I redesigned all the app icons which took a lot of my time a cause i didnāt knew what and how should i re-design them, so i thought for too long and came up with these icons. These icons look way more futuristic and holographic than before and i guess much better too. Also i changed the cyber-cat into a robot so that the vibes would match the cyber effect and not like the previous one š„š„. That 0.06 lag factor means the robot only moves 6% of the remaining distance toward your cursor each frame. So it never quite catches up ā it smoothly glides and drifts. When you stop moving, it slowly settles into place near your cursor. When you move fast, it trails behind like itās trying to keep up. Added a SVG analog clock with smooth second hand using requestAnimationFrame for millisecond precision, digital display, timezone info, plus tabs for a stopwatch and countdown timer. This clock and the calender has made the UI a lot better than before. Also made a search bar, this one sits right at the top of the desktop. Itās a slim, always-visible search field with a magnifying glass icon. You just click on it and start typing to filter your apps. Itās the quick, āI know what I wantā kind of search. No shortcuts needed ā just eyes on it and type. So when you set a static image as the wallpaper, Cybertron OS doesnāt just slap it on the background ā it gives it a subtle parallax effect that makes it feel alive. The wallpaper image is loaded into a #desktop-bg div and scaled up to 1.1x (110% size), so itās slightly bigger than the screen. That extra 10% is the buffer that allows it to move without showing edges. Then, every time you move your mouse, the wallpaper shifts in the opposite direction of your cursor by up to 20 pixels on each axis. So if you move your mouse right, the wallpaper slides left ā like youāre looking through a window and the background is further away. This creates a layered depth effect: the orbs feel closer to you, the wallpaper feels farther away, and your cursor is in the middle. The whole thing has a transition: transform 0.3s ease-out so it doesnāt feel jerky ā it smoothly glides to its new position. When you switch to a video wallpaper, the parallax turns off because a video is already moving on its own. Itās a small touch, but it makes the desktop feel way more premium than a static background image ever would. So about the taskbar in Cybertron OS is inspired by Windows but with its own flavor. It sits at the bottom of the screen and it is fixed there, 48 pixels tall, with a heavy blur behind it (backdrop-filter: blur(50px)) so it looks like frosted glass over whateverās behind it. Thereās a subtle white gradient line along the top edge and a faint amber glow along the bottom ā it gives it that premium āthis bar is floatingā feel. Previously I didnāt had a single audio file. No .mp3s. No .wavs. Nothing. So there were no sound feature in the webos which made it kinda plain so i thought i should add someā. Thereās this thing called the Web Audio API built into every browser. It lets you create sounds using something called oscillators ā basically digital instruments that generate tones. You tell it a pitch, a wave shape, and how long to play, and it just⦠makes the sound. The reason the sounds donāt just sound like boring beeps is because of something called exponentialRampToValueAtTime. Yeah I know, sounds like a villainās weapon. But what it does is slide the pitch from one frequency to another over time. So instead of just āBEEPā you get ābewwwoopā ā the sound goes UP or DOWN smoothly. Thatās what gives it that swooshy, futuristic feel. I looked at all the color comnbinations with the wallpaper and i saw that the miku wallpaper looks very futuristic and classical just as i want with purple colour. So i set them as the default and if you want you can change the wallpaper and the theme colour as your preferences. The holo archieve which is the gallery of my cybertron-os was legit empty. I thought and thought and then i added some pictures of transformers movies and our fav bumble bee.. No visual hierarchy, no preview of the current wallpaper, no hover feedback. To fix this i rebuilt renderWallpaperApp() and the entire .wp-app CSS section: added a hero section at the top (180px) that shows either the current video wallpaper playing on loop, or a gradient placeholder for the default. this gives instant visual feedback on whatās active. added an overlay on the hero with the current wallpaper name and āWallpaper Studioā title and made the transition smoother. So basically, I needed a way to transcribe my audio. My eventual goal is to make a home assistant-type of Jarvis, but I really needed to pick up my voice really well. I like to speak in Hindi and English at the same time, multiple, lots of times. I have lots of filler words, I mumble a lot. Obviously, you would expect it to catch your voice really well. There are models such as OpenAI Whisper. Those are models, but they are not that good for this use case. But then I found that Wispr Flow is a model that is absolutely exceptional at picking up the little nuances of language when I speak in multiple languages at the same time. But there was no programmatical way to really interact with the API, so I texted one of the owners on LinkedIn, and they gave me permission to reverse engineer it, as they said that maintaining an API is a huge overhead for them, and they are just a start-up, so they really would not mind me reverse engineering it and building it myself if I really wanted that desperately, but they have no plans of making an API. And because I have the Pro plan, I can use it a lot without running out of words So I took it upon myself as a challenge, and I built the Python SDK that also works with the command line, where you just give it an audio file and it gives you the final transcribed version.", "repo": "https://github.com/ThisisShashwat/wisprflow-sdk", "demo": "https://github.com/ThisisShashwat/wisprflow-sdk/blob/main/demo/demo.md"}]...

