The first background is done and I added the first outlines of a app. it does not yet have content in the app but it is almost ready to add content to app. it can already expand unexpand and is closable and openable i am still working on making it unexpand correctly.
Weatherapp: The weatherapp now actually works. it uses openmeteo to get the weatherforecast. it includes the windspeed, the gusts, the direction of the wind and the tempature. it goes up to 7 days. I still need to work on the design but it does function . Mapapp: I added a map to see where youre sailing. It uses openstreetmaps for the map. you can put in the place and it goes to that place. I want to add a way to draw on the map and I need to update the design a LOT!
added all the basic functionality for the map incuding the expanding the closing and the icon
i used ai to add drawing to the map becouse i could not find how to do it online and ai gave really vage ansers so i had ai do it and it works really good also added an favicon in the browser
after the review i updated the ui of the weather app and updated the readme i also translated some accidental dutch that i put in there
Ships:
I made an webOS for sailors it includes the weather all over the world and a map you can draw on it was really cool to learn about api and how to use them. i am happy how it turned out

Created the schematics and PCB design on my Numpad. Starting my case and plate on Fusion tomorrow. Any tips on how I can make the plate design with the rotary switch and the OLED screen? Also is there any way to link my hacktime to Fusion and KiCad??
Schematics of the plate are on the left and model of the case and the plate are on the right. Today I created the 3d model on Fusion 360. Proved quite a challenge to learn the basics but once I got the hang of it, became much easier. Tomorrow I will focus on finalizing the measurements and moving it into the 3d printer for me to print and visualize the scale. I am looking to do a sandwich mount…how should I go about doing the screw holes??
Finished final touches to the build and created a Github. :) Made some unique designs for feel and my name at the bottom....

I am very excited because I added my own feature, completely independent from the tutorial!!! The notes app is now very functional, you can view and edit the default notes, and create your own notes entry by pressing the plus button. Details: Pressing the plus button opens up a new window that takes user input of the title of note entry + date. Based off the data, a new tab is added to the notes app, which is fully editable. What’s Next? I am going to add a save button to the notes app. I’m not exactly sure how this is going to work, but in the past with python, I’ve saved things to a separate file to be used on multiple occasions. Not sure how that will work since this is web based. I also made it so that the all these windows are closeable with ease. I created my first app icon and made it open the window When a window is clicked, it is moved to the front to improve the user experience. Notes: I feel way more confident with JS now. I veered pretty far off from the tutorial when I was standardizing everything, which did take a long time, but I am proud of myself. I also got a linting extension for each language, but ngl it doesn’t help too too much. For some reason the small bugs are still left unnoticed. (This is very different for me coming from python development since all the syntax errors were found instantly. What’s Next? Make the notes app functional (the user is able to add whatever they want + store old notes) !!! (This was the mistake..) After I added some updates to the style of my OS, and tested everything, I realized that my window could no longer move. I spent a long time reviewing the JS logic, redoing it over and over, and comparing my code to other peoples. After the longest time ever, I finally realized that the script tag should either be at the bottom, or include an additional attribute. Devlog 1 - KaziOS Notes: Hello! I am going to be making my own web operating system by following along with the guide, and freestyling. I currently have no idea how to code with HTML, JS, or CSS, so this is going to be a very interesting journey. I’m going through the guide right now, and I’m having trouble making the background color (its white cause I’m still trying to figure it out). I wanted to show you all my humble beginnings, and I’m really excited to learn more and fix this all up! I’ll update you guys on my progress soon, bye nowwww
Devlog 2 - KaziOS Updates: The welcome window is now moveable!! I added a background which actually took a lot longer than expected because I wanted to make sure I’m legally able to use it for anything. I created a top bar, blurred it, and added individually boxes for each element in it. I also moved my JS logic to a separate file What’s next? I am going to put my CSS styles in a separate file to declutter. I am going to further customize the look of the window + home screen. And I am going to add apps and the ability to minimize/toggle windows. Thanks for listeninggg, see you guys soon!
Devlog 3 - KaziOS Problem 1: You’re probably seeing all this time I spent and wondering what greatness have I cooked up, but unfortunately most of this time was spent debugging the smallest and most annoying bugs ever… First, when I transferred my js logic to a separate file, I updated the <script> tag and put it in the head of my file. Problem 2: I wanted to make the header of the welcome screen separate from the actual content of the welcome screen, but as you know, I am very knew to this. It took a very long time and a lot of configuring/adjusting to finally get to this point, and I’m quite happy with it. Updates: Everything is successfully debugged (windows can move again) CSS and JS separated from the HTML file. (Some styles are kept inline, and class styles are in the separate file). Windows have a new look, with their own headers and close button. Windows can now be opened by pressing “KaziOS” on the top bar and closed by pressing the red button on the header. What’s next? I feel a lot more confident with HTML, CSS, and JS, so I don’t think I will spend nearly as much time debugging in the future. I will also be adding APP icons, and building my first few apps. The first app will be a simple notes app. I also hope to make small games, possibly hangman with prompts generated automatically to be guessed by the user. Anyway, thanks for reading, I really hope next time I have more to report….
Devlog 4 - KaziOS Updates: I standardized everything, so I now have initApp() , initWindow() , initIcon() functions to easily make new functions apps + windows. Make it prettier and add more apps Thanks for reading, see y’all laterrr
Devlog 5 - Kazi OS What’s New? Thanks for reading and have a good rest of ur dayyy!!!...

