Devlog 02 I fixed some bugs, made the fetching reactive and binded it to the page and added the hero with some custom fonts!
Devlog 03 This had everything to be wrong because i’ve lost internet for a long time. I basically spent the time refining the todo logic core. Now it is possible to create and delete tasks, also marking them as concluded.

Hello everyone! I’m working on a desktop application that lets users map their controller buttons to keyboard keys, so that users can play browser-based games directly with their Xbox 360 or other gaming controller. Today i worked on key detection for all 14 buttons.
After working on input from the controller, I worked on the key simulation mapped to a button to check if the mapping actually simulates the key press or not, tested by mapping A on my controller to the space button and adding spaces between “this is” in Notepad. Tomorrow I’ll try mapping the joystick to W, A, S, D.
Today I worked on the joystick to W, A, S, D mapping, the positive and negative axis got mixed up at first because joystick up and down axis was -ve up, +ve down and -ve left, +ve right, why didn’t they mapped it like a coordinate plane but it’s done now.
Added right joystick controls, this joystick is used to move the player camera. It uses pygame’s mouse move to move the camera, the right joystick might not need to be mapped to something else. I tested it on the browser-based version of GTA Vice City, and it’s actually working!
Added Mouse clicks, most of the script is complete, now i’m going to design a GUI using PySide6(i don’t know how it works so i will watch some tutorials for it and maybe take some help from chatGPT) so users can easily map their keys instead of going through my messy code....

Project Name:AstroPass Today’s Progress: Successfully created and initialized a brand new GitHub repository for this second project. Uploaded all the initial core project files to the repository. Set up the demo link to showcase the current state of the project. What I’m working on next: Continuing to build out the next set of features and refining the code.
Devlog #2 : Bringing the Astropass Core to Life! 📡🛸 What I did today: Successfully laid down the foundation for the Astropass security terminal and got the I2C LCD display fully integrated with the system logic! New Features: * Fixed up the primary input buffer to read passcodes and badge IDs in real-time through the terminal lines. Programmed the LCD to show live system updates (SCAN PASSPORT…) instead of just hiding the data in the background. Added a dynamic fast-pass check that immediately flips the screen to > ACCESS GRANTED and triggers a high-frequency success chime on the buzzer when a valid badge is detected. Progress: Spent a solid block of hours structuring the basic logic loops and troubleshooting the liquid crystal libraries. Ready to start scaling this up into a multi-user security system! 💎
I finally finished Astropass and hit my 11 hours! I cleaned up the whole codebase and got everything running smoothly. I ended up adding custom graphics to the LCD screen like a padlock, checkmark, and warning triangle, and I used a clean switch-case state machine to handle all the terminal transitions without any bugs. I also built in a 3-strike security lockout that triggers an automatic 8-second cooldown if an invalid badge is scanned three times, and I set up a circular log system that prints the full access history straight to the Serial Monitor. Everything is fully pushed to GitHub and ready, so I’m officially moving on to my new Astro-Flora greenhouse project now!
Ships:
I built AstroPass, a physical RFID-based security clearance terminal using an Arduino micro-controller and an I2C LCD display. What was challenging: The biggest challenge was structuring the core logic loops and troubleshooting the liquid crystal libraries to handle hardware states smoothly. Managing the active input buffer to read passcodes and RFID badge IDs in real-time through the terminal required a lot of precise code refining. What I’m proud of: I am incredibly proud of building a custom switch-case state machine to handle all user interface transitions flawlessly. I also successfully implemented a 3-strike security lockout system that triggers an automatic 8-second cooldown with a warning triangle icon on screen if an invalid card is scanned three times, alongside an active success chime on a physical hardware buzzer. What people should know to test it: The entire project code is completely open-sourced on my GitHub repository. The system prints the full live access and scan history cleanly straight to the Serial Monitor for instant logging!...

