Devlogs:
Changes Made I setup the project and started screwing with an API for getting basic information Tech Stack Node JS, Express, js, html, css, the api.magicthegathering.io API
Changes Made Made a basic website and managed to get the search feature working Basic website The website is a really basic layout but should be fine for now. Search Search uses the Magic The Gathering API ( https://api.magicthegathering.io ). It queries every time the search bar changes.
Changes Made Made search more reliable and added simple loading animation Search The search would sometimes answer the query before the current one instead of the current one because that packet would be late. But that is no longer a problem.
Changes Made I added filtering to the search and started on the training for AI card prediction Filtering I added filtering so the user can more easily specify what card they are looking for. AI card prediction I wrote a few test scripts to figure out how I will train my AI to do it.
Changes Made I wrote a script to get data for training the AI Getting the data The app will use AI to help make recommendations on what cards are good for the app. The script I wrote scrapes the internet for complete decks and saves what cards they have into a JSON that can be used to train the AI later.
Changes Made Added a simple non-ai based card recommender for land, I also added a simple graph showing the land distribution. Started working on the backend for the AI recomendation. Land recommendations The land recommendations identifies the gap between the mana required and the mana owned, a proportion based system would be better.
Changes Made I just fixed a bunch of bugs before I decide to ship this. Fixed bugs Worked on fixing some basic bugs in the card recommendation, so that I could make it work better with wild Mana on cards, it took me 30 minutes to realize a variable should have had the let keyword instead of the var keyword. But now it works much better and is in a place to where I can start adding slightly more advanced recommendations.
Changes Made I worked on the algorithm for recommending land, and I ported my Express app to Github Pages. I also redid the UI Recommendation algorithm The algorithm just takes the ratio of required land, and compares that to the ratio of the land that is already in the deck and tries to match the two, it just works slightly better than before and accounts for more edge cases Github pages Github pages is fully static, meaning I had to trade out all my server side code for client side stuff, it doesn’t affect the user too much, but limits the app in the long run.
