Started working on My Chess Engine! I am still learning how to effectively use Pygame for the board, but I have completed my research on how to build chess engines. I shall soon obtain all of the required skills for building the chessboard, but until then, I can’t wait to learn how to use PyGame! Wanted to learn it for a long time, but never had a reason to.
Been working on my Chess Engine Project. Today, I finished the basic chessboard! It has everything from Promotion to checkmate and even Stalemate. However, my next step (Before I start building the chess engine) will be to add advanced movements, such as Castling and En Passant, and to optimize my code (So that my future chess engine moves at a reasonable speed).
Hi Everyone! I finally finished the whole chess game, adding features such as Castling and En Passant. Next, I have started building a evaluation function, similar to those on chess websites, but wayyy worse. I hope to make it half decent before I move onto the final part of my project, the Search algorithm.
Finished the evaluation function for my Chess Engine project! While this is still barely comparable to Chess evaluation on websites like Chess.com, it is actually working reasonably well now! My next step will be to actually make the engine, though this will definitely be the hardest part of the project.
Finally built the first iteration of my Chess Engine. While still not being quite good at the game (Likely around 700-1000 elo) it is able to play chess reasonably and in fact, was able to checkmate my younger brother (9 years old). Now, I will be continuously improving this Chess Engine until it can beat me comfortably (1600 elo) and then we will see from there. The image below is the final position, with my brother as white, and the engine as black.
Improved the performance of my Chess Project, but now the movement speed of the engine has significantly gotten worse. I will now need to start working on improved efficiency for the engine. However, it does look to be playing at a level similar to mine, if not slightly better. We will see in a bit if it has continued to improve.
I’ve finished my Chess Engine for now! I have made the code more efficient, and the engine was able to beat a Chess.com 1600 bot comfortably, probably putting it on a higher skill level than myself. In the future, I may revisit this project, but for now, I will be working on another project. I also named it DumbFish, as a parody of the famous Chess Engine Stockfish
Made changes to DumbFish to make it easier for testing, as well as fixing a bug related to how the release worked. This will hopefully be my final work on DumbFish for now.
Ships:
Shipped DumbFish! While I may improve the bot further on in the future, I feel quite content where it currently is, and I wish to move onto other projects. Let me know if you have any feedback for me!
Added a few more features to DumbFish, to ensure that it is ready! They are now also part of the newest release, feel free to try them out. Still only Mac exclusive though, but this is a goal for next years stardance challenge. Even Magnus gotta be worried by my progress....

I built Manenti NASA Tonikawa , a modern web application inspired by Tonikaku Kawaii that uses NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) API. Users can explore daily space images, browse by date, discover random pictures, save favorites locally, and download HD images through a clean and responsive interface. What was challenging? The biggest challenge was organizing the application as it grew. I focused on creating a clean architecture with reusable components, Context API for state management, and handling both images and videos returned by the NASA API. What are you proud of? I’m proud of transforming a simple API project into something with its own identity. The custom design, smooth animations, favorites system, random explorer, and overall user experience make it feel like a complete application rather than just a tutorial project. What should people know so they can test your project? The easiest way to test it is through the deployed website. To run it locally, create a .env file with your NASA API key, run npm install , and then npm run dev . I recommend trying the Surprise Me button, selecting different dates, saving favorites, and downloading an HD image to explore all the main features.", "repo": "https://github.com/noname697/Manenti-Nasa-Tonikawa", "demo": "https://manenti-nasa-tonikawa.vercel.app"}]...

Favorites are persisted in localStorage and surfaced through a dedicated drawer opened from the navbar, including a live favorites counter and quick navigation back to saved dates. On the presentation side, the experience became more polished and informative. I also added reusable UI pieces like Button and Container , which makes the codebase easier to scale and keeps spacing and actions consistent across the app. On top of that, Hero was simplified so it now just handles loading, error, and passing the fetched data into the card instead of containing all the presentation logic itself. The main decision here was to split the UI into smaller components instead of growing one large hero section. Along with that, I introduced a Container component to keep page spacing and width aligned across the app, which makes the layout cleaner and more maintainable as the project grows. Just Finished the 2.0 sketches v1.0 was just me playing around in cad software so i scrapped it for precision and functionallity I really didnt know anything just recreating something I had seen earlier
Brushless Motor-Had to redesign the motor after some research needed 6 12 or 24 spokes to coil the copper around but i had 8. (Multiples of 3 because the electronic speed control takes 3 wires.) Also updated the casing to hold the magnets in specfic spots instead of just a carved out area around the whole circle. Also designed a bottom to hold the interior flush with a surface so it can be safer and more useful. Put 8 holes in the bottom so i can thread the wires through there
Design2.1 and started 3d printing. Question do you guys think that the inital design that im printing or the updated version of the stator (part that holds coils) will be more efficent? I think the new version will be better becuase it puts more copper and material closer to the magnets to get a stronger push. However as i showed I allready started printing and am reluctant to shift so quickly. Other minor updates: Separated spacer and bottom “cap” to 3d print eaiser because i wanted an encave on the bottom to thread the wires through to give a more polished look. The orange circle is to connect to the bottom if I want to attach it to something later. Im 3d printing in abs to have more heat resistance than pla and to be a bit stronger.
Finished 3d printing the components. stator and cap turned out beautiful while the casing was a little sketchy but still will do the job. Had to sand off part of the supports because they had melted into the bottom layer of the casing on one side. I am going to have to scrap the spacer because my screws are not long enough but i do have these little extension peices that give enough room to hold the bottom cap and then nuts and washers on the bottom to secure the assembly. 3d printed brushless motor got some parts like copper ball bearing magnets and rod and assembled it. Now just have to solder wires together and go ahead with the electronics control side...

Seeing the calculator command finally return a correct response in Slack after hours of tinkering was a huge relief and a ton of fun. I learned a lot along the way. I now understand how Socket Mode works without needing public webhook URLs, how to manage background processes using systemd so applications stay online around the clock, and how Slack apps handle permissions behind the scenes. It felt awesome to take code from a local project to a fully running cloud server
improved some major bugs and some issues related to riz-joke command and like some minor issues like it was just hosting the old code and i had to fix that and i had to revoke my api keys cuz i did some stupidity and that’s all for now...