Instead of texting the bot, now, you can actually talk to it INSIDE Discord! This is thanks to Gemini Live, the AI model behind generating the responses and speaking them. There are a bunch of other features too like /cat - which fetches a cat image, /dog - which well, fetches a dog image, and more! You can see the showcase YouTube video by clicking on the “Try project” button. If you don’t want to host the bot by yourself, you can also just add it to your server as it’s currently being hosted online. ✅ Fixed: Some bugs in the /liveai feature! So, if you were trying to ask the bot a question in the VC and there was some background noise, the bot would glitch out and sometimes fill its buffer of holding the audio chunks of the users. Now, I have fixed this issue and added a “End Session” button so that the user can get the summary of their conversation without waiting for 3 mins inactivity in the VC. **Most of the voice handling and AI stuff was implemented using Gemini 3.1 Pro as I don’t have an idea on how to manage audio chunks and stuff. **
✅Change: Added comments to the code! Spent a few minutes just adding comments to the code so it becomes more understandable. Some of the examples of comments I’ve added are in the screenshot I’ve attached. The bot is practically completed at this point. I’ll spend a few more minutes writing the README.md file and creating a showcase video for the bot.
✅Change: Updated the README.md file! Spent an hour writing a README.md file and committed the README to GitHub. Only need to create a showcase video for the bot now!
(smol and late) Devlog I’m not sure exactly when and what changes I did but, this is the final GitHub Repo README.md. I’ve added some alerts and more information in the README.md as you can see. The reason this Devlog is so long is that I spent some time fixing bugs and stuff (like typos) in the code and those changes were so small that I just didn’t care enough to post a Devlog on them. Will add some more features to the bot very soon :D
Ships:
~/KLAIR is a free-to-use Discord bot packed with AI features, mini-games, and a few things you probably didn’t know you needed! It comes with 15 features: 5 minigames 5 AI features 5 other miscellaneous commands The best feature, by far, has to be the Live AI feature that I’ve implemented in the bot. Use the link below to add the bot to your server! https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1532745014600536146&permissions=35186573274480&integration_type=0&scope=bot...

I filled the basic structure and followed the tutorial so that I was able to include everything, I created the Read me. next I need to add more details and add better css
I updated the styling, making it look cooler and more polished, I also added a readme file and published the website to github pages, overall the website looks and functions better now
I added my gmail so people can email me if needed, I also added some of my stardance projects to my website, I then also added links to the subdomains at the bottom, this could help with search optimisation but is mainly there for people to view some cool projects easier
I added a blog.html file so that I could make a blog section on my website, I also added the blog link on my main site, I then wrote my first blog about AI and then I ensure it all worked and linked the css up. I also added home and all blog pages to the blogs foe easier navigation View my first blog here: https://wgdev.uk/blog/state-of-ai-september-2026
It’s been a while! But I have been making changes to my site throughout, some of these changes are: Added what subject I am studying, changed the links to lead to github (more professional), made a photo section where cool photos I take go, added the PyDesk link to the subdomains section, added navbar spacing and finally I added a custom 404 page and my skills (what programming languages I know)
Ships:
I was able to make my personal site that includes information about me and in a style that I like, it is fully custom and functions correctly
I have made quite a few changes since the first version of my website, here they are: I added my email to the contact me section, added my projects to my website, added links to other subdomains, started a blog, added what I am studying, added a photos section where I upload cool photos I have taken, added a custom 404 page and added what programming languages I know...

