Dev Vlog #9 — Added Snake Game! Hey everyone, welcome back to another WebOS update! This time I made a game, quite a popular one, Snake Game. Some lines of code to make its movement and food growth work, like: currentWindows . map (( appWindow ) => { const game = appWindow . gameState ?. snake ; if ( ! game || game . status !== ' playing ' ) return appWindow ; const head = game . body [ 0 ]; const direction = game . nextDirection ; const nextHead = { x : ( head . x + direction . x + SNAKE_SIZE ) % SNAKE_SIZE , y : ( head . y + direction . y + SNAKE_SIZE ) % SNAKE_SIZE , }; const hitSelf = game . body . some ( ( point ) => point . x === nextHead . x && point . y === nextHead . y ); if ( hitSelf ) { return { ... appWindow , gameState : { ... appWindow . gameState , snake : { ... game , status : ' lost ' }, }, }; } It does not die when it hits the wall, but ends up on the other side of the screen. Dev Vlog #9 — Added 2048 Game! Hey everyone, welcome back to another WebOS update! This time I made another popular game, 2048 . Some lines of code to make the tiles move and merge, like: const moveRow = ( row : number []) => { const filtered = row . filter (( value ) => value !== 0 ); const result : number [] = []; for ( let i = 0 ; i < filtered . length ; i ++ ) { if ( filtered [ i ] === filtered [ i + 1 ]) { result . push ( filtered [ i ] * 2 ); i ++ ; } else { result . push ( filtered [ i ]); } } while ( result . length < 4 ) { result . push ( 0 ); } return result ; }; I changed my mind at last to shift form minesweeper It was pretty fun making 2048 and getting the tile movement and merging to work properly inside WebOS. i will make minesweeper now!!!!!!
JUST A QUICK CAPUP just to remind u guys to I fixed some lag issue abt 2048 and snake and added both to CMD :)
Dev Vlog #10 — Added Minesweeper! 💣 Hey everyone, welcome back to another WebOS update! This time I made another classic game, Minesweeper . Some lines of code to make the mines and tile revealing work, like: const revealCell = ( row : number , col : number ) => { if ( board [ row ][ col ]. isMine ) { setGameStatus ( ' lost ' ); return ; } const newBoard = board . map (( r ) => [... r ]); newBoard [ row ][ col ]. isRevealed = true ; setBoard ( newBoard ); }; The game now has tile movement, merging tiles, and adding new tiles after each move. it was too hard to set the tile screen and mines & it still have bugs , but its good for now and i am gona a ship it 😋😋

This transition required the manual implementation of all essential “life support” circuitry, ensuring the system can handle the rigors of flight. Key Schematic Improvements: Chip-Down Migration: Transitioned to the ESP32-PICO-D4, requiring a custom power bus and complete decoupling implementation using uF capacitors for power stability and pF capacitors for RF performance. Antenna Optimization: Implemented a formal Pi-network between the radio module and antenna connector to properly match impedance, ensuring effective signal transmission. Infrastructure Addition: Integrated manual Boot/Programming buttons and a dedicated UART header to facilitate reliable code deployment and real-time debugging. Design Cleanup: Removed redundant components (such as external Flash memory) by leveraging the integrated features of the PICO-D4, resulting in a cleaner, more reliable board. Power Integrity: Added critical decoupling across all power rails to prevent brown-outs during high-current radio transmissions. The schematic is now ready for the physical PCB layout phase."}, {"post_id": 16323, "ts": "2026-06-26T15:46:22Z", "hours": 0.5517, "text": "i made a rough outline, placing components roughly where i think they should go, and making an outline of the board based on that. i made a rough outline, placing components roughly where i think they should go, and making an outline of the board based on that. I also decided on a two-layer pcb. I will place the other components next.
Devlog 3: Major Changes to Schematic Over the past week, I have significantly evolved the flight computer architecture, migrating the design from a high-level ESP32 module to a custom chip-down design using the ESP32-PICO-D4. The schematic is now ready for the physical PCB layout phase....

Devlog2_RoboSnoop_10/06/26 I figured out how to attach a slider to the RoboSnoop OS, but I only got it to move based on the position of my hand along the x axis of the screen instead of based on the angle at which my fingers curl. <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mediapipe/control_utils/control_utils.js"></script> <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mediapipe/drawing_utils/drawing_utils.js"></script> <script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mediapipe/hands/hands.js"></script> <video id="camera" autoplay playsinline></video> <canvas id="output"></canvas> <script> const slider = document.querySelector("#slider"); let thumbAngle = slider.value; slider.addEventListener("input", function () { thumbAngle = slider.value; }); </script> <script> const hands = new Hands({ locateFile: (file) => { return `https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@mediapipe/hands/${file}`; }, }); hands.setOptions({ maxNumHands: 1, modelComplexity: 1, minDetectionConfidence: 0.5, minTrackingConfidence: 0.5, }); hands.onResults((results) => {console.log("Found the handdd!", results)}); const camera = new Camera (video,{onFrame: async () => { await hands.send({image: video}); }, width: 700, height: 500}); camera.start(); hands.onResults((results) => { if (!results.multiHandLandmarks || !results.multiHandLandmarks.length) return; const indexTip = results.multiHandLandmarks[0][8]; // index fingertip const min = Number(slider.min); const max = Number(slider.max); const value = min + indexTip.x * (max - min); slider.value = value; thumbAngle = value; }); </script>
Devlog3_RoboSnoop_10/06/26 FINALLY aligned the second slider with the first and completed the code for the calculation of the angle for the index finger (unfortunately we have been lied to, A-level mathematics is not completely useless): #Find vector AB const BA = { x: A.x - B.x, y: A.y - B.y }; #Find vector CB const BC = { x: C.x - B.x, y: C.y - B.y }; #Calculate the dot product const dotProduct = BA.x * BC.x + BA.y * BC.y; #mod AB = (x^2 + y^2)^0.5 const magnitudeBA = Math.sqrt(BA.x * BA.x + BA.y * BA.y); const magnitudeBC = Math.sqrt(BC.x * BC.x + BC.y * BC.y); #dot product = modAB * mod BC cos theta (manipulate to calculate theta) const angle = Math.acos( dotProduct / (magnitudeBA * magnitudeBC) ); return angle * 180 / Math.PI; } hands.onResults((results) => { if (!results.multiHandLandmarks.length) return; const hand = results.multiHandLandmarks[0]; #5, 6, 7 represent the different joints in the finger const indexAngle = getAngle(hand[5], hand[6], hand[8]); setAngleValue(indexAngle); The next steps would be adding 3 more sliders for each of the fingers (and aligning them so that they aren’t floating everywhere), and hopefully accounting for another degree of freedom about the knuckle joint (right now there’s only one degree I calculated for so only one value of theta, but there’s 3 degrees of freedom about the index finger (not accounting for adduction and abduction) and I have to figure out how to work around that or incorporate it into RoboSnoop and ultimately Project Handy Snoopsawg...

