Just completed the first prototype of the safe design. Waiting for components(ESP32 kit) to arrive tomorrow
Finished first vault door prototype. Part of the hinge failed during print since it was only 3mm wide, so I am now using a 100mm long piece of Bambulab PLA filament.
Starting to work on the code and hardware. Currently working on the OLED monitor which will display status, then I will connect RFID and SERVO motor to unlock.
Just finished designing and coding the main safe mechanism. Currently it is unlock able through a RFID tap, which rotates a servo(which should unlock it). Then an OLED monitor displays the status
Finished the safe door design. I went through many different versions and a bunch of them did not work, or did not fit the electronics. Used around 300g of filament (~$5). I wanted all of the electronics to fit inside of the door so its all hidden but the breadboard was way to big and didn’t fit in the first version, so I created a larger one, but in person was way to massive. So instead I decided to keep the RFID and OLED on the door and keep the breadboard hidden inside the safe. The safe would be bigger than the door so it would stay hidden and only a few cables would be shown(at least thats the plan). Next up is building the safe. I plan to use a cardboard box as the interior to save filament and use a servo to lock it.
FINISHED ASSEMBLING THE WHOLE DESIGN!! - lowkey looks a bit bad but it’s ok… Moving on to the coding part. Before, the code was basic only for testing but now I need it to be functional and able to actually work well
Finalized the code. I added a Beep feature using a passive buzzer on GPIO26 so whe you tap the RFID it beeps once when you have the right card and twice for the wrong card. This is probably my last devlog before shipping the project is done!
Ships:
I built a 3D-printed smart safe using an ESP32 that unlocks with an RFID card, displays the status on an OLED display, and uses a servo to lock and unlock the door. This was my first project with my ESP32 hope you like it!...

A big challenge was getting the sign up to work because authentication with Supabase requires a lot of boilerplate, as well as configurations in both Supabase console and Google Cloud console. Will be working on the question bank next....

Just writing the training script took me 1h13 of researching …. First time writing ml model 💀🔥
Finally done with the first ml classifier. What it does: basically, it takes an url, extract characteristics from it and and predict wether it belongs to 4 of the classes. Dataset used: here Pipeline: raw csv -> keep url + type -> normalize url -> remove duplicate url (if there are any) -> stratified sampling. Next, I’m going to add character-level TF-IDF so that the model doesnt happens to predict google.com as 99.05% phishing 💀💀
Devlog 2: I’ve just doen with working on the TF-IDF model. Tho, the training time is still long (like whole 5 minutes or something for the entire pipeline). But the accuracy is great (96.95%)!!
Devlog 3 I’m finally done with researching and implementing character TF-IDF for this classifier. I’m trying to combine 2 of the classifier method into a hybrid to see if the model still predict that google.com is phishing or not. (hopefully not)
Quick devlog After combining the TF-IDF and handcrafted features, the model seems to performs worse… I might need to check some scaling problem or something? The teacher says to me that my hand-crafted features are highly correlated or like they are having redundant signals…
Devlog 4 I’ve grouped some of the domain features into 3 main groups: Identity: How long the domain is, how many subdomain labels there are, etc… it’d help us to distinguish from google.com and secure-login-account-verification.example.com Composition: digits, hyphens or special characters in the domain, as well as ratio and Shannon entropy. I’ve also updated the hybrid model training script to compare TF-IDF alone, TF-IDF plus some lexical features, TF-IDF with new 3 grouped domain features, and TF-IDF with both.
Devlog 5 Quick one here, TF-IDF and the lexical feature classifier achieve the highest accuracy here. I’ll be using that for the chrome extension.
Devlog 6 Meaning running testing and refactoring some of the training python scripts, I’ve used FastAPI to create the api for the ML model. There was a schemas that the api expect and also predict (on /predict POST endpoint)
Devlog 7 This project is about to be completedddd!!! im so excited and btw, after running some tests on the model in ver 4, it usually predict every websites as “phishing”. I have not worked on creating a website in a very long time. That is why I focused on creating some buttons that send data to my program, and I also found two libraries that I will most likely use: vexflow.js and Tone.js
I added a system so the script I am using can actually take in the values the user has inputted. The script can also use this input to create an output of 1 measure of the user input before the program will crash. Another problem is that the 1 measure only appears on screen for a second before it goes away. I will fix these two issues later.
I was able to get the scores to persist on screen. I also was able to add multiple measures to my list of notes without the program crashing, after a bunch of debugging. Currently, I was testing have different lengths for the measures and am having problems with the notes appearing on screen. I was trying to test changing x and width values but that did not work. The built in formatter in vexflow worked a bit better but my score and notes keep getting squished and cut off randomly.
I still cannot figure out how to fix my problem with eighth notes not working. I have tried editing the width values (which fixed the cut off early issue), removing Math.floors in some parts of my code, and more. I also added a clear local storage button for the score for ease of use. I will continue to test to fix the eighth notes.
I fixed the problem that I had with eighth notes by switching from using /e to /8 in vexflow. I am still having some problems with width, but overall it is much better. That is why I decided to start working on adding sound. My basic implementation of Tone.js is working very well currently. The Press to Play button plays the sound. I need to work on more features to make the website easier to use now.
I implemented tone.js. It was much faster than my other things—the only problem was needing a buffer between notes. But now I have to work on UI :( and adding more advanced features. (I also began to work on adding bpm and a import score feature but they are not finished yet)...