This created a poor user experience and could trigger duplicate email sends or repeated requests. Fix The frontend button logic was updated so that while the OTP request is in progress: the button is disabled, the text changes to “Sending…”, repeated clicks are prevented, the button returns to “Send Code” after the request finishes, the user receives a clearer success/error message in English. This makes the request flow feel intentional and prevents confusion during slow network conditions. 2) SMTP IPv4 Fix for Railway: Problem The app was trying to connect to Gmail SMTP using Railway’s outbound networking stack. Railway was preferring IPv6 resolution for Gmail, which caused outbound connections to fail with unreachable network errors. Root Cause The SMTP connection attempted to reach Gmail over IPv6, but the Railway container did not have a working outbound route for that address family. As a result, the backend could not complete the SMTP connection, even though the app code itself was otherwise valid. Fix The Nodemailer transport was updated to force IPv4 resolution by setting: jsfamily: 4 This keeps the existing SMTP host configuration ( host: process.env.SMTP_HOST ) but forces Node.js to use IPv4 instead of attempting the failing IPv6 route.Additional timeout settings were also added to prevent request hangs: jsconnectionTimeout: 10000,greetingTimeout: 5000,socketTimeout: 10000, This ensures that if SMTP is blocked or slow, the backend responds quickly with a clear error instead of leaving the browser hanging with a generic network issue. Outcome The OTP flow is now more stable and user-friendly: the button cannot be spam-clicked, users receive better status feedback, the SMTP connection is more resilient in Railway when Gmail is accessed over IPv4. This patch addresses the UX problem and the deployment-specific SMTP issue without changing the overall app architecture."}, {"post_id": 57481, "ts": "2026-08-29T17:15:16Z", "hours": 1.1842, "text": "Summary : Email delivery system integration (Contact Form + OTP), Railway deployment debugging, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Guest Checkout and email OTP refactor Removed the need for users to create an account before browsing or ordering. Kept the storefront experience frictionless: users can still browse products and add items to the cart without logging in. Added checkout.html Added a checkout flow that collects: full name, phone number, email, 6-digit OTP code Added a “Send Code” button in the checkout form to trigger email verification before order placement. Whats working perfect: Database Migration & Cloud Infrastructure: Successfully migrated local MariaDB schema to Aiven Managed Cloud MySQL. Backend Deployment: Node.js / Express backend is live on Railway with dynamic port handling and SSL configuration (rejectUnauthorized: false). Catalog APIs: Core catalog endpoints (/api/products/menu & /api/products/beans) are returning 200 OK responses directly from the cloud database. Guest Checkout Schema: Relational database schema refactored to support seamless guest ordering (orders and order_items tables with proper menu_id & product_id key constraints). Next things to do (Might do later): Email OTP Verification MechanismCurrent Status: Temporarily disabled.Future Idea: Swapping Resend for Nodemailer with Gmail App Passwords so guests can actually get their verification codes… if I feel like setting up SMTP again. Order Queue & Confirmation FlowCurrent Status: The database saves transactions fine, but the post-checkout experience is pretty plain right now.Future Idea: Adding a real-time order queue screen (pending $\rightarrow$ paid $\rightarrow$ completed) and an instant digital receipt, assuming I don’t get distracted by another project. Contact Form MailerCurrent Status: The UI form looks nice, but submit doesn’t send anything yet.Future Idea: Hooking it up to the mailer service whenever I get around to fixing the email pipeline. Next Steps after that (Maybe) Mess around with Nodemailer in Express routes for OTP. Auto-clear the localStorage cart after checkout. Call it a day and grab an actual coffee
Summary : Email delivery system integration (Contact Form + OTP), Railway deployment debugging, and infrastructure troubleshooting. What’s Complete Email Service Architecture (Priority-Based Fallback) Status: Fully Integrated & Production-Ready Contact Form Email Flow File: src/routes/contact.js Priority 1 (Production): Resend API — works on Railway, no outbound restrictions Priority 2 (Local Dev): Nodemailer + Gmail SMTP (port 587, TLS) Format: Visitor name in sender, reply-to set to visitor email for direct Gmail replies Testing: Verified via curl — email successfully delivered to [email protected] OTP Email Flow File: src/routes/auth.js Priority 1 (Production): Resend API — handles 6-digit OTP codes Priority 2 (Local Dev): Nodemailer + Gmail SMTP Timeout: 5-minute code expiration Verified: Code generation and storage logic working correctly 2. Frontend Contact Form Fix Status: Resolved Event Binding Issue Problem: DOMContentLoaded event wrapper in contact.js was unreliable because script loads after DOM already ready Solution: Removed wrapper, direct event attachment at script execution- Added: Console debug logging for form submission tracking and error diagnosis Result: Form submission now reliably attaches event listeners and sends fetch requests 3. Railway Deployment Testing* Status: Contact form working in production Domain: https://duskcoffee-production.up.railway.app Tested by: User (Kaedara) — successfully sent contact message Response logs show: Payload received, message queued, response returned to frontend Email delivery: Via Resend (Nodemailer fallback blocked due to Railway SMTP restrictions)
OTP UX Fix and SMTP IPv4 Compatibility Summary This update focused on two main issues in the OTP flow: improving the user experience when the send-code button is pressed, and making the Gmail SMTP fallback more reliable on Railway by forcing IPv4 instead of the blocked IPv6 path. 1) OTP Send Button UX Improvement Problem The previous OTP flow allowed users to click the “Send Code” button repeatedly while the backend was still processing the request. This patch addresses the UX problem and the deployment-specific SMTP issue without changing the overall app architecture.

