Spaceweather is something that is fairly mysterious and creating a mission control to simulate the enviorment in space could help people understand space better. What I built. ⤷ Today I built the first working prototype of the Solarwake dashboard. It has a mission selector, placeholder mission risk values, live Kp data from NOAA, and more. I also implemented a small astronaut dog mascot. My realization. ⤷ After attempting to build a space weater mission control simulator- I realized that it feels too “normal” and not something a user would like. I came to the realization of making it feel more like a room full of screens, live systems, decisions that can affect the mission in real time, and a actual 3d viewer of what’s going on. The change. ⤷ So I am changing the direction of this entire web app. The next devlog + version will have a first screen where users choose what mission to run, and pick what they want to be(a astronaut, ISS mission capsule, etc). After clicking play, they will be able to control what happens to their selection through a full mossion control simulator. The main screen shows a actual astronaut or spacecraft in space and the control panel lets users change data like power mode, shielding, communications etc. 🎯 THE GOAL: Make the app feel more interactive & visual. Currently it feels boring and doesn’t “hit”, users should be able to learn how space weather actually affects a mission in real time through their mission controlling strenghts. 🔮 The future. ⤷ Now I am going to build Solarwake with 2 phases: A mission select screen where users can pick what they want to control A mission control screen where their decisions make a impact visually. This should make Solarwake feel much more like a game simulator instead of a dashboard."}]...

Background: I’ve made apps with react native a while (I really mean, a WHILE; hiatus for college entrances prep) back, and never tried flutter. I wanted to try my hand at implementing foundational AI models, and tried to give flutter a chance. I wanted to build this habit tracking app for a friend of mine. Specifics: This project was primarily built with the purpose of me learning Flutter. I initially tried Flutter, (learnt dart, liked some parts, thought it’d have better JS integration that it did), and it completely fell apart because I didn’t totally get how to implement quite elementary features that I’d easily be able to in a React Native devenv. I wanted to use LLaMA models as a fallback locally using Xenova, as an alternative to online Openrouter API. Then, midway, I decided to make the switch to react native since I’m just more proficient and felt more comfortable. To do: Some of the features are yet to be polished. The model use is for aid in breaking particularly ambitious tasks into solid, practical “sprints”; smaller, shorter tasks that culminate in one end. It also uses the accessibility API to find out, with user permission (all data stored only on device, analytics too only on device, by request of said friend), what apps and notifications cause particular deviations in productivity during enabled “focus modes”, and provides an AI summary of those. I don’t want to “block” with user permission, seems particularly dystopian to me. I’ll open source the app once all the features are polished to a decent level. I kept thinking of a good name to give it, and I thought, what does it do? Helps you build/ keep track of something new. So called it something. Future: Just as I’m writing this devlog, am I finding out that you can also use llama.cpp wrappers with flutter. I’m not so proficient with flutter yet, I had some help to set up some basics. Didn’t work out as I intended it would. I’ll build something else with it in the near future."}]...

so far I have completed the pcb and I am now working on the casing in kicad
Something went horribly wrong with scaling to say the least. However I fixed and recorded another video (I also changed colours to black instead of red n white).
Coding is not by any means the easiest task, so many errors, made a spelling mistake then fixed said mistake just for another error to pop up
finished the macropad and redid the code...

So this is what came out of that. The game is called Tipu atau Betul? which means Scam or Real? in Malay. Basically you get shown a suspicious message, like a fake bank SMS or a WhatsApp scam, and you have to decide if it’s a scam or legit before a timer runs out. Wrong answers deduct money from your in-game savings. There’s a Classic mode with 10 cases and a Survival mode that just goes until you’re broke. The reason I went with this topic specifically is that scams in Malaysia are genuinely a problem, and most of the awareness tools out there don’t really reflect how these messages actually look locally. So I wanted to build something that does. I used AI to help with the code since I’m still very new to this. The concept and all the design decisions were mine though. Still figuring out how to deploy it properly, so the demo link isn’t up yet. That’s what I’m sorting out next."}]...
