Devlogs:
Alpha Devlog 1: ”-4Y: Frustrations” (the name can change as the project goes on) is starting as somewhat of a X4: Foundations parody. The base gameplay concepts would be similiar: You manage a fleet of your own faction; You trade (or fight) with NPC factions; and grow your empire. The only downside? I can’t into 3D for now, Stardance is slowly ending and school is getting intense, so if I’m gonna ever make a proper X-like strategy, with 3D mode and everything, it’s not soon. For this month I’ve planned basically a 2D economy/grand strategy. Nothing more I guess. This project is unofficial, I don’t own anything that’s Egosoft’s. Basically a fan parody that can turn into a playable, open-source alternative. Anyways, here’s what I did: In Bevy v0.19.1, I made a few helper functions, few structs which I don’t use yet and automated drawing. Also a basic fighter icon texture. Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 2 I made so that the “ship” has an order assigned. I also made a sector, and the game is now fullscreen. Nothing more ig. On the next devlog, I hope I’ll show you how it’s moving by itself! Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 3 So I made basic A -> B travel. It works, but only on one example (and not every time)… The next step is to fix it and add rotation at the beginning. Then I’ll experiment with more ships, and add manual orders (that means YOU decide, where the ship goes). TODO: (DONE) universalize this a bit more add rotations experiment with more ships! add actual orders given by the player Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 4: Ok so I managed to do what is shown in the video ig, it was quite easy tbh. Have some code: if distance_to_finish < 1. { linvel = Vec2 :: ZERO ; } else if distance_to_finish <= current_speed as f64 * 42. { vel .brake ( acceleration , & time ); } else { vel .add_from_endpoint ( pos , * endpoint , max_vel , acceleration , & time ); } Here’s what I did ealier (I was sooo tired, okay? dont even ask about it ): if distance_to_finish < 1. { vel .linvel = Vec2 :: ZERO ; } else if target_speed == max_vel { vel .add_from_endpoint ( pos , * endpoint , max_vel , acceleration , & time ); } else { vel .brake ( acceleration , & time ); } Stay hydrated (and don’t hate on me)
Alpha Devlog 5: I’ve wasted around an hour on trying to get the rotations to work smoothly (earlier it just snapped in place)… Nevertheless, I fixed everything I destroyed (accidentally or not) and managed to make everything in around 20 minutes… the rest is just debugging my error-prone code lmao I also added a new triangle ship! Next step: Add giving orders manually. This will be hard… Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 6: I did it… I basically made an error (don’t ask me why) in my code: I entered a FHD RESOLUTION’S RATIO instead of FHD RESOLUTION itself… I think I needed some sleep back then lmao Anyways, I made this: now the ships are assignable (all of them, until I add actual NPCs to the game (idk how am I going to do that tbh)) you can’t order a ship to fly somewhere if it’s already flying you can’t select more than one ship at once That’s all for now ig, health bars and attacking next! Or maybe stations I’m not sure. You can comment to suggest one! Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 7: insert scream idk This was pure pain in the beginning, I had no ideas how to accomplish the fighting mechanic. It still isn’t done 100%, I need to make a simple algorithm for the NPCs and clear signalization which module is getting hit (and if it’s getting hit at all…), but yeah… I’ve made it so there are three parts: core , weapons and engines . Alpha Devlog 8: WERE FRICKIN BACK 🔥 🗣️ 🔥 🗣️ 🔥 I finally got some motivation to work and remade the attack logic! now it’s peak! …at least I think so, correct me if I’m wrong The rotations now don’t take a ducking hour, the ship immediately starts, and it rotates during a slow movement. When it rotates, it starts to actually accelerate. Also, I think I’ll just make a battle sim for now, school gets harder and harder, Shattered Atlas is finally starting to be made… So yeah, I’ll probably make a battle sim and finish it in a year or so. Stay hydrated!
Alpha Devlog 9: note: don’t let me do textures again I added a better representation of what’s going on (I think) Now you know when the engines/weapons are broken! Also: Added adding ships; Fixed ship just flying in circles after defeating an enemy; Fixed some bugs, deleted unused code and fixed linter warnings. Ship time is approaching very rapidly… Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 10: Fixed A LOT OF BUGS Added health bars (see attachment) Decided to add a proper bullet-based (!) attack system i think that’s it Stay hydrated
Alpha Devlog 11, also known as The Last One (probably): Hello Stairdancers! I added some stars to this. Took some inspiration from someone else site that i thought came out really cool and wanted to give it a try. Well here it is i added so cool stars that move up and blink. I want to try maybe making it so that instead of it moving up it goes in a circular manner and leaves a trail like one of those long exposure pictures that people take of the nigh sky when it is very dark outside. It would be very cool
added a little post section, figured i might as well cause why not? :D