Devlogs:
Made basic pipeline for my symulation, improved shader use by creating helpful functions. This will be the core of the planet(it wont change geometry) so that was the easier part.
Today i focused on the physics part of the fluid shape. I used quadrupolar tidal bulge approximation via P₂ Legendre polynomial. In terms of physics it sounds complicated, but was easier than i exepected. However I spend a lot of time trying to get the geometry right, becaose my sphere generating algorithm is pretty weird.
I improved my shader for solid bodies: -shading responds to motion(previously it looked like the light sorce was moving with the object) -now the shading is done per pixel(not per vertex) -a bit of color is added to the opposite side Here you can see before and after:
Fixed a huge geometry bug, made a shader for the water layer. The hardest part was configuring the pipeline so that the water layer and core don’t interfere whith themselfs and break. Current view:
I tested the fluid deformation in real time(made a small menu to debug it). It wasnt calculated based on physics, i was just incrementing position(this is position of the right peak, the rest is calculated based on that). Of course i needed to scale it a bit, so you can see the water deformation. It looks realy cool when the water is “streched” too much:
Finaly the geometry is calculated by the satelite’s gravity. In a normal scenario the wouldn’t be visible in that scale so I needed to bring the moon verry close to the planet(It is now invisible) and increese its mass. I am planning to make a zoom options so the deformations will be vissible even with the real data
I scaled everything to real proportions of earth and moon. Improved pipeline by adding rendering functions and reducing the number of shaders. Made the moon orbit, to see it move I added a second time scale(not based on SI) to make the orbits fast without affecting other scales. I still need to correct the water based on updated moon position.
I added camera movement, for now the camera is centered on the planet but I might change it in the future. I neede to add and rework few functions to make this work. There was also a major problem, which I learnt is called “gimbal lock”. Before I fixed It the camera was getting flipped when It rotated 90 degrees. There is also a zoom option(2’nd picture).
Made a custom Information tab, It shows simulation data. This took me some time, but I am happy with the results.
Made a huge rework today: -Reworked the entire pipeline and data structures to make code cleaner and more efficient. -Fixed some physics mistakes with scales I made before. -Fixed rendering bug which appeared when I chaned rendering order to a propper one.
I replaced some floats with doubles for better precision and improved the information tab.
I fixed some scaling bugs, but there still some left and i cant figure how to fix them. I also need to add friction soon. View after fixing radious bug:
Added an option for user input. Now I will focus on adding friction to the moving ocean.
I am now working on rewriting may program so I can later convert it to WASM using emscriptem. I also made the satelite distance modifiable.
I optimized my simulation and added a camera orientation indicator(top-right corner). It was much harder than I expected but It looks cool.
BIG NEWS! I was finally able to convert my C code to WASM using emscripten. I run it on local hosted server but I still cant make it work on github pages. I also moved part of physics calculations to a specified shader which should significantly boost the performace.
I added a trail behind the satelite to make this more interesting and a direction indicator(which you can turn off) so you know where the satelite is when you zoom in. I also started working on the shell file which basically grabs the render and ads html features. All the info and other thing will be in this grey area(for now, maybe I will change them later).
I added a UI to the web page! It features: -camera controls: rotating, zooming and home position -simulation parameters which you can change with sliders. Everything is conected to the simulation via “cwrap”, which makes you able to use some of your functions, from the c program, in java script. I went through multiple layout and I am still not shure if I will keep this one. This was my first time building something like this so I took some help from the AI while making the trackpad and the sliders.
I improved the camera movement by making the rotation not based on the 3 main axes and instead based on the new ones created by the movement on the touchpad. It was quite hard to integrate everything but now the camera moves verry smooth. I also fixed a bug in the fragment shader which was breaking the alpha value of the oceanand now it looks much better.
I wrote the readme and I am almost ready to ship! Photos of progress:
I added different screen size support and a mobile layout. I also chaneged the UI SO now the whole canvas is likę a trackpad and you can zoom with scroll/fingers
Hello everyone It is my first devlog after the ship. People who rated my project had a great suggestion to make a tutorial, so I got to work. It will be in a form of a toggled window with instructions and explanations.
I added the tutorial, I wrote it by myself so there might be some uncought mistakes left, since English is not my native language. I think I explained it well and now the what some simulation parameters doshould be clear. Drawing is also made by me.
Added a reopening button for the tutorial and polished other things, project ready to ship :)
Ships:
I made a simualation of tides generated on a planet by a satelite. I made it in C and OpenGL which I compiled(using emscriptem) to WebAssembly and WebGL. Then I added controls to make it interractive. I am verry proud that I menaged to compute the shape of the water almost entirely on a GPU shader. I also made a custom camera system which enables rotating along vectors other than the 3 main axes. The simulation isnt super accurate but it can serve for eg. educational purposes.
Ship #2 Many peaple in the reviews suggested adding some type of tutorial, so I added one. It was written with no AI, there might still be some grammar mistakes, but I hope the tutorial will be helpful....

I also worked out why I’m going with this landmark based approach instead of the typical CNN on images method most tutorials use feeding a model 921,600 raw pixel values means it has to learn what a hand even looks like before it can learn gestures, whereas feeding it 63 clean numbers means it only has to learn the gesture itself. After locking in the architecture I spent the rest of that first day writing the code and split everything into three separate files so each part of the pipeline has its own job. collect_data.py: opens up the webcam and runs MediaPipe hand detection, I hold a gesture and hit space to start recording samples for it. Every frame it grabs the 21 landmark points, normalizes them based on the wrist position and hand size, and saves those 63 numbers along with the gesture label as a row in a CSV. (have not tested it yet but it should work) train_model.py: takes that CSV, encodes all the gesture labels, splits everything into training and test sets, and builds a small dense neural network 128 → 64 → 32 → output using TensorFlow. It saves the trained model and label encoder so the detector script can use them later. run_detector.py: loads that trained model and runs live prediction, pulling the same normalized landmarks from the webcam and showing the predicted gesture in real time. i didn’t get to test any of it BUT HOPING SOON"}]...