I built DuskCoffee, a fullstack web application for a modern coffee shop catalog and guest ordering system. Built with Node.js, Express, and Vanilla JavaScript, paired with a cloud-managed MySQL database on Aiven and live hosting on Railway over HTTPS. The most challenging part was managing environment configurations, fixing strict SSL connections between Node.js and Aiven MySQL, and setting up proper routing to prevent API errors. I’m really proud of getting a complete cloud database pipeline running smoothly with zero-downtime deployment setup! To test the project, navigate through the Menu/Products tab to see live data pulled straight from the cloud database, or try out the feedback/contact form...

DevLog #1, finished the basics of my WebOS system, nimOS. It’s my first coding project so it took a bit of time to figure everything out and style it how I wanted, but I ended up finishing the clock and date, some stylization, a background image and a regular one, and the ability to drag the window. Looking foward to working on the ability to close out or minimize the windows next, followed with some more stylization with icons and buttons.
DevLog#2, still struggling with code in general, but I managed to add my first app and its own clickable icon, a basic notebook that can save what is written. It was difficult trying to figure out how to make the text box and the draggable window feature work in conjuction with the close button, but I managed alright. I am thinking of adding a simple calculate next. Please let me know what I should add to it or fix, thank you!
DevLog#3, leaned into a different and more contrasting style for the CSS. In addition, I added a calculator app that is fully functioning. I think this will be my last devlog for this project, and I am going to move into the next part, webOS 2. There I will finish all of the formatting and add a couple more unique apps.
DevLog #4, I had shipped the project and gotten back some great advice about resizing the windows and adding more interesting features into my webOS. So I went to work and added: Resizeable windows, a wallpaper changer, a starting splash screen, a simple little game, draggable icons, a black hole that sucks up any window near it and deletes it and changed up some of the styling. Finally finished the PCB (this is not very beginner friendly…)
Made a second better version of the PCB with a rotary encoder and the OLED screen added, also made the case in fusion 360.
V1 of the case Cad changes: Changed the bottom where the nuts screw onto the bolts to have an inset, so that when its sitting flat the nuts dont stick out of the base and make it sit unevenly. Also increased the size of the holes to 3.1mm because im going to sandwich them together. THE PROBLEMS: Firstly the 3.1mm is NOT enough for the screws to fit so next devlog im going to increase them to 3.3mm. Secondly as shown in the photo, the usb port on the microcontroller is too high and stops the lid from sitting flat down. V2 of the case (fluked it) Cad Changes: Changed the hole diameters to be 3.4mm which somehow fits perfectly, extended the height of the walls by 3mm and therefore also increased the depth of the nut inserts to account for that. Also added a cutout for the USB since it sat too high and increased the switch cutouts by 1mm on all sides so it sits at the lowest point. Basic QMK Firmware FINALLY got all of the keys and encoder working!!! The problems Firstly the easiest one; the rotatory encoders inputs were reversed, when turning clockwise it would decrease the volume instead of increasing and vice versa for anticlockwise. Secondly the hardest part, basically my layout in the .json and keymap was looking for key 7 at the right middle instead of right bottom which made keys 7 and 6 both not respond. I might add some HTML and even CSS to make the game look a bit nicer, because the only feature right now is the plain text. I might also spend some time creating more pathways, like a apocalypse pathway. There’s a lot of potential for this game, because it’s super basic, so I’m going to try to make the frontend more polished.

I made a simple program that allows the user to be immersed in their imagination. The program takes them through three different scenarios (that is, if they can survive each), and they get to choose what they will think is the right option. The hardest part was keep track of all the options, and figuring out how to get a demo link. For any users, please just run it on Codiva, and you should be able to run it! I’m excited to make more complex projects than this in the future!...