Both LED-chain labels were quietly landing on the exact same point, so I re-spaced them to each own their stub, and the dangling chain-end output got a proper no-connect flag instead of sitting there as a one-pin net. The bigger job was the footprints. I built accurate ones from scratch for the XIAO (7 pads a side, 2.54mm pitch, 0.6” rows) and the SK6812 MINI-E, added a footprint library so nothing looks like its floating, and switched the switches over to the correct stock footprints. After that it routed cleanly: 70 × 72mm, two-layer, ground pour both sides, M3 corner holes, and the XIAO’s USB sat on the bottom edge ready for the case cut-out. The ratsnest is completely gone. On top of that the firmware’s now actually a timer instead of a stub. I added the set → run → pause → done plus the break presets. The encoder sets the minutes, the OLED shows FOCUS / BREAK / DONE / SET with a live mm:ss countdown, and the two LEDs do the thing I wanted from the start, amber while idle, green while running, red in the final minute, then flashing when you’re done. I’ve set up the whole skeleton from scratch: the KiCad schematic fully wired (13 symbols), a rough PCB with all the parts placed, and a QMK keyboard folder that compiles. Pinout’s locked in and the schematic and firmware agree pad-for-pad: three keys on D0–D2, the encoder on D3/D6/D7, the OLED over I²C on D4/D5, and the SK6812 data line on D10. I wanted the whole thing wired and testable before I touch routing, so that if something breaks later I know it’s the layout and not the connections. Ran the first round of checks though and the PCB threw up a fair few errors when I opened. Nothing fatal, looks like footprint and outline gremlins from the skeleton stage. Focus Totem — Devlog #1 I started building Focus Totem, a little Pomodoro/study-timer macropad. The idea is a small desk totem you twist to set your focus minutes, press the knob to start, and it counts down on a tiny OLED while two LEDs breathe amber → green → red so you can feel the time going from the corner of your eye. I built it because I doomscroll the second studying gets boring, so I wanted a physical thing sat on my desk that I have to deliberately start. Next up: sorting those errors, routing the board, drawing the Edge.Cuts outline, and building the actual Pomodoro state machine with the OLED countdown and the LED breathing.
Focus Totem — Devlog #2 I changed the board from a rough cluster to a proper routed PCB now, and every error i had before is pretty much cleared. It’s the first time it’s felt like the actual desk totem I pictured rather than a wiring diagram.
It’s done. The last part was just tidying and fixing rather than new features. I fixed all issues, and set it up for submission, by doing my least favourite part: organizing my github. At this point it’s all in place: design files organised into CAD/PCB/Firmware, production files generated, README with the screenshots and BOM. It’s finally done!
Ships:
Focus Totem is a Pomodoro study-timer macropad built around a through-hole Seeed XIAO RP2040. Twist the rotary encoder to set your minutes, press to start, and the 0.91” OLED counts down while two SK6812 LEDs shift amber → green → red through the session. Three keys handle start/pause, hold-to-reset, and a short-break preset. An 84×72mm two-layer board in a 3D-printed sandwich case, running QMK!...

I’ve set up the Slack app from scratch, grabbed the two tokens, and registered four slash commands, all prefixed mc- so they don’t clash with the dozen other bots already in the workspace: /mc-apod → Astronomy Picture of the Day /mc-iss → live ISS position /mc-mars → Mars rover photos /mc-crew → who’s actually in space right now. Right now every command just replies with plain text. I wanted the whole thing wired end-to-end and testable first, so if something breaks later I know it’s the API layer. Each command’s wrapped in try/catch too, so if an API has a wobble it posts a friendly note instead of taking the whole bot down. /mc-iss is my favourite right now, it pulls the live ISS position from wheretheiss.at and lays it out : latitude, longitude, altitude, velocity, plus whether it’s currently in daylight or eclipsed. /mc-crew lists everyone actually in space right now with their role, agency and craft. /mc-mars gave me a detour. The classic api.nasa.gov Mars photos endpoint is dead at the moment (just returns a “no such app” error), so I switched to pulling Perseverance’s freshest raw images straight from NASA’s mars.nasa.gov feed instead. The one that’s not happy yet is /mc-apod. NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day is the one I most want working since it’s the best output, but right now it’s hitting the catch block: “Couldn’t reach NASA’s picture of the day just now.” So the error handling is doing its job, but something in that request path is off.