made a simple website to show case some of my projects. the most challanging part was the canvas stuff with js. i was able to add a simple star bliking animation first but i was not satified with that so i had to use create a good one that will show stars that rotate and leave a trail behind. I want to add more stuff like that in the fiture but for now i think i am ready to move on....

I am trying to build traewelling-tagtistic. Träwelling is a Social-Platform, where you “Check-In” to public transit services. You can also set Tags to, for example, show what Train Model you are currently riding. traewelling-tagtistic is going to be a Website, where you can see various Statistics about these Tags. For now however, I get a 400 Bad Request from the Träwelling API if I use Python requests . However, it works from Firefox… 🤔
It is starting to work! The API can now return the number of Check-Ins for a specific Tag Value! However, there are no filters or any other advanced features…
Uhhmmm yeah here is a random Graph I guess… This is just the default template of Chart.js, the Library I am going to use for the Frontend. But actually displaying this took longer than I wanted. It took me quite a long time for the HTML File to be included in my Python Wheel. Because of that, Flask was not able to find the File to render it… Apparently, MANIFEST.in is more or less obsolete and I had to specify these files in the pyproject.toml . Also, the Frontend now lives in a subdirectory of the Python Code, not at the root of the project…
I started working on the Frontend. My final plan is to make this look at least a bit decent but I am not good at design… (Please dont look at the Icon of Mover, pleasseeee) Anyways, I find it interesting to visualize my Check-Ins for the first Time. I am very amazed that I spent 35 Hours over the last 356 Days in Stadler Flirts alone…
I am trying to orient the UI a bit after https://fabian-c.github.io/Traewelling-Maps . And while that appears to be Vibe Coded, I don’t think mine counts as vibe coded if I just steal some CSS Variables from it, right? right?
Oh well… As I am writing this, Träwelling is having scheduled maintenance. I can’t really test, what I’ve done but I tried to improve the CSS a bit…
I updated the API to show more Information. More specifically, it now shows Journeys, that did not have a specific tag set at all and it shows which Journeys had a Tag Value. Now I just have to implement this in the UI…
I now added a UI for the new API. It still needs more refinement but I like the Initial Design. Clicking on a Bar shows you, which Check-Ins have said tag set. The rightmost bar also shows Check-Ins with no Tag Value assigned.
I added a README, and deployed traewelling-tagtistic onto our Kubernetes Cluster. It is now live at tagtistic.pfuschen.jetzt and ready to ship!

I am happy that I am finally able to ship Poopsweeper. I had worked a lot on this project and was heavily motivated at the start of it, but sadly I started slacking off in the last few days. However, I could push through it and finally finish the project. It was my most challenging idea so far, because of the logic of the whole game. Although most of the time I was really frustrated with it because I just couldn’t figure out how it had to work, I eventually got it to work. I had used AI for this project, but only for explaining stuff (more in the readme). When I showed my progress to my friends, they were all amazed by it and even started playing it in their free time. A funny memory I got from the project was when I was nearly finished with it, and I decided to show it to my I.T. teacher, Mr. John, who is a really interesting figure. He is funny-looking and acts funny, so most of the time we have a laugh about him. When he tried the game, he criticized the name of the project, saying that it’s inappropriate and that I should work on my naming. After he tried the game and failed, he just said “good”, which we then started laughing at because of the way he said it. I am really thankful to Stardance for getting me to do something and actually improve my skills and even rewarding me. Here is how the game works: the game is basically just a Minesweeper variant that has dog poop and bags instead of the traditional mines and flags. The idea came from my dog, Csoki. He is the reason why I was so motivated to finish this whole project. The whole game has about 1058 lines of code :) Website link: https://poop.matyi.top", "repo": "https://github.com/CSOKIIKA69/poopsweeper", "demo": "https://poop.matyi.top"}]...