I have added a lot ! First: new main text ! with icon. Now every link have a tool tip. I added a custom cursor that change form when hovering a text.
Added the projects section !
Just added a simple footer
I have added the stack section ! I also fixed some bug with the cursor on both Desktop and mobile
Now the copy and share button work ! I also fixed some mobile bug. I also put the clock in a custom container !
I spend 30min optimizing my website. Now the whole website is ~1MB ! and load under 500ms ! (without cache) (It’s was mostly the picture)
I added new project to the list and change the CSS to look good with different image size

I added a background to the watch face. I tried to add the background for a very long time but I couldn’t get it to work. Ultimately, I remade the project in C instead of JS, and then it worked.
I added the clock part to the watch face and adjusted the positioning of the time and date accordingly. And I updated the background image, the original gradient did not render well on the pebble, screen so I used this site https://loek.oerlemans.tv/pebble_images/ to generate a gradient that is optimized for the Pebble display.
I have added the dial to the watch face. The dial points downwards at 06:00 and slowly moves upwards until it reaches 00:00. It then remains upright until 06:00, at which point the dial jumps back down.
I added the season badge, the image changes depending on the season.
I added the weather badge, which changes depending on the current weather. I also built a feature that automatically pops up a festival badge on special days like Christmas, New Year, or Easter! And I added a custom logo to the watchface.
I added a step counter. I edited the image so there stands an “S” instead of a “G”. For the step counter, I used a new font. It was really hard to get the numbers perfectly into the slots of the counter.
I Upoaded the watchface to the Pebble appstore you can now view and download it here: https://apps.repebble.com/954dddca9a9c44f0ab1c3ff8

What changed The 8.0 system could predict, but it couldn’t trade. So it grew into a two-stage system: Stage 1: 39 candle models. Instead of one timeframe, now 13 (from 1 minute to 1 day), each with Close, High/Low, and Volume variants. Every model looks at the last 200 candles and rolls its predictions up to 100 steps forward, the familiar ChatGPT principle, just on 13 time levels at once. Trained on 5 years of Binance data (~2.6M candles). Stage 2: 6 signal models. The predictions from all timeframes feed into six classifiers (1m to 1d). Each learns a single question: Will my take-profit or my stop-loss be hit first? Answer: BUY / SELL / HOLD plus a confidence value that tells you how sure the AI is of itself. **The server is running.**live Binance data, AI prediction in real time, TradingView-style chart, paper trading with fees and stats. The legacy of 8.0, just with 45 models behind it instead of three. Still everything local, offline, no cloud, as it has always been. Why so many SL/TP tests and timeframe signals? Because the AI predicts direction it doesn’t tell us how far the move will go. And that’s where the real money is decided. Why 100 SL/TP combinations. A tight target (+0.3%) is hit often but earns little; a wide one (+7%) earns a lot but rarely hits. The same signal can be profitable with one setting and ruinous with another. Winning often doesn’t mean making money ,the win rate only matters together with the risk/reward. So instead of guessing “maybe 1% is fine,” we simulate every combination on real price paths, subtract the fees, and let the numbers decide. No gut feeling, just math. Why a separate signal per timeframe. Each timeframe is a different game. The 1m signal trades hundreds of times a day — lots of trades, small moves, high fee impact. The 1d signal trades rarely ,few trades, big moves, more risk per single decision. A setup that works on 5m can be a disaster on 4h. Every timeframe gets its own model and its own SL/TP test, so we find out independently which horizons actually have an edge. What’s next The first complete test run was too good to be true: +1.79% per trade at a 99.6% win rate. The analysis showed why: the models were trained on the entire history including the test period. The AI knew the answers. A classic leak. The plan: Retrain all models with a hard training cutoff, so the test period stays unseen for every model Simulate all SL/TP combinations on that honest time window, fees included Only a setup with real net profits gets switched to live The AI has to prove it. It’s just a devlog explaining what I built and why. What does it do? It loads Bitcoin candles from Binance (1-minute chart, ~250,000 candles) and displays them in a chart that feels like TradingView. Three small AI models look at the last 200 candles and try to predict the next single candle : Close model : What will the price be at the end of the minute? High/Low model : How much will the price swing back and forth during the minute? Volume model : How many people are buying/selling in this minute? All three work together: first Close, then High/Low as offsets to it, then Volume. Features Replay : Walk through 250,000 BTC candles at adjustable speed AI Prediction : 100 candles into the future, shown as white/blue candles Paper Trading : Long/Short with play money, including fee input and stats Indicators : Volume Delta + SuperTrend Oscillator (toggle on/off) Live Chart : Real Binance data + AI in real time ( /live_chart ) Tech Data : BTCUSDT 1m from Binance, ~250k candles, 10 features (Close, High, Low, Volume, MA10, MA20, BB, EMA, OBV) Training : Close (18 epochs), Volume (36), High/Low (180) – trained separately on CPU Server : Python HTTP server (no Flask etc.), port 8765 Frontend : lightweight-charts (TradingView-like), Vanilla JS, ~300 lines Try it yourself git clone https://github.com/tradersquant/BTC-PredictionAI.git cd BTC-PredictionAI pip install -r requirements.txt python trading_server.py Then open http://localhost:8765 in your browser. What’s next The current version is a first draft. Three simple nets with 10 features are far from the end goal: More inputs : Order book data, funding rate, liquidation levels, macro data Larger networks : Deeper architectures, maybe transformers or attention Ensemble : Multiple models running in parallel, validating each other Better features : Automated pipeline that tests what actually has predictive power But for now, the foundation works. Everything runs locally, offline, no API costs, no cloud dependency. Built by tradersquant – BTC Prediction AI, July 2026
TradingAI 12.0 ~Nexus — Devlog What happened since the last devlog: three models became a whole system and it’s running live. Built by tradersquant — TradingAI 12.0 ~Nexus, August 2026