The SDK is done, the Path Script is done, and now I can 100% make it work. Itās been coding for over 4 hours now, after the last dev log. Iām really frustrated that this took an insane amount of time because my experience with JavaScript isnāt that much, but it was enough for me to know what Electron was and how Node works. And even the code was highly minified (it was Electron code), I was able to figure it out. I learned a lot while making this. I learned how to reverse engineer Electron apps, and I learned how to use partial scripts to make reverse engineering ways. Here, obviously I took aid from ChatGPT and Claude to help me out with the reverse engineering because I didnāt know a lot, and theyāre amazing tools when it comes to learning. So I finally managed to make it; everything is done, and now Iāll be finally pushing it out!"}, {"post_id": 4946, "ts": "2026-06-08T16:03:17Z", "hours": 0.3322, "text": "Well before I tell you the goal of this project, let me describe why Iām making it and what my project is trying to do. For that Iāll need to share some context. First of all hi, I am Shashwat and itās really nice that Iāve been given an opportunity to participate in Stardance Hack Club. I did not know how devlogs work so my first devlog was just a dummy devlog. This is the actual devlog. I did not know that I am supposed to install a hack a time to track my code timing because itās really frustrating that it barely tracked one hour where Iāve been working on it for over 20 hours now, split across days. Anyways that does not matter. Coming back Wispr Flow is basically a commercial paid app made by some entity which is voice transcriptions. The way itās different from Siri detections is that Siri does not know context and Siri does not know your names. It does not have a dictionary of you and the moment you start switching between languages if youāre bilingual and if you like to talk in a bilingual tone then itās really difficult. It completely butchers everything and all the filler words, unnecessary stuff, etc. Every single thing is excluded, removed by Wispr Flow so you have a very professional text. In the long term that I would want to make a Jarvis-like home assistant for myself. I already have the whole home assistant running on my Raspberry Pi and I would want it to be automated by my voice. I havenāt really found any model that can do what Wispr Flow can. As the name suggests if you literally whisper to your microphone it can catch that even if youāre far away, even if youāre mumbling half asleep, you can still catch that. I donāt know how theyāve accomplished it but theyāve accomplished it really well. Again this is not an advertisement so I have purchased the pro tier and have paid for it but they donāt have an API. Basically they have an API but they have sunsetted the API where they donāt give it anymore because I spoke to their owners and the owner was like it was very complicated and it was not really worth the investment so thatās why they stopped the API. If I can reverse engineer it, I have full permission to do it for my personal projects and I can use it. For the past few days, combined time over 25 hours to 30 hours, Iāve spent on reverse engineering the Wispr Flow app. Based on that the progress I have made till now is that I have figured out how their model works and whatās the structure of their queries and calls and how I structure it now. The part thatās left is to wrap it into a Python SDK because I want to programmatically be able to send that specific 10 seconds of my voice recording and just get the text back programmatically in my own Python application. That is the long-term goal. Iāll talk to you next time or also this entire thing was dictated by Wispr Flow and Iām literally not going to correct anything because Iām pretty sure it caught everything and Iām just going to hit post. In case you find any mistakes just excuse me because I was using voice dictation."}, {"post_id": 4912, "ts": "2026-06-08T14:29:00Z", "hours": 0.8433, "text": "The end goal: Reverse-engineers the Wispr Flow desktop client and exposes its transcription and command APIs through a clean Python interface. Send audio files directly from Python, stream live audio, customize transcription behavior, and receive structured results ā no UI interaction required."}]...

