, delete, and manipulate bodies as they move around. The simulation supports up to 100-200 bodies due to it being O(n^2) and it also has cool features like zooming, variable time-steps, and a moveable player. Hope you guys can have fun with this and burn some time messing around with it! :D
I wrote a N-body simulation in Pygame. I also added new features as well such as the new orbit tool to allow users to make interesting systems easily and a few other new options. This update doesn’t have too many new features mainly due to the limited programming schedule I have but I hope yall enjoy it though!!!! :3...