I built three tiny AI’s (tiny compared to today’s giants) and they actually predict the BTC price. 99% of people say that’s impossible with such simple nets. That’s exactly what I want to show: you don’t need a billion-parameter model to build something useful. This isn’t mainly about trading to me, it’s about proving that simple AI can do more than most people think and you shouldn’t listen to anyone saying you can’t do something. If you want to try, just download the zip, install the requirements and run trading_server.py....

As you type, lots of suggestions will appear anyway.] In this ship I have redesigned part of the database logic to provide users with improved information on disruptions across the London Underground network. This was based on feedback from a user on my last ship - “One thing that could be improved is clarity on Disruptions and more details about them.” I decided to use a Java HashMap to pass the data about disruptions between different parts of my code, as this meant it was easier to add information on multiple disruptions affecting the same line whilst ensuring all this information was kept in the same place. I then implemented the Bootstrap tooltip system to dynamically generate tooltips for disrupted lines based on the data from the database. You can test this new feature by hovering over (on desktop) or tapping (on mobile) the names of any disrupted London Underground lines, in the top right corner of the page (on desktop) or in the menu (on mobile). You should see a bit of detail about each disruption e.g. “Minor Delays” or “Part Suspended”. I’m considering adding more detail to these but need to decide on a way to include more text in the UI in a way that looks nice! I also need to make more progress on how the line colours look in dark mode - the whole system is still much more usable in light mode! More updates coming soon. This is my London Underground Journey Planner, for planning journeys on the London Underground network! It uses a custom-built HTTP server, custom templating engine, and my own implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm which took a while to get right! In this ship I have built a ‘recent journeys’ feature which saves a user’s 5 most recent journeys in their browser (preserving user privacy) and allows them to easily access journeys they’ve taken before. This feature involved improving the database logic to improve multi-client functionality, and required a whole new client-side database system (using JavaScript’s IndexedDB) to store journey data, which meant I had to get familiar with more complicated asynchronous structures I hadn’t used before! To show users when they last took a journey, I saved the Unix timestamp of the journey request time in the local database and then compared this with the current time, using human-readable descriptions! In this first session I have redesigned the file handling logic for my template HTML files and static assets! Previously I was using a standard Java file handler to open these and serve them to users over the TCP socket, but I have now used Java’s resource functionality so that I can bundle the templates and static files into an artefact for deployment to the server! I have also been working on configuring the server ready for deployment and have deployed my project on Hack Club Nest so that others can try out the system! Still lots of work to do on improving the database system and making the journey planning algorithm itself a bit more sensible, but I have improved search times by fixing the journey planning algorithm so that it functions as a full A* pathfinding algorithm. Note that before Stardance, I had already developed most of the code in the project and my aims are to improve the project and make it work better as an online service!
In this session I’ve been writing the README so that people who come to the GitHub repository have a better idea of how the project works and how all the code fits together, as well as how to compile it for themselves!
I’ve been working on the frontend of the app as previously most of the effort had been on the backend! First of all I am adding a ‘recent journeys’ feature which will let users easily access journeys they’ve previously searched for. So that I don’t have to implement a login system, and to increase user privacy, I am storing the recent journey data in IndexedDB on the client side, so I have had to start implementing the logic for that. So far, I have managed to store the journey data but now need to fix the logic for deleting old journeys and filling the recent journeys UI component. Below is a prototype (with dummy data) of the recent journeys UI, let me know what you think! Based on rater feedback, it seems a bit tricky to use for people who aren’t familiar with London! The project uses Underground stations and not landmarks, so try typing a few letters to start searching… if you don’t know any, how about Liverpool Street or Paddington to get you started?