Devlog Title: WisprFlow SDK by @shash | Stardance
Devlogs:
The end goal: Reverse-engineers the Wispr Flow desktop client and exposes its transcription and command APIs through a clean Python interface. Send audio files directly from Python, stream live audio, customize transcription behavior, and receive structured results ā no UI interaction required.
Well before I tell you the goal of this project, let me describe why Iām making it and what my project is trying to do. In case you find any mistakes just excuse me because I was using voice dictation.
https://github.com/ThisisShashwat/wisprflow-sdk/blob/main/demo/demo.md Hey guys, Iām so excited to announce that Iāve completed everything! So I finally managed to make it; everything is done, and now Iāll be finally pushing it out!
Ships:
Iām just going to ramble on and Iām going to describe my whole project. And because I have the Pro plan, I can use it a lot without running out of words So I took it upon myself as a challenge, and I built the Python SDK that also works with the command line, where you just give it an audio file and it gives you the final transcribed version....

Devlogs:
Initialized Django project.
Integrated Authentication (Local and OAuth). Authentication is probably my favouite part of making a website - but also the most sensitive. Today, I integrated Django Allauth with Google and Github OAuth (and local sign in/up). The process was A LOT easier, quicker, and more secure than my previous ādefaultā (default django auth), simply due its level of sophistication. Iām really excited about the progress today! Next step - styling.
I finally added Tailwind CSS and Alpine js to the project. For the longest time, Tailwind has always caused issues, but I finally got it working and it feels like magic - not having long css files. Here is a simple h1 element that changes from blue to red on hover.
Today, I created a basic landing page for the project with tailwind and alpine js. It uses the notion interface as the hero image (since my interface isnāt even built yet!) but that will change soonā¦
Made dark mode for the landing page. I created a simple user interface design on figma (light and dark mode), to move away from notions image.
Styling the authentication forms. Django allauth makes this quite difficult, but its a work in progress.
Today, I completed styling the auth pages. Now all match the light and dark theme of the landing page. This was wayy more time consuming than it ought to be, but, its finished now.
Added dark and light mode support for all the other auth and account related pages (like email changingā¦). This was lots of fun (and quick) because much of the base work was completed because of django templating inheritance.
I decided to ditch the colourfull theme for a monochromatic one.
Storing files now saves to google cloud storage.
Polished up user interface
Today, I created the document storage system. Users can securely add, delete and read documents from cloudflare using temporary signed urls. The next step is to create a record system, that can be related to many documents.
Today, I created a system where (in one step) - a document can be scanned, uploaded to cloudflare storage, and used to pre-populate a form. the pipline so far looks like: Scan doc ā> OCR + llm ā> prepopulate form ā> user validation ā> create record. Or you can create a record manually. The entire process is extremely secure. Documents are only interacted with via signed urls, all authentications are passwordless, and all uploads occur client side for fastest speed possible.
Styled the form upload pages.
I created a simple user dashboard. Its still far from complete, but better than the generic list view I was using before. Also added more document types for greater coverage.
Made a nice looking user interface dashboard that shows recent documents and usefull stats, with quick links. as features are added, they will populate this.
Further improved the user dashboard, and added some more links.