Scout is a CTF tool written in C that does quick analysis on files, mainly for reverse engineering and forensics CTF:s. It’s designed to be the first thing you run on a file, and it gives basic information like any potential flags and any interesting strings in the file. So far the program is able to run strings on a file, and extract potential flags and interesting strings. In the attached screenshot you can see it being run on a file called “chall”, and then underneath the contents of that file are printed out.
Scout can now read and parse json files(with the library cjson) and it also now contains a function that returns other functions! Why cJSON? It was easily availible with my package manager, and it looked the simplest out of all the json libraries. how does higher-order functions benefit this project? It dosent, the code is definitely less readable aand its completely unnecessary, but its fun! The json reading will be used for pattern matching in the file with the patterns in the json file (similar to YARA, but simpler).
Some of the things ive done since the last devlog are: refactoring the code moved some functions to separate module mathyy read json files and use for pattern matching(no more hard-coded patterns) Taylor series to approximate e and the natural logarithm simpler math implementations like factorials and powers New lnsha feature, calculates the natural log of the sha256 hash of the prorgam(completely useless) The taylor series were quite problematic, as the more iterations i had, the higher the values in the factorial and power functions got, so sometimes they would overflow to infinity based on the start value, so i had to find a middle ground where the risc of overflowing was low, but it still had resonable precision. Ive also discovered some memmory leaks through valgrind, but as i discovered, fixing them breaks everything else, and i dont have the energy to fix it, so i left a comment and moved on
Scout now has a readme and a security policy(SECURITY.md). Along with that scout now also has these additional features: (Shannon)Entropy calculation Automatic extraction of high and low entropy strings The --report flag automatically generates a comprehensive malware analysis report and prints it to the terminal. Unfortunately there are no new features, but, i have managed to remove all memory leaks and (almost all) segfaults, as well as (tried to) prevent command injection. some things ive done are: Removed command injection through filename Even though it would technically still be possible, i have blocked it heavily and i can not provide any examples of it, as i have not managed to exploit it. Using the --help flag no longer messes everything up No segfault if there isn’t a second argument This wasnt a super smooth process, as you can se in the screenshot i managed to make it even worse while trying to fix it, but i eventually figured it out.
More finishing touches. I have added: Install script Install section in README A PKGBUILD file (am planning on publishing to AUR) No real issues this time around, everything mostly worked first (or second) try.