I’ve now fixed the logic for deleting old journeys, so a local IndexedDB stores the user’s five most recent journeys on their device, with the origin, destination and timestamp. Once the database table reaches five entries, the oldest one (based on the incrementing primary key) is automatically deleted so that we don’t clog up users’ storage space! Now I need to implement a backend lookup to find station names based on their IDs, so that I can implement the recent journeys UI component!
I’ve now (almost) fully implemented the first version of the recent journeys feature! The time you took the journey is still shown as a Unix timestamp - I just need to add some switch-case logic for choosing how to display the time in a human-friendly format! I had to implement a new API endpoint, /api/stationName , on the server so that I could get station names from the database but this is working now, and the client-side JavaScript reads from the locally stored database whenever the homepage loads, before grabbing the station names from the server and displaying everything in the table! The screenshot is the real app, not test data! I haven’t deployed it to the main server yet because I need to make the database handler a bit more robust to deal with the increased simultaneous requests, and I want to make the time element more user-friendly. Watch this space for more!
I’ve finished the recent journeys feature and improved the database code so that it handles multiple clients properly! I used some custom logic to decide how to tell the user the time since they took a journey, based on how long ago it was.
I have deployed the new version of the app to the server and cleared Cloudflare caches so that the new feature should be fully functional on all browsers!
I am currently working on a range of updates based on your feedback in previous ships! The first new feature is more detailed information on disruptions on London Underground lines - I have decided to implement a tooltip feature so that you can find out what type of disruption is occurring by hovering over a line name in the disruptions area. This has turned out to be quite complicated to implement as I need to change the way I get data from the database - to start with I have built a new method for getting disruption data so that it provides specific information, and have formatted this as a Java HashMap so that it can be easily accessed by the methods which will eventually rely on it. Next I need to rewrite the logic for generating the actual HTML which forms the disruption section, and adding the tooltip functionality in the process.
Ships:
This is the first public version of my London Underground Journey Planner, for planning journeys on the London Underground network! It uses a custom-built HTTP server, custom templating engine, and my own implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm which took a while to get right! Just head to the website at https://journeyplanner.tramcrazy.com to give it a test! The dark theme still needs a bit of work as the colour contrast isn’t great - colour mode is done based on system theme. Note - there are only 2 hours of Hackatime because I have been working on this project for many months and only the more recent parts have been done during Stardance.
To try the project go to the link (Try project button). The planner uses London Underground stations - if you don’t know any, why not try searching for King’s Cross St Pancras, Waterloo, Tottenham Court Road or Victoria? As you type, lots of suggestions will appear anyway. The homepage now shows your 5 most recent searches - this data is stored locally in your browser! This is the new version of my London Underground Journey Planner, for planning journeys on the London Underground network! It uses a custom-built HTTP server, custom templating engine, and my own implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm which took a while to get right! Just head to the website at https://journeyplanner.tramcrazy.com to give it a test! Much of the work for this project was done before Stardance, but since it started I have added a new file handling system, the recent journeys feature and written more documentation.
[The journey planner uses London Underground stations - if you don’t know any, why not try searching for King’s Cross St Pancras, Waterloo, Tottenham Court Road or Victoria? Just head to the website at https://journeyplanner.tramcrazy.com to give it a test! Much of the work for this project was done before Stardance, but since it started I have added a new file handling system, the recent journeys feature, improved line disruption information for users, and written more documentation....