Today, I created the system to upload multiple supporting files to a single record. So currently, the record creation process is a multi step process. Upload file ā> OCR ā> record validation and creation ā> supporting files addition
Today, I implemented HTMX in my records home view to create an active search, with the dateparser library for natural language date support. I also added it in the sidebar so no reloads are required for filtering records, changing pagesā¦
Over the past few days - i worked a bit more on micro interactions. I fixed a few bugs and added persistance for things like the sidebar and accordian state. I also added loading states for most other things as well (like the active search, auth pagesā¦)
I just did some small optimizations today. I realized that anybody could just āurl-hopā to get to a password view and create a password - so I fully locked down all password views securely.
I optimized the dashboard and records list view. I realized cards were good for only a few records, but the moment they start piling up - it gets claustrophobic. So, i made the results appear as rows, like search results from google, or firefox.
Today, I did a lot of work in the background. Now - document processing occurs in a background process - users immediately are redirected to a skeleton loader, and then the add_record form when the data is ready. Furthermore, ocr results are cached for 15 mins so any page reloads, or tab closes prevent api rate limits being prematurely hit. The logs show this. the consistent get requests are the same add_record form being loaded with prepopulated data, after multiple reloads and tab reopens.
Added orphaned file cleanup cycle and pagination. Also cache more data so faster experience for the user.
Added email reminders for expiring records, that match my styling of the auth emails.
Added push notifications to the app
Allow users to choose to receive notifications.
Created folder system, that OCR can autocategorize in.
Big update - I added plaid for automatic transaction intake - and made the App automatically create folders, and organize records into them.
Added merging support. Now, records pulled from plaid can be matched with a scanned record if one is availble, increasing security for the future reimbursement system.
Added IRS compliance - ie, 7 year mandatory retention period, plus entire change log. Its basically git for your expenses now.
New dashboard designs.
Created the peer to peer reimbusrements system that is evidence backed and MOVES REAL MONEY! At this point, Ive also had the website penetration tested. The website at this stage also has IRS/IRD audit compliancy.
Finalized and styled the reimbursements system.
Improved reimbursment views templates - and fixed edge cases.
Yet again, new dashboard designs.
Added gated features. Also considering switching to dramatiq, for better performance and reliability, before production. Though, i might do that via ci/cd.
I added my accent color over my dashbaord. Im also trying to get biling working, but its such a pain. Pretty close tho:
I finallyyyyyyy got billing working, with storage plans! this took forever, and had soooo many hiccups, but its finally working, and is so satisfying!
fully migrated to dramatiq with rabbit mq
Completely redesigned the record detail viewer AND added shareable records, for collaboration.
Fully redesigned the search pages. I felt that the search pages were too monolithic so I introduced infinite scroll, with a new, Stripe inspired design.
Added more recents to the dashboard. Added infinite scroll. and colaborative records.
Big change! Im allowing external recipeints (no accounts) to pay reimbursements, after verifying their emails
Just getting ready to deploy. All 800 tests passing. CI workflow passing. Next, gotta buy a vps, or server or smt, and launch.

Devlogs:
I have been working on this project for a couple of months so far. This game is basically a survival game where the player is an astronaut who crash lands on the moon and has to repair their spaceship in order to go to other planets. Currently I have implemented a simple grid movement and also some initial tile management. The main thing that I added was a way of keeping the player in view by hiding any objects in front of the camera through the use of raycasts. I still have to work on the actual tile generation and eventual puzzle mechanics to complete the game.
For the past couple of days I have been working on implementing different systems that make up the core of the gameplay. Namely, the grid generator and the animations. Now the player has the freedom to move in any direction they wish, with tiles randomly generating in all directions. This is moving the project closer to the exploration game I intend. I still have to add ores, power stations, hazards and puzzles, but this is a step in the right direction.
Currently I have been working on not just tile generation which was my main focus before, but now I am looking at ore and resource generation. In my game I have some key resources, those being: copper iron power cells gems / crystals (idk which one to call) So what the game loop will be is that across the moonās surface there will be certain resource deposits. In order to obtain those resources there will some obstacle in the way. For example, around iron deposits there is a higher chance of crater formation. Power cells can also be used to power generators and such but I have not got onto that yet.
Well I said I wouldnāt be doing more work on the tile generation system but well, I just couldnāt help it. Previously the tiles only generated in a small radius around the player, which meant that it lost the immersive feel of space exploration, where it should feel like a truly endless expanse. This is why I changed this system to instead spawn a semicircle of tiles in front of the player. This allows for a larger range of tiles and better view. I have also implemented my ore generation in this system, so iron and copper can now be found on the surface. I also added key optimisation features such as object pooling, which means that the tiles donāt constantly need to be instantiated but are instead pooled and reused which significantly improves performance. The next thing I want to work on now is adding more resource spawns and a crafting system so the resources can actually be used for improving your spaceship and building your lunar colony!
Really testing the limits of my optimisation here. I was just playing around with some settings and wanted to see if the game would still run at a spawn radius of 100 and surprisingly it does. I have added a world object manager that now handles despawning ores and other items, keeping it separate to the tiles. I managed to capture this screenshot from underneath the ālunar surfaceā in the scene view, and it looks quite like an asteroid belt which I though was pretty cool.
I have been working more on some 3D models for drills that I will have in the game. The premise is this. The player starts out with a simple drill. It can mine copper and iron ore, however it is quite slow because it overheats quickly and also requires recharging often. The player can upgrade three parts of the drill to improve it. First they can upgrade the energy capacity so the drill can be used for longer without needing more energy to run. Or they can upgrade the cooling which means the drill will not overheat in the middle of drilling as often. Or they can upgrade the drill head, which can improve other aspects such as the amount of material you get per ore.
The drills have been textured now and man do they look clean!!! I have kept them to the same red aesthetic since I have made it so they are all made by one company called the Stellar Frontier Agency, and they are the ones who have sent you to collect and mine resources. Once I flesh out more of the āloreā of the game I will be sure to share!
I have made some quick renders that I am going to be using for the inventory icons.
Done some work on the UI. Would appreciate some feedback!
Although it might seem like I havenāt changed much, behind the scenes thereās been a lot of progress. Apart from the minor UI tweaks where I added a box and border to the different bars, made the energy bar yellow to match the power cells I modelled and made the overall colour scheme blue instead of having different colours, I have been working on the core systems that change the values of the different bars. For example, I linked the heat bar to the actual mining system which is now in place, and allows the player to actually mine the ores, the drill durability, energy and heat then all get updated. And then when the drill overheats that is also handled. Now I just need to make it look a bit nicer, since there is currently no particles or animation and ores just disappear.
For the final devlog of the Stardance competition I decided to cram everything in that the project was missing. I added: a title menu, sound effects, music, mining mechanics, ore drops, ore generation fixes, and thatās just what I remember! I hope you enjoy the game!

Iām building a multiplayer drawing game for Stardance - but not your typical ādraw and guessā thing. The whole identity of this game is the twist system - mid-round you get hit with random handicaps that mess with how you draw. Shaking brush, inverted canvas, slippery controls. Every round plays differently and that unpredictability is the core of the experience. These first three days have been deep in the backend. Room state, player management, round flow - the foundational stuff that makes everything else possible. Hit a weird architectural bug where I was tracking the same data in two different places and they kept going out of sync. Took me a bit to spot it but fixing it felt really satisfying. The twist engine is still half done but the base is solid - got player assignment and the event loop working, still more to build there. Next up - finishing all the backend routes, completing the twist engine, then jumping into frontend. But hey, I was able to complete just the index page a little bit, honestly it is bad, I know that but I built it using ai just because devlog requires a screenshot to be posted so I had to create one."}]...