I didn’t get any ideas but than I was inspired by reading a quote somewhere, I decided to make some code thar randomly says jokes/riddles/quotes , than i realized why not market it as a motivator. I have finished a little code, I am still improving it though.
What I Did Today: Spent some time setting up the core interaction loop for the project. The goal was to make a text-based companion that listens to user input and reacts dynamically. How it Works: The program uses a continuous loop to prompt the user. It converts whatever they type into lowercase so it doesn’t get tripped up by typos or caps, then scans the text for specific triggers like “miserable” or “hungry” to send back a helpful, relevant reply. Next Steps: Looking into expanding the keyword vocabulary and handling unexpected inputs more smoothly! Also if anybody has ideas on what words should leave a customized message pls leave in comments, Thank You!! *
Today I made the entire project a loop to improve user experience. after user is done with their jokes/riddles/quotes I made it so they can choose to restart the code so they can do it from the beginning.
I updated my read me. AT first I didn’t know what a read me was as I am new to this so I used AI to make my read me, but now I updated it, I made it completely from scratch.
Right Now I am trying to make it so the code waits a few seconds before it says the answer of the joke/riddle. I still haven’t figured out how to do this, I might have to watch some videos on youtube.
Today I worked on building a breathing exercise to be part of my code. I made it so the code makes you do breathing exercises if you chose not to vent out your feelings. I also worked on changing my Github repo and pushing an executable . I didn’t know how to do this so it took me a while, But I figured it out and now it is perfect. I am planning on adding more joke/riddles and quotes to Motivator.
Today i fixed a few issues like fixing my github and making a better executable. the Code is now kinda like an app.

The Motivation Loop: Once the user finishes venting, the script transitions into a comforting support system, pulling timeless, inspiring quotes from historical figures and philosophers to offer perspective and encouragement.
I improved my project to include many more features like a breathing exercise....

Understanding how to create a website
Changing my page to https
I added several sections: “Where I’m from,” “My country,” “Horseback riding,” “Video games,” and a card featuring my cat. I swapped out some images for more personal photos. I improved the layout and standardized the image sizes. I fixed coding errors and restructured the page to make it look better. I updated the GitHub README. Current status: The site is functional and in beta. I still want to keep refining it (tweaking details, adding social media links, etc.). I’m happy with the progress; I learned a lot about HTML, Tailwind, and how to organize a web project.
During my four hours of work today, I focused on reorganizing my webpage, writing new code, and integrating it with the existing code. I decided on a video-game-style theme for the homepage and began adding neon text and selecting a color palette.
Today, you can apply a new font to the home section of my page and change the text color.
I couldn’t make as much progress today, but I was able to implement new typefaces and create a new color palette that I’ll use for my page.
Today I started working on the second part of my website; I added more code and tried to make the page look better and be more organized. I still need to add some text, and then I’ll start on the third part.
Today, I can get a head start on the hobbies section and add a bit more movement to parts of my website to make it look more fluid.
In my spare time, I managed to create a new page for the code, but I ran into some issues; since I haven’t finished the code yet, the main page looks disorganized and is missing the fonts I applied.
Today I finally finished the CSS part—which took me four days—and it took so long because I ran into several errors I didn’t know how to fix.
Today I’m starting to fix the HTML, and I decided to watch videos to learn more things to improve my page.
After a few tweaks, translating all the text into English, and uploading my complete code to GitHub, I was finally able to finish my project :)

I created a personal “About Me” webpage featuring a modern, dark, and elegant design using my favorite colors; I built the foundation of the site using HTML and Tailwind CSS. It includes sections covering my background, my home country (Colombia), my passion for horseback riding, my favorite video games, and a card-based gallery. It is currently in beta, as I still need to polish a few details and refine certain design elements. The most challenging part was setting up the responsive structure and resolving technical issues related to images and browser compatibility. I am proud of the visual outcome, the thematic consistency, and the fact that I achieved a design that is both attractive and functional.
I decided to do this to experiment with a new language and create a page about myself—so people can get to know me, or simply as a project I can improve later on....
